As engineering students become more and more aware of the important role that communication systems play in modern society, they are increasingly motivated to learn through experimenting with solid, illustrative examples. To captivate students' attention and stimulate their imaginations, Modern Digital and Analog Communication, Fifth Edition, places strong emphasis on connecting fundamental concepts of communication theory to students' daily experiences of communication technologies. The text provides highly relevant information on the operation and features of wireless cellular systems, Wi-Fi access, broadband Internet services, and more.
I just started reading and the book is really good. It's really hard to find a book on telecommunication having a comprehensive language which I have been through. The book is good as I already said and I recommend it for the beginner who doesn't have any background in telecommunication (just like mine).
this book is good , i personally found it the best book especially for beginners ,everything is easy and clear ,there were some mistakes but its already corrected in the fourth edition .
This is somewhat difficult for beginners in the field, like me! However, I liked (and found very helpful) the many illustrative diagrams and the verbose/lengthy writing style.
While it's never really fun to read a textbook, Lathi interjects just enough quirkiness to make his books more enjoyable. Better than that, his writing is very clear. This a good book for an introduction to communications systems.
