Bloodlines #2

Objective

Rate this book
My story started out cliche: good girl falls for bad boy. One wrong move changed all that; turns out the good girl doesn’t save the bad boy. My story goes from cliche to risque to mind blowing. My story is different from all the others because the events of my story led me to one thing...my objective.

Remembering him comes in dreams and flashbacks that I can't control. I tell myself it’s time to let go...but moving on from him is impossible when I still see our lives in my head.

When you kill your soul mate you don’t ever really recover.
A year of trying to forget, or rather move past it, has taught me that you can't. It's an impossibility to move on from that kind of horrific form of betrayal. If you’re too selfish or scared for suicide like me, you learn to wake up every morning and follow routine. One foot in front of the other, day after day.

Hollow. Lifeless. Haunted. Loving him was like the sun on a summer day. Living without him is like slowly burning to death. Torture.

A Bloodlines Novel.

*Note: While Tug of War is the 1st in the Bloodlines books, each book can be read as a standalone book.*

So sometimes when I'm asked to beta read I don't because I don't want to
hurt anyone's feelings, but holy mother of shit I'm glad I said yes to this book.
I loved this book. I love books that are dark and unpredictable
and have all sorts of layers. I love books with strong messed up females and hot
messed up men. I love that I had no idea where this book was going. I've read it once and I'm reading it again right now, so I may change my review later, but this book has everything I love in a book and more.
I think this will definitely be a must read. K. Larsen has hit it out of the park with this little twisted story of Magnolia/Cypress.

I cannot wait to read it for a third time in the final form because it's that amazing.

Review

K. Larsen rocked my world with this book. I loved the grittiness of the characters, the emotion that dripped off the page, it was unsettling and superbly written. I don't like to know how things will work out, this book didn't disappoint me at all. I was drawn into this world of lies, secrets and revenge. I loved every fucking word.

I think this is K. Larsen's best book yet and that is saying something. Do yourself a favor and check it out. NOW!

Wow... Just when I though K. Larsen couldn't get any better – she does! Massively!

I had the fantastic opportunity to BETA read Objective, and I have to say the whole story just blew me away!

I was constantly on the edge of my seat! Full of tension, suspense and twists and turns, I seriously could not read quick enough!

Yet again Ms Larsen has brought to life characters that you just can't help but fall in love with! Be it Mags with her brave, hard act, full of sass and fun, or her male leads and amazing circle of friends! All of them bringing something equally brilliant to the story!

As we've come to love from a K.Larsen novel, Objective is H.O.T! Like, totally scorching, hose me down, I need a stiff... drink! But it's not just about sex. Not even close.

It's dark and it's twisted. Objective is not just a love story. It is way more than that!

Objective made me smile, laugh and cry...LOTS! It is a fantastic, original story. And I honestly think it has something for everyone to enjoy! The moments of suspense and mystery, the HOT sex, the danger, the laughs, it all came together perfectly.

Objective. Myyyy godddd. This book is everything I love wrapped up in one amazing little package. If you've been following me for a while, you know my biggest weakness is crime and mystery with a twist, combined with a little bit of romance. Objective NAILED that. It's got suspense, mystery, and some super crazy CRAZY twists. It was one of the hardest books to put down that I've read in a LONG time.

"If I drink enough, I pass out. If I pass out, there's a fifty-fifty change I'm unable to dream. If I'm unable to dream, I don't have to wake up daily with the weight of the guilt."

So there's not a lot about the actual book that I can write without giving major plot points away, but I will say this. It's about a girl, Magnolia, running from one hell of a messed up situation. It's watching a girl go from a pretty normal life, to a life on the run, watching her back during every move.

It's about a guy, who was born into a situation that he couldn't easily get out of.

It's about a new group of friends, who have their own secrets, that we meet along the way.

"This game is going to end badly for everyone, and I'm okay with that."

I immediately felt connected to the characters in this story. Magnolia draws you in and makes you curious about her from the second she is introduced. I wanted more of her as soon as I heard the first bit of her story, and I got it. Along the course of the book, you start questioning everyone, and their intentions. How they all got to where they are, what their actual motives are.

