HOW TO MISBEHAVE

What woman can resist a hot man in a hard hat? As program director for the Camelot Community Center, Amber Clark knows how to keep her cool. That is, until a sudden tornado warning forces her to take shelter in a dark basement with building contractor Tony Mazzara, a hunk of a man whose sex appeal green-lights her every fantasy. With a voice that would melt chocolate, he asks her if she is okay. Now she’s hot all over and wondering: How does a girl make a move?

ALONG CAME TROUBLE

An accomplished lawyer and driven single mother, Ellen Callahan isn’t looking for any help. So when her brother, an international pop star, hires a security guard for her, Ellen’s more than a little peeved—until the tanned and toned Caleb Clark shows up at her door. Back home after a deployment in Iraq and looking for work, Caleb expected this job to be a breeze. But guarding the willful beauty—and resisting the temptation to mix business with pleasure—is harder than he ever imagined.

FLIRTING WITH DISASTER

Fresh out of a fiasco of a marriage, Katie Clark is hell-bent on kicking butt in her new job at her brother’s security firm. But on her first assignment, Katie must endure the silent treatment from a stern but sexy partner who doesn’t want her company. Sean Owens knows that if he opens his mouth, Katie will remember him as the geek who sat behind her in high school. If only Sean can take control of his decade-old crush, they just might make a perfect team—on the road, on the job, and in bed.

MAKING IT LAST

A hotel bar. A sexy stranger. A night of passion. There’s a part of Amber Mazzara that wants one moment when life isn’t a complicated tangle of house and kids and careers. Then, after an exhausting “vacation” with her family, she receives a surprise gift: a few days on the beach . . . alone. But she won’t be alone for long, because a handsome man just bought her a drink. He’s cool, he’s confident, and he wants to take Amber to bed for days. Lucky for them both, he’s her husband.

I've only recently found Ruthie Knox through her serialized "Roman Holiday" books, and I've been devouring everything she's written. Ms Knox takes a different approach to romance. Her heroes are not necessarily "damaged" (as in traumatized), but have serious faults other romance writers wouldn't touch with a barge pole. Sean of Flirting with Disaster is really hot, but he stutters to the point he can't utter Katie's name plus he's a total geek, and Tony of How to Misbehave and Making it Last faces serious financial struggles. To me, these hero qualities and the way they mesh with the character development and the plot bring the books closer to chick-lit than romance which is okay by me, but other readers might feel they're not getting what they bargained for. The generic covers in my opinion, play up only one aspect of books that have a lot more to give than hot sex. Ms Knox really knows her stuff. All books are extremely readable, scorching hot and crazy emotional. The last book, Making it Last, sells itself short, branded as a romance novella. This is a must read book for every married woman who feels her "wifeliness" along with motherhood have stolen her true essence. This is Ruthie Knox at her best. It was so real it made me cry. If you're willing to delve into less polished characters but with real substance that hits close to home, you found your next read. Oh, and did I mention the heat level is out of this world?

Ruthie Knox is amazing. I'll read anything by her. But I have to say that some of these books were disappointing. How to Misbehave, with the eldest Clark child--Amber, was fine, but not that special. Then Along Came Trouble with Caleb Clark was fine, but not that special. Then Flirting With Disaster-- with the youngest Clark-- Katie, was kind of annoying. I was starting to wonder if these were early works that she had been practicing her craft on. But then I hit Making it Last and I was floored by the usual Ruthie Knox bravura and complexity. The return to Amber and Tony ten years into their marriage was amazing-- their marriage and their characters were very well developed and Knox didn't flinch from any of their problems, or from their solutions even (like the strange flirtation they go through pretending to be strangers meeting for the first time). It shows off Knox's skills with psychological depth and her fearlessness at putting her characters in awkward, but very real situations. That book alone is worth the whole volume.

I am a huge fan of Ruthie Knox. She writes so smart and funny and I have yet to read anything by her that hasn't kept me up reading past my bedtime.

Don't judge a book by its cover. I waited to read this series because I did in fact do that. Don't be like me.

Ruthie Knox writes quality romance novels. They are equally smart, sexy, funny and beautiful. She's one of the best ones out there. Her writing is just that good

My favorite was the last one (Making It Last) but I enjoyed them all. They seemed like books about real people, which was so great.

I really like the sibling series that a lot of authors seem to be doing and the Camelot series was no exception. The first thing is that its based out of a small town in Ohio, and I am from Ohio and this particular state gets a bad rap for stupid things and its nice to read something not based somewhere more "stylish" or a "two horse town". Second, I love the siblings Caleb is freaking hot as can be, but really they are normal and their love interests are a bit screwed up but not too screwed up. My favorite part was the novella on Tony and Amber, this story was refreshing cause its not about some young hot chick or some screwed up millionaire its about two people who love each other but their marriage has hit that point. The emotions that Amber and Tony experience are familiar throughout the book, and its nice to see a marriage repaired because that love and bond first experienced is still there willing to work at it.

Holy cow, that last novella. I found Ruthie Knox after reading a interview with a local author I really like (Alice Clayton). Clayton said we should all be reading Knox so I looked her up. I like some of her books quite a lot but I loved the idea for Making it Last. I've often complained about the romance genre that there's way too much emphasis on the beginning of relationships and not enough about the romance of existing, long-term relationships. This collection starts with a novella about a couple getting together, as expected. But the fun twist is that the collection wraps up with a novella about the same couple, eleven years later, reassessing their relationship after ten years of marriage, three children, money stress, and work frustrations. I found a lot of this one spot on.

Sean Owens stole my heart. My son has a slight stutter and Ms. Knox portrayed it perfectly. There was only one book i was not that fond of but over all a great buy and REALLY great price!

I liked all of the books in this bundle. Flirting with disaster, about Katie and Sean was the best. Ruthie Knox is skilled at writing realistic characters who one cares about.
