Watch and Learn was a story I just couldn’t put down, it had me captivated from the start, drawn in by the storyline and mesmerized by the characters. Nate and Oaklyn meet by chance and an instant attraction forms into a mutual arrangement. As the chemistry and intimacy builds between these two it is plain to see these two are more than just friends with benefits. When tragedy strikes and ending is required these two will be left unable to move forward. When an error connects them once again Nate will need to prove that his heart and head are onboard together to prove to Oaklyn she is his everything. A story that is steamy hot, packed with emotions and will have you watching and learning just how good love can be.

Nate loves playing football, however the fame that goes along with being star Quarterback of the Nashville Storm is something he’s not necessarily a fan of. So when a chance meeting with a beautiful woman who’s got no idea of who he is presents the opportunity for a night of no strings passion, there’s no stopping him.
Stopping off at a seedy bar after a long day's work and meeting a hot, sexy stranger was the last thing on Oaklyn’s mind, however throwing caution to the wind she invites him back to her place. What was originally only supposed to be a night of no strings passion takes a different route when the pair embark on a friends with benefits relationship. As the days turn into weeks both Nate and Oaklyn’s feelings towards one another deepen, just when they’re both on the cusp of admitting said feelings to each other Nate suffers an injury on the field that sees him walk away from Oaklyn, breaking both their hearts in the process.
However fate has plans for the couple when a year later they’re brought into one another's lives again, this time Nate’s on a mission to make Oaklyn his once and for all, he’s determined to show her what she means to him and how they’re meant to be together. After breaking her heart once before, will Oaklyn be willing to open up and put herself out there once again?
The storyline was extremely well written, with combustible chemistry throughout, guaranteeing readers are kept captivated from start to finish. I highly recommend the book.

Another great read. I enjoyed how both Nate and Oaklyn are career driven, and yet make the time together while they have it. They have great chemistry; will feelings develop? Until one day, everything changes, a missed opportunity or stubbornness? Will they move on? Hold on to your feelings, they do get a workout.
I loved everything about this book, from the meet cute, banter, through to The End.

Oh my goodness! Nate and Oaklyn were everything! I couldn’t get enough of them! After everything they had to go through I’m glad they found their way back to each other. Nate and Oaklyn were definitely meant for one another. The ending was so them and so perfect! 🥰💙

A fantastic sports romance from Rebel Shaw. Nate and Oaklyn were made for each other.
Nate is the QB for the Nasville Storm. He loves playing football but not necessarily the fame that goes with it. So when he meets Oaklyn and she has no idea who he is, she's like a breath of freshair. Oaklyn is doing her residency to become a doctor, so neither have time for a relationship. Theu soon embark on a friends with benefits agreement. But when Nate receives news that will change everything, he pushes her away, leaving them both heartbroken. Unbeknown to them, fate has other things planned, and year later, they are put into each other path and this time Nate makes it his mission to show Oaklyn what she has meant to him all along. Will she be willing to open up her heart once again.
A fantastic story that I cannot recommend enough.

I absolutely love this story. Love Nate and Oaklyn ❤️
So many times I found myself tearing up during this story. Nate and Oaklyn have a connection that no amount of time can break. The connection they have just is beyond words.
Nate just wants one night where he can just be himself, not a famous quarterback, not wanted for who he is or what he has in his bank account. So he stops in an out of the way dive bar with no one inside. This stop will change his life.
Oaklyn is just starting her residency and had the hardest day yet. As she drives around, she decides to stop at a bar that looks rundown. There she meets a good looking man. She has no idea who he is but is extremely attracted to him. She decides to bring him home with her and has the best night of her life. They then agree to a no strings attached/friends with benefits arrangement.
Only feelings get involved and neither speak up.
When an injury destroys Nate’s career, he pushes her away. He doesn’t want her to set aside her dreams, to become a burden to her. So he tells her is leaving and that they are over. Breaking both their hearts in the process.
A couple years go by before Nate comes back to Nashville to try to win Oaklyn back.
This story beautifully captures the struggle of these two people as they try to get over the other person, who are the most selfless people, who love the other with all that they are. But in the end, realize the person is in their blood and there is no getting over them.
Nate has a lot of “wooing” to do to get Oaklyn to trust him again. Will he be able to win her back?

