A widow, Camille Young, wants nothing more but to have someone to call her own; with the right man of course. Just when she thinks she found him in Greg Langston – a smart, sexy, and brilliant attorney - who is very married and expecting his first child with his wife Michelle, their future gets put on hold. When things don’t go Camille's way as she hoped, the pain of her past resurfaces. Camille has a plan that will affect everyone around her. When Greg's wife is targeted, Greg turns to Camille for answers. Was this part of her plan?...Suddenly Greg finds himself in a situation with a woman who will stop at nothing to make him her own, even if it means destroying his family and her own life. Camille's entire world seems to unravel as she spirals out of control, not letting anything or anyone get in her way. Someone to Call My Own is a compelling story of lies, desperation and betrayal, and the consequences that follow when an encounter with the wrong woman has a man fighting to save the lives of the ones he love.

This is 4.5 stars. If it wasn't for the fact that there was too much explicit sex for my taste it would have been 5 stars.
The plot was enticing to me and I was eager to start reading this novel. The three main characters (Camille, Greg and Michelle) and two of the supporting characters (Ed and Nikki) each took turns to narrate the story from their personal perspective but this did not give cause for confusion because at the beginning of each chapter the name of the narrator appeared.
The plot lived up to expectation - I was not disappointed. My interest was held throughout. My only ever so tiny criticism is that I would have preferred a slightly different ending it was too abrupt but that could be because I was enjoying reading the story so much and wanted it to go on longer. I am glad I read this novel and if you are thinking of doing you should - you won't be disappointed. See what you think.
I look forward to reading more from Author Bianca Harrison.
This was a very captivating read. What is so good is how the author is able to include so many shocking events without losing the reader. Each time something transpired I found myself in shock as if to say "OMG more?", but she did it and did it well.
While the main character clearly had mental issues, a lot of the characteristics displayed by her as well as the supporting characters are very realistic and relatable. The title says it all. This is a story of a woman who just wants someone to call her own. Her insecurity mixed with her mental illness gets herself, her lover, his wife, and her best friend in a very crazy situation. If there's a part 2 coming, I'm here for it
What a rollercoaster of a ride! I won't give spoilers but let's just say you do not want to get on the wrong side of Camille! Great read I enjoyed it, Miss Bianca Harrison is definitely one to watch!
Absolutely a great read. Must say the up and coming author is on her way if she continues write the way that book read... Now is there a book 2.. hmmmm
The author writes a story that we all have heard a million times before. The thing is, Bianca Harrison doesn't pack any punches. She just tells it like it is as she takes you on a coaster ride that you can't seem to stop. The people you meet in the book could be you, your family, your friends, anyone you know. We're all out there. What are we? As the author says, some of the most dysfunctional people ever. The author writes about some very off the wall people.
The author writes in a woman, who is dangerous, a widow and isn't about to take any rejection from no one, no way. One off the wall, scary, dangerous woman. Anyone around her is in danger. Dysfunctional is her middle name. No one would want to enter into her mind. Plain scary. If she has to or even not, payback to anyone who crosses her is a b----.
Male readers may be tempted to cross the line. They think on it and have second thoughts. Friends and friends are looking at each other differently.
The author wrote a rather racy, but well written story. The author uses several view points of different characters. It can be confusing but the author has taken that confusion away.
This is a book that so many, actually too many, people can relate to. So much dysfunction in the world today. The bad thing is, it passes from generation to generation. It seems like there is no end to it all. Is there a break, a stopping point, where we as the dysfunctional can start to reverse this craziness?
I would recommend that you read this amazing, realistic book. It will awaken you. We all have some level of dysfunctuality in our gray matter. Don't let it take you over.
I was given a complimentary book SOMEONE TO CALL MY OWN from the author Bianca Harrison for my view of the book. No other compensation took place
Oh boy I’ve heard this story many times before but be warned, Bianca Harrison loses no time in telling it like it is while the reader hangs on for dear life as she takes you on a roller coaster ride with some of the most dysfunctional people you are ever likely to meet. There are some very twisted people in this story. I don’t want to spoil the story for readers, but the dangerous other woman, who previously wasn’t the other woman but is a widow, (figure that one out if you can), ain’t taking rejection from anyone. No-one is safe from her, she is one scary lady who sorts out a husband and a lover in way they never stopped to think about. You wouldn’t want to live in her headspace. Talk about pay back, you don’t know the half of it until you’ve read this book. Then there is her best friend’s husband and we have a right one here. Male readers who may feel tempted to stray will be having second thoughts and zipping their trouser snake securely in their pants. Friends may be looking at their friends with a jaundiced eye. Written from a variety of characters’ points of view, which can often be distracting, this very talented author manages to bring it all together in a raunchy, well written story that I found compelling and highly recommend to anyone wanting a by the seat of your pants experience.

