-The Wishing Shelf Book Awards, 2016

Fall in love with the achingly beautiful story of Echo and Connor, supernaturally gifted teens, as they fight to live out their destiny together.

Echo had it all—she lived in a mansion in the wealthiest neighborhood and was a member of the Partychicks, the elite high school clique. But her enviable life was ripped apart when a bullying incident put her in a coma. When Echo wakes up, she's gained paranormal powers that she can't control.

Objects magically fly through the air. Lights flicker. Trees snap in half.
Echo's untamed abilities wreak havoc on her life, and she will do just about anything to get rid of them. Even if it means sharing her secret with Connor, the gorgeous, frightening stranger who appears out of thin air and possesses shocking supernatural abilities. He promises to teach her things beyond her wildest dreams—if Echo has the courage to trust him.

Soon, she is pulled into a world of mystical possibility and starts falling hard for the enigmatic Connor. As Echo uncovers the truth about him, she discovers a dark secret brewing within her city: people with paranormal gifts are being kidnapped and murdered. Escaping with Connor would keep Echo alive, but at a high cost to him and to the future they both believe in. Echo must choose between her love for Connor and her own safety, but she can't have both.

(Source: I received a digital copy of this book for free on a read-to-review basis. Thanks to author Skye Genaro.)

This was a YA paranormal/time-travel romance story about a girl with special powers.

Echo was an okay character and she seemed to really care about Connor.

The storyline in this was about Echo meeting Connor, and Connor teaching her how to use her special powers. We got quite a quick romance between Echo and Connor, and also some time travel which upped the stakes a bit. There were a couple of times where the book lost my interest a bit though.

The ending to this was okay, but it was clear that the story would continue in further books.

(I received a copy from the author, In exchange for an honest review.)

The main characters in this were okay, but I didn't love them.

I struggled to get into this to start with, but after a while it turned out to be an alright read. There were a couple of times where it started to struggle to keep my interest, and it still wasn't one that I loved, but it was an okay read overall.

Echo Across Time by Skye Genaro * 4 Stars * 11/15/2016

I received a digital copy of this book for free on in exchange of an honest review and this does not affect my opinion.

I liked this book a lot. Of course there is something here or there that I would change on this book. I think the romance was developed too fast and the person behind the murderers was somewhat predictable. But I loved the plot and totally felt a connection with the characters. I liked the plot development in general, the idea of not only having Echo, the main female character, struggling to develop her powers but also having Connor, the main male character , coming across time just put together some of my favorite subjects : powers and time traveling. But there is something different on this kind of time traveling, I don't want to spoil anyone , but it is not the usual if-i-change-the-past-i-will-alter-the-timeline thing. And that is something new for me. The writing style totally pleased me as it did the pace. I really didn't want to stop reading. I definitely recommend and will definitely read the sequel.

I'm giving this one a rating of 3. I loved this book, and though I had some teeny tiny problems with it, I definitely enjoyed this.

It was interesting about their powers and the future Portland. Like, who doesn't like to read about portals and flying for transportation? Basically, I like the world the author built up. But for the plot itself, it's nothing exciting. It is exciting at the end, but in most parts of the book, it was practically centered on the romance and drama.

For the characters, I thought that Echo and Connor were cute, and I loved their antics, especially that prank they pulled on Raquelle. I've grown to like them (and even the other characters, mostly those from the future), but I don't really care that much about them.

This was an enjoyable read, but if you were expecting action, you'd be disappointed as it's mostly romance and drama.

Thank you Skye Genaro for the opportunity to read your book. This was a good read. The characters in this story were okay. I thought their relationship progressed too fast. I thought they should not move too fast and take the time to be able to know more about each other. The book was a bit boring in the beginning, but picked up as I continued to read it. I wish that the read was less boring. I am curious to see how the next book turns out. Overall, an okay read.

