I had the perfect life; an awesome job in advertising, a gorgeous high rise apartment, and a flirtation with the guy down the hall. Then it all came crashing down. Two months later I was a cocktail waitress living in a tiny one bedroom apartment. I had also developed a serious ‘men suck’ attitude.
That all changed the night I met the beautiful and enigmatic Conner Savage. But there was just one little problem…he said he was a vampire. Figures a man that hot would be batshit crazy. Or so I thought. It didn't take me long to realize that Conner wasn't a nut job and that I was addicted to him. With every moment we spent together he drew me deeper into his world and the supernatural culture in which he lived.
Now I had a choice: the vampire I craved or a normal life. Couldn't be easier, right?

Enough lumberjack werebear smut for a while. Back to vampire smut for me. Away from bears in a trailer park, and on to vampires in mansions. It's like a whole new world. I'm branching out here.

Except grapefruit. Never try grapefruit. It's sour.

So, in this book we have Conner, the gorgeous vampire sex-god with a Scottish accent; and Donna, a human cocktail waitress that is the immediate love of his life. She's got special blood and maybe a special scent. She also has the ability to resist vampire-voodoo mind control. She's just so darn special.

Conner saves Donna's life from some dirt-bag humans, and then later from some dirt-bag vampires. Basically, everyone wants to kill Donna.

Strangely, I didn't find Donna all that annoying. And, I'm usually annoyed by everyone so that's saying something.
For once, there were a few realistic points that Donna makes. First off, she doesn't believe for a minute that Conner is a vampire. As a matter of fact, she thinks he needs to see a shrink because of his delusional state of mind. Secondly, she thinks he is moving way too fast in the relationship department, and then, when her life is in danger and he wants her to stay in a safe room she actually does the intelligent thing and does it. So, yeah, she didn't annoy me too much.

Hmm, so I guess Donna really is special.

The romance was decent, and the story was okay. I thought it dragged at a couple of points, and then it went really fast over some other things that could have had more page time. But, overall, it was entertaining enough. The set-up for the next couple happened at the end and that one seems to have more possibilities than this one. I might actually read it.

I’m incredibly late to this party and that I think was part of the problem. If I’d read this years ago when it was first released. I might have enjoyed it more. It’s just that I’ve read hundreds of vampire books and there’s nothing new or interesting here. This I appreciate is probably unfair since it’s nearly 7 years old. But this is my review and my opinion. So that’s all I can give.

It didn’t help that I didn’t like Donna at all. She drove me nuts. I didn’t like her friends either so I’m tapping out.

Donna was waitress with high ambitions and one day she sees a hot guy at work. Well, nothing weird about that, after all, working in a bar you see hot guys often.
But when she is attacked rig after work… that hot guy, Connor as she soon will find out, is the one who will save her.
And in that exact moment something will change with both of them.

description

But she soon finds out that is something wrong about him. Wrong as in… he’s a vampire.
And despite their feelings for each other, she have to realize how to live with their differences (such as she having a heartbeat and he not so much) and how to create something with a guy who is something that supposedly doesn't exist.

description

Let me get this straight: I’m not the biggest fan of vampire books. (You can call it the Twilight Saturation Effect or something like that). I enjoyed several of them but in overall I just find them all alike and very little original.
There’s just a few that I really loved (Right now I only can remember loving the ones by Suzanne Wright, the Deep in Your Veins Series), and well… I didn’t loved this one but I enjoyed it way more than I was expecting.
The characters were pretty good and it ended with a nice opening to the next one, which I’ll read for sure. ;)

“Trying to drool discreetly, I offered my hand. “Lovely to meet you, Mr. Leroux.” There, I remembered my manners. Full make-up and manners, my mother would be beyond proud.”

Oh. My. Gosh! Two words: Connor Savage. Need I say more? He is an absolutely perfect male lead and he definitely brought on the swoon-factor. Let me break it down for you:

1. He is a vampire (a delicious one at that)
2. He is Scottish, looks good in a kilt and will bring all your highlander fantasies to life
3. He is a badass alpha
4. He most certainly has a sweet side
5. And last, but definitely not least, he's very good between the sheets ;)

If that's not enough to make you want to read this book, I don't know what is!