Rebel Shaw has quickly made it to the top of my must read author (duo) list! And of course a football book totally hit the spot! Their cute meet was perfect, and I literally felt like I was sitting at the bar with the two of them! Friends, this was not a slow burn. AT ALL!!! I am a huge fan of spice and Rebel Shaw delivered on this one. Nate and Oaklyn are both successful in their own careers, needing a little break from their regular lives and embark on a friends with benefits arrangement. The pair very quickly become a constant in each other's lives. Nate is the alpha hero that we all need! He is total book boyfriend material! He is giving, has some serious stamina and he is so sweet. He thinks about Oaklyn and her needs. He understands how her demanding job can take it out of her, and this man loves to take care of her in all the ways! Oaklyn has a giant heart of gold and would do anything for those in her care. She selflessly gives to Nate and offers him the comfort that he isn’t able to get other places, but most of all she sees him for the man he is not the famous quarterback.
I will say one of the things that I enjoyed about this book is that it is not at all what you are expecting, these two work so hard to find their way to each other, and when I say Nate grovels. This man works hard for Oaklyn’s love! This man is so in love with Oaklyn and he is not afraid to let anyone know it. I absolutely fell in love with their best friends and I tried not to get my hopes up about meeting them again! If you love a couple that can’t keep their hands to themselves, fun banter, a mature relationship, and a hard earned HEA this book should be on your Kindle.

I really enjoyed Watch and Learn….. more than I expected if I’m honest though I should have know it would be fab given how much I enjoy Lacey Black’s own books!!
I read this practically in one sitting - only put my kindle down as dinner needed to be made - Nate & Oaklyn’s story had me fully invested and captivated.
This pair were meant to be. He needed someone to see him for himself and she needed someone who understood her crazy work life. Fate definitely pulled these two together initially but it certainly wasn’t finished with them even after things went so wrong.
I have to say I honestly could have smacked Nate upside the head more than once - I completely understood his initial thinking and his emotions and reasoning behind it but his continued path of being a bloody eejit….. 🙄🤯🤬 - I was so glad when he finally got his head on straight!
The slight lack of communication - on both sides - wound me up a tad BUT the story wouldn’t have been the same without it. There was one wee point about their earlier ‘relationship’ that Oaklyn got a bit peeved about where I was shouting in my head “hold on a minute missy… YOU agreed to that as much as Nate did, you stated your reason very clearly!!” but again, once she saw what Nate was trying to show her, I could let that go.
Great chemistry, an interesting initial meeting, two broken heart, low angst but a hopeful chance at a HEA…. All in all a really great story from 2 fab authors.
I’m gonna go check out their other work together.

Another sweet, sexy, and swoony read from one of my favorite writing duos writing a Rebel Shaw! Watch and Learn is full of witty banter, charming chemistry, delicious spice, and some seriously dreamy moments. This fast-paced and feel-good read is a delightful escape, a yummy one-sit read that will leave your heart full!
A one night stand turned friends with benefits scenario turned heartbreak thanks to unspoken words and a life changing injury. And soon our story becomes a second chance. One that balances emotional complications, just the right push-pull, and just the GROVEL I needed! Both characters are likable, though I will say I hardly ever get grumpy at KR/LB men- they are just the best book boyfriends, and Nate here definitely ruffled my feathers, even if I felt for him. But he more than redeems himself. He turns on all the charm (and the yummy alpha) and he works to re-earn Oaklyn's trust and love. The grovel is on point for the swoon I adore from Rebel. And I just adored Oaklyn (and felt so much for her). She's so loving and kind and fun and relatable.
The chemistry is great, and I loved how in the second chance we see them learn to communicate and support each other and fight for their HEA. And I love the spice we get in Rebel's books- I'm here for it! Excited to see Rebel Shaw stories back in my kindle and can't wait for more!

