Alex is a very ordinary little boy, so why is he hiding under his bed and who are the creatures searching everywhere to find him? "Hide Alex, HIDE!!" is the first in a series of books following Alex and his friends in their adventures.
A charming little book with a great build up and a surprise at the end. Alex is a young boy who is hiding from a scaly dragon and a spider. The illustrations are really appealing, even in black and white on my Kindle, although I think it my be time to upgrade to Kindle Fire because I would have loved to see them in color.
I would highly recommend Hide Alex, HIDE!! for parents to read to children from about two years-old to about four.
Hide, Alex, Hide captures all the fun of Hide And Seek with the sweet, rhyming style of Natalie Finnigan. Her style is very much complimented by Gina Rahman's illustrations.
It is easy enough to read that a young child could probably read it with little or no help, but it is not boring! And grown-ups will enjoy it too. Natalie expertly combines the fun concepts of story time and playing! Who doesn't want to talk about or read about their favourite game.
In this adventures, Alex hides from his friends Dragon and Spider. Things take a wrong a turn when Alex decides to surprise his friends, but will the friends all make nice in the end? I will not spoil it for you, but the answer is "Most likely!"
The illustrations are sweet and cute. They add to the story and are tons of fun to look at. Natalie and Gina definitely make a winning team!
A charming, and fun rhyming story book, with three engaging characters, Alex, Dragon and Spider. Alex plays hide and seek, and Dragon and Spider have to find him – but there's a little surprise in the outcome! It's perfect for children to follow with its simple story telling and fun illustrations. I recommend this story, for age 2+, it's ideal for parents to read to their children, over and over again! "Hide Alex Hide" by Natalie Finnigan is a fun story about a young boy and his unusual friends, a dragon and a spider. The magic illustrations show the unlikely trio and their wonderful characters during a hide and seek game. It is the kind of story book that is just perfect for children and the adults reading it. Loving, warm and kind-hearted. Told in rhyme and drawn with style the book shows also a great sense of humour. It is truly charming and definitely highly recommended.
A beautiful little rhyming story, about three wonderful characters. Great illustrations bring this gentle tale to life. A dragon is hunting the house for Alex. Should he be scared? Read on and find out for yourselves.
This book was a very short picture book that rhymed. It was about a boy and his friends Dragon and Spider who are trying to find him while he his hiding under his bed.
The media used by Gina Rahman for the illustrations seems to be water colors and colored pencils.
I would read this book to children no older than age 5, when teaching about rhyming words.
A lovely short rhyming story book ideal for a younger child being read to or a slightly older child wanting short books to read for themselves. Eye catchingly colourful illustrations just adds to the appeal. Hide Alex Hide has the underlying story of not judging people by first appearances - but without overburdening the reader with it's moral.
With three characters all children will love - a great little book.
This is a short story about a boy hiding under his bed from the dragon and spider that are looking for him. I think this was just supposed to seem like he was hiding because he was scared, when actually the dragon and spider where his friends and they were playing hide and seek. My three-year-old found this quite scary though, and didn't even want to finish the story (we did anyway). Maybe this is suited to kids older than 3?
Alex is a young boy who is hiding from a scaly dragon and a spider. The illustrations are really appealing, the colors are appealing and children love colors. This is very important to intrigue children to read poetry. When children have trouble reading, the pictures help them realizing what the words they are reading say.
When I first began reading this book I did not realize that this was many in a series. Alex claims to be a big boy but finds himself hiding underneath his bed many times from the monsters he thinks are haunting him,
