Sweet Filthy Boy

Rate this book
One-night stands are supposed to be with someone convenient, or wickedly persuasive, or regrettable. They aren’t supposed to be with someone like him.

But after a crazy Vegas weekend celebrating her college graduation—and terrified of the future path she knows is a cop-out—Mia Holland makes the wildest decision of her life: follow Ansel Guillaume—her sweet, filthy fling—to France for the summer and just…play.

When feelings begin to develop behind the provocative roles they take on, and their temporary masquerade adventures begin to feel real, Mia will have to decide if she belongs in the life she left because it was all wrong, or in the strange new one that seems worlds away.

Sweet Filthy Boy was one of those books that sucked me in from the very beginning. Sweet, sexy and hilarious, it was a real winner in my book! I love books that make me laugh, have heroines I actually like, and boys that make me swoon. This book had all three of those elements.

Mia Holland is a recent college graduate. She has one weekend. One weekend to let loose, be free before the responsibilities her father has placed on her go in to effect. She’s expected to go to business school in Boston. She’s not sure thats what she wants, but she doesn’t know what else she would do. While on vacation, she does something thats not normal for her. She goes outside of her comfort zone. She takes a chance.

 photo 190469b5-3069-431e-bfd0-93f9979342ef_zpsf40cc969.jpg

Meeting Ansel Guillaume, an attorney from France, will change everything. Mia is quiet, a little shy and not forthcoming. With Ansel, everything is different. She can talk, be herself, even her friends are shocked. Ansel just has this way about him. He makes her feel special.
He makes me feel like I’m the only person on the planet. He looks at me like he’s one second away from devouring me.

Ansel and Mia’s one night together is wild and spontaneous. And after a lot of contemplation, it leads Mia into taking the plunge. For once, she will do what she wants, not whats expected of her. She is going to spend the summer in Paris with Ansel. At first, it’s not what she expected. Ansel is working a lot and she is doing a lot of sightseeing. Things between them is something they’ve never been before. A little awkward. As a little time passes, Mia and Ansel find a way to move past that awkward stage and slowly fall into the summer of ‘like’.

I loved Mia and Ansel together. Loved them! Mia was fantastic. By the end of the story, I was so proud of her and the strength she developed. And her friends. OMG. I loved them both and I’m so happy we will be getting more books from this group. The Whore Jar- cracks me up! Then there was Ansel. ADORED that boy! He was so charming, sweet and swoony. I want to listen to him speak some french! I loved both characters individually, but most of all- I loved them together. And the things they brought out in one another.
“I’m lost in you.”

“Me too.”

“Yes. I just want to fall asleep inside you. Maybe our bodies will make love again when our brains sleep.”

Ansel and Mia’s chemistry was off the charts. This might sound like an odd thing to say, but some of the more fun and creative sex scenes were my favorite part of the story! They were sexy, sure, but they also made me smile. If you are looking for a book that will make you laugh, make you grin, make you feel good and has that sweet and sexy romance vibe with some fabulously lovable characters, check this one out!

hey did you know that every time a review includes a coughsmolderingcough image of the novel's hero & heroine, images of vacuously pretty models or ostentatiously pretty celebrities from Us magazine or various other perfectly pretty sticks of margarine... that every time a reviewer does that...
a kitten or puppy dies?? truth!

this is because I literally have a basement full of kittens and puppies. every time I see a review like that, I go down to my basement and pick a particularly cute kitten or puppy. and then I smash it with the lead hammer I have surgically attached to the stump of my lost right hand.

people, please stop killing puppies & kittens! :(

HOT DAMN!! The writing duo of Christina Lauren created another panty-melter. I read book 2, Dirty Rowdy Thing, first and then this one. I know, sometimes I’m backwards! :)

Viva Las Vegas!
I love books that at some point the characters end up in Vegas because you’re guaranteed for some crazy antics. And this book didn’t disappoint in that area. Mia and Ansel have just met and done something crazy that leads to Mia spending the summer with Ansel in his city, Paris. Who does that? Meets a guy and then spends a summer living with him 5,000 miles away?!

description

Did the authors read my diary?
Oh wait! That would be me who meets a guy who lives 3,000 miles away while in college and then flies across the country to spend the summer with him. Like Mia I was in my early twenties when I decided to be wild and free for the summer! Btw, that guy I spent the summer with followed me back home, after the summer, and we’ve been married 20 years in September. So, I totally understood Mia’s need to escape from family and life pressures and just go be someone else for a few months. My teens better not be reading this review because I won’t be supporting them if they decide to follow in their parents footsteps. *lol*

Naughty student and the Professor!,
All their roleplaying foreplay was S.T.E.A.M.Y. Seriously, I loved watching them get into character and let their awkwardness melt away. It was a great way to learn more about each other without having to have a sit down conversation. Especially since Ansley was forced to work the majority of the time Mia was visiting. He’s an upcoming lawyer who is aspiring to get ahead on the case he was working on so he could have the pick of jobs.

Avoidance… never the answer.
Ansley has a past he’s been avoiding telling Mia about because he’s afraid it will ruin their future. And, at the same time, Mia is escaping from the realities of her life: broken relationship with her dad, her career ending injury, and not wanting to continue her education by getting a Master’s degree. When all those things bubble to the surface they are no longer able to live in denial. They are forced to take responsibility for their actions.