R2R : Echo Across Time

I loved this book it was surprising and very enlightening at times. The characters are innocently engaging though the story is quiet slow it pack with necccessery informations along the way. The story will take you on rollercoaster of events. Can't wait for book 2 I need to know where this journey is going.

Very engaging, makes you want to keep reading to figure out what is going to happen. Only one complaint - I really hate stupid characters. How in the world did Echo not catch on that Mr. Solomon was the "bad guy"? I mean, come on! The author even made him physically ugly and creepy. Then she sees him going transparent and doesn't put together that he's from East Region until after he tells her?? Give me a break. Even an idiot would've figured out to RUN long before she did. In my opinion, if you're that dumb, you deserve what you get - survival of the fittest.

Wow. I guess I'm more mad about that than I thought...

I doubted between 3 and 4 stars for a while. The start was pretty slow, not a lot was happening to keep me interested. Also the main character her relationship lacked some depth. Her father for instance is a very vague part of the story.
About 3/4th in the book got more interesting making me want to read the next book. Because of that I still decided on 4 stars.

This is a familiar plot. Teenage girl starts experiencing unusual phenomena. She meets a handsome stranger, a teenage boy. They feel a strange attraction, he's mysterious, she doesn't know where he's from, there's danger....

And yet, even though I've seen this plot before, I did enjoy the book.

now i am hooked. This was such a great, easy and creative book. i was hooked after the first page.

The characters were easy to fall in love with and follow, along with the story. the author made the mental visions so easy and vivid of the surroundings and the characters actions felt so real.

i would highly recommend this author and this book.

My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 Unicorns - I really liked it!!!
***Received the ebook from the author for an honest review, but I bought it because I knew I had to have it especially for under a buck :)

The cover is really beautiful and magical looking :) Really draws my attention to it :)

Skye is awesome at painting this picture that makes everything seem possible, and you feel like you are right there. The creativity and story line in this book amazes me. I wish I had even a tiny bit of the creativity authors have to come up with such awesome stories. I think that this series is going to get better and better. I even went and bought the short stories that I haven’t read yet to go with the copy I bought of this one :) I eventually hope to get this book in paperback, so I can share with my awesome students :)

Okay Echo reminds me of a typical high school student trying to figure out who she is while also trying to fit in with her peers. And she doesn’t have the confidence in herself and her abilities like a true high school student. Trying to inspire confidence in my students is always one of the hardest things to accomplish, and it always breaks my heart when my kiddos don’t believe in themselves.

I’m still not sure what to think of Connor, and I really didn’t want the book to end where it did. I want to know what happens. It will be interesting to see if my imagination is taking me where the story is actually going :)

I recommend this story to all the dreamers out there especially if you believe in mind power. Well, I’m off to read a new adventure :)

Readers’ Comments
‘There were many thing in this book I enjoyed. I loved the romance between Echo and Connor. I also liked the writing style. So much happened but the author remembered to develop the characters. A lot of authors forget to do that.’ Girl, aged 15
‘A very well written and thoroughly enjoyable fantasy adventure. The story grips from the first paragraph and never lets you go. The standard of the writing was also excellent and the author shows she can handle a number of complex characters. The plot was twisty but not overly complicated and the ending was satisfying and cleverly sets up the story for the next book in the set.’ Female reader (editor), aged 45
‘Wow! What a super-cool book. I loved it.’ Boy, aged 14
‘I liked Echo very much. She was strong and determined but she could be a bit ‘mushy’ too. Sort of reminds me of the girl in The Hunger Games. I’d recommend this to any teenager.’ Girl, aged 15
‘Exciting cover and blurb. Fantastic story. Better than Twilight. Even the romance is better. I want to read the next.’ Boy, aged 13

‘A fun, teen novel packed full of paranormal powers and a sprinkling of romance. A BRONZE medal winner and highly recommended.’ The Wishing Shelf Book Awards