This isn't a happy little love story. This is a story about survival. A book about doing what you have to do to move on and live, while creating an entirely new life. But everyone knows, that eventually your past will catch up with you, and things will all come crashing down around you. Not to mention, this IS a Bloodlines Series Novel, and if you've read "Tug Of War" you know that the Happily Ever After is always a little bit bittersweet. Everything may end up in a good place, but there's still that teeny bit of sadness to it. Why? Because it's real. And not everything can end up like a fairytale.

Objective can absolutely be read as a standalone. Although it does have ties to Tug Of War, it is about new characters that are introduced. The next book in the series, Resistance, will combine the characters of Tug Of War and Objective. So if you've read Tug Of War, read Objective, and read it NOW. If you haven't read Tug Of War, you should read it anyway, but it isn't essential to read Tug Of War before Objective.

Favorite Quote:

"What do you see?" I grind out, holding both her palms on the counter so she can't move.

"A mess," she whispers.

"I see beauty. Try again. What do you see?"

Objective is the second book in the Bloodlines series by K. Larsen and can be read as a stand alone. Although, you know me, I like to start from the beginning, it gives you a better sense of certain situations.

This story is about Cypress and Magnolia, two names, one person. Cypress flees her life as she knows it, believing things that may or may not be true. She starts over and becomes Magnolia.

"This is the last time I will show weakness. This is the last time I will cry."

As she begins her new life she is a shadow of the girl she once was. She needs to learn to adapt and be prepared. Magnolia tries to forget her past and move on yet she is haunted by dreams and flashbacks of her former life with her soul mate Cane.

“Every touch, every word that came from Cane set my soul on fire. I felt like he was my missing puzzle piece.”

Magnolia drinks to escape. She doesn’t let anyone in, no one is allowed to touch her, she secludes herself from everything. Her world is a mess as she waits for the unexpected.

“My soul is a hurricane, but everything is fine when you’re standing in the eye of it. I just can’t seem to find the eye and stay in it.”

She is strong, fighting her demons anyway she can. When she is weak, her poison of choice, is bourbon. Hiding in her fortress of a trailer is where she finds her peace. Magnolia knows that she needs to move on.

"I'm going to prove to myself that I can face my shame, guilt, and fear."

Enter….Bentley. He is her neighbor yet they barely speak. They form this “friendship” over the course of time but it turns to more. Magnolia is still in love with Cane, she can’t just forget him…can she?

Her world comes tumbling down on her in the blink of an eye.

“Fine. Life. The truth is, life is hard. Life hurts. It’s a complete shit show.”

She struggles to figure her life out. What is real, what is the truth, who can she trust. Magnolia wants to find happiness.

“I want to believe that we can still find a happily ever after but it seems so farfetched.”

There is only one way for her to do this…

“Adapt or die Mags.”

Objective will have you on the edge of your seat, wanting to take a shot of bourbon right along with Magnolia. You will think you know what’s going on and you will be shocked at the twists and turns this story will take you on! Don’t miss out on this!!

OMG! K. Larsen kept me on the edge of my seat throughout Objective. The 2nd book in the Bloodlines series, it was beyond a doubt all that I was hoping for and more.

Story starts out as your age old good girl falls for bad boy love story. But boy does it change. At first Cypress was the type of girl that would get on my nerves, but shooting the love of her life, her soul mate, in the chest has a way of changing a person.

On the run, Magnolia, formally known as Cypress, is besieged by guilt and pain and torment. She shot and killed her other half, her lifeline, how could she go on. Cane, the only man she will ever love is gone, and his uncle, who she was aiming for, is walking free, the criminal he is, and has his goons on the hunt for her.

Finally setting up a home of sorts for herself, she settles in to drown out her pain with a bottle of bourbon. Her sister Aster, even though far away, manages to get Magnolia out of the the downward spiral, with the help of Penny and Brock, and Bentley. Now working, and pushing forward, she has set a goal for herself. Revenge.

She finally starts opening herself up to closer relationships with her friends, when her world is turned upside down, terrifyingly so. The time has come for Magnolia to get what she has been working towards for almost 2 years, but with the unexpected, changes need to be made.

Till the end of this book, I had no idea how it was going to go, and I just need to say it again, OMG!! Totally not what I was expecting. I so loved how she added in bits and pieces from her first book, Tug of War, tied the 2 together, and I like the connection. But both stories can be read on their own. This story deserve 5 stars, if not more, and I cant wait to get my hands on the next book by Ms. Larsen.

Objective is one story that will leave you biting your nails and siting on the edge of your seat while reading this book. I promise once you start reading it you will not want to put it down.