I’ve never been one to watch and learn — but Nate Vaughn has me changing my ways! I love a couple who has hearts that know well before the head catches up. It’s obvious from the very moment they meet that this is a true connection, but because of their current places in life, Nate and Oaklyn attempt to keep their relationship casual. When a career-ending injury shakes up Nate’s life, he knows he can’t drag Oaklyn down with him.
All of my emotions, my head, and my heart wanted to be angry with Nate for tucking his tail and running, but I understood his reasoning. Honestly, it was the best thing he could’ve done for Oaklyn. Perhaps he could have communicated that — but then we wouldn’t have intense build of setting us up for absolute perfection with a second chance, now, would we? Oaklyn is strong, dedicated, and loyal. She’s everything I love to see in a heroine. Even when faced with complications, she stays firm, never lowering herself to the aggressor’s level.
The heat between these two is off the charts HOT! They are so connected that they read each other like their favorite book and give as good as they get. Trust me — once you read this book, you’ll watch and learn every chance you get, too!

While both move on professionally, neither can seem to move on romantically or emotionally and, when Nate has the chance at a return to Nashville, he jumps at the chance in the hopes that Oaklyn is feeling the same thing he is, even though it’s two years later. But, can they really pick up where they left off after two years of no contact?
Watch and Learn was a really sweet romance with a lot of spice! I adored how they both fell without meaning too and that they just seemed to fit together without effort. Both were also incredibly supportive of one another’s careers and busy schedules.
There was definitely some angst and woe is me as well as some drama that I don’t want to give away. I felt for Nate having to process the loss of his career and pivot in life when he wasn’t expecting to have to. I also adored that Oaklyn never once faltered in her dream to be a doctor.
Overall, it’s a sweet and feel good story and one you won’t want to miss! 4 stars,

Neither is looking for anything, and Oaklyn doesn't even know who Nate is, which Nate finds refreshing, and they enter into a friends with benefits arrangement given their very busy schedules.
Despite the agreement that they would have a no-strings attached relationship, both Nate and Oaklyn are pretty smitten with each other from the start, and though things get a little complicated, it is clear these two are made for each other. First book I’ve ever read about this author and it won’t be my last. This book was good from beginning to end. Not too much drama and it focuses on the development and growth of this beautiful love story. Nate was the star NFL quarterback and Oaklyn was rhe upcoming young beautiful doctor so wrapped up in her career. When they first met she had no idea who Nate was and when he told her what he did she even had the football terminologies wrong 😂 but it was so genuine and from that day it was just a whirlwind. It was something that started casual and along the way it developed to more but they never expressed it to each other. Then Nate suffered a career ending injury that changed the dynamics of their story. He made a drastic decision that broke Oaklyn’s heart. But these two couldn’t move on from each other no matter the time that had passed. Nate returned realizing his mistake and he had to prove to her and the World that she was his. It was the most beautiful thing even though Oaklyn made him work. But these two were so amazing. They also had great chemistry and great banter. Loved them!!

I could not put this one down. There was so much to love!!!! This was a beautiful love story and I can’t even describe the emotions I felt.
Nate and Oaklyn meet by chance and have an instant connection. Nate is one of the top NFL quarterbacks and Oaklynn is a resident doctor but their schedules make a relationship impossible. After their one-night stand turns into a friends-with-benefits relationship they fight their overgrowing feelings for each other. Both are so close to opening up to more when tragedy strikes and Nate chooses to leave town.
The angst and pining is something that will stick with me. I loved the evolution of the story. Nate and Oaklyn do experience an insta-love connection but time and distance keep them apart. Even though it hurt at times, I loved the journey of the two as they tried to move on from each other before reconnecting three years later.
I found myself turning the pages in anticipation of their second chance. It took some time but the stars aligned to bring these two back together. When they did, the wooing had me swooning and turning the pages with a huge smile on my face!!
This story captured the struggle and every emotion of two people who want to be together but aren’t able to.
Nate and Oaklyn meet by chance and have an instant connection. Nate is one of the top NFL quarterbacks and Oaklynn is a resident doctor but their schedules make a relationship impossible. After their one-night stand turns into a friends-with-benefits relationship they fight their overgrowing feelings for each other. Both are so close to opening up to more when tragedy strikes and Nate chooses to leave town.
The angst and pining is something that will stick with me. I loved the evolution of the story. Nate and Oaklyn do experience an insta-love connection but time and distance keep them apart. Even though it hurt at times, I loved the journey of the two as they tried to move on from each other before reconnecting three years later.
I found myself turning the pages in anticipation of their second chance. It took some time but the stars aligned to bring these two back together. When they did, the wooing had me swooning and turning the pages with a huge smile on my face!!
This story captured the struggle and every emotion of two people who want to be together but aren’t able to.