Bite Me is the first book in the Bitten series which brings you all the vampire-y goodness! It follows Donna Perry who is a cocktail waitress with high hopes at returning to an advertising job after she was unfairly fired. One night, after work, she is attacked by a group of men who would have surely raped her if not for the mysterious stranger with piercing blue eyes who saved her life. One catch though, her mysterious knight in shining armour is obviously deluded with the belief that he is a vampire, at least that's what Donna thinks. Unable to deny her attraction, Donna agrees to go on a date with her mysterious saviour and finds out that he isn't lying about his sharp canines, desire for blood and centuries-old age. Donna is quickly thrown into a world of bloodsuckers and the only thing that can keep her from drowning is Connor, her very own vampire lover.

This book is so completely captivating! I never wanted to put it down! It was quick to get into, refreshing and definitely enjoyable" Bite Me was a quick and light read that had me laughing, swooning and grinning from ear to ear.

The one standout element of this book (aside from the hunky male lead) is the originality of the vampires portrayed in the novel. It was really refreshing to read something different when usually, most vampire books are very similar with their vampire portrayal. In this book, the vampires aren't your usual scary, killer creature of the night and were instead shown with so much humanity! They ate like normal people, they can go out in sunlight (although they prefer not to) and they have their own civilised customs and culture. Don't get me wrong, Connor was definitely badass and very intimidating when he wanted to be, but apart from that he didn't take on any of the awful vampire stereotypes that we see floating around.

“Oh bite me, fang boy,”

Donna is a fabulous character! She's strong, speaks her mind, is feisty and very sarcastic. I don't know what else I could ask for in a heroine! Her internal dialogue was great and her reactions to everything were so genuine. She reacted in a realistically hesitant way when finding out about vampires, instead of just jumping in to their world without a second thought. Every time I had concerns about their relationship moving way to fast, she would be thinking the same thing and talk to Connor about it, therefore removing any insta-love.

Their relationship was very fast moving, but it was also believable and so Insta-love was never an issue for me. Connor and Donna had amazing chemistry which practically sizzled off the page. They were also so cute and sweet with each other, making this book extremely entertaining.

My only (very slight) comment to make about the book is not finishing the book with Connor and Donna. After the conflict was over, we only got a brief moment with pair before the epilogue begin. I fully expected the epilogue to be based around them, but instead it introduced a new couple who the next book is about. I understand that this was needed for a smooth transition into the next book, I only wished we heard more about Connor and Donna as well as the new couple. Instead, the ending felt rather abrupt and unsatisfying.

“You are vibrant, honest, and real. You hold nothing back. That’s what I want from you. In my life, too many things must be held back or left unsaid. I’m disgusted with it. You are what life is made of and I want to feel alive again.”

Overall, I really loved this book and I was actually originally going to give it a five star rating. However, just before I started writing this review, I finished a book that was so spectacular that it blows all the books I've read in the last couple days out of the water. If I hadn't read that other book, I would surely rate this five stars.

*Let me warn you that this review is a little crude, hey at least I was nice and warned you.*

This is going to be my quick review. I just have to get this out before I sit down later on and do a longer review. But I have two words for you, fuck and kilt. Do you know that the author uses the word fuck or different variations of it in this book about 95 times? Yes I counted. 95 fucking times! I luv you C.C. Wood. That is my favorite and most used word in the English language. I know that damn sure doesn't make me a classy lady but fuck it. And the hot ass vampire put on a motherfucking kilt, a kilt. Yeah I may have came in my pants. That is all, now carry on folks.

P.S. I would like to add that this was a review that I did on my own. That is why there is a lot more cussing and plus I felt this book deserved it. In reviews I am asked to do, I am nice and don't cuss like this, much.

4.5 Conner stars

Oh my! Ok, this was a pleasant surprise!

I liked the opposite presentation of an alpha vamp Conner Savage who was actually the most humanly described character LOL and I loved that. It was quite refreshing!
Let me be clear, he was the badass menacing vamp when he had to be BUT through his actions towards the heroine Donna Perry, the girl he saves from the rape attack one coldish night, he acts in the most chivalrous way. She makes him feel again and he want her to know him as a person.