The story centers around Magnolia (who used to be known as Cypress). She is on the run. She shot someone who was very important, both in her life and someone who was very important in the whole different type of world. Magnolia wasn't trying to kill the love of her life. Her aim was off and the man she wanted to kill (Cane's uncle) was saved. Cane, the love of her life was dead (or is he??) . She doesn't know what to do. Not only is she lost, but she has now killed the only person who could save her from this giant mess.
Magnolia is on the run for a while and then settles down where she thinks no one will find her. She knows she has to change everything about her so that no one will find her. Her life is in danger. She needs to do whatever it takes to survive. This poor girl is alone, scared and grieving all by herself. She has her sister, but stays a distance from her in fear for her safety.
Just when she gets back somewhat of a life, the whole plot changes again. I don't want to write too much and give the story away. This is of those books that if you tell something, you will ruin the whole plot. As a reader, I never know what is going to come next.
Let's just say that if you start this book, clear a whole bunch of time. You will not want to out it down, because you will be thinking about it the whole time you are not reading it.
I loved K. Laresen's books. Each one seems better than the last.

On the recommendation of a good friend, I was first introduced to author K. Larsen's work when I read 30 Days, then Committed and then Tug of War. As you can see, I was immediately hooked on her writing, not to mention bewitched by her stunning cover artwork!

In Objective, Magnolia is running from her past. Put in a fight or flight situation, she did something truly awful, and is now literally running for her life.

Larsen is a skilled writer. Just when you think you know where she's going with the story-line, BOOM... you're brought in a different direction. This is a dark, gripping story with plenty of surprising twists and turns and it kept me on the edge of my seat throughout.

Larsen's characters are well written and just plain awesome. Magnolia is a tough nut to crack, but has to be hard as nails to survive. Sawyer, quiet, brooding and practically omnipresent, is swoon-worthy.

The delicate link to Tug Of War hints at what the future holds for future books (I hope!)

I am not the type of reviewer that gives away the plot or spoilers. My sole objective (pun intended!) with this review is to get you to read this book, in fact, this entire series!
Seriously - GO! Now! 1-click!!!

Wow. What a storyline . . .

The plot thickens. This is not a smooth ride. Bumps lace the road. Objective is not a hearts and flowers book. Magnolia is running from her past. A past bloodied and buried in brutal memories. What starts out as a sweet high school romance gets twisted up in a dirty mess. Magnolia and Cane should have lived out their romance as purely as it begun but that wasn't the case. Brutal reality hits hard and tragedy tears them apart.

Alone and grieving, with only the road as her companion, Magnolia seeks a safe haven far from her roots. Scared to let anyone in, in fear of getting them caught up in her twisted life. A change is necessary. In drastic times, drastic changes are needed. Adapt or die.

All I wanted for her was for her to find a peaceful place. To build a relationship with someone new and let go of her painful past. That is not the case. As I said, this is not a sappy story. Besides the gut-wrenching flashbacks that we share. The sadness of her perfect life as it once was.

Full of surprises, this book will keep you guessing. Objective is a dark story that will leave you feeling empty, scared and unsettled for the main character. It connects with the reader.

If you want something different then give Objective a go.

One event caused her to run, from everything and everyone she ever knew and loved. One year later and she's barely starting to live again, but in an instant everything she thought she knew changes. This story shows the events that led Mags to where she is now and the people behind why she is there.

Mags is a very strong alpha female transformed by circumstains from who she used to be. She might not be surviving perfectly the way people would expect but she's doing the best she can all things considered. Living in a no name town working as a waitress surviving day by day. Living on booze and wollowing in silence each day she remembers the good times with Cain and the horror that brought her to the now.

As you read and get into the story you feel her pain and loneliness and are right there with her in her memories. I loved the way you were involved in the story and how you see Mags' progression from happy to sad and trying to be happy again. Great read can't wait to see more of the Bloodlines series.