The book is well-written, with smooth and seamless writing that is full of witty humour, emotion, romance, and attraction[2]. The characters are well-matched, and their chemistry is explosive, which makes for an enjoyable read. The book is written in first-person dual POV, which allows the reader to get a glimpse into the thoughts and feelings of both characters.
The plot of the book is engaging, with enough twists and turns to keep the reader interested. The story is fast-paced, and the book is a quick read. The book also deals with some serious issues, such as tragedy and loss, which adds depth to the story.

Ok gonna try to keep this from having too many spoilers. This is a one click book for me. I love anything that Kaylee n Lacey write. This is one I absolutely adored and couldn’t put down. Tropes for this include:

But unfortunately life threw a wrench in Nate’s plans , which not only throws him out of his career but takes him on a different path in a new city. Both Nate and Oaklyn have to start navigating separate paths. A few years down the road and Nate is back in town wanting a second chance. This is such a good book and this book has a way of sucking you in, like any good Kaylee n Lacey book. I read this from cover . Some of the side characters were great as well. My hope is in the future we get the best friends story ( Natalie n Jax). This was such a great book. Rebel Shaw has done it again! Watch and Learn is the uputdownable story about finding your "one", not realizing it (or being in denial) until it's too late and then Lady Fate steps in to give you the second chance you never thought you'd get! Nate and Oaklyn's story has it all! An adorable (and steamy) meet-cute, a friends with benefits arrangement that quickly turns into soooooo much more, friends that love and support them (and give them the tough love that they sometimes need) and just the right amount of angst, emotion and HAWT chemistry! AND the bad guy that you want to shove off the highest cliff because he's just THAT infuriating!!!
As far as I'm concerned, Watch and Learn is the PERFECT book to curl up on the couch, with a blanket and a beverage (preferably in front of a nice fire) and get completely lost in! It's a delicious ride that I didn't want to end....and it's one of my favorite reads of 2023! Hopefully we haven't seen the last of Nate and Oaklyn! I'm putting my request in for HEAs for besties Jax and Natalie (not necessarily together)!!!

Be still my heart - Nate and Oaklyn were great couple to get to know. Their relationship started off as casual but soon it was anything but. But lifes throws them an obstacle too big to climb at the time and they end their relationship. A few years pass but the love they both wanted to ignore is still there. And when life throws a line to Nate he knows this is his chance to see if she'd take him back.
Oaklyn was going through motions and actually living ever since Nate left. Her life is busy with becoming a doctor but when she's alone her mind often comes back to Nate and their time together. I’m a huge Lacey Black fan, and I’ve been reading her books since she released her first one. I’ve loved them all, so it was a given that I’d be reading her collaborations with Kaylee Ryan as well as their work under their Rebel Shaw pen name. Lacey and Kaylee are just so well matched. Their writing is smooth and seamless, full of witty humor, emotion, romance and attraction and centered around wonderfully charming and endearing characters.
Watch and Learn by Rebel Shaw is another absolute winner from this perfectly paired author duo. I absolutely love second-chance romances, and the focus on the emotions and history of these characters added so much depth and authenticity to the story. It was the electric chemistry and genuine connection between Nate and Oaklyn that drew me in and had me made rooting for this couple. Watch and Learn brought Nate and Oaklyn to life on the pages. Nate just wanted to be liked for himself not for the leading quarterback in the league. Oaklyn is a workaholic resident and the last thing she needed after a long day at the hospital was to stop at a dive bar for a soda. The place is empty except for one man at the bar nursing a cola. He is striking and so handsome. This chance meeting leads to the ultimate no strings attached arrangement. Oaklyn has no idea who he is and that is one of the reasons Nate is drawn to her. She is also sassy, independent, beautiful and driven. I loved Oaklyn and her strength, she always let you know exactly what she needed and wanted. Nate, I fell for him, but I wanted to shake him sometimes for not letting those feelings and wants come alive. This was a story of attraction, amazing chemistry, struggles of wanting more, living through life changes that are thrown at them and second chances! Such a beautiful emotional journey that comes full circle for Oaklyn and Nate!