Awwww.... damn, that gut me, like deep!

I swoon over Conner, the dark haired/blue eyed cavalier/badass killer vamp.

whew, now that we got my drooling out of the way...

so, the story is filled with funny dialogues between Donna and Conner and that was the highlight of the book, well their dialogues in general, actually!!!
(well, along with the steamy sex scenes, i don't need to emphisize that, do i?)

Then the story got twisted with the actions of a jealous vamp bitch with hidden agenda of a large proportions and her devious plans include getting rid of Donna and Connor out of the equation...
then the shit hits the fan when the preparations for the Claiming(a huge deal for the vamps!) start and as the aftermath in the whole devious plotting Donna's life is at stakes, literally! And it's on Conner to take her life in his hands, literally!

I very much liked the story , it was passionate, light, sexy, funny with a twist, the only little remark I have on the rushed ending.

Modern day vampire who wears a kilt....YUM!

I really enjoyed Bite Me. It's been a while since a vampire paranormal has sucked me in as well as this one did. We first meet Donna who is a waitress working nights at a bar. She was previously an advertising executive, but lost her job when she accused her boss of embezzlement. I liked the fact that she moved on, worked hard and didn't have a "woe-is-me" mentality. She notices a very sexy man in the bar one night who later becomes her rescuer when she is attacked. Her rescuer is none other than...Conner Savage, smooth talking Scottish man, businessman and a vampire.

Conner's single minded determination to make Donna his made me smile. Unfortunately, Donna is a little hard to convince. We see a sizzling hot connection between the characters which gets stronger as they get to know each other. Donna hates that most of the myths and tales about vampires are not true and wants to know everything straight away. I loved reading Conner's frustration and Donna's stubbornness in getting her to follow the rules.

I know it's hard for authors to come up with new ideas, but I did drop a star because most of it I had read before in other stories. Don't know who wrote it first, but it still felt very formulaic. C.C. Wood does a wonderful job of making her characters real. This is the sort of story where I start to think....maybe it is all real?

Overall really enjoyed Bite Me and I will definitely be reading more in this series.

Connor and Donna

When Connor meets Donna she is working as a barmaid. Connor is a vampire and Donna is human. From the first encounter with Donna, he knows she is his other half. When he saves her from three attackers, she faints and Connor takes Donna to her apartment. Their relationship begins to grow even after Donna learns that Connor is a vampire. She doesn't tell her girlfriends (Ivie, Ricki, Kerry and Shannon) that she has a boyfriend, yet she doesn't want to be Connor's dirty little secret. Will Donna be able to escape when she is kidnapped by her old boss? Will Connor find her before something awful happens to her?

This novel was a good story but not the best. The characters are at most two dimensional. The plot was simple. The epilogue is a teaser for the next book. This novel contains adult language and explicit sex.

So, I started out with a 5-star rating for this right after I finished it, but brought it back down to a 4-star rating after thinking about it some more. I was just so excited to get a new paranormal read, that I may have been a little too star happy in my rating.
description

I decided to take it down to a solid 4-star rating because, while I did really enjoy it, there just seemed to be something missing from the story. A lot of things ended up being very anti-climatic .
description

The writing was good, but I would have liked more angst, sexy-time and story-building.
description

What I didn't like...
How easily Donna accepted that Conner was a vampire. She didn't freak out, at all. She went from thinking their date was kind of creepy and weird, to BAM! sexy-time.
See, there's an example of lack of story-building..or whatever.
So. Frustrating.

I also never got a good picture of what Donna was supposed to look like, or how old she was. About half-way through the book I figured out her hair color, and dress size...but, I think that's all. I had to go off of other peoples casting photos on goodreads to get a good image in my head. And I did not like their casting...(no offense to those people)
description

What I did like...
The story!
I love a good PNR and I was really craving this one, so it made me very happy when I was reading it.
I love the different twists the author put on the world of vampires and otherworldly beings.
I really enjoyed how well Donna and Conner fit together. Other than my complaint for their first date, I thought their relationship was lovely.
description
I loved Donna's personality too. The writing on her character (other than the lack of details about how she looked) were spot on. I loved her. She made me laugh and laugh...
Thumbs up on all of that!