Sweet Filthy Boy was a book that worked for me. It was sweet but not cheesy . . . it was steamy but not erotica. Just an all around fun romantic book. I’m looking forward to Oliver’s book that comes out in the Fall but now that I know about Perry, I’m dying to see how the authors' work that story into an HEA.

Don't forget to check out the novella that tells Ansel's point of view of the morning after. It's an audio for $1.95-> http://amzn.to/1BhfHTT

3.5 stars!

[2 star beginning
4.5 star story
3 star ending]

description

I do not read “light, sweet, & funny” books. To be honest, those bore me and I need stories with much more depth so I avoided the Beautiful Bastard series. This book, however, caught my attention. At first glance the blurb is quite simplistic and sounds like any other book but I had this nagging feeling there was a hidden layer to the story and I was right! (Sorry not going to tell you – you’ll just have to read and find out!)

2 star beginning

I’m all for total escapism because that’s why I read; however, I need some kind of realism in there as well or I won’t be able to relate to the characters at all. This beginning was quite ludicrous – I was staring at my book in disbelief at what was happening. If it weren’t for a friend warning me about the unrealistic first 25% I would’ve stopped reading. I have no doubt this part will appeal to longtime fans of this dynamic author duo and anyone else looking for some hot fun. Call me pragmatic or whatever, but it’s way too impulsive and careless for my tastes.

4.5 star story

After Mia hops on a plane and goes with Ansel to Paris, the story took a turn for the better and I absolutely adored it! I’d say hot sex takes up about 70% of the book but it was done so, so well! I pretty much laughed my ass off with Mia and Ansel’s role playing (TONS of that going on hehe) and despite the rather unbelievable start to their relationship, I liked that they took some time to get to know each other – those scenes were so awkward but funny to read!

description

3 star ending

Everything – the story, the steamy sex scenes, etc…- was going so well and then BAM, plot twist and I pretty much disliked Ansel after that. To clarify, deliberately omitting information from your significant other is called lying in my book (and this is something big too). I did like how Mia finally took charge and grew a backbone, and though the ending was a bit rushed and tied up too nicely, it was also very sentimental and touching so overall I liked it.

As this is the first book I’ve read from these authors and, for the most part, liked, I’m not opposed to reading the next one in the series. My biggest complaint would be the ridiculous first 25% of the story but I do realize without it, there wouldn’t be the rest of the story which was significantly better. If you end up struggling with the beginning like I did, keep reading! It’s worth it.

I just can't believe what I just read. I really want to think that the last 17 days I spent struggling. Trying to finish this book. All. Everything. Was a nightmare. But it wasn't. The book exist and I did finish reading it. My brain can't understand what happened.

boring photo 587885_zpsd2dfc7cf.gif

This ain't my first Christina Lauren's book, but I'm thinking it might be my last.

What to say? Where to begin?

The storyline. I don't believe there was one here and before you say anything, yes I need to bring the BB series to this conversation. From the BB series I only LOVE "Beautiful Bastard" and "Beautiful Player." The other books weren't that good. As soon as Christina Lauren announced "The Wild Seasons Series" I told myself this would be different. The last book from the BB series ( "Beautiful Beginning" ) was such a disappointment to me, I really NEEDED this book to be AWESOME!

happy photo 785893_zpse912642a.gif

It wasn't.

boring photo 611112_zpse620c0c8.gif

Let's start with the characters. None of them were likable. None of them were adorable. Actually Ansel and Mia were very annoying. I didn't feel the connection between reader and characters and even less the connection between the characters.

crying photo tumblr_mcr4isqyIE1r9uv98o1_400_zps86f13c98.gif

Like I said before, STORYLINE? There just wasn't any. And the hints of some sort of plot were so much predictable. So EXTREMELY Obvious. I wanted to cry. Or maybe I should be happy. Because now I know I'm a psychic. I knew what was going to happen before it actually happened.

Back to the Book : I struggled with it a lot and there was more sex than story. I don't mind the sex scenes, but when the sex scenes bored you to death as well, that's when you know something is not OK with this book.

 photo tumblr_mi55jmCT7k1rhg5lso9_500_zpsb0c1c0af.gif

I did skip a few paragraphs here and there and I feel I didn't miss anything important.

I wanted to LOVE this series. That won't happen.

4.5--Ansel Loving--Stars!!

Yep, even when he was stupid I LOVED Ansel!

And what can I say...I love a good weekend in Vegas story!

Look....it's Ansel, Finn and Oliver.

What happens when you have 3 hot chicks + 3 hot guys + sluts on a trampoline???

Dumb shit like !!! But can I just tell you how happy that made me!!

“I want to love all of my life as much as I love this night.”

So some crazy things happened in Vegas....this happened to be Mia and Ansel's story. Mia and her friends have graduated from college and are in Vegas for one last hoorah!

Mia and company hook up with Ansel and company and so the story goes.

In every day life Mia is shy, she's quiet, she can come off as aloof. Ansel brings something out in her. Mia is set to start business school in the fall, much to her dismay. It's not at all what she wants to do with her life. And meeting Ansel might just change things for her.