Love this book. Love Oaklyn and Nate’s romance story. Nate is a famous quarterback and he wants just one night where he can go out without getting recognized. He ends up finding a quaint bar and meets Oaklyn. Oaklyn doesn’t recognize Nate because she doesn’t watch football. He tells her his name and they end up starting a friend with benefits relationship. Through that time, Oaklyn ends up getting to know football terminology. Everything is going well when Nate gets injured during a game. His injury costs him from continuing to play football. Nate decides to leave the state and go back to live with his parents. He ends up leaving Oaklyn even though through their time together he’s fallen in love with her. Nate doesn’t think Oaklyn would want him since he can’t play football. As Oaklyn and Nate move on in their life, they can’t seem to get each other out of their minds. Nate then learns that his former coach is retiring and decides to apply for the job. He ends up doing some groveling to get back into Oaklyn’s good graces. Love how these two end up together. Worth the read

Wow! This was such a great book! I could not put the book down from the moment I started reading it.
I loved the relationship between Nate and Oaklyn. Usually storylines like this tend to be boring when it is basically just the two of them in bed together. What started off as a no strings situation turned into so much more. Even though they both went into the “relationship” knowing what it was, it was obvious as time went on that they both meant more to eachother even if they never admitted it. I hate that Nate had to walk away once they both realized that they were falling for each other.
This book covered two of my favorite tropes: second chance and sports romance. Between that and the bedroom scenes I was hooked! If you want a page turner filled with steamy scenes and angst then look no further! This definitely will be on my list to read again!

From the moment Nate and Oaklyn meet there is an instant connection. Both of them are focused on their careers and goals and don’t have time for a relationship, but why not enjoy each other while they can. However, the more time they spend with each other, the more feelings develop. That is until on second shatters everything.
The way I disliked Nate throughout a portion of this book…….I can see where he is coming from with his decision, but UGH it was so frustrating especially with how long it went on. I really had a love/hate relationship with his character because of this. I love Oaklyn. I love her focus and her drive and despite a broken heart she excels at her career, even though a portion of her heart is missing.
These two are an emotional rollercoaster full of friendship, love, and heartbreak.

However the chemistry is undeniable between them. When a life altering event happens they find themselves at a crossroads. Can they find their way back to each other and can Nate prove that what started out as a mutual agreement quickly became so much more important.
I loved this book so much! I was drawn in instantly and so invested in this relationship. All of the characters were so amazing and I am so happy I got to read this.

Rebel Shaw has done it again!!! I loved this whole story and it captivated me from the first few pages. I loved every second of this story and i loved that you travelled the journey with the couple rather than lots of flashbacks. This meant that as a reader i felt we were on the journey with them and not seeing what had happened before. Oak & Nate were both strong characters and i loved how they both loved each other. I loved the best friends in this one who were supportive to them both and telling the truth at times when they weren't ready to hear it. I loved Nate and could slap him a time or two but he saw sense finally. I love Oak and how she never let him leave her heart. I loved every second and i can't wait for more.

Watch and Learn was like a literal movie flashing right before my eyes. I seen everything so visually, and got to “Watch and Learn” right along with these characters. There was so much authenticity in these characters and their feelings, that I couldn’t help but love them as individuals and as a “couple”.
This chemistry is some of the best that Rebel Shaw has ever created, even if months and years separated them, it never wavered. Vaughn and Oaklyn were quite literally a match made in Heaven.