Anyway, here are my castings for Donna and Conner...

Donna used to be an executive until she informed her company that her boss was cheating them. Then she got fired. Donna then had to get a job as a waitress. Their she sees Connor who sits in the corner by himself staring at her. That night, Donna is attacked by three men who Connor saves her from. Donna later finds out that Victor is 340 year old vampire. I was excited at this point. Even though Donna was annoying, I was willing to deal, but then it started not to work for me.

Donna could be annoying. ( Loc page 100). The behavior of Donna and her 5 BFFs was juvenile, obnoxious, and immature. Donna was supposed to be an ex-executive, but her behavior when she went out with her friends was gringe worthy. (Loc Page 71 - 72)
At times, too much unnecessary detail was given. (Loc page 68).

Insta-attraction, Insta-sex. They had sex on the second day. I think they would have sex the first night they met, but she was pretty beaten up by the attack, but I think it was more Victor, then Donna who stopped the sex from happening. The relationship felt rushed especially their "love".

You may love it. This is my opinion.

Bite me was a funny little gem. My understanding is that this author typically writes short serial novellas. This was her first full length novel at about 276 pages. For her first, this one was really good. It was fun and funny, it was sexy and romantic all at once. I really enjoyed the character development and the plot pacing was perfect. I was enthralled from page one.

This story is about Donna. She is an advertising agent who has recently lost her job. (More on that later) She has downsized her apartment and is working as a waitress in a bar. She is smart and beautiful and not a damsel in distress...yet.

Into her life walks Conner. He is a brooding and beautiful specimen of a man. His piecing blue eyes glow when he is angry...or horny. Hell yes! Oh, and ladies, he has a Scottish accent. HELLO! Panty melter!

So, back to the story, Conner walks into the bar, and all of the ladies swoon. Donna notices him but doesn't talk to him. Later that night, she gets an up close and personal view of his fangs as he rescues her from certain doom. *swoon*

Conner finds Donna very intriguing. There is just something about her that he knows he has to have. She seems to be resistant to his vampiric persuasion and she her blood virtually calls to him. Donna, she is reluctant. She has no idea who this guy is and he claims to be a vampire. She is quite certain he is delusional.

"Well, the voices of my hormones were telling me they didn’t care if he was crazy because he was beautiful and they wanted to ride him into the ground."- Donna

Eventually, she realizes that the chemistry is too overwhelming to ignore. She takes a chance...

And the sex was OUT OF THIS WORLD! So, they just have to do it again...right?
"Fucking hormones. They had no common sense."- Donna

Conner is sure that he has found his soul mate. He knows that they are meant to be together. This is a little fast for Donna. She likes him, but soul mates?

This is where things get interesting. Or at least more interesting. We are introduced to our villain, Marissa and her minion who also happens to be Donna's old boss and a total creeper.

Donna finds herself immersed in a plot to take over vampire kind and she is a pawn being used to maneuver Conner. She is in danger, so Conner of course goes all cave man protective and tries to hide her away. Because that always works...right? R-I-G-H-T...

Donna finds herself in a bit of a precarious situation. What ever is she to do...

Well, she never did loose her snarky sense of humor.

"Marissa was still sour-faced and in a foul temper, but even her raging case of cuntitis couldn’t dampen our mood. "

Marissa, you are going down!

I don't want to give too much away other than to say that this is a single book that starts out wonderfully and comes to a close with no loose ends to tie up, unless you count Conner's friend...who has his sights set on Donna's friend Ivie.

I absolutely adore this writing style. I am very much looking forward to more from C.C. Wood. This was a fun read that I could not put down. I LOVED Conner and Donna was so damn funny. She was a freaking riot. Her friends were also absolutely hilarious and beyond loyal. There were not too many action scenes nor was there constant sex. The highlight of this book was the burgeoning relationship between the two main characters. Now, that is not to say that the sex wasn't hot. Because it was, like seriously hot. And that is not to say that the action wasn't good, because it was stellar.

C.C., I'll be looking forward to your next one! Well done!