5 Stars. K.Larsen is one of my top favorite authors so anything that she has come out I read and I am never disappointed. Magnolia/Cypress has done something she will have to live with for the rest of her life something that will replay over and over.
She is on the run and finds her self in a small town where no one will notice her or so she thought when Bentley her neighbor tries to talk to her she cuts him off but he is persistent on being a part of her life. This book threw me for a major turn just when you think you know whats gonna happen everything changes. As each word I read my emotions for each character became stronger I couldn't wait to see what would happen next as I read each page it had me sad, pissed and just screaming hell yea. K. Larsen has a way of drawing you in to each world and feeling the emotions of each character and feeling a part of each page of her books. I loved Objective and am gonna die more and more each day till I get some more of K.Larsen's words to read. This is definitely one of my top reads of 2014 if I could rate it a 10 I would .

I give this book 4 stars.

First off I was not aware that this was a second book in a series and didn’t find out until after I finished it. With that said I really enjoyed the book.

The book held my interest throughout it. I enjoyed the story and characters were awesome. I love that it was a suspence/love story and was different from what I usually read. It kept me on my toes and wanting more and more. A very well written story with hot characters and many twists and turns that one don’t expect.

This is my favorite K Larsen book so far. It's a dark story with twists that you never see coming. Cypress/Magnolia is a very strong and determined woman. Life has just dealt her a very shitty hand and she doing whatever she can to survive. This book sucks you in from the very first chapter and takes you on one hell of a ride. I can't wait to see what the author has for us next.

Dark, Twisted, Sexy and Suspenseful are the four words I would use to describe this book. Objective is part of a series but it was easy for me to read as a stand alone since I didn't read the first book. There are so many twist and turns in this book you don't know how it's going to end. If you love a book that is not only sexy but keeps you on the edge of your seat you will love Objective.

What did I love about this book?

Besides the fact that K Larsen described Cane Ash as Cuban and the first person that popped to my head was William Levy *sighs*. Maybe it’s because she manages to give us 2 broken souls that no matter the distance, time and the hell life was going to give them, were still meant to be soulmates. How messed up is that right? The one man that broke Cypress White is also the only man that can save her. Vice versa.

“I’m so sick and twisted. Is it possible to love someone so deeply that you can hate them as well?”

This is an Epic love story, but dark and twisted. That’s how I see it. They met in HS and it was InstaLove. Only problem his family and how he lived. Above it all, he loved her so much he would change and throw it all away for her. Until his uncle Ezra ruined it all. Brain washed Cypress, hurt her in the worse way possible, brain washes Cane and the InstaLove is InstaBroken. So now come the years of lies and betrayal. Cypress dies and Magnolia Ash is born. Cane literally dies, at least that’s what Mags has believed all along, and has become such a ruthless man. Not complaining.

“She was my glue, my reason for staying good. My reason for constantly striving to be a better man, a decent man. When she vanished, so did my moral compass. I was truly lost without her.”

What does that tell you? The man you loved is dead. The woman you loved betrayed you. And the sweet innocent uncle sits back and enjoys the show plotting his next move. So much pain and neither one of them bothered to open their eyes. Blinde by hate. Oh it turns out Mags ran away with a backpack with some very important material inside. Uncle Ezra must get it back. Another thing I enjoyed about the story were the characters that Mags chose to let in her life. Aster, Bentley (Oh Bent), Penny, Brock. Together they get Mags to a point where I no longer wanted to kill her. What I’m saying is a heroine worth liking and reading about.

“I don’t make mistakes, I date them. And I need another mistake like I need a hole in my head, no to mention finding a good guy, a ral man worth fighting for is like coming across a unicorn in your backyard. Legend. Myth. Fairytale. Does. Not. Exist.”

What I didn’t like about the story?

Duh. Uncle Ezra Ash, the douchebag. I hated how loyal Cane was to him. I get the blood is thicker than water, and bros before hoes, but for the love of God, he was lying righ infront of your face Cane. Why was he in your house with your girlfriend when shes made it clear to you she didn’t trust or like him.

“Do you think you belong with her? Your legacy is with us. Family. You’re no better than I am. Do not forget that you come from a long line of scumbags. You’re just like me.”

Feed that BS to someone for so long they actually start believing it. I didn’t agree with something Mags does. Not giving it away. One minute she’s breaking down running to someone and 5 minutes later she’s running to someone else. Those were the moments I wanted to kill Magnolia.

Do I recomment this Book?

Yes. It can be read as a standalone. There is mention of the characters from Tug of War and the tatoo parlor, Bloodlines Tattoo, but nothing that will ruin the reading order. If you’re lookig for a page turner, with sweet lies, revenge, 2 kick ass main characters, one hateful villain, a few great friends and your not so usual HEA. This is it. I had to find ways of being nice to Katie after that ending. If you’re anything like me then you’ll love it. Go after K Larsen not me ok. Adapt or Die *winks*….Happy Readings!!