After their weekend in Vegas, Mia agrees to spend the summer with Ansel in Paris. A chance to explore a beautiful city.

Mia and Ansel kind of started backwards. This summer was their chance to get to know each other, to fall in love, to discover each other.

I seriously fell in love with Ansel. I loved Mia. I loved how they fell in love. I loved how hard they fell. I loved how they grew. I loved how they laughed.

Everything was just so perfect. Until it wasn't....Ansel you stupid, stupid boy!

Withholding information, misleading Mia....shame on you!

It's okay though....I forgive you!

What can I say? I loved the Bastard series and I loved this one. It had great characters, great banter and SUPER HOT sex!

I loved it! Sweet Filthy boy was funny, sexy and cute! I think the title for the book, totally fit with the male characters personality. Ansel was amazing, he captivated me and I'm sure he will steal your hearts when you finally meet him to! What I loved more in this book like in Beautiful Players is that her characters are so real, they are not perfect they have their problems like us in our every day life!!

The story begins with Mia who is in Las Vegas with her friends for vacation after graduating college and before moving to Boston. In Vegas Mia meets Ansel a Frenchman who instantly catches her eyes. There is an immediatelconnection between them, and something extreme happens that will change their lives...

description

Mia must decide if she will go to France with Ansel for the summer.. Must she follow her head or her heart?

description

She goes with her heart and she decides to visit France,
and they start a relationship based on sex..
But is the sex enough to make their relationship last?

description

I think I must go to France *sigh* Ansel was amazing! He was funny, sweet, charming, filthy and impulsive! I loved him! I'm going to buy the audiobook too, I want to listen him speaking French Mia was shy and she has to deal with a lot of things... Ansel was there for her and helped her to deal with some of them! But sometimes she pissed me off and I want to slap her! The plot was interesting with funny moments! The were a lot of sex scenes and they were so hot!!
If you are a fan of the Beautiful Bastard series I'm sure you will love it
and
If you are looking for a SWEET FILTHY BOY this is what you need!

Sweet Filthy Boy was a sweet, sexy, fun read. A perfect balance of humor, steam and romance. Recent college graduate, Mia, heads off to Vegas with her two best friends to celebrate. While in Vegas she meets Ansel, a gorgeous Frenchman. And after spending one night together, she wakes up with a gold ring on a pretty significant finger.

description

Ansel makes her an offer she can't refuse, asking her to spend the summer in Paris with him. Mia decides to be spontaneous and takes him up on his offer, things are a bit awkward at first, but as time passes their relationship grows into a more intense connection. What will happen when the summer is over?

Overall Opinion: I get so frustrated with these books because the endings just simply aren't satisfying for me. I really enjoy them otherwise, so that is where the frustration stems from. I always enjoy Ms. Lauren's characters and storylines (and her sex scenes aren't bad either *wink, wink*), but her endings just leave me wanting. I want a solid HEA! I want to see them succeeding in their dream careers together as a healthy functioning couple!! Other than the ending, I actually enjoyed this more than I thought I would. I had this book in my tbr pile for a while now, but I always put it off. I think the "boy" part of the title conflicted with my self conscious or something -- because I always want my H's to be manly! I didn't find that the H was immature though. I actually enjoyed their story, so I'm happy that I gave it a shot :)

Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Mia and Ansel's story. They meet in Vegas with their friends at a bar. They are instantly drawn to one another, and wake up after a crazy night married to one another. Mia takes a gamble and decides to follow Ansel back to Paris for the summer and to give their marriage a shot. There are some hot sexy times, some unexpected real world obstacles, and some ex drama...but they do get a HFN ending.

POV: This was told in Mia's POV.

Overall Pace of Story: Good until the abrupt ending. I never skimmed and it flowed well otherwise.

Instalove: Kind of. They have an instant connection and instalust, but no mention or internal thought of love until later.

H rating: 3 stars. Ansel. I liked him, but then he did disappoint me with not being completely upfront with Mia.

h rating: 4 stars. Mia. I liked her. I liked how she stepped outside of her box and how she jumped right in with Ansel.

Sadness level: Low, no tissues needed.

Push/Pull: Not much

Heat level: Moderate/high. They have some hot chemistry and scenes, but there were times (only a few) where it seemed like the sex scenes took over the storyline.

Descriptive sex: Yes

Safe sex: Yes.

OW/OM drama: Yes

Sex scene with OW or OM: No

Cheating: No

Separation: Yes

Possible Triggers: Not really

Closure: This had way too an abrupt ending for me. Why do you always do this to me, Ms. Lauren?!? I always seem to feel underwhelmed with her endings, but I keep on reading them...obviously ;). I would call this a HFN ending because there were some big unanswered questions left.

How I got it: I got it with my scribed subscription.

Safety: This should be Safe for most readers.

“Life is built of these little horrible moments and the giant expanses of awesome in between.”

 photo sweetfilthyboycollage.png

Sweet Filthy Boy starts off with a bang, in which Mia our heroine, takes a graduation trip to Vegas where she meets a sexy frenchman Ansel, and the two get married. Mia ends up following Ansel to France, where he returns to work and is hardly around. Mia finds herself mostly alone, in a foreign land, when she decides to make the most of her summer in Paris and with Ansel.

