Rate this book
Memory Betrayal is the story of college student Elliana Brandt and her twist of fate journey with wealthy CEO Grayson Dane.

Elliana Brandt avoids men like Grayson Dane as one would the plague.

Womanizer Grayson Dane has never met a woman he didn’t like, or that he couldn’t have.

So when a chance meeting brings him to her rescue and disinterested Elliana simply thanks him afterwards and leaves, stunned Grayson goes out after her, snatches her from the sidewalk before she can hail a cab, and forces her into his Escalade, unaware of the tragedy he was about to inflict on her, or that he’d wake up in a hospital bed, her at his side, with everyone under the impression that she is his wife. Including Elliana herself.

The ball was already rolling, what could he do…?

Share Elliana and Grayson’s story of unexpected love, betrayal, heartbreak, past secrets, and healing.

Deborah Ann lives in Northern California with her husband and their two children, where she has enjoyed a long career in the Beauty Industry.

After years of reading with her children and passing on a love for books, Deborah was inspired to write the Destiny series. What started out in the beginning, as a celebration of a loving, young, innocent friendship, and the affecting separation after a move, spun into a mythical journey of the loving binds of friendship, deep family ties, and an intoxicating fairy tale romance, with the power of love that knows no bounds.

Memory Betrayal & The Deal followed, with a leap from young adult romance, to Contemporary romance. While it can be a balancing act at times, Deborah sneaks in as much time as she can to slip into the lives of her characters, and the magical world in which they live...

★★★☆☆ I like a good anemia story and this one is pretty good. I enjoyed the characters and I thought of their love story for quite awhile after finishing it. Throughout I was doing way too much thinking of, “Well, if I was writing it I would have done this…” Which is a good thing, in that the foundation is pretty good. And a bad thing, because I’m being too arrogant to think I could pull off a story this good.

I did feel that, in an effort to get the set-up settled, the author had things a little out-of-order of what would truly be the first things one would be concerned about and prioritize after a car accident, death of a dear friend, and loss of one’s memory. At the beginning it felt as if she was jamming in too much too soon and in too disorderly a fashion.

Also, the POVs switching caused an uneven flow; although I could keep them straight, I often had to think about from which character I was hearing; this definitely took me out of the story.

Some of the dialogue was spot-on, others not so much; however, for the most part characters came across as real. In addition, all the people Grayson had to step aside and talk with to keep his lie straight - and then their easy capitulation - was pretty unbelievable, but I let it slide. This is Romancelandia, after all.

A couple of pet peeves:

This is the first novel I’ve read by this author and, while slow in parts, I’ll certainly give her another go as I think most of these things are new author issues. It will be neat to see her writing abilities develop, as I believe she has what it takes.

Love the cover!

I received this book free from the author for an honest review. Doing so had no effect on my rating.

Memory Betrayal - overall 3.5 Stars
Memory Betrayal is about a wealthy, gorgeous man who has it all including any girl he has ever wanted. That is until he meets Elliana who can’t get away from him fast enough. She knows him (not him personally, but guys like him) and she wants nothing to do with it. The only problem is Grayson has never been rejected and that makes him all the more interested in Elli. When it starts to rain, Elli reluctantly accepts Grayson’s offer to give her a ride. Little did she know that that decision would change her life forever. As soon as they left the club they were involved in a very serious accident that left Grayson’s best friend dead, Grayson injured and Elli without her memory. And this is where Grayson and Elli’s tumultuous journey begins.
*Spoilers below*
I enjoyed this story. It was so different and that intrigued me. I definitely wasn’t expecting Elli to lose her memory and for Grayson to convince everyone that she was his wife! I really felt bad for Elli because you can tell something very traumatic happened to her by the way she acts, and then she is just going to get her heart broken all over again when she finds out the truth. Grayson is your typical charming, handsome, used to getting everything he wants millionaire. But for some reason he is willing to leave his womanizing ways behind in order to keep Elli. The first half of the story is about Elli adjusting to life with Grayson and trying to remember anything she can. Honestly, for me it was a little slow at times. But it definitely got better! The second half gets crazy! Elli’s memory comes back and she is pissed! Her life will never go back to normal because Grayson isn’t giving up, her best friend wants to be more, and her sexy doctor is making house calls!
I really liked the doctor, he was sweet and protective and I wouldn’t have been upset if she had ended up with him. But Grayson does prove that he loves Elli so I’m ok with them being together.
My only criticisms of the book are: 1. the complexity that multiple POV’s can cause. It’s sometimes difficult to keep up with who’s thought you are currently reading. 2. and this is not the author’s doing, but I really didn’t like Aubrey (which I don’t think you’re supposed to) but I just really, really didn’t like her. In fact, when the book got a lot better for me was when she was longer in it as much. These are just minor things really. And overall, I enjoyed this unique story! Thank you to Deborah Ann for allowing me to read this!