This is a contemporary-romantic-suspense book, second book in the series The Bloodlines. Yes it can be read as a stand alone, but I would recommend reading the first book Tug of War to get the complete story. And I am anxious for the other books to be published. I am having a love-hate relationship with K. Larsen, yes she knows why, sorry no spoilers from me, lol. I love this series, another great book with a kick butt, take names later woman, Cypress. I love her heart, I understand her grief, and I admire her strength.

My life was everyday normal, strict parents, high school, then finally dating. And wouldn't you know my first boyfriend would be the bad boy, the one my dad tries to protect me from. So my simple life goes from predictable, to mind blowing, all leading to my objective.

How can I forget him, when he invades my thoughts, dreams, every memory. Whom am I kidding? I can not let him go, because my heart will not accept he is gone.

I deserve to be broken, I killed my soul mate. A year of trying to erase the memories, the feeling of self hate, but I cant. Grief has over taken me. Taking my own life would be too easy, I need this pain.
I wake up every morning to face the day, one minute at a time.

How can I describe how I feel when I can not comprehend it myself. I simply miss him. I am shattered.

favorite passages:

"I want to run up to her. I want to confront her. I want to hate her, but I don't."
"I don't know if it's the injury or my shattered heart, but it always aches."
"No one ever told me that grief felt so like fear." <3
"Something about the pain soothes me, though, as much as it hurts, as if I deserve it."
"I hope you never have to think about anything as much as I think about you."
"I keep thinking that my life is unfinished, that its missing something, someone."
"That's what family is for, right?"
"Three loud knocks on the window made me clutch my chest and scream like a little girl."
"I swear the butterflies that had been in my stomach just fluttered around so fiercely that I thought I might float out of my seat right into heaven."
"The guilt drips into my chest through a pinhole, slowly drowning me."
"I don't know whom I am without him."
"But so much has changed. Everything is different."
"I gave up my life, my love, my soul."
"I love you so hard. So hard." <3
"It breeds and feeds on your soul, breaking you down like compost until you're nothing but dirt."
"I would sell my soul to see Cane's face again, but as he always said adapt or die, no three words have ever been truer."

ARC Was Given To Blog For An Honest Review

This story is a raw and gritty story, not hearts and flowers, it is a little on the dark side but not intensely dark. It had a lot of twists, turns and upside down moments. To be honest, I had a hard time getting into it at first but then as I went on it was hooked and it pulled me in.

Cypress, aka Magnolia, is the female lead. She had so many facets to her and changed so much over a short time. She was the good girl that falls for the handsome bad boy. Cypress is dealt some bad cards and she had to do what she needed to in order to survive and stay alive. She is a true fighter. The author really did a great job making me feel her feelings of guilt, anguish and the intense love she felt for Cane. Those feelings ripped through me.

Cane is the male lead, at least some of the time. I felt bad for him being caught up in the family he had. The choices he made were hard ones and I could tell he was doing it all in order to find a way out. His love for Cypress was real and true and maybe a little selfish. I will say Bentley is the other male lead in the book. (No this is not a love triangle) He is relentless in breaking down Cypress’ walls and getting her to let him in. Let’s just say that Bentley really surprised me. I liked him and I liked how he was with Cypress.

Overall I enjoyed the book; there are a few things that I would have liked to have seen differently. There are some key events in the book, to me they would be have been a pivotal moment for main character and I felt that they were downplayed and because of this I found myself swiping back to see if I missed something. I wanted to feel more emotion from it. I had been on the edge of my seat waiting for that scene to happen and I was left unsatisfied. I was also a bit confused with the ending of the book and I contacted the author for clarification. The ending blew me away and was not at all what I had expected.

This book is different than my typical reads, it was had a suspense aspect to it that I normally do not read. The way the author incorporated that with the love, angst and darkness was fresh to my readers mind. I have not read the first book in the series Tug of War but I plan too. You do not need to read that one first to read Objective. There are just small mentions of the characters from the first book but not enough to give anything away from it.

