Welcome to Shadow Vale, where the locals bite, monsters are real and the witches play fast and loose with the rules.
It’s National Hex Day in Forget-Me towns around the country! For twelve hours, all fines for magical hex exposure are waivered. There are stringent rules in place, of course, to protect the innocent—and the not so innocent.
It’s all fun and games…until the head of a prominent vampire family is staked through the heart. When Shadow Vale’s very own mayor, Greyson Borne, comes under fire for the deadly incident, Kristen’s not about to let him burn. She has reaper access to the expired vampire and she’s not afraid to use it. Okay, she’s a little afraid, but what’s a little fear when it comes to helping out a friend?
Oh, I enjoyed that there was finally more interaction between Grey and Kris. And with Kain, there was another interesting character introduced of whom I hope he stays around. That’s why I gave this one three stars but just barely. The case is still not very well constructed with Kris loudly accusing the wrong people way too often. And I really am not a fan of this dragged out mystery around Noel’s death and getting rid of him. I really hope it’s not the plan to keep him hanging around and let us wait forever for Kris to confront her paternal heritage.
Blame Your Hexes (Shadow Vale Witches Book 3) by Claire Robyns. Alexander, the head vampire, is murdered and Grayson comes under suspicion of the death. Kristen knows he’s not guilty so immediately starts investigating.