This was just ok for me. In general, I found the book to be pretty boring. Most of it was a woman dating a vampire, basically in denial that he was a vampire. And by dating, I mean mostly booty calls or hanging at her apartment. There was not a lot going on until the very end. Heroine sis a commitment-phobe - but I have no clue why. Hero says she is his soulmate - but he does not act like it to me.

This was heroine only POV (which I really dislike) so I had no real understanding of the Hero. Don't know anything about his background. Past loves, past life. I heard him, but I did not feel him. We got very little insight into his vampire world until the end and that felt very cursory.

I did not like her friends so I am not reading their books.

This is kind of like Twilight with erotica. Donna grappled with the decision of when she becomes a vampire seeing her family and friends become older while she stays young and she will eventually have to move on. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

Read more of my reviews and ramblings at Ana's Attic Book Blog

C.C. Wood has written four fun, sexy novellas. I loved them all. So when she told me she was writing a full length vampire novel, honestly, at first I was disappointed. I have barely read any paranormal romance in the last 2 years, and was nervous I wouldn't get into it. Luckily, CC used her signature snarky humor, and wrote Bite Me" target="_blank">Bite Me as a more "paranormal light" book, and I loved it so hard.

Here's the difference. Some paranormal books have an entire new world you have to learn about, and some are a little more mainstream, where our world hasn't changed, but we find out that vampires are secretly living among us. I enjoy the second type much more. Building a whole new world is very difficult, making some paranormal series much harder to get into. I had no such issue with Bite Me. In fact, it came at a time when all the books I was reading started to run together, and I was struggling to find something different. Bite Me hit the spot perfectly.

If you are hesitant in trying a paranormal book, I must remind you, there is something so sexy about being with a guy that can break you in half but would never...someone who bites, and that bite is sheer ecstasy. See my post from when I first started blogging: The link between BDSM and Vampires.

I must preface this review, in all fairness, by saying that C.C. is a good friend of mine. In fact, I have been written into this book (with my real name). I am trying my hardest to be as impartial as possible, and I may be going overboard in my efforts to combat that, like when my sister was my counselor at camp and was meaner to me than everyone so it wouldn't look like she was favoring me.
"He was beautiful, beyond beautiful. His hair was dark and long, almost to his shoulders. The bones of his face looked as though they had been sculpted by a master. His high cheekbones and strong jawline should have been considered works of art. However, it was his eyes, those piercing blue eyes that I couldn't look away from. I felt pinned."

Donna had a great job in advertising, but when she discovered her boss embezzling she was fired and blackballed in the industry. She is now forced to work as a cocktail waitress. While working, Donna spots the gorgeous man in the shadowy corner booth, but he disappears while she is serving some guys who can't stop ogling her chest. When she leaves late that night, the same three guys are waiting for her. Fighting them off with everything she has, Donna is rescued by the beautiful, shadowy stranger who snaps their necks like it's nothing.
"It was the gorgeous stranger I had noticed earlier. He looked feral and dangerous and, if it was possible, sexier than before."

She sees evidence of vampirism, but refuses to believe what she sees. She can't help the magnetic pull she feels towards him. Thinking he used mind control, Donna tries to deny her attraction.
"Then why did I just kiss you? I would never do something like that without being coerced."...
"I believe it's called chemistry, not coercion."...
He wrapped an arm around my lower back and my hips connected with his. I felt what had to be a vampire penis poking me in the belly. Oh hell, no way was I playing sink the salami with a creature that would sink fangs into me too.

Donna's real and snarky attitude, and that of her friends are one of my favorite features of Bite Me. This was just one of the lines that made me giggle, but this isn't a comedy book, there is just some nice, light, funny moments.
Waking up black and blue after what the three guys did to her, Donna hid out for a day of recovery and couldn't help but think about him.
"I dreamed about bright blue eyes and a beautiful vampire who held me as though I was made of glass."

When Conner Savage (the vampire) shows up at her work to check on her the following day, those feelings are still there. And he is feeling the pull too.
"You make me feel human for the first time in a long time"

Despite the fact that Donna doesn't really want to believe he is a vampire, and thinks he might be a nut, she agrees to go on a date with him to one of the most exclusive restaurants in town. When he finally has her convinced he is a vampire, it was fun to read how he debunked all of the silly vampire myths. Then, as he politely kisses her goodnight...it became not so polite.

