PERSONAL NOTE From the Author: As much as I enjoy writing, I love hearing from readers even more! It would mean the world to me if you would take a moment to send me an email and say hi. I personally answer all of my emails.
I was lucky enough to be chosen to read an advance copy of The Last Oracle and I don't even know what to say about this wonderful author and book, except she has done it again! The previous books took me less than 2 days to read and the final chapter in this trilogy is no exception! I found this series about 8 months ago and have fallen in love with this beautiful and captivating love story, and Delia's writing style. I haven't always been drawn to Greek mythology, but Delia has managed to turn me into an addict. She perfectly weaves the Greek we have all grown up hearing into her engaging story. The Last Oracle had me turning pages and begging to know what was going to happen. There is really something for everyone in this series. There is action and intrigue and also a love story that spans the ages with characters who will go through anything just to be with their soul mates. This is not one of those perfect love stories about rich people who have everything, but a story of actual life and the hurdles this beautiful couple has to go through to ultimately find each other, their family, and a life together. I am a lifer when it comes to being a fan of Delia's way of putting words on a page that makes you beg for more. I will read and would recommend anything she EVER puts on a page. There is a reason she is a best seller!
I strongly suggest you read The Sibylline Oracle, and The Symbolon before you tackle The Last Oracle. This series is full of adventure, love, loss and so much more. Alex must be on constant guard to protect Cassandra, now the mortal Valeria, from the wrath of Kristiana. The Fates and Hades seem to have a say in the outcome of the couple, as well. The thrills come a mile a minute with the creative and descriptive writing of Delia Colvin. I was completely drawn into this fantasy world of Titans, Ancient Gods, and Oracles. The question still remains… Who is the Last Oracle? I will not say here. You must find that out yourself by taking the journey thru the Sibylline Trilogy. Then maybe, just maybe, you will ask yourself is it a fantasy world created by the Author or is this a real reality? Hmmmmmm… I think I will bask in this totally believable reality she created for a little while longer.
The Last Oracle, a stunning finale in The Sibylline Trilogy....and what a finale!
We continue Alex and Valeria's epic love story as they battle evil forces to get to fulfill the ultimate promise made to them over 3000 years ago...an eternity together.
'The Family' and a host of new characters are back as Alex and Val literally go to Hell and back, fighting for their love and future. Even though Alex and Valeria are the main characters, you'll find your interest peaked as you get to know the others and their stories.
This book has something for everyone! Love, travel, action, drama, suspense, comedy, mythology, history, family and friendships, adventure, loads of excitement and even more passion!
I find Delia J. Colvin's writing style to be electric and breath of fresh air. I think it is so magical when an author can put words on a page, that when you read, they are so vivid that you actually FEEL and EXPERIENCE all that is going on. Feel the heart pounding love, the hitch of breath with excitement, the adrenalin etc The pages flow, and as is the same as the first two books in the trilogy, I found no flat spots.
I'll definitely be keeping my eye out for more from this exciting new author.
I was provided the pleasure of reading all three books in the trilogy. The first book was a little slow, but once I got the information I needed and started figuring it all out, I couldn’t read it fast enough (there is a lot to follow and I am not much of a “history” buff, nor a Greek mythology person so it took me slowing down to take it all in).
This was definitely a suspenseful love story. It reminded me of the Twilight series with the love, the leaving, the challenges; but with more of a mythological side to it.
I truly enjoyed reading all three books in the trilogy and felt even if I had not read the first prior one, you could pick up any in the trilogy and read it without being too lost (yes, you would miss some fun suspense, but in the overall scheme of things, you would be able to catch on to the actual story line without being in left field).
This trilogy is definitely one I recommend for others to read!
Disclosure: I received a free ebook copy of this book in exchange for my review. All opinions are 100% my own.
Another amazing story!! I was very luckily to get an adv copy (ok ok I pestered and begged!!) but it was all worth it. The first several chapters was full of suspense! It picks up right where book 2 left off with Valeria and Alex's journey to a happy ending. Luckily we didn't have to wait too long for the moment we've all been waiting for since the first book! For someone with asthma I had to use my inhaler a couple of times as I read the book...talk about emotional roller coaster!
Towards the middle of the book I started to notice that the story started reminding me of Twilight (sorry I loved the Twilight series) and was worried what direction it was going. But don't worry it's nothing like twilight, it's way better! I love seeing how each of the characters developed throughout each of the book, all of them getting their own endings.