Mia spends most of her time looking at famous places like the Luxembourg Gardens:
 photo sfbluxgardens.png

(^^^Holy crap I need to get my ass back to Paris, I missed this when I was there!)

And the Eiffel Tower:
 photo eiftow.png

^^^Geez, Mia had it sooooooooo rough in France. NOT!!

Anyways, I gotta say I loved me some Ansel. He was far from perfect, but he tried . Ansel did his best to make things work out, and although he made some shitty decisions, his intentions were always for what he thought was best for his and Mia's marriage.

“He’s the guy who’ll do a ridiculous robot dance to make you laugh, who’ll lick the tip of your nose, make a fool out of himself for a smile. I’m sure if I tried to wrestle him to the ground, he’d let me win. And enjoy every minute.”

The instalove thing didn't bother me that much, because that's what I come to expect from a guilty-pleasure read like this one. Also, I don't really consider it instalove because the characters struggled throughout the entire book to connect with each other and tried to take the time to get to know each other.

“I want to love all of my life as much as I love this night.”

My main issue with this book?

The pacing of the book was off. Near the middle of the book I started to get bored. And by bored I mean the entire middle of the book was about Mia and Ansel having sex, and to be honest, I started to lose interest. When a book is driven by sex scenes and not by the characters, that's when I want to quit. It's the biggest issue that I had with Beautiful Bastard; too much sex, not enough plot. Luckily, the beginning and end of this book was actually about the plot and driven by the characters, so it was a success in my book.

I do feel the big reveal should have happened a lot earlier on in the book because the ending felt very rushed and could have had more of a smooth transition. I'd also like to know .

Overall, this exceeded my expectations because I hated Beautiful bastard, so bravo to the writing team that is Christina Lauren. Wonderful job ladies!

You know those stories were people go to Vegas, get drunk, get married, and then get it annulled? Yeah, this isn’t one of the stories or at least not the full story.

Mia and her girlfriends have just graduated college and to celebrate they go to Vegas. While in Vegas they meet three sexy men all from other countries. Ansel, Finn and Oliver are the trifecta of hotness and when they all get drunk, one thing leads to another, and they end up paired up and married. Finn, Harlow, Oliver, and Lola do the expected thing and get their marriages annulled. But not Ansel and Mia, they decide to stay married.

Mia’s life changed forever when her dancing career ended tragically, now she is living the life her father wants for her. So when she meets Ansel and he makes her feel alive and happy for the first time since dancing, she doesn’t want to give that up…at least drunk Mia insist that she doesn’t.

Ansel is the sweetest guy and he falls quickly. So when drunken Mia proposes to him and begs to stay married to her even after they sober up and realize it was a mistake…he does.

The next morning their trip is over and it’s time to say goodbye, but Ansel isn’t ready to say goodbye and asks Mia to accompany him to Paris for the summer. When a Sweet Filthy Boy asks you to go to Paris for the summer, there is really only one answer. Yes, please.

This story is so cute and sweet. I loved reading about Ansel and Mia. While getting together was pretty crazy, their real relationship shaped up nicely. The two of them have to learn how to coexist in the real world, and get to know the each other. This story is appropriately named because Ansel is the sweetest boy with the dirtiest of ways. This is quick sexy read that I highly recommend!

Despite this book's unfortunate title and cover art, it's actually really good. The bad boy vibe that the whole aesthetic sets up is completely wrong--the love interest of this book is actually so cute and sweet and gentle and I would have never picked this book up had Emily not told me it was her fav by Christina Lauren.

Overall, solid book. It's perhaps one of the smuttiest I've ever read, but it still somehow has room to develop the characters and a plot. That it's set in Paris is also a perk. The reason I took .5 stars off is because it just didn't have anything that grabbed me personally. Usually with books I smash the 5-star button on, something about the characters and plot really clicks with me, like how I could relate to the main character. But this just lacked that quality, maybe because the characters made decisions and took risks that I would never. It's hard to get into specifics because it's spoilery, but a couple of the plot decisions were bothersome because from a personal preference standpoint, I just don't find them interesting or compelling ways to create conflict.

One gripe I have with Christina Lauren books is that there's always a drunk sex scene where the MC forgets what happened, and I find it so annoying. It's consensual and everything so there's no issue there, but it comes off as sooo unromantic to me for her to wake up and just be like "wild night lol!!!!! anyway" Again, this fits into the fact that this book doesn't completely satisfy my preferences for a book to be a perfect romance, so it might not bug anyone else.

(parts of this reminded me of warnette, but we don't have to talk about it.)

I would definitely recommend this though if you want a change from books with super macho masculine dudes. It's very steamy yet real and cute, and it inspired me to start learning French on Duolingo.

I'm not sure what to rate this tbh.
It started of pretty fuckin' phenomenal. I was absolutely swept away by the writing and the characters and the feelings that developed between them. I mean, I was going loopy at one point and had to get myself together, because breathing issues as I was falling so hard for it.

But then, the relationship just turned... weird. Or unconventional might be a better word. I honestly can't put my finger on it as to what is bugging me about it other than the fact that I wasn't and my feelings weren't as invested as I'd hoped it would be.

