Hallelujah Love #8

The Eleventh Commandment

Rate this book
The members of Kingdom Citizens Christian Center believe in sharing the spirit of love and generosity with others. Even so, they can't seem to follow the ten commandments, a fact that suggests it just might be time to add rule number eleven. . .While Frieda Moore has not found her way to the Good Word--she has charted a path to a really good, upscale life. Still, she's not about to let her prominent surgeon husband and baby son get in the way of her good time. The sizzling blessings she's getting from her primed-and-ready 25-year-old lover are too divine to resist. . .until one too many secrets threaten to ruin this bad girl's heaven on earth. . .Frieda's more sensible cousin, Hope Taylor, was sure she and her spouse, Cy, were solid-in-the-spirit. But now a long-lost love is requesting an act of Christian charity that for Cy could be a second chance at temptation. And when Hope's best friend, Stacy, must decide if a money-making scheme with her ex will fix her rocky marriage, the consequences will have the saved, maybe-saved, and the hardly-saved begging for deliverance . . . "Expertly illuminates the wacky world of the devout and devoutly devilish." --Publishers Weekly on Reverend Feelgood"More secrets are exposed and old enemies learn to forgive as this family faces, together, what life throws their way." --RT Book Reviews on Taking Care of Business

The Eleventh Commandment by Lutisha Lovely - 4 stars

There are some people who truly walk in their calling and Lutisha Lovely is one of them. She can create a storyline that will capture your heart while taking to your spirit. The lives of Frieda, Hope and Stacy will force you to experience the full gamut of emotions. They may not be perfect and may not always be focused on God but the world isn't perfect either. Their life experiences are typical and will speak volumes to the reader.

Lovely uncovers a few secrets, some heartbreak and loads of forgiveness. The read is fast paced and unpredictable. However, I did notice a few gaps in time forcing me to re-read a section or two to understand the story. Even with that the story was enjoyable and certainly one I would recommend.

However, someone from her husband Cy's past re-enters and nearly uproots their foundation. Hope finds herself angry but her faith helps her through a DIFFICULT situation.
Stacey and her husband are hanging on my a thread because of an injury he has sustained on the football field. Her baby daddy - Darius in a relationship that is full of drama. However, Darius and his husband help her to keep her head above water.
This is a very good read from a great author...I am sure that you will enjoy the drama's as they were unfolded within these pages..

Every woman needs a friend like Bo...Somebody who will help you come to your senses when things are falling apart. It immediately made me think about my BFF...She's always calm during a crisis. This is the first time I read a novel by Lutishia Lovely. I really enjoyed it, I listened to it on audio. While driving I would crack up laughing at certain parts. I will definitely read another novel by her.

Lovely has a history of writing irresistible entertaining books; her latest continues the trend with a seamless blend of romance, dynamic characters, everyday drama and self-discovery. THE ELEVENTH COMMANDMENT states ‘you should know and uphold yourself’ and the four couples in the book each wonder ‘do all good things have to come to an end’ as the commandment influence their lives.

Frieda Livingston is living her life as if it is golden, spending her husband’s wealth freely; at times forgetting she is a wife and mother. Dr. Gabriel Livingston is attracted to his wife’s sassy and independent spirit, but a deceitful lie will bring unforeseen challenges to their marriage. Cy and Hope Taylor are hopelessly in love and their marriage reflects their love and commitment to each other until a blast from the past has an unusual request that will force each of them to relook at the meaning of trust.

Stacy Johnson has been nothing but supportive of her football playing husband Tony. Tony does not want to face the possibility that his football career may be over, and secretly seeks a solution that could destroy not only his career but his marriage. Bo’s motto of “aim to please” has kept his marriage to his sexy sought-after husband, Darius Crenshaw fulfilling and in-tact. Darius’ loyalty to Bo will be tested when his playful flirting with a tempting admirer goes too far.

With skillful characterizations and well-paced action, Lovely crafts an engrossing story where the smart, snappy dialogue makes the characters seem like friends and neighbors. I enjoyed the use of multiple narrators giving each character a voice, and I am sure readers like me will be rooting for the favorite characters. The journey that each of the characters will have to take individually and as a couple will illustrate that, love oneself unconditionally, is the best love of all. The satisfying ending ties up neatly, yet leaving the door open for a future revisit with the characters.