Bite Me CC Wood

Did I mention Conner has a Scottish accent? That and the fact that he is mind-blowingly amazing in bed (300 years of experience!), and treated Donna better than any other guy made Conner dangerous for her. Dangerous for her heart.
Even after an amazing sex scene, C.C. made the book so much better when Donna went out for GNO with her friends. I love books with a group of girls you want to hang with. Bite Me has a totally silly and fun group of girls that you can clearly see love each other. All these girls are familiar to me...and one scene was borrowed from Wicked Book Weekend!

1011829_288001571343074_686820108_n

(See the scene in it's entirety the way it really happened {with goats!} here)

Then she goes back to be with Conner, and when she playfully makes him chase her, she sets off all of his animal instincts.

"Put your hands behind your head, bend your knees and spread your legs."
Even though we had been lovers for a couple of weeks, I hesitated.
"Do it now, Donna"
I brought my other hand behind my head and laced my fingers together. I bent my knees and moved my feet apart.
"Wider," Conner growled.

So I was just like this while reading:
Spider-Hump
Added to the hot sex and the great girlfriends, we have danger. MAJOR danger, with a big climactic scene. I love a little action (besides the bedroom type) in my books.
Bite Me was the perfect blend of hot sexiness, fun snarkiness, and dangerous situations. It reminded me of 2 of my favorite paranormal authors, Jeaniene Frost, or Lynsay Sands, who both write funny, sexy, exciting vampire books.

Likes:

-I love the girlfriends!
-Conner was so yummy and alpha.
-C.C. knows how to write sex!
-I loved to hate Marissa, with the head to big for her body, and Vanessa in all her cuntiness.
-Tons of funny lines, but the book itself was romantic, hot and dangerous too.
-Donna's snarky personality and her love for Highlanders were fun (and familiar!)
-Bite Me was 'vampire light', you don't have to like paranormal to enjoy this campy story.
-A nice change from the books I've been reading lately.
-No cliffhanger, Bite Me can stand alone, but luckily each of the girls get their own story.
-I read the whole thing straight through and loved it the whole way.
-Great set-up for future books. The epilogue set up the next book so well, that I can't wait to read it!

Dislikes:

-No condom discussion. How would Donna know she wasn't going to get some vampy disease?
-As much as I enjoyed this book, and it was unique to what I am reading nowadays, there was nothing truly unique about Bite Me compared to some other paranormal books I have read in the past. Vampires are always fighting for power...there was nothing new or different about the vampire society in this book. But on the other end, it was nice to not have to learn too many new rules for a society.
-I would have liked another 40-50 pages that let us get to know the characters more. As hot as Conner was, I didn't 100% fall in love with him, or Donna. I just didn't know them well enough to truly connect and fall head over heels for them.

Rating: Solid 4.5 stars (might be even higher if you are new to paranormal) 4.5 Heat.

I read Bite Me in one day. It was a quick, fun romp into the paranormal and had everything I love in a book. Sex, fun friends, romance, alpha guy, banter and some danger. It was such a pleasure to read something different for a change. The books I have been reading lately, as much as I loved them all, were starting to mix together in my head with a lot of similar themes. Bite Me stood alone like a unique breath of fresh air.  I read the whole thing smiling to myself, and the epilogue has me drooling for the next in the series, Ivie's book. I'm gonna love that one.

3.5 stars!

Can't say that book was bad, but there were some things missing and some parts that I didn't love.

The book start when Donna, our heroine , is attacked after job. Don't worry ladies, because there is a man to save her! How big surprise is that!!

That, very hot man is Conner Savage. And he is vampire. Oh, I can't forget how he just looked at Donna, and in that moment he knows that she is for him. His life. His soul mate. His everything.

I will be a honest and say that I could forget about that part. Even in my ''love-it!'' list there is probably books which are similar to this story.

The thing I wasn't able to forget is that I didn't connect with any character. Any!
This is a book. The part of every book is to connect with characters. To get emotional in good or bad way. But, in this one that wasn't case.

