Often referred to as "Space Cowboy" and "Gangsta of Love" while still striving for the moniker of "Maurice," Sean Michael spends his days surfing, smutting, organizing his immense gourd collection and fantasizing about one day retiring on a small secluded island peopled entirely by horseshoe crabs. While collecting vast amounts of vintage gay pulp novels and mood rings, Sean whiles away the hours between dropping the f-bomb and persuing the kama sutra by channeling the long lost spirit of John Wayne and singing along with the soundtrack to "Chicago."

A long-time writer of complicated haiku, currently Sean is attempting to learn the advanced arts of plate spinning and soap carving sex toys.

Barring any of that? He'll stick with writing his stories, thanks, and rubbing pretty bodies together to see if they spark.

A Hearts On Fire Review

THREE & A HALF STARS--Do you want to read a well written thought provoking, in depth exposition of closeted male baseball players during baseball season? You want to read about multifaceted characters, learn about their history and such?

Well this will not be the read for you.

But if you want a kinky little BDSM PWP between pro baseball players that just get it on for fuck's sake, let me suggest Sean Michael's "Balls and Strikes". I mean who doesn't want to read about sounding and little cock and ball torture among pseudo-enemies?

This is a one hand read, if you catch my drift and I think you do. So fap away!

We are thrown into a kinky situation with Mac, a ginger (score) submissive(?) who meets up with his black Dom(?)lover, Jason "Dove" Dover. And Mac lusts hard for his Master(?) because he has scatters of dove tattoos around his bound. Mac's also a bit of a pain slut. He needs a lot.

And Dove answers his needing via fisting, sounds and smidge of other sex play. It's only 22 pages, so the story is basically sex. PWP hello!

Hotness factor on a scale of 1-10, it was 7.5. Hot n' steamy. A better Sean Michael read - sometimes this author can be a hit or miss. This is closer to the hit side.

Depth? None.

A good PWP read? I guess. I think it's fap worthy.

It finishes with a HFN-ish ending. Mac seems to want more. There are hints to future cock piercing if a certain someone is a good boy.

Hot kinky sex fun and it's short, so why not?

This short story is intense, full of some very "confrontational lovemaking", and ideal if you're looking for an example of two men who are totally devoted to each other – but would never say so out loud. Well, maybe in a moment of supreme passion, they might. However, I am pretty sure they would completely deny it to their own faces and anyone else who might "suspect" them of loving each other. It is an odd sort of premise for a "romance", but I found it really worked for these two. And anyway, I am sure there are as many degrees of "romance" as there are types of couples, and who am I to tell anyone how to conduct their love life? Besides, they are both professional athletes and it wouldn't be easy for them to come out and keep their teams' respect.

Mac is the sub in the relationship, but he has trouble finding his subspace. He needs Dove to make him submit, but he fights it tooth and nail. Part of the fun for both of them, it also makes for some very intense and explosive scenes. I think part of the problem, for him, is that during the season he has to be a macho athlete for the outside world, and being gay, let alone a sub, just does not fit into the public's image. So when he does get wound up and no longer knows what to do with himself, his body may already realize what he needs, but his brain has a harder time catching up. It looks as if he's not willing to submit at all, but, luckily, his partner Dove knows better and pushes him through his resistance.

Dove knows Mac inside out and does his best to fulfill his need, even at the risk of their relationship being discovered. Dove puts his partner's needs above all else, on a par with his own, I suspect, and makes Mac's dreams come true. Their lovemaking is rough, there is a lot of growling and grunting, even biting, but it's clear the foundation they have is sound.

If you like manly men having rough, almost crazy sex, if you enjoy stories where the sub has to fight himself and his conscious mind before he can find his subspace, and if you're looking for a hot read about lovers who know each other extremely well, then you will probably like this short story.

A very short novella that is 100% Sean Michael all the way.

This BDSM story is just a little piece of time of from a committed couple who just happen to be MLB players.

As usual with his short, short stories I'm always wanting more.

Review written for Love Bytes Reviews.

This short story was pretty much nothing but hot, smutty fun and if all books featuring athletes included scenes like this I’d read them more. :D The story is pretty much what you read in the blurb except you get to see Mac and Dove together in a couple of different instances now that Dove has changed the status quo of not getting together during the season. Mac and Dove were totally hot together but you also got to see the sweeter side of Dove, not just the Dom, and I loved that. Its no secret that I generally enjoy bdsm books and, even though there weren’t a lot of pages to work with, I felt that the author still managed to give a nice variety to the scenes, including some things I wasn’t expecting but nevertheless enjoyed.

I wish I could go into details but with a story of this length, and bearing in mind that its mostly smut, I’d give too much away and ruin the fun of reading it for yourselves. Fans of bdsm should enjoy this story quite a bit but if that isn’t your cup of tea, you’ll want to give this one a pass. For the length of the story, however, I’d say this was totally worth it and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it! :D