I was speechless for quit a while after finishing this book. I am still in shock from the wild ride that K. Larsen's Objective took me on. I hadn't read the first book but you bet your muffin I am going back to read that now! But Even without reading the first book I felt I knew enough through the flashbacks and back story presented. She did a wonderful job making sure you felt connected to the characters emotional/mental state and understood their reasoning throughout the book.

Magnolia (Cypress aka Mags) has made a new life for herself. If you can call it life when you are just going through the motions. I am not sure how she kept what little sanity she had left after such tragic events that led her to her running from everything and everyone who once knew her. But this day and age if some one wants to find you...they will.

There are so many twists. You think you know what a person is all about till you are thrown into a whirlwind of secrets and EVERYONE has one in this book! I was brought to tears on multiple occasions and seriously felt sick a couple of times from the despair and the horrible events that were unfolding. I couldn't stop till I knew everything was played out and all the cards were on the table and when they were I was speechless.

Ezra is a great villain! He is just the definition of a sick, evil, twisted individual that has no heart left. I wanted to kill the bastard and, if possible, kill him again. That is how much I hated him and all he stood for in this book!

And let's not forget about the men *wink*. There is Bentley! I must say I liked him a lot. Possibly more than Cane, Mag's original love. He is gentle, loving, concerned, but at the same time did I really know him? He too had a secret and one he couldn't reveal that made you wonder if he was truly that guy that could take care of you. Cane played with my emotions as well. I wanted to hate him, but it was hard because Mag's love for him was so strong and you felt her love through her memories and actions.

I still want to scream from all the craziness of this book and everything that took place. It's an awesome read and I recommend it to anyone who wants a bit of everything. Dark, twisted, action, thriller, crime, romance, comedy; it's all in there!

I loved this book even though it broke my heart so many times. I felt so bad for Cypress/Magnolia. She has the worst possible thing happen to her, through no fault of her own. She tries to kill the man who took what wasn't his to take, only to find the love of her life bleeding out on the floor. He shouldn't have been there. The situation just got out of control, so she runs. She runs as far as she can, and tries to maintain her sanity. Magnolia is trying to put herself back together, and just when she thinks she can, the past steps back in. It blows away everything she thought, and everything she might have had for her future. Now her only choice is revenge. She will get the man who took everything from her, even though it costs her everything - again.

Adapt or die. Those are her choices.

I love K. Larsen's writing. I'm not gonna lie and say I was fine at the end of this book, because I wasn't. I'm still not. I wanted to cry for Magnolia, Bentley, Cane, Aster, Brock and Penny. All the people that Magnolia had found, and had to give up. Even though I'm heartbroken at everything, and I do mean everything, that happened to Magnolia. I'm hopeful that she can find some happiness in the future, move forward and stop looking back. Find her happiness once again, maybe the guy at the bar is who I think, and they can find something together.

I am however glad that K. Larsen is out there writing these wonderful, sometimes painful, complex, amazing books that really move me. I did love the bit that we got to see Clara, Allie, Sawyer & Dominic. I will always look for her work, no matter what. I know the story will be amazing, just like the characters. I may end up crying, but it's still very rewarding to know that an author can touch me so deeply, make me care about her characters that much. That's true talent, and I will always be a fan. If I could rate this book with 10 stars, that still wouldn't be enough. I am really loving this series. It's different, and I love different. I am so looking forward to Sawyer's story, which is next.

I was given a copy of this book in return for an honest review.

Wow, one of my favourites this year. A real page turner ....

Objective is a story of guy meets girl, and the story that follows is as intense as it is wonderful. It’s dark and sometimes a little twisted. It’s a love story with a lot more going for it - in fact its edge of the seat stuff at times. The girl (Cypress) meets the guy (Cane) and their love is undeniable until tragedy strikes. Cane is a guy who comes from a criminal background and a crime family. He wants to do the right thing and get away from his criminal background but tragedy strikes and due to a terrible event caused by Cane’s Uncle Ezra, Cypress accidentally shoots Cane. Thinking the love of her life is dead she goes on the run from the family. Uncle Ezra does not let it rest and is hell bent on finding her as she took something that belonged to him when went on the run. Ezra is a vile man, he is vicious and dangerous and is hell bent on destroying Cypress. Cypress changes her name to Magnolia (Mags) and sets up a new life. This new life is anything but pleasant, she is holed up in a fortified trailer but she starts to enjoy her life again and meets some fantastic characters that add to the plot well.