5 I love French Men Stars

Sweet Filthy Boy is a standalone and is part of the Wild Seasons series. I read the books out of order. I was really curious about Ansel since all my friends loved him and he’s mentioned a few times in the future books. I can honestly say, he’s my favorite Hero of the series.

Nothing is sexier than a French man.

This will be an audio review.

I will do the audio versions of this series because it’s really good. Sadly this is from Mia’s POV, so I don’t get a male narrator, but there is a mini-novella / audio only book just with Ansel’s voice, so not is all loss.

One word to describe this book is kinky sex and lots of it. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Mia and her friends go to Las Vegas. She wanted to have fun and relax, but when wakes up from a night out she realizes she is married. Yes, I love random marriages books. I love love love love this plot! Mia wants to end the marriage, but Ansel said he wouldn’t until after the summer.

Who is Ansel? He’s a sexy French man with a heart of gold. Ansel needs to go back to France for the summer and wants Mia to join him. Mia does.

I thought Mia was fun, level-headed and very adventurous. I loved that she threw caution to the wind and followed her heart. It was really cute reading the interactions between Ansel and Mia because they are husband and wife, but they are also strangers. Ansel is sexy and he works hard. He works all hours of the day, but he tries his best to be there for Mia since she is alone in the country. Even though it’s a female narrator doing the voice, I loved it when she spoke in Ansel’s voice. Her fake French accent was adorable.

Throughout the marriage Mia tries hard to engage more with Ansel and be adventurous in bed. She dresses up in different outfits and it’s really cute when she tries to seduce her husband. I would consider this book more erotica.

Overall, Sweet Filthy Boy was a fun, sexy read and it’s my favorite out of the series.

Life is built of these little horrible moments and the giant expanses of awesome in between.

The story starts with the wild weekend in Vegas where Mia and her friends decide to celebrate their graduation. Mia carries lot of baggage of her past and unsure future but that weekend she decides to let go of her life and for once wanted to be somebody else not tied up by burden of being a responsible daughter. Her wild side sees the light of day when she lays her eyes on Ansel. He is gorgeous and charming with hot body and there's undeniable attraction between them.

“You should see him with his shirt off."
Ansel rocks on his heels, sipping his drink. "Please continue as if I"m not here. This is fantastic.”

What started as sex marathon one crazy night ends up with Mia and Ansel getting married.

“Which was your favorite? Living room, or bed, or floor, or bed, or wall, or mirror, or bar, or floor?”

“Shhh,” I whisper, lifting my cup to take another, more careful sip of coffee. I smile into my mug. “You’re weird.”

“I think I need a cast for my penis.”

Here’s when the story gets interesting, while Lola and Harlow (Mia’s friends) annul their marriage with Oliver and Finn (Ansel’s friends) Ansel convinces Mia to give their marriage a try and to spend the summer with him in Paris. Sounds crazy right!? Marrying a complete stranger and to top that follow him to Paris, but with Ansel she actually feels alive, he makes her brave, wild and seductive. She wants to relive this life before she follows the path her father wanted for her.

“I want to love all of my life as much as I love this night.”

Escaping to Paris and extending her fling brings both of them together, they push the boundary of their sexual life which change the direction of their growing relationship. What starts as fun and careless transforms to something strong and meaningful. That summer changes both their life, even Ansel the most impulsive and fun loving is also struggling to right his past and have a normal life, but when Mia finally considers to remain married to Ansel his past threatens their future.

Will Mia forgive him for hiding the truth? Was that the reason he asked her to spend summer in Paris so as to redeem himself? What happens when this adventure ends?

This was surprisingly a good read, it was blend of funny, sexy, dirty and passionate romance. It had me smiling and swooning most of the time. What I loved more was the strong friendship Mia and her friends share, can’t wait to read their story.

I would love to rate higher if it was not for tons of sexual encounters taking huge space in the middle of the story, not complaining about the hotness here ladies but wish it was plot driven. Though the ending was sweet it felt rushed. All in all enjoyed this sweet filthy Story of discovering oneself.

P.S: Thanks for the recommendation Yasmine x!

I wanted some classic Christina Lauren, but what I actually got was more smut than story...

Firstly I could tell that this one was written a while ago, as this was nothing like the duos more recent offerings! Nowadays Christina Lauren write romantic type chick-lit, with a few sex scenes but they mostly fade to black. This book was most definitely more in the new adult genre. Now I'm not one to shy away from a steamy sex scene, and I'm not really a fan of skipping over the details, but this one had almost too much sex?! It was constant, and I felt myself rolling my eyes, bored, and started to skim read the sex scenes as there were SO MANY! This is definitely not a book to read in public! *blushes*

I loved the setting in Paris, and wish we got to explore that more!
I loved Ansel as the love interest (when he wasn't having sex with Mia) as he was so sweet.
I liked the friendships both the characters had.
I liked the going off after college/uni and finding yourself for a bit, and think everyone should do that!
I actually liked both Ansel and Mia.

These people did not get to know each other. There was very little in way of conversation or relationship. I wanted more about their background, I wanted them to share that in the book. They barely talked, except in some weird situations which I wont go into. I mean each to their own, but I think that if you're in a relationship, you have to be able to communicate, and if you can't, then you're not mature enough to have one.
The middle part of the book was odd. It dragged, and was just about the characters kind of avoiding reality by having constant sex in a myriad of different ways?!
There was quite a lot of what I would call violent sex. Bruises, bite marks, soreness etc. Sorry but that really doesn't do it for me, and I didn't expect it after reading quite a few of Christina Lauren's books now!