It would probably get really bad rating if book didn't have next element:
We don't have to wait long to see them together.

The thing that annoys me more and more in new books is that there is always someone chasing another one. And that stupid second person is running almost all book. I mean people just:

I can read books pretty fast, so it happens sometimes that I just forget what is happening in which books. That is, if book wasn't memorable enough. If there wasn't something original.

This book probably would be one of them if there wasn't one fact- vampire in kilt. How can girl resist to that??

I really enjoyed this story!
Don't get me wrong because I'm a HUGE fan of C.C. Woods, I just haven't had the chance to read her paranormal-romance work... until now *hangs head in shame*.
Now I'm hooked!

I looooved Connor and Donna!

Conner is sophisticated, smart, damper, beautiful.. and a Scottish Vampire (who's accent gets really thick when he's angry or horny, which turns Donna on.. which turns out to be a win-win in the end for the both of them)

Donna is sassy, smart, independent, and kick-ass. She says F*&K often and appropriately.
I LOVED her!

Their story was fun to read, the writing great, and once again Ms. Wood's characters were colorful, loyal, intelligent, and sassy.

I can't wait to read the next book in the series Once Bitten, Twice Shy which I'm going to start right now!

I could not wait to get my hands on this book and I was not disappointed! I loved that it was not the basic vampire book we all too often read.

"Here I was inviting him to sink deeper into his delusion, but if he honestly wanted me to believe he was a vampire, he was going to have to jump through some major hoops to prove it. Oh, who the hell was I kidding? If he was really a vampire, I didn’t know if I would be scared to death or think it was the coolest thing ever."

I read Bite Me pretty quickly once I was able to start it. I loved all the banter with Conner and between the girlfriends. The suspense at some areas. If your a new paranormal reader or a paranormal lover I would think both would enjoy this book.

I can’t wait for book 2!

The blurb of this had me excited but whilst the story was ok and the romance nice enough I guess, it just didn't have me potently engaged. At times things felt a tad slow and then there were times when things needed more fleshing out. Overall not the exciting vampire romance I was hoping for.

Laught-Out-Loud Hilarity & Sexy Hot Alpha-Male-Vampire.

Yes, I'll have one of those. Bite me is just what you need to sink your teeth into. This is one of the funniest books that I've read in a while. It's not your "typical" vampire books, it's a completely different twist on the paranormal world of vampires and more.

Donna Perry: Sassy, smart-ass, sarcastic, sexy spitfire. Her witty thoughts and direct attitude is something I thoroughly enjoyed. She had me laughing out loud throughout the entire book. I love a strong heroine who has a bit of an attitude and isn't afraid to speak her mind. A refreshingly funny heroine who is comfortable in her own skin.

"He wrapped an arm around my lower back and my hips connected with his. I felt what had to be a vampire penis poking me in the belly. Oh hell, no way was I playing sink the salami with a creature that would want to sink fangs into me too"

Conner Savage: Scottish (yes an accent), alpha-male, sexy and let's not forget, Vampire. Conner knew he wanted Donna from the moment he laid his eyes on her. He's dominating yet sweet at the same time. The lust factor for me was off the charts fanning myself over Conner.

"You are more valuable to me thatn my own desires. If I have to keep you here against your will and watch you walk away when it's over, I will. Whatever it takes, Donna, I will do it. My heart belongs to you and anything that would harm you will harm me."

Uh, hello? Totally swoon worthy.

This is the first book of a series and I cannot wait for the next installment and see where we go from here. I'm really excited for more yummy goodness to come with the books to come.

I was given an ARC by the author CC Wood. I also would like to note that my name is used as one of the main character's best friends, however, that has not affected my review.

Bite Me was one of the best vampire books I have ever read! After so many during the vamp hype I thought I'd read all there was about them. However, Ms. Wood gives a fresh take to the genre.

The story is about Donna, a former ad exec, who was fired for discovering her boss was doing illegal things to cover it up and then blackballed in the advertising community. To make ends meet, she now works at a lounge and encounters a Conner, a mysterious man with a slight Scottish accent and the most striking blue eyes.

That night after work, Donna is attacked by three drunk customers in the parking lot and who comes to her rescue but the gorgeous Conner who kills the men instantly and Donna see fangs from his mouth.