Several times towards the ending of the book I thought it was the ending, with several jaw-dropping moment
I luckily was chosen to receive and advance copy in exchange for an honest review.
Like many people who have reviewed this book, I strongly suggest you read the first two books in the series (The Sibylline Oracle and The Symbolon). These two books really lay the foundation of the mythology and the relationship between Valeria and Alex. These two books are amazing in their own right, and I zipped through them in a few days.
The Last Oracle is no different, it is just as exciting and gripping as the previous two, if not more. It is an interesting take on Greek Mythology and is refreshing in its portrayal of romance. Unlike many e-books the are making rounds around Amazon, Kobo and iTunes, The Last Oracle and The Sibylline Trilogy in general focus more on the unconditional love, support, and trust inherent to a healthy and epic romance. While passion is still a part of the book, readers are not hit over the head with vivid (and usually tasteless) love scenes. instead we are given hints that serve as more validation of Alex and Valeria's passion than any sex scene could convey.
There were some aspects of this books that I was NOT expecting, which made the book that much more enjoyable. My only qualm is that the book's ending leaves ambiguity. I'm not going to give any spoilers, but as I understand, this is the last book in the series. However, the last page of the book abruptly drops a load on the reader and leaves no indication of resolution. Could be just me, but that load leaves a lot of story that could be explored.
I was lucky enough to be able to read an advanced copy of this book and for that, I am most thankful!! This entire series has been one of my most top favorites, and I read ALOT of books. Although I'll probably go into a deep depression because this book is the last in the series, I HIGHLY recommend this as a MUST READ. But before you do, please make sure you read book 1 and book 2, or you might be a tad bit lost. Delia did an amazing job with this book, I was extremely happy during parts of it, a nervous wreck during other parts, and bawling my eyes out in still other parts. Delia writes it in such a way that I felt I was there, I could picture everything that was happening. I also think Delia ended this trilogy in the very very best way possible. This entire series will have you hooked from the moment you start book 1, all the way through the very last page of book 3. I'm secretly hoping Delia decides to maybe add another book, or 2, or 3. Again, please read this book and tell all your friends about it. The story is amazing and I think you will make Delia one of your favorite authors, like she is mine.
This is certainly the masterpiece of the trilogy. I felt the emotions of the characters and the love that was poured into this story. Mrs. Colvin does a wonderful job at shaping her characters and develops them in a way that helps you feel as if you really KNOW them. The brilliant part of her writing is that even though you may know the characters, Mrs.Colvin also leaves room for you to let your imagination take you on the journey with them. The details were just enough to keep you guessing right up until the end. I also love the fact that Mrs. Colvin did not take away the mystery in the love scenes in the way many authors do. I felt that I was there with the characters throughout each experience. I will miss Alex and Valeria, but after 3000 years they deserve nothing more than what Mrs. Colvin gave them.
I loved how Delia made me really be able to see the characters and the places whether they were in present time or in the time of ancient Greece. As a Greek, I have always been fascinated by Greek mythology and I absolutely loved the movie "Clash of the Titans" and I read the Odyssey and the Iliad when I was younger.
That being said I felt like Delia really made me care about Valeria and Alex and all of their struggles in the past and the present. While the entire trilogy's love story wasn't all fairy tale material a lot of it was! I can't wait for you all to read these books! I mean come on you have to find out who the last Oracle is don't you???
This story and family have truly come to the forefront of my favorite literary characters. This story has made me laugh, cry, get anxious, heartbroken and feel so much joy....Delia has a way of making the reader truly experience everything that is going on, all of the suspense, fear, joy, and above all else....love. I would recommend this series to any and all who like a true adventure. This installment was well written and met all of not succeeded my expectations! Delia you've delivered another hit!
Through the twists and turns of their tumultuous love story we see into the life of the immortals and how hard it must be to never have an end in sight. It makes you take a look inside yourself as you contemplate having unlimited wealth and unlimited years coupled with a constant need to distrust your closest friends and family. I lucked out and scored an advanced copy of this book! It is amazing! You'll love it as much as I did!
I am hooked on the series already and couldn't wait to read the third book, I think you could read this as a stand alone book but you would be missing out on so much of this history between the sheer love between Alex and Valeria and the near death adventures they have had to go through to get to this point in the story.