To sum up, I liked the idea of this book, and maybe if it had been written more like their most recent novels, I would have liked it more. I wanted to see this couple get to know each other in more than a physical way. If you are looking for a quick smutty/porn read then go for it, no judgement, but this wasnt what I was looking for.

“Which was your favorite? Living room, or bed, or floor, or bed, or wall, or mirror, or bar, of floor?”
“Shhh,” I whisper. “You're weird.”
“I think I need a cast for my penis.”

Genre: New Adult Romance.
Cover: 8/10
Writing: 9/10
Heroine: 6/10
Hero: 9/10
Hotness: 8/10
Romance: 9/10
Extra book Details: Heroine POV. stand alone. 304 kindle pages.

Mia has just finished college, she's leaving for Business School in Boston in three weeks, much to her father's pleasure and her despair.
Her best friends Harlow and Lola encourage her to lose herself at a weekend in Las Vegas.
Only problem she ends up losing herself in Ansel, the French Adonis who makes her melt from the other side of the room.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

The heroine had a lot of hang-ups. For the first 30-40% she seemed to constantly be suffering with some kind of angst. Anything from stuttering, nerves, panic, guilt, worry, humiliation, her confidence, body hang ups, sex hang ups, worrying about her father, her future... It greatly lessened after that, I was really grateful that it did. But it seemed to stunt her personality somehow.

That was my ONLY negative.

Yip, Ansel was totally Sweet and nice, and totally flirty and Filthy. Also totally impulsive. A real 'seize the day' kind of man who 'falls a little bit in love with everything that he sees.' I really truly loved him.

I loved seeing Mia's best friends and Ansel's best friends together, they were really fun and seemed to have a lot of personality. There wasn't much of this interaction though, very little in fact.

All in all, a less angst heroine with more personality and AN EPILOGUE, would have made this a 5 star.
So more like 4.5 stars.

I LOVE THIS BOOK!!

the humor is here, the spice is here, the EMOTIONS ARE HERE. seriously, i fell in love with their relationship so hard that I’m VERY ANGRY that this is a standalone. i needed more from them. i wanted so much more. i wanted to learn more about their future, their plans, i want to know if he ends up ever living with her, how they treat REAL married life. i would have loved a super extended epilogue or even just a second book for them.

i knew how invested i was with them when i felt that heavy lump in my throat at the conflict of the book—i was so shook that i literally had to reread what just happened and my hand was covering my mouth. I didn’t see it coming especially because there wasn’t a ton of hints about it throughout the book, so when it happened, it was like an explosion in front of my face.

Overall, this is steamy and sexy and funny and romantic and just such a feel-good book for me

despite it being 5 stars, there are certain plot points that i wish could have been explained further. they had communication issues in the sense that THEY GOT MARRIED AND SHE MOVED TO PARIS WITH HIM, but they didn’t really talk about it a lot?? it was kind of like an elephant in the room that they chased away with sex. and there’s A LOT HERE. i loved it. it wasn’t just mindless sex where there was no plot (kind of felt that way for a little bit, BUT IT GOT TURNED AROUND FOR ME)

some of the dialogue was a little awkward, but the majority of it landed well, in my opinion.

there’s so much romance between them and i felt such a great connection between the two characters that the tons of sex they had was icing on the cake AND cherry on top.

this is technically a stand alone as part of the series, so i’ll definitely be picking up the second book to read about her best friend and his best friend together.

the conflict towards the end of the book was kind of a head-scratcher for me and idk if that’s supposed to be good or bad. I was just kind of like... ? how it unfolded, how it led to it, how it was handled after (though props to Mia for being strong enough to take herself out of the equation)

This isn’t some literary masterpiece where it’ll hit all of the points for you as a reader, but goddamn it, I enjoyed it so much—I hardly wanted to put the book down and it just felt like an easy going book for me.

There’s not a lot of substance, but I kind of like that about this book. It did the job for me: I laughed, I blushed, I swooned—what more could I ask for?

I enjoyed reading this book and I loved the way Ansel and Mia tried to get to know each other better. Day by day, their relationship as husband and wife grew stronger and it was so cute seeing them together. I know this is erotic romance story, but too many unnecessary sex scenes irritated me a lot. I admit I skimmed through some of them.

Aside from the fact that almost half the story revolved around sex, for some reason, this book was just right for me.

On the whole, this was a lovely and sexy read. Fans of erotic romance and new adult romance shouldn't miss this one.

It is a fact known, that once you get to Vegas. You tend to do something really Stupid. Regardless of what kind!, you just have to. (at least i did). >_>. And this
Book is the big example of what worst could happen when you visit Vegas for the weekend...

Sweet Filthy Boy. it's about three ladies. who recently graduated from college, and looking for a quickie Vacation in Las Vegas before going back to REALITY!...

Mia Holland tries to cope with her sudden change reality. after being badly injured in a car accident, her dream of dancing ballet shatters. and now she's not sure what she wants, with her stubborn Father who "forces" (in a way) her to go into Business School in Boston. So Mia's only escape/freedom is within these 3 days, with her besties.

