The first story was good but the book is fluffed out with the same 2 stories from book one, two, and three. Yes, the same last two stories from the previous books..

This is one hot mess. The last of a 4-part series, "Beginning and End" starts with the real cause of the outbreak of the zombies, and then ends by fast fowarding back to the future, where the first book started, with the fate of Owen and Helen and the rest of the Albion Tribe on the island. In tying all of these strands together, the story takes a turn for the worse, in my humble reader's opinion. There are many things that defy credulity, and not in that good "suspension of belief because this is speculative fiction" way. No, it's done in a more what-the-fuckery way. Owen's role of letting lose the zombie plague is finally revealed. And what a revelation it is - the author throws everything at us in the ending, including the kitchen sink. Here we have FBI agents, city morgues at midnight, hairpins and lockpickers amongst the teenaged set, and even collusion and conspiracy to kidnapp. All of this in a 16-year-old kid. And a miraculous cure in the gay guy. Wow. My jaw is still hurting from dropping on the floor.

Owen, I will miss you, dude. You were a fun character to tear apart.

Again, poor editing, please guys, when you put something out there for the public to read, have someone or two read it and edit.

Ok, that said, it kept me hooked in to the end and wow, what a finish! I don't dare say more or will spoil.
I do have to say I never liked Owen and Hannah is pretty weak too. But I did feel for their kids and taken in kids.

I think that the ending to this series was really good. I did not expect that ending so it made me like this series a lot more. Like the other parts, this was a very easy read and kept me wanting to read more. I am truly shocked at the ending, its hard to believe the way it ended which makes it that much better.

The surprise ending was the best part. The four parts are very short and could be one book. Several typos and the author repeated entire sections to keep the reader from forgetting important parts I guess. Overall it was just ok. Would not read again.