What we have all been waiting for, the wedding of the soul partners Alex and Valeria, so much deserved after waiting an eternity to be finally together. Their love is filled with so much genuine warmth it wraps itself around you as you read their story. Yet tragedy hits with a cruel blow and more of the past comes to light, they find themselves having to confront their fears if they have any chance in the future. With help of and old friend, the first oracle Myrdd, they must trust his valued wisdom and fate. But that is not as simple as it sounds as Myrdd was beheaded so they first have to recover him as well as the other immortals to gain the strength on their side they so desperately need,
With Myrdd's guidance will they be able to defeat the jealousy and revenge that is against them? Is Valeria immortal and will she be able to outlive the curse held on her unable to live past her 27th birthday?
If you love romance against all the odds mixed with lots of mythology, then you will absolutely love this series but be warned you may keep telling yourself to read just a little bit more as you get carried away with the adventures. It did have me flicking back now and then, still getting used to fantasy and mythology, as I didn't want to miss out on one single thing.
The author then leaves us with another side of the story right at the end of the book, teasing us for more of this fast paced series and I cannot wait, love, love, love it!! Book 4 has just been released, so excited to get back into it all over again!!
I am so pleased that I was chosen as one of the reviewers for The Last Oracle. I do recommend that you read The Sibylline Oracle, and The Symbolon beforehand. I love the way that Delia writes because it is so clear what she is trying to get across even though it deals with mythologies. I have always been fascinated by Greek mythology in school and have watched lots of movies regarding it. I read the first two in the series fairly quickly and was not surprised that I was reading The Last Oracle just as quickly. This series is a page turner that has lots of adventure, some love, unfortunately some loss, and so much that entices the fascination to run wild.
Even though the love story in this one is not all butterflies and rainbows, I enjoyed it because it was real. It was something that you and I could have experienced with our significant other. I loved that they ultimately found themselves and made a family together. Alex must always be there to protect Cassandra. Their struggles in being together had me hanging on every written word that Delia had on the page. I am not a spoiler by any meaning of the word and so I will just tell you to read through the trilogy and experience for yourself what I have…and of course, find out who the Last Oracle is! Delia is an amazing author and has captivated me to an end that I can not explain here very well in writing. She left me breathless with this trilogy and so for that my rating is FIVE STARS!
This trilogy is a handbook for how to become SELF...how to shed immaturity, delve within, and grow into WOMANHOOD...The symbology abounds in this trilogy wrapped in the context of symbolons, Greek mythology, and a typical love story...What is atypical is the the trilogy itself is a reflexive guide. A handbook for feminine efficacy. The first book begins with the female hesitantly stepping outside her security of known...the second book delves into exploration...and the last book culminates the journey into being...This trilogy should become required reading in a semester length class for all girls. You could teach them every year until college graduation and never run out of themes for self fulfillment. How to look within, how fulfillment achieves such outward radiance that all others envy her beauty, etc etc etc I could go on forever...A MUST FOR ALL!!!!!
I was eagerly awaiting the last book of the Sibylline Trilogy and I was amazed by the powerful ending. Once again Delia delivered a book full of life. The book made me feel the joy, love and hardship of the main characters Val and Alex. It will transport you to a world full of adventure with a twist of Greek mythology . Purposely I did not disclose the nitty gritty of the book so each reader can discover, on their own, the joy of this story. I loved the book, but I highly recommend to read the first two books to get the full experience of the Sibylline Trilogy.
Delia Colvin does it again! Ms. Colvin's writing has the ability to transfer you into Alex and Valeria's reality. I was so engrossed with the book that I could hear the voices and see the locations and pictures as I was reading. There were laughter and tears (enough tears that my children asked what was wrong). It is not often that I re-read books, however, this is an exception. I will read and re-read just to make sure I didn't miss anything and for the sheer joy that the book gives. I look forward to more books written by Delia Colvin, I will be one of the first in to read.
I've been patiently awaiting the release of The Last Oracle for many weeks. I read the first 2 books in the trilogy twice! I was a Delia Colvin fan from the beginning. I was so excited to be chosen to receive an advance copy of the final book. Delia has a way of drawing you into the story and the characters as if you were involved personally. The grand finale was so emotionally charged, I was sad when it ended. Delia really did a phenomenal job blending modern day with Greek mythology. I can't wait to see what her next project will be!!