While on Vacation, Mia goes outside of her comfort zone. Doing everything that she never usually does. and one of those is opening up to a random
Crème Brûlée french man Aka -> Ansel Guillaume. who happens to be in US. spending time with his friends. Ansel's very charismatic, gorgeous, funny.

After having a wild, vague, crazy night together. Mia actually takes Ansel's offer and follow him to Paris. were she'll have a summer full of Dreams, and Fore Plays...

These two were like sex monkeys.
description
You'll Witness all the above...

I really liked Ansel's goofiness. his carefree, he's easy to fall in love with, and couldn't blame Mia for you know what!!. But that last semi-realization that's what really got me angry toward Ansel! That was really stupid, yes?. Anyhow, I enjoyed reading this book, Although it's a bit to SWEET for me.

In a crazy weekend in Vegas, Mia meets Ansel. A sexy French guy who is vacationing with his friends. And in just one night they get to know each other and everything changes. They share things they didn’t shared with anyone else and something between them immediately starts to grow.
In a impulse Ansel invites Mia to spend the summer in Paris with him and trying to run from her own life, Mia accepts.

description

In the beginning things are awkward. Ansel is always working and adaptation isn’t easy. But eventually they got past that and things get easy, and sweet (and sexy) again. But then real life kicks and they got to face it: They have opposite lives and live in different countries. Even in different continents.
So how can they stay together, if everything is set to make them apart from the beginning?

Rating: 4,5 Stars.
Storyline: Original within its genre. Sweet, romantic and with pretty sexy moments.
Writing Style: First person, female POV. It was completely addictive. Heartwarming.
Character Development: Mia was pretty good. She annoyed at some points, but I got past that pretty quickly. Ansel was great. And despite of one attitude of him I really didn’t like, he was a great hero.
The supportive characters were pretty good and I can’t wait to read their stories.
Steam: Hot!!

Mia and her two besties, Harlow & Lola just graduated college and are off to Vegas to let loose & celebrate. But Mia's not the type of girl to just let it all go. Too much has happened in her past and the weight of the future she doesn't want to allow her to free, until she meets him.

Ansel is spending the last few days in Vegas before he has to head back to Paris and to his job as an attorney, one that does allow him much time for much else. Seeing Mia from across the crowded club, then knocking at his door was all it took to get this boy hooked.

Mia finds herself completely at ease in his presence, the stuttering is non-existent - she can talk to him and tell him things that she never thought she'd say out loud, especially to a perfect stranger. When she decides to be bold and for one night be the girl that would never let a chance with a guy like this slip away, she discovers that she ends up with far more than she ever imagined.

Screenshot_30

One drunken night in Vegas turns into so much more. She knows the responsible thing to do would be to go home, prepare for the life she knows she doesn't want - but the idea of summer in Paris with Ansel, what girl could say no to that?

"I want to love all my life as much as I love this night."

Screenshot_32

Sweet Filthy Boy was everything I wanted it to be. After coming of the success of the Beautiful Series I wasn't certain as to what to expect with their new series. But everything that I loved about their style was here. The trifecta of perfection, characters you love, a story that makes you swoon and writers that can make you laugh.

"I'll be honest, from the looks of my mouth, I sucked dick for a long time last night."

The way this duo writes these stories just amazes me. They hit the mark every time. The banter between the characters, the way the story line always remains clear - it just amazes me that this book, their stories come from two separate minds.

"You just implied you're banging me tonight."
His grin gets bigger as his hands snake around my waist.
Play your cards right."
"I forgot my cards."
His smile wilts dramatically.
"But I did bring my penis."
"I'll try not to break it this time."
"In fact, I think you should try your hardest."

There was a perfect balance to the lighthearted humor and the developing love story. The kind of love story where the characters have to work their way backwards from where they start to where they end. Falling in love with the idea of each other, without knowing one another. But knowing that the instant chemistry and the desire they feel is every bit real.

"With Ansel, I feel like my heartbeat is chasing his. I want to leave my fingerprints all over his neck and his lips. I want to suck on his skin, to see if it's as warm as it looks, and decide if I like what he was drinking by tasting it on his tongue. I want to have an entire conversation with him where I don't second-guess or struggle with a single word, and I want to take him back to the room with me and not use any words at all."

There was always this tone of a much deeper story lingering just beneath the surface. There was humor, there was sizzling play time scenes and even some heartfelt moments - but there was a bigger picture of realizing what you really want in life and not being afraid to take it. Sometimes people find that path on their own, but sometimes it takes just finding the right person to show it to you.

This was my first book by these authors, and I have to say I really enjoyed it! I liked Mia, but I'm completely in love with Ansel. Swoon. I loved everything about him. I think I have a weakness for hot, charismatic French guys:) I didn't blame Mia at all, one night with Ansel dirty whispering French phrases in my ear, and I would have followed him anywhere too. In fact, I'm not sure I've ever been this jealous of a fictional character. Explore Paris by day, have wild Sexcapades with Ansel at night? Sign me up!

I also have to point out that this is a book that deserves to have the word filthy in the title. These authors know how to write sex scenes and mix it up enough that it doesn't get boring, this book was off the charts hot. Ansel was so much more than that though, I loved that he was caring, thoughtful and supportive of Mia. He would say the sweetest things to her in French and English...did I mention that I love him?