I don’t want to write much more about the book plot except to say that it kept me on my toes. I felt so badly for Mags most of the time. She shut out life to protect herself and she had many dreams and flashbacks which help you understand why she’s the way she is. The situation is totally messed up and she exists in a hell like state. Her life is now about survival and how she goes about setting her life up, even though she knows that her past is going to catch up with her, it’s not a matter of if, it’s when.

I totally loved this book, I have a few on my best list this year but this is one of them. Fantastic story, hot characters, great writing with twists and turns that you don’t expect. If I could give this book more than five stars I would. Thank you for the opportunity to review your work K. Larsen with an ARC copy, I am a fan and will be reading more of your work in the future.

One. Two. Three. Breathe. Four. Five. Six. A breathing exercise you yourself will definitely utilize throughout Objective. A story so well crafted, so intriguing, I’m not sure I can put it into words other than to tell you that this is an absolute must read. From the quotes at the beginning of each chapter, that are so fitting, to the last words written will leave you wanting……no….desperate for more!!
The love, the connection you will feel between Cane and Cypress/Mags will consume your soul. Mags, a name given to her by Cane, as you will read….”the magnolia tree embodies beauty, life force, and perfection. All the things that make me think of you.” Mags is one of those characters that you instantly connect with, beautiful inside and out, until one fateful day changes it all. One. Two. Three. Breathe. Four. Five. Six.
~ Cane ~ “I don’t exist without you. Please, Mags, forgive me. I was a total dick and I’m sorry.”
~ Mags ~ “And just like that, all was right again with the world. I didn’t exist without him either.”
You will also be introduced to Bentley, Brock, Penny, and Aster, all of whom are intertwined and woven perfectly into Objective. And then there’s Ezra, a man who will effortlessly make you hate the very ground he walks on.
There are two quotes in this book that sum it all up perfectly………..
Life is such a glorious trauma ~ is it not? J.R. Ward
And….
It has been said, ‘time heals all wounds.’ I do not agree. The wounds remain. In time, the mind, protecting its sanity, covers them with scar tissue and the pain lessens. But it is never gone.” Rose Kennedy
Edgy, raw, intriguing, captivating……………………an absolute must read. One. Two. Three. Breathe. Four. Five. Six.

Well, WOW! The end... I thought I was prepared but not for this for sure. It was surprising. If you want to read something that is all about clouds and roses don't pick up Objective. It's heart braking. I loved K. Larsen's writing style from 30 days and Committed. The Tug of war was slightly disappointing but next Objective was really good. I love her way of describing feelings and the way she makes me actually feel. I cried and laughed with Cypress. There wasn't a single moment when I didn't like her or didn't understand her. She felt so real it was almost scary. I have to say K. Larsen is a good psychologist. She understands human reasoning and human thinking. This makes her so good as an author. And she is on the top of every list I have. I just love her way of revealing the past along with the present. And the end was... refreshing. I mean it was way easier for her to end the book with "lived happily ever after" I'm sure. But she chose a dramatic and and I this made the whole book even more real. Don't get me wrong I'm a sucker for happy endings and good love story. But I couldn't see the story ending differently. After all that happened it was logical.
Cypress/ Magnolia is one of my favorite characters for all the time. She was on the top and fell to the bottom in a matter of seconds. And then she climbed slowly to the surface and managed to stay there not drowning. I think I could have gone completely insane if I was in her shoes. She didn't become a fighter in one day. She slowly grew up. She just felt real. This is her most important characteristic for me.
In conclusion I can say that Objective was a real masterpiece. I loved it. It's now next to all the classic books for me.

I have to say that this book was MUCH better than the first. Also, you do not have to read Tug of War to read Objective. It is technically a stand alone, and is an entirely new set of characters. The suspense in this book was more well written than in the first, and the characters seemed more easily relate-able than in Tug of War.

I really enjoyed the beginning of the story. It was one of those books where you are reading, and you're doing it really quickly while leaning forward, because there is just so much happening and it is exciting. You feel it in your gut and you're just waiting for the bottom to drop out.

I'm quite pleased with this book, and the ending was well written as well! I am easily disappointed at the ending of suspenseful novels, so that earned her back one star from my last review for this author. I will definitely be picking up the next book in this series as soon as I am able, because I have a feeling that K. Larsen will have written even better in the next installment. You can tell that the author is getting more comfortable in their writing!