Donna and Conner then begin a hot and sexy romance as he slowly explains vampire culture in the modern day. However one vampire in particular Vanessa wants Conner and will do anything to have him in her corner including destroying Donna.

Donna also has four best friends that are more like sisters: Ivie, Shannon, Kerry, & Ricki, and when the five of them get together all hell breaks loose (think lot of alcohol and goat screams). Ms. Wood's plan is to make Bitten a series with each girl getting their own book.

Wow. Where do I even begin? I loved this story.

This is not like any vampire story you might have read. C.C. puts her own spin on the mythology of vampires which I liked - a lot. You will just have to read it to see what I mean. ;-)

This story is about Donna and Conner. I'll try to do my best without spoiling anything good.
Donna is working as a waitress in a bar after being fired from her advertising job. One night she runs into a little trouble with some customers after closing and Conner comes to her rescue. At first she doesn't believe that he is a vampire, that he is some nut job claiming to be a vamp. She does agree to go out with him against her better judgment, and that (in MHO) is the best decision she makes. :-) They begin a relationship that is sweet and honest. She is smart, a wiseass (kinda like myself in ways), and relatable. Donna is a strong character - not a whiny heroine. Conner. Wow. I wish I had a Conner in my life - human or Vampire.

Honestly - you need to read this book. I don't want to go too much into it because I think you need to experience it for yourself. C.C. finds a way to mix in some humor into the storyline along with some mild drama but its nothing that will make you want to run away frustrated. I'm already looking forward to more to come.

You won't be sorry if you read this book.

I received this book from the author for my honest review.

C.C. Wood does it again! Bite Me, C.C.'s newest venture into paranormal romance, reads like Rock Chick meets Dracula.

Previous advertising executive, Donna, now works as a cocktail waitress at a local lounge. Therein she meets Conner, a beautiful stranger and hottie. Through a series of unfortunate events Donna and Conner get to know one another on a more personal level. Due to her very independent nature, Donna wants to deny her attraction from the very beginning. But Conner hits the nail on its head when he says, "I believe it's called chemistry, not coercion," when he speaks about their first kiss. His attraction? Donna makes this sexy Highlander feel human for the first time in centuries.

Throw in a jealous and power hungry female vampire, a few hilarious friends, Donna's psychotic ex-boss and you have the ingredients for a great read! This book combines romance and a hot immortal Highlander with the added elements of mystery and suspense. I had a hard time putting this book down when real life was calling my name.

I found myself laughing out loud on several occasions and having to explain what was so funny to my hubby. Bite Me introduces Donna's friends and a few of Conner's. Book two will be about Ivie and the ancient vampire, Alexander. I cannot wait to read Book Two in the new Bitten series by the lovely Mrs. Wood!

*WARNING THIS TEXT MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS*

This was a super good book!!!!!

So Ivie and Conner are officially my DREAM couple!!!
They were just so cute! I like this book because I find its a mixture of light romance and BDSM all in one novel.
In some scenes, Ivie is begging for more, and Conner won't give it to her, because he's afraid hell hurt her.
Were as, in others, Conner and Ivie are having hardcore rough sex, cause Ivie almost hurt herself >-<
I find this book sweet, but venoms at the same time. I think that many people would enjoy it and not enjoy it for different reasons. But its also free! So that's another good thing about it!
I loved this book and I think you guys will too.

I thought this story was going to be another vampire falls in love for a human but I have to say it was more. The author got creative with this story and changed a few vampire myths. I like how it was done and it works for me. I loved hot vampy Connor and kick-ass, feisty Donna. They were were a great couple. Donna was an even match for Connor. She made sure she keep him on his toes and Connor surprised Donna with how different he was from other men. Both characters learn so much from each other I this book a D I can't wait to see what's going to happen in the next books and how the author is to improve this series. This book was fun, loving, and even a little bit of adrenaline too.
The only bad thing I have to say about this book is that real life got in the way of my reading :)

There were some really good points about this book but overall I was not that into it and it took me way longer than expected to read it.
It was a well rounded book but some parts were a bit uncomprehensible to me.