THE ELEVENTH COMMANDMENT is the eight installment of the Hallelujah Love series. Fans of the series will be glad to revisit with familiar characters, and enjoy the gripping storylines that kept them up all night in the past. This book also works well as a stand-alone as Lovely effectively fills in any necessary back-story so newcomers will enjoy Lovely’s amazing grasp of human nature and the emotions that lie deep within us.

Lutishia Lovely returns back with the eighth installment in the Hallelujah Love series and she does not disappoint. The same intensity, fire and drama that is on page one is on the last page!

Frieda Moore-Livingston and her husband Dr. Gabriel Livingston are the epitome of opposites attracts: she is street and would rather listen to rap and he is refined and privileged and would rather listen to Bach. The one thing they both know is that they love Frieda and for Frieda to be happy, how they go about that might be very different but the result is the same.

Cy and Hope Taylor are living the life that they always dreamed of: beautiful ocean-front property in California, two beautiful healthy children, financially stable and a strong marriage. There is nothing that could rock this wonderful union, nothing but a blast from the past. Is that blast from the past enough to set the Taylor's on edge?

Darius and Bo Crenshaw are two of the most colorful characters of this book. Darius is an award-winning recording artist and Bo is his legal partner/manager who manages to take care of all of D&C scheduling events and the groupies too. They live a very comfortable life with shared custody of the child that Darius has with Stacy, but as comfortable as that life is there seems to be something missing for at least one of them.

Stacy and Tony Johnson have been married for three years and are living a good life. Tony is in the NFL and Stacy has a son by Darius so they are good. When there are some major lifestyle changes in the Johnson household, will they be able to sustain the strong fairytale marriage that they have had for the past couple of years or is the honeymoon over and is it time to deal with reality?

The Eleventh Commandment is a very well scripted novel that has you living the lives of the characters and talking to the book to tell them what you would do. I love when the author is so clear with the writing that is draws you into the characters lives that you take the emotional ride right along with them. Lovely is consistent with her ability to keep us coming back for more, kudos to you!

Another good read from Lutishia Lovely. I loved how this story flowed and the different things each character went through. I love how along with the issues there was some spiritual guidance. Cy and Hope great couple with lots of love and understanding. Darius and Bo just funny. Frieda out of control, Tony and Stacey just need help. Looking forward to more to come from the Hallelujah Series.

Frieda didn't know anything about scripture so Hope told her that there was only ten commandments and Frieda said there should have been eleventh commandments because this one was helping her change her life and it says:

You should know yourself
And uphold yourself
And let unconditional love
Be the only kind that you show yourself.

I forgot how much I enjoyed Lutishia's writing. It's been a while since I read Sex in the Sanctuary. However her reference to the story line and characters in this book brought it all back and made want to re-read earlier books.

This is the 8th book of The Hallelujah series. If you read the series, it's best to read in order.

I love this series, and this book is good, like the others in the series.

The Eleventh Commandment

Another good read by Lutishia Lovely. It was dramatic, romantic and a whole lots of Church gossip and frolicking. This is a story about a pastor Mate Thicke who got all the church women in his bed and then tell them he is covering them. Eventually he was with Katherine then her daughter Simone then Simone daughter Destiny who was 16 yrs old. Destiny got pregnant and send away for until she was 19 years announced to the church he is engaged, which bring lots of greviance for all the other women he was sleeping with. Destiny learn what was happening so he told Pastor Nate she would live with his mom until they are married. He question his mom and Destiny won so he move up the wedding date and also have a small wedding in the Caribbean.
This was when Nate cut off all his ladies to settle down with his wife. Love this story.

This is #8 of the Hallelujah Love series; let me introduces you to the “Lovely” couples…

Frieda Moore Livingston and Clark Livingston. He thought he could turn a trick into a wife but Frieda got more game than Monopoly and secrets that he never bargained for. She has everything she’s ever dreamed of and “some”.