Won a copy from Good Reads First Reads
Wow where to start. First, my one & only complaint: I read this way too fast.
This book simply has it all. Echo is a teenage girl who upon recovering from an accident discovers she has supernatural abilities. Unfortunately she has not learned how to control them. Enter Connor, gorgeous stranger who appears out of thin air & tells Echo he can teach her about her powers. She only has to trust him.
Echo gets drawn into a mystical world & starts to discover that things are happening in her city, people with paranormal abilities are being kidnapped & murdered.
Echo is drawn to Connor but she must choose between her love for him & her own safety, but she can't have both.
I was totally drawn into this book & fully immersed in the story. Everything in this book was seamlessly put together, the storyline, the characters, the descriptions of things to help build a mental picture in my head as to how things would look, feel, sound.
It is going to be quite a wait to get to the next book in this series. I'll be anxiously awaiting the release date.
Thank you to Skye Genaro for my signed copy. I'm so glad I entered to win this book otherwise I don't want to wonder how long it would have taken me to discover such an awesome literary gem!!!

As a grownup—I probably shouldn’t like (and read) as many YA paranormal romance books as I do, but I just can’t resist plucky heroines with some sort of emerging supernatural abilities and the requisite hot boys that are there to protect and teach them. And “Echo Across Time” has all of that and more.
There is Echo with her new found telekinetic abilities that she can’t control, a gorgeous time traveling boy that she can’t help falling in love with, and a killer who targets people with psychic abilities. This book has all of the mystery, romance, and suspense that make books in this genre so much fun to read.
Richly imagined, with a premise that combines time travel, supernatural powers, a dystopian future and the very real issue of teen bullying- -“Echo Across Time” is a fantastic book. I highly recommend this book to all fans of young adult paranormal romance. I think you will love it.

I won this book on PRN Radio after listening to a podcast. This is the perfect YA novel. A young girl not happy with who she is falls head over heels with a popular, powerful, handsome boy. The twist to this story is Echo has powers that she hates, that is until Connor teaches her how to use them. Connor teaches Echo because he knows there are people after her. He wants her to be safe. He shows her his world which is her world in the future.
Becca is Echo's best friend. She believes that she has powers and makes potions. There are characters that you love to hate, just like in schools today.
I didn't like the way the story ends but understand why Skye ends the story in this particular spot in the story.
I usually finish a book much quicker, there were spots that didn't hold my attention or I really got angry at a character so I shut the book. I am hopeful that the second book will be a much faster pace.

I received this book free from Goodreads First reads in exchange for an honest review.
At the beginning if this book I was a bit confused, because the summary states that their was a bullying accident that begins all of Echo's abilities. Unfortunately it takes forever to find out what that incident was and when we finally do it was so toned down and I was a bit disappointed by the hype of it. Otherwise I really enjoyed this story, I liked both the paranormal and the mystery involved in this novel. I also enjoyed the romance/ friendship between our characters. I want to know what is happening to all the people with magical abilities. And I want to know where our characters relationship leads them now. I would recommend this book to paranormal lovers.

Genaro has blended the perfect amount of romance into the first installment of The Echo Saga. It balances out well with the paranormal activity throughout and fans of both genres will be extremely pleased. Our heroine, Echo is strong and has to ride a heck of a roller coaster ride in order to keep us bookworms satisfied. Many of us will be thankful for the author's talent portraying exact connections with the characters and a plot that's ever so unique. Entirely gripping from page one and right up till the grand finale. Book two cannot get here fast enough!

( I received a digital copy of this book. Thanks to Skye Genaro!!)

This was one of those just perfect captivating books with a perfect mixture of romance and paranormal. Just the sort of book for a paranormal fantasy lover ( which I most definitely am).

It was a lot of fun reading the book. The story is so well lay out and it is almost impossible to not fall in love with Connor and Echo. The names are good too. There's a lot of drama in the book which is very entertaining. And the heartbreaking ending has me intrigued to what awaits for me in the next book.

I would soon like to read the next book. Btw I would recommend this book to all paranormal fantasy lovers.
