My Scripture Journal: Fearing the Lord

Rate this book
The goal of “My Scripture Journal” is to help you to grow deeper in your walk with Christ by reading the Bible and memorizing scripture. The scripture memorizing technique offered in “My Scripture Journal” has been proven to help others memorize scripture out of the Bible.

When we study the Bible we learn the tools needed in order to live a life that is pleasing to the Lord. God doesn't promise a life free from trials. However He has given us the tools we need to fight our battles through His word, the Bible. When we memorize scripture we automatically have the tools on hand that we need to get us through whatever life throws our way.

“My Scripture Journal” is designed to help you memorize scripture while also learning more about God through His word. This plan for reading and memorizing scripture is designed for those of us who have either a short attention span, or busy lives, in order to help incorporate God into our everyday life!

This scripture journal is set up where you will study one snippet of scripture per week. There will be seven different activities you will complete in order to help you memorize the scripture and get into the word, one activity per day of the week. At the end of the beginning of the next week we will move onto another scripture.

***** KINDLE is READING PLAN ONLY!*****

My Scripture Fearing the Lord originated as a paperback journal designed to help readers memorize scripture. This reading plan was put together for readers who prefer digital readers. The reading plan you will find in this eBook copy of My Scripture Fearing the Lord includes all scriptures studied, daily activities, and discussion questions found in the paperback version of My Scripture Fearing the Lord – the only thing that is not included is the space to journal and write your daily activities.

Hello, My name is Heather! I am a mom of three, married to a firefighter, and I am a writer. In 2005 I ventured into the online world to simply start an online community for moms. Little did I know the adventure God had in store for me. It has been a roller coaster with many ups and downs, but each step has led me to where I am today. I pray this is a place where you will find encouragement and maybe even a laugh or two. My heart is to share God’s word with you in a loving and practical way.

I'm always blessed by Heather Bixler's books. I really enjoyed getting to memorize verses on the fear of the Lord. It has been good to focus my mind on how great God is.

The first Sunday after reading Heather Bixler's My Scripture Journal: Fearing the Lord, my Sunday school teacher asked the class what our favorite scripture from Psalms was. I was blank and quickly flipped through the Bible hoping something would pop up. Then I remembered reading Heather's Journal. Week two was to memorize Psalm 32:8 and it came back to me.

I will instruct you and teach you about the direction you should go. I'll advise you and keep my eye on you. (CEB)

The goal of My Scripture Journal is to help us grow deeper in our walk with Christ by reading and memorizing the Bible. After an introduction, this short journal is divided into four lessons, one for each of four weeks. Each lesson contains a different scripture with instructions for each day of the week. Instructions such as journaling about the scripture, reading different versions, repetitions that help memory, and sharing with a friend. Each lesson ends with encouraging words followed by discussion questions.

This is so simple, yet it is quite effective. You can tell it is based on the author's experience, refined over time to work.

This is a great book that helps you do exactly what the above paragraph tells you. It encourages you to learn HIS Word and to fear Him in the proper way, according to Scriptures. Heather, I really enjoyed reading through this book...I will go back and actually add these wonderful scriptures and helpful ideas to my journal i started this new year of 2013!

There is no fluff....it is an easy guide to anyone who truly wants to memorize scripture and then apply them to their heart, mind, soul and life.To me it is more deep when it is simple.God made it very simple by sending His Son Christ Jesus to be our Savior!!! enough said there AMEN!?!
If you are a new Christian or someone who has been following Christ for a long time, this is a wonderful book to use as a format to help you begin a scripture journal. I have read many "journal-ling" books and I find the simpler the better.
I was blessed by this book and you will be too!!!
Yahweh, engulf Heather with Your Love, Grace and Peace all the days of her life.

Really, was disappointed, I thought it was going to be a totally different way, view on studying but not. Read the verse, then the chapter and write the scripture about 20 times and that's it.