Hope and Cy (Cyclone) Taylor Have a awesome marriage built on trust and love, but a “Tricky” college sweetheart turns up asks him to do something only the good lord and a trusting wife would allow him to do.

Stacy Grayson Johnson and husband Tony’s marriage was good until an injury sidelined his football career and his life He’s not just having trouble with his knees but a “leg” too. Right before her eyes, the husband changes into someone she doesn’t want to know.

Bo and Darius Crenshaw Bo is the love of Darius’s life and has fought Stacy, other women and men off his superstar husband. But when Paz comes into the picture, shiggity just got real

Some have broken every commandment, every chance they got. and all of these relationships will be tried tested but which will be found true?

I really enjoyed this 8th installment or the Hallelujah Love series. Lutishia has a way of telling a story of faith, love and hope, that always commands my attention. Her characters are real people in a real world in real life and current storylines. Her stories always make you question your heart and make you ask what would I do in this situation? Lovely always prevails!

The Eleventh Commandment, the 8 installment in the Hallelujah Love series picks up two after Heaven Right Here and brings readers up to date on the lives of Frieda, Hope, Cy, Darius, Bo, Stacy and Tony. With Frieda’s pregnancy announcement at the end of Heaven Right Here, the Eleventh Commandment now finds Frieda married and feeling there is more out there to explore. We also find out how Stacy and Tony are coping with the move to Arizona and his pending NFL career and the challenges they faced to maintain their marriage. Cy and Hope are still very much in love but a past relationship will come in and test this couple’s love. I will say Hope is a very understanding woman. Finally we get to catch up with Darius and Bo Crenshaw and the challenges they face that test their relationship. After Bo and Stacy come to a mutual agreement to get along for the sake of lil Darius, there is now another roadblock that strains Bo and Darius’s relationship.

This book dealt with issues that couples will face in relationships, some of the outcomes were hilarious and others will have the reader wanting to throw their book or ereader device across the room. Eleventh Commandment was a good read and I wonder what Lutishia has in store for readers of this series.

Ms.Lovely has not let me down yet….. The 11th Commandment is a book that you can’t put down until you absolutely MUST. Briefly Frieda is married to Gabriel who is a very busy doctor & they have a son. Gabriel is so preoccupied with being the “good Doctor”, that his beautiful ghettofied wife has an affair with Clark….whew…..SECRET #1……and the secrets are abounding in this novel. The stroryline is believeable and awesome. Can’t wait for the next one. Ms. Lovely please take a bow!!

Love the lessons taught that self love is the most important love. Hope,Bo, Frieda and Stacy show to do it within their relationships. One doesn't appreciate marriage until actions bring it to the brink of divorce. Another shows in dramatic fashion that they won't stand to be disrespected, no matter how much the words 'I love you' are spoken. One more must trust mate to do the right thing when unusual situation arises.

Told in an engaging, easy to read manner, Lutishis Lovely takes the reader on an entertaining ride.

I love Lutishia Lovely's books. Especially the Hallelujah series and this one did not fail. I've always loved the relationship between Hope and Cy. I'm waiting for the Lord to send me my Cy. Lol! Great book. Can't wait for the next one. My only wish was that it would've had more of the Montgomery's, but I guess that's saved for another books. Don't let this one pass you by.

Such an excellent and entertaining book. Deals a lot with forgiveness and helping each other. I loved every one of the characters. Freda learned the most and that was how to love herself in order to love others. I really enjoyed this book, The Eleventh Commandment. I've read the other books which in my opinion should be read in order. These characters are in her other books.

Lutisha Lovely is a great rider. She kept me engaged throughout this book. I love the way she had me irritated with Cy, but kept me in suspense about what was really going on with Trisha. I'm not really sure how realistic this scenario is though, because Christian or not, I don't know any woman who would be ok with her husband spending quality time with his ex.

Lutisha did it again with this new book. We're following familiar couples, Hope and Cy, Felisha and Gabe, Stacy and Tony, and Darius and Bo. Marriages are tested, Infidelity involved and what you think will, just might not. It was a great story, and I can't wait to see what's next in store.