Are you looking for a book that has love? Passion? Adventure? And keeps you on the edge of your seat? Then objective is the book for you!

I started reading objective and at first it was a bit slow for me to get in to. I hadn't read the first book in the series. Although they can be read as standalone's I think it would have given a more of an insight.

Regardless this book was a great read!

Cypress (or known now as Magnolia) keeps you constantly thinking about what happened in her life.

Without giving too much away, we see Magnolia run away after she thinks that she has ruined her only true love, only to find out that the guilt she has been living with is not necessary when her soul mate finds her over a year after she fled.

Even when Magnolia reunites with Cane things just aren't the same as they used to be. They have many issues from the past to work through and many obstacles to overcome.

I was constantly trying to work out what was going to happen next!

Overall it was a great book, which was different to your typical romance. It was written well and I especially liked looking into their past through their dreams.

This book was again nothing like what I was expecting!! K. Larsen has done this to me with every book I have read of hers!! You THINK you know what is going to happen all the way to the END!! Such a fantastic, fast paced read.

Magnolia is on the run and has landed in a small town in Arkansas. She knows she will be found eventually and she wants to be ready for it when it happens. She is anti-social, a total bitch when her neighbor Bentley tries to become friendly, and never dates. She trains and trains harder for the day when Ezra finds out her location.

Bentley her neighbor is in a word HOT. He won't take no for an answer and ignores her innate bitchiness. He forces her to become friends with him by not going away. He is always there and never leaving her alone.

The day comes when she is found and her world falls apart once again. You are going to flippin love this book!! I am so anxiously waiting for the next in the Bloodline Series!!! OMW HOW am I supposed to wait!?! Be sure to give this one a read! -- Mellena @ The Book Quarry

Sweet Mamas I loved Tug of War, but Objective was just as juicy if not more. How would you feel if you lost the love of your life and it was all your fault? Well for Mag's that was a different story after she lost Cane she left took off so no one could find her, After her tragedy and all that happened to her she wanted to avoid it. So she rode until she found a place but because she was paranoid and refuse to get close to anyone she became desolate and started drinking. Though one always has a best friend to pull you out of your funk and at one point that does happen when she meets two guys who are hell bent on breaking her shell and waiting for her to open up. After a year Mag's finally opens her life to the people who she has now become close with, but just as she starts to open her heart again the unthinkable happens and someone finds her. However this is the last person she ever thought and she is terrified that her life will now be over. I can not write anymore without the feeling of letting out to much. But this book is full of drama, love, fighting, strong women, and sex. You will not be sorry go get it now and read.

Much like the first book I put this one down feeling frustrated and angry. Although, I have to say the author's writing as improved BIG time since book one. I hope she continues to grow as a writer, and I have no doubts that she will.

Here's what I liked about the book:
Mags. She's strong, determined, and brave.
Cane. He's adorable in a badass kind of way. I loved him from the moment we met him.
Bentley. Swoon. Just swoon.
The story. It kept me on my toes, kept me guessing and wanting more.

Here's what I didn't like:
Mags. She couldn't make up her damn mind and sometimes I wanted to strangle her.
Cane. What the hell was wrong with him believing his uncle?
Bentley. A big F-You to him for not telling her the whole truth. The only truth that mattered.
The story. It was so unrealistic sometimes it made me cringe.
The ending. After all that, really? That's how you choose to end it? Grr!

Overall, it made me feel which is all I really ask for in a book. I kept reading because I just had to know what happened but I couldn't give it four stars because of the ending. It gutted me, and pissed me off.

What. the. f***?!?
..Seriously?!!

OK so a few things...

I had a love/hate relationship w/ the whole love triangle. I hate that K. Larsen writes all the characters so well that you can't help but fall in love with them. It's so great to be able to fall in love w/ all/most of the characters, but at the same time it stings too because you know it's not gonna end well for someone so I was happy then I was sad then I was anxious... OH GAHHH... did I have the feels!!
Something else that bothered me with this story is the fact that there were a few major life/death situations but it was as if the characters were taking the situation serious so how could I, as the reader, take any of it serious too. It was just weird to read & feel like this was all a joke.
**Spoiler** and WHY did Ezra get shot in the chest, but was still alive amd well a day later? !
Other than those few things... I thought it was pretty good. The first bloodline book didn't do much for me, but this book... it was worth all the headaches I had while reading it. Lol