This story has an interesting premises revolving around amnesia? I have wrote about amnesia myself, and I'm very intrigued with the concept.
The beginning of this story reminded me a 50 Shades and I thought it was very Romeo of Grayson to fall so hard for Ellie, when they 1st met. So I was skeptical of how it would play out.
But I liked where the author went with the story.
It was hilarious that Grayson used Ellie's memory loss to his advantage. Because any rational person would know that it's going to back fire 10 fold.
I enjoyed Ellie's strong character. I also liked the connection that was made to bring Ellie and Grayson together.
The ending was worth waiting for and I'm curious as to what the secret could possibly be. I will read book 2, so I can find out.

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.

Deborah Ann is an amazing author and this book blew me away just as her other ones have. This book was a contemporary romance which was different then her paranormal romance series, which is the first books I have read by her. This book was just as good as her other ones. Her style of writing is so unique that it sucks you in and makes you think the characters are friends you have known all your life. This has caused me to shake my nook in frustration and yelling at the characters that has caused my friends to question my sanity.
This book is focused on Grayson Dane and Elliana Brandt. Grayson is a wealthy CEO that is used to getting everything he wants so when he meets Elli and she wants nothing to do with him he becomes intrigued and wont take no for an answer. This leads to a tragic accident that leaves one of Graysons closest friends to be killed and Elliana thinking she is his wife after losing her memory. Grayson plays along not wanting to let her go because he knows there is something special about her. This causes a countdown to begin in your head since you know eventually something will happen, she will remember and it will be painful. But before all this happens you get to see the kind of “wedded bliss” they get to experience. They fall in love which just makes it that much more painful when it all comes to a head. A good part of this book is seeing Elli’s and Grayson’s fake marriage grow into a true love. There are many problems that arise during this novel and some parts where you truly don’t know how this story is going to end which makes this a suspenseful novel filled with romance that will have anyone wishing for a love like theirs.
One of the few reasons I didn’t give this novel five stars is because it dragged a little to long. There were some unnecessary scenes in the end that could have been removed to make the novel end more smoothly and wrap up most of the novel while still preparing for the next one. All in all though I loved this book and can’t wait for the next one.

Can true love and your soul mate be based on a fake marriage set up just by not telling the whole truth?
I was happy for Grayson and Elliana to find their "Wedded Bliss" but a part of me had my eyes closed waiting for something big to hit the fan knowing it is going to be a big mess to clean up. Grayson is just happy to get his "Angel" any way he can. But will it be enough?
Can't wait to see what their future holds!

ARC received from author for honest review

I finished this book two days ago and decided to give myself some time to thing about it. I'll admit the story has stuck with me and I always like when that happens it means it was good. There are a few things that bothered me such as the internal monologues of so many characters and the back and forth POVs of numerous characters. But even with those I still enjoyed the story. I love Grayson Dane, even the name is HOT. I enjoyed the concept of the story, was it a bit long? Yes, but still intriguing. I think it really started to pick up for me around 60-65% and that was when I really couldn't put it down. Does end on a bit of a cliffhanger, those don't really bother me though what does bother me is not knowing when the next book will be out. So.....spill it Deborah when will we get more of Grayson and Elli's story?
