Margaret's latest book 'One More for the Kingdom?' has just been published - July 2017. She is also the author of the 'How do I know?' series and the BSBP series. All the profit from her writing goes to Tearfund - a Christian charity working in many parts of the world to release people from both material and spiritual poverty. To find out more about Tearfund check out their website - www.tearfund.org and to find out more about Margaret check out her website www.howdoiknowbooks.com

The 'How do I know?' series arose from a desire to answer the many questions that Margaret has been asked by friends about God. It also includes many questions she has had in her own mind over the years.

'How do I know I know God?' is the first book in this series. The purpose of this first book is to point you to the Lord Jesus Christ and Margaret's desire is that if you do not know Him then you should come to know Him personally. She would recommend therefore that you read the Bible - by far the best book of all! - but if you read any of the books in the 'How do I know?' series then her prayer is that these will generate in you a desire to seek God and get to know Him better.

The BSBP series (Bible Studies for Busy People) are for a specific group of people - those who have a real desire to study the Bible but find they simply do not have the time. Life can be so busy and whilst there are many very good Bible Studies and Commentaries available, these can be quite off-putting for very busy people.

Margaret is an experienced Speaker and is also an Accredited Speaker for Tearfund. She works for this charity on a voluntary basis. Margaret has a degree in Theology from London University and has a great love for the Bible.

I really, really appreciate this book. Although I pray to God every day, reading this has inspired me to spend more time doing it, and to be more intentional---how could I not when, as the book points out, prayer is the way to develop a relationship with Him? We spend time talking to people we value . . . the same goes for our Father in Heaven.

This book covers a wide range of questions and thoughts on prayer; I came across insights that I'd never really pondered before, such as when you pray, are you willing to be part of God's solution? And, if your prayers are based on God's Word, He will answer yes.

How Do I Know God Answers Prayer? is both a comfort and a challenge to read. It's great for any Christian who feels they need a better understanding of prayer or a rejuvenation in their prayer life. It certainly deepened my relationship with my Father.

Often I've questioned why God is silent and doesn't seem to be listening to my prayers. I've prayed often about it and found few answers until I was delighted to discover through Goodreads Giveaways a novel by Margaret Weston's entitled "How Do I Know God Answers Prayer".

The book took me on a journey and I learned "what prayer is, why we should pray, how we should pray, and when we should pray." At the end of her book Margaret Weston asks one simple question " will you pray?" And I found my heart shouting "yes".

Backed by biblical scripture and the example of men like Caleb, Daniel and Nehemiah whose prayers were effective because they pursued God, wanting to know him better, I experienced the joy of finally understanding what God's wants from me so my prayers will align with His will. In the end it's all about knowing God, passionately seeking him and listening. God is never silent and always present in our lives.

At the beginning of each chapter Margaret Weston uses conversational dialogue between two people which is so realistic I felt I was one of them, because much of the discussion included my own thoughts. For every Christian that wants their prayer time to be more meaningful I highly recommend this book and thank God and Margaret Weston that I had the privilege of reading it.

I am very happy to have won this book in a giveaway. I have always found prayer an intriguing and difficult (if not sore) subject. I needed a lot of answers. Did not expect any, so i am not disappointed. Books cannot give answers when it comes to spiritual subjects such as these, but they can provide useful advice and sometimes wisdom into who God is. (not factual knowledge that is).

The book is accessible and an easy read. It was interesting and continued to circle around the core subject: When you are in a relationship with God, you will find He answers prayer.
I needed more in-depth digging though, to be really moved. It's hard to move me, or any stone heart for that matter :). I am a philosophic thinker and this book is not written from a logical or philosophical standpoint. But that's okay.
The idea of a tiny human, trapped in time being in a relationship with the Creator of the Universe, the Eternal, who is outside of time, will always be something abstract, something beyond my grasp. It's comforting though that for some people this is possible apparently.

One day i will definitely venture to tread the path of prayer again. And this book was definitely encouraging me to that decision.