This has officially become my favorite series. The third book is by far my favorite as Valeria and Alex's love story ends. There is suspense and sadness but tons of passion and romance. It's an adult story which is nice since a lot of books start with the main charcters in high school or college. There's a ton if passion and romance but no smut, (I liked 50 shades but enough already). If you're a sucker for a great soulmate story then I highly reccomend this series.
Delia Colvin is exceptional! The last book of this trilogy does not disappoint in ANY way!
Love, lies, deception, and even death cannot keep Alex from his symbollon, Valeria. They are together, at last, after 3000 years, but there are forces trying to keep them apart. The plot takes so many twists and turns that you will need to fasten your seatbelts, and hold on, because it is one wild ride!
I hope this is not the last we see of Alex and Valeria - or members of their extended family!
This is the last book of a GREAT trilogy! I LOVE the ending! for the first time I read a book in which I wouldn't change anything in the end!!! The author does a wonderful job tying all the loose ends! The read is entertaining to the point of not putting it down so start early :) I HIGHLY recommend it!
I have one word for this book. Amazing!!!! Delia finishes the trilogy with a big bang!! There is never a dull moment and by the time you realize it's 4 am and you have finished the book. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves an epic love story mixed with nail biting action and Greek gods. What will Delia do next???
Delia did it again... Book three was just as amazing as the first two!! The beautifully, detailed writing had my mind whirling again, as the love story of Alex and Val continued.... A great ending to such a beautiful tale of true love and the power it can hold.
Delia Colvin is amazing in the way she wrote these wonderful stories that only left me wanting more! The fascinating hardship and love between Alex and Valeria kept me on the edge of my seat through the series and I can only hope Delia continues on with some of the other characters' stories!
Delia Colvin had me hooked since book one of the Sibylline Trilogy. I am a sucker for true love, and Alex and Valeria have one of the best, most time tested, undying love stories of all times. There's almost no comparison in terms of their epic love affair. I describe this trilogy to my friends as having the nice, easy charm and love appeal of Twilight (but certainly with better writing), but with the intelligence, wit, and intrigue of the Da Vinci Code. And after following Alex and Valeria's story for two books, and yearning with them to get their happy ending, they finally do in book three -- but not without a cost. Book three is definitely the meatiest and most intense in terms of Greek mythology and tying all of the strings and foundations she laid out in books 1 & 2 together. A host of new characters were introduced, or reintroduced, and so many questions are answered. I don't want to give the plot away (because I hate spoilers), but I will say that she did a beautiful job writing this book, and held me captive, at the edge of my seat, biting my nails, until the very end. It was one intense scene after another, one mystery to solve after another, one life in jeopardy after the other. And the coolest part is the end when secrets are revealed, people are not who you thought they were, and you just gotta fall in love with the hero of the day and the Last Oracle herself...whomever she may be...Excellent ending to an already amazing trilogy of love, intrigue, intelligence, and suspense. Delia is making a name for herself and I cannot wait to see what she comes up with next.
*disclaimer* I did copy-edit books 1 & 3 and am proofreading book 2 currently for Delia, however, I am writing this review on my own as a READER, which I am first and foremost and my role as editor did not influence my rating at all. Delia does not know I am posting this review, she has not paid me to post it, nor has she EVER asked me to do so. All opinions are my own, but I wanted to disclose this fact to be upfront and honest in my review. I read these books as a reader first, and that's how I fell in love with them, so thank you for considering my HONEST opinion about this 3rd novel.
It's with tremendous excitement, joy and relief that I can tell you that Book Three of The Sibylline Trilogy: The Last Oracle is now available in Kindle and Paperback!
Just over a year ago, I released my first novel, The Sibylline Oracle. Back then, it was terrifying to think of others reading my novels. But because of the beautiful readers that have encouraged and cheered for me (and Alex, Val and occasionally Paolo), it is with a heart full of gratitude, this has become the most thrilling and rewarding journey of my life! So THANK YOU for your incredible support and I hope you enjoy the final book of Val and Alex finding their future. Here are links to get your copy today!
I’m most grateful for the love and support of my wonderful cheerleader and symbolon, Randy. Special thanks to the phenomenal friends that have made significant contributions, either through their support and/or for braving the rough drafts as a beta reader.