This is a deeply emotional and moving read. The story of Camille, Greg, Michelle, Nikki and Mike, is the stuff relationship nightmares are made of. The story touches on every conceivable tragedy that could occur in a relationship. The three main characters, were caught up in a triangle that could only be classified as FATAL. If you liked, Fatal Attraction, you’ll love this book. The story is well-written and moves along at a good pace—I was able to finish it in one sitting. Prepare to be amazed!
I really enjoyed this book. I was engrossed from beginning to end. Camille is truly a mental case and beyond help. I hate to say it but I don't believe that Greg will ever truly be free to live his life in peace until she's six feet under. At first I thought Greg was reaping what he had sown but as Camille's craziness persisted I found myself feeling sorry for Greg but the true victims are Greg's wife and child. I hope Ms. Harrison intends to continue this story. I need closure. Great work Ms. Harrison!
The first thing appears to my mind after finish reading "Someone to Call My Own" is my ex. Well...to be honest, I was so attached with the story because there are so many similarity with my past life. But enough about me. Overall, I love reading this book because there are so many lessons of life I can get. I like Camille. I can tell that the author created the character based on personal experience (if not, then what a great imagination someone can be). "Someone to Call My Own" is the best book I read in this week. Thumbs up!
The author definitly knows how to captivate the reader immediately! I started the book today and finished it tonight. The plot started out really solid and interesting. It went from a very relatable plot to a very "this would never happen in real life" plot. It became too drawn out as well at the end. It started out great for me but lost it's fizz! However, it is a decent read for a beginning author!!!
I was confused while rating this book. Honestly, my rating for this book will be 4.5. "Someone to Call My Own," is a well written book. Less number of adjectives, short sentences, and quick descriptions make the reader feel comfortable while reading it.
The book didn't make me to wait for a long time to know the complete story. Simple writing, swift narration glued my eyeballs with the book.
The author did an excellent job with the descriptions of each character. The main character definitely needed help. I didn't like the fact that they killed their best friend, but it did put an interesting twist in the story. I hope there is a sequel that gives more details on the other characters in the book like Michelle, Greg, Ed, the detective, etc. Overall I really enjoyed this read and totally recommend it (to adults that is).
Loved this book by Bianca Harrison. It's a great introductory book for a new author. It is well written from the narration of three (for the most part) characters. This is generally a hard task for new authors but Bianca adjusted fine.
Definitely worth a read and I look forward to more books by Bianca Harrison.
This was another good read! I hate Nikki was blinded by love and friendship. Camille was one crazy chick and I don't think moving her will help Greg lol! Poor Michelle did alot of fighting and didn't even stick through her marriage. I understand why she did that though and commend her for going after her child. Loved it. Please tell me u are doing part 2 :) will definitely recommend!
Such a good book, kept me intrigued and wanting more. I couldn't put it down but knowing that I had to. Excellent storyline and all was brought together with a great ending.
this book was recommended to me and boy was it crazy. I was happy when that damn Camille got caught I was on edge with her craziness. Sad n happy at the same time how it ended.....Good Read!!!!
Love it . The drama, the secretes, and the love is crazy. That chick Camille is crazy. Love her ,love the way it ended. Definitely recommend this book to everyone. Great job
This book was crazy. Camille did not like being played by men and she was sadistic but never mess with a mother and her child. This was a great book and look forward to more from this author.
Its hard to feel bad for someone when they deliberately hurt other people knowing their actions were just wrong. This story was no exception. Greg was wrong for cheating on his pregnant wife Michelle, and when he tried to make things right his mistress goes Looney tunes crazy. Camille had issues from the start and as a successful lawyer, he should have seen past the big tits and booty. The events with the baby did not flow very well and the extra room thingy was not off.. How Michelle reacted to Greg's infidelity was just callous for two people so-called in love. The ending was off as well. I gave the story 3.5 stars out of 5..
