Memory

Rate this book
A guide to mastering your memory with various techniques.Practice, practice, practice. That’s what you do in magic, and I’m sure in many other subjects or activities. The key to getting really good at something is practicing at it. Being interested in a topic helps a lot too, but I guess if you’re reading this, you are already interested, so you’re already a step ahead. So by practicing memory techniques and giving your mind more tools and skills to use in remembering, you are going to feel the benefits. A tennis player who practices a lot will show significant improvement. This is much the same. I may be giving you a giant tennis racket and it may seem like cheating, so lets just hope that whoever you’re playing tennis with is standing further away and can’t tell!At the back of the book I will include some bonus things to memorize. A few Facts and Figures and handy structured lists to use and how to remember them. But lets get to the systems I’m going to go over. And remember to keep your mind open, so it all sinks in.Here are my favorite memory systems, the ones I would SystemFor Simple Lists.Peg/Hook SystemsGood for lists, numbered items, playing cards.Phonetic Mnemonic Major Memory SystemGreat for for numbers, dates, statistics and playing cards. The Loci SystemA very interesting system the works for lists, events, sequences, and many other odd things. The Blast SystemThis is a system I've developed, for triggering memories. These are all tools to help you learn things in a way that allows you to recall them with ease. So, if you know you're already good at remembering dates, then you should focus on the other ones more.I will get to the explanations of the systems, but first some reasons for using them. There are a host of applications for these systems, and it is up to you to figure out how you want to use them. From doing magic tricks and memorizing a whole deck of cards (see my 10 Tricks vol2 - Mental Magic ebook for a cheating, but clever way to do this), to building your own memory sequences and structures. You can use these systems to help you remember to do things, and remember those bits of information that seem impossible to pull out of you depths of your amazing mind.

James Ulyatt lives in the New Forest, UK. Well, not actually in the forest. He’s not a forest explorer, or hunter gatherer, or anything like that. He’s normal… Average perhaps… but with an imagination full of amazing worlds ready to be brought to life.

‘The Cured’ is the first published short story of many more to come. Along with full novels and great stories in the works, James also creates the artwork for the covers.