Much love to all the wonderful people who have shined their bright light of friendship on the dull days when nothing seemed right. And my fantastic new friends and readers, whose exuberance and energy created the Delia Colvin and Readers Unite discussion board on Goodreads: Sherry, Rachel, April, Marling, Dawn, Kelly, Jessica, Rorie, Lesli, Shruti, and Kris. You are all just awesome! Tasha Brown, my brilliant cover designer, Colleen Albert, my amazing editor and the amazing bestselling author, Melissa Foster for her mentoring!
Also, special thanks to all the readers who have taken a chance on an unknown author and sent The Sibylline Trilogy into the Amazon Kindle bestseller lists! You all have changed my life in all the best ways!
Lastly, I hope you all enjoy the final book of The Sibylline Trilogy: The Last Oracle. And PLEASE don't forget to tell your friends! I LOVE connecting with new readers of the trilogy and making new friends.
Talk about a good book, a great series!! I was so lucky that I got to read the whole series, and didn't have to wait to read any of them. It really would've driven me crazy if I had started this series earlier and had to wait to read any of the other books. These books will take you on a roller coaster of emotions with loads of twists and turns and ups and downs.
Any book that causes an emotional reaction is a great book to me. Granted those emotions aren't always good ones but they will keep you reading and wanting more. Let's put it this way I read all 3 books in a little over 3 days. I had to force myself to put the books down to get other work done. Of course, it was kind of nice though because I haven't been feeling good the last couple of days. There is nothing better than snuggling down in bed with a good book when you aren't feeling well.
Delia Colvin is a great writer and I can't wait to see what else she writes. She is definitely one to watch. I have a feeling that will be seeing more of her in the future, and not just in books. I would bet that someone will pick up these books and want to make a couple of movies out of them. If I were you, I would pick up these books before they are hard to find (because everyone else is buying them up).
I received this book to review through Beck Valley Books Book Tours, all the opinions above are 100% my own.
I have a bittersweet relationship with this last book of The Sibylline Trilogy series: I'm so sad that this epic journey into the captivating world of the oracles has come to an end, yet I could not have asked for a better ending to a story that had my enthralled from the beginning. The Last Oracle had my heart swelling and eyes brimming with tears as I witnessed the unrelenting love between Alex & Valeria all the while clutching my imaginary pearls as they faced perils that could tear them apart forever. I was well pleased with the developments of existing beloved characters, the introduction of new endearing (and some not so endearing) characters, and the deeper dive into the mythology behind the immortals. Ms. Colvin does a masterful job weaving words together that ignite your imagination and awaken you senses so that you're transported to destinations that you only wish you can experience in reality. The Last Oracle does not disappoint as the finale to such an amazing adventure. Thank you, Delia, for "immortalizing" Alex & Valeria's story so I can journey with them again and again whenever I pick up these wonderful books!
What a great conclusion to this epic love story! This book as well as the other two has it all! Good battling evil, immortals, oracles, gods, 3000 year old eternal love, incredible family bonds and strong unwavering friendships. The characters are so well developed they became my friends over the last three books. I laughed with them, cried with them, and soooo wanted to go shopping with Camille. I loved the addition of Lita, she is a great woman and is such a great support to the family. The story is a Greek mythology love story with so many twist and turns it really shows the depths of Delia Colvin's writing style. She had me guessing at every turn of the page what was going to happen and the story became way more involved then I ever could have imagined. I don't want to give away any spoilers but I was really worried how the story would end for one character in particular and I have to say it ended it PERFECTLY!!!! Love love love this book. Love this series. Love love love this author. But I haven't had enough so bring on a book for for Genni!
It is hard to put into words how I feel about this trilogy, specifically "The Last Oracle." Ms. Colvin has effortlessly and seamlessly connected the world of Greek mythology (a personal favorite) with a modern, yet timeless, love story. You will feel all of the extremes of the emotional scale, from love, to anger, to sadness, to hopelessness and hopefulness, to surprise, to happiness and contentment. There are many twists in this story which will surprise you! I re-read the first two novels prior to reading an ARC of the final installment of the trilogy. I have been quite emotional throughout the reading, but am now so content and fulfilled. Thank-you for writing a timeless, epic story that will be forever close to my heart and at the tops of my lists! I absolutely LOVED this book and trilogy! Who knows? Maybe there is a possibility of more...I would love to continue to read about the Family.