I enjoyed the humor in the book too, especially Ansel's translation notes he would leave on the table for Mia:) I thought Mia's friends were funny also, so I'm looking forward to the next book in the series!

* Thanks for the rec Yasmine! :)

Mia is in Vegas with her friends and meets Ansel. He asks her to join him in Paris for the summer. Will Mia follow her sweet filthy boy?

Im gonna pretend I didnt read the first 25%.

Despite how they met, their connection grew on me and I really enjoyed the rest of the book. I was worried the sex scenes were meh to begin with, but then the sexy time got hotter and hotter. I liked sweet Ansel but he messed up big time and I havent fully forgiven him yet.

If you are a fan of the Beautiful Bastard series this book may be for you. It was full of sexy steam, a bit sweet n a bit funny. x

"I want to love all of my life as much as I love this night."

I always find myself enjoying the work of these ladies. Witty banter, lovable main and side characters, and interesting situations will always be present. A rare miss for me, I found this to be a pretty solid read.

Immediately after college graduation, Mia and her two best friends head to Las Vegas for some fun, boozing it up, and possibly a one-night stand.

Ansel is also taking a break from stresses of reality. He is spending time in Sin City, away from France with his two friends as well.

Mia and Ansel meet, then meet again, and again. During their second night, the six strangers whoop it up. Mia cannot get over how comfortable she feels around Ansel. She is able to open up to him in many ways. It's too bad most moments shared are a little fuzzy due to the alcohol.

Upon waking the next morning, Mia finds that not only is she incredibly hungover, but apparently she's now married, based on the gold ring adorning her finger.

Ansel wants to make this marriage work and offers Mia the chance to come to France for the summer before heading back to school and a life she's dreading. Mia is hesitant, but can't deny that there is amazing chemistry with her new husband.

 photo imagejpg3_zpsdfa8f0b7.jpg

I liked this one a lot. I'm glad the situation was done in a realistic manner. They didn't have a perfect relationship, and actually had quite a few hurdles to overcome. Although I'm glad everything wasn't roses and daisies, I do think the tone of the book did a 180, and threw me off a little.

The beginning was very light and fun. I had laugh out loud moments with some of the things the girls and even the guys said. The two main characters obviously clicked, and their repartee was freaking adorable and funny. I guess I was a little surprised when the mood got kind of depressing after them being in Paris. I was still engaged, but they kind of fizzled some of their personalities, which given the circumstances is understandable. Ansel is a lawyer and would work constantly, so he was always gone. I felt for Mia, being alone in a strange city by herself, and having the only person she knows be aloof with her. Did this remind anyone else of the last two episodes of Sex in the City? I had major Carrie flashbacks.

This also had a great heat-factor, and I loved how Mia got them back on track in the sex department. If it wasn't for some of the things that came out in the beginning, I would've thought this was all they had going for them. So yeah, sometimes I did feel their relationship was primarily sex-based. They eventually did find this certain kink worked in helping them learn more about one another, and ending up helping them in the long run.

Overall I had periods of loving to just liking. Both MC's were incredibly endearing, and you were rooting for them the whole time. Towards the end, I simultaneously agreed and was annoyed by decisions that were made. I thought the resolution to their conflict was a little rushed, but I was able to overlook it and didn't think it damaged the story.

A fan of Christina Lauren, I will be checking out the other books in this series.

4.5 FILTHY STARSSS!

These two women never disappoints, ever! I've been a big fan since BB came out and the excitement is still strong! I think this even made my fire bigger and more intense!

The entire story was beyond hilarious, for me. I can't actually put it down and people were giving me looks during my ride to school most times for giggling so hard. I actually don't know if I should laugh and giggle hard at the same time. My excitement jar is just.. overflowing with butterflies.

The hero, Ansel, the sweet and gorgeous filthy boy, is damn hot. I think if I would touch the man's skin, I could get a third-degree burn. Lol. Oh yeah, he's FRENCH alright? Dirty talking in French has never been this.. filthy. Who knew French-talking could be so hot. *fans self*

Okay. Ansel is the shit. My god. Can we stop talking about how hot he is? Alright.

You can't combine a sweet boy to a overthinker and expect a smooth flow, but when they're together.. the magnetic pull is just intense. In fact, they explode... in bed. I can't imagine something hotter than gripping the headboard so hard, your knuckles turns white. Plus the dirty french talk..

I wasn't expecting a drama, actually. The authors were more into 'oh what is this feeling, im so confused' thing as far as I can recall. Can you believe that this has yelling and crying, the works? Yes baby. There is. But don't worry. It doesn't cover half of the story. In fact, if I would do I pie chart, it'll be half-sex, 1/4 hilarious role-play, and 1/4 drama. *giggles*

Btw, can I just tell you that I'm not really a giggler? But Christina & Lauren could always make me giggle since Bennett & Chloe 'til now with Ansel & Mia. Damn. Im totally hooked.

Aherm. So I recommend this to all beautiful and die-hard fans of Beautiful Bastard! This new series is the shit! Cross my heart.

*PRE-REVIEW*
It has the word filthy on it plus its from the authors of BB, then I'm in!
