Sometimes the past comes back to haunt you, or hunt you? Search and Destroy by Paul Heatley is another great fast paced thriller about ex CIA operative Tom Rollins. This time the destruction isn't too bad but just as he has cleaned up the blood in his house from one attack another comes along. For those of us who follow the exploits of Rollins we will not be disappointed in this new adventure that takes us all the way to Honduras. Heatley is a great storyteller and he writes almost as fast as most people read and that is one mean feat. I really like and recommend that you try this series and this one is out in stores September 27th. A big thanks to Inkubator books and Netgalley for supplying me with this book.
It doesn't matter how powerful, cunning, or ruthless you are. It doesn't matter if you control a nefarious organization ready for violence. Attempting to harm Tom Rollins, his family, or those he considers family is a VERY BAD IDEA ! With his innate sense of right and wrong tempered by his experiences in the CIA and beyond, Rollins will even take a stand if he encounters innocents being abused. Heatley's ability to craft well - written tautly - paced action thrillers around Tom Rollins and a formidable supporting cast is once more on display in the 10th installment of the series. This time, trouble comes for Tom & Zeke from the past. A vicious, sadistic man blames them for the death of his family and has plans to satisfy his violent egos' need for retribution with suffering & blood. No Matter. Rollins is Ready. Rollins is Undaunted. And he and his friends are not afraid to get bloody if that's what it takes.
Tom and Haley’s house has been attacked. Zekes home is destroyed and his family taken
Tom is pissed. His and Haleys house has been attacked. Then he learns his friend Zeke’s home was almost destroyed. When they get together they find out that Zeke’s wife and kids have been kidnapped right from under the CIA. Zeke finds out that his boss in the CIA is behind the happening. Selling his own men out for his own gains. Now both Tom and Zeke join forces to clean house and get Zeke’s family back from the Honduran mobster they were handed over to. Cindy, Tom’s friend And Selena, Zeke’s co worker have joined the bloody fight. The battle starts and is bloody from the start. Great read exciting and breath catching. Don’t expect heros just killing.
Tom is drawn back into his old world when an old advsersary escapes from prison and a team is sent to hunt Tom down in revenge for events years before. Then things become more personal when his ex colleague Zeke and his family are targeted by the same gang. This draws Tom, Cindy and Zeke to Honduras to take on Oscar and his cartel.
This is another thrilling page-turner and the title is very apt. I felt sad at the end with one of the outcomes but it leaves things open for future events. I can't wait for the next one to see what Tom gets involved in.

Is this book the past comes back to haunt not only Tim but also Zeke and it will take both of the guys along with Cindy to figure this one out.
When Zeke finds himself and his family in trouble he gets a message to Cindy for Tom because those two are the only two he can truly trust with this. Immediately Cindy does what he asks and Tom is just finishing his own fight, probably with the same enemy, when Cindy delivers the message. Tom leave immediately.
Read this adventure and the next thrilling adventure that they must go on and the steaks couldn't be any higher.
I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Former CIA operative Tom is attacked at home by a group of cartel, meanwhile the same thing happens to ex-teammate Zeke still current CIA and his family. Someone is out to get them and they had to have help.
Simultaneously, cartel leader (which the above duo put in jail) Oscar Zavala is broken out of a Mexican prison with the assistance of current CIA for political reasons. None of these things are a coincidence!
Nonstop action that doesn't stop until the cartel and Oscar are destroyed. A good 3.5 for the action.
Meanwhile, Tom & Hayley finally realize they are not meant to be - it was obvious in the last few books.
I read a ton of the stuff. the first book or two of the series were so so. It was like the author was feeling it out, testing out the plot lines,, refining, his writing style. But overall, they’re pretty good. They’re pretty well written, the plot are a little more complex than many of these. The characters are good, although Rollins himself is a reasonably complex character. But don’t be mistaken, these books are exactly like Reacher or Dawson‘s John Milton series. A wronged, highly trained operative who goes rogue and helps people in need. Not original but well executed.
An exciting book at least for me. Tom figures out that the Houndrus leader of a drug cartel is after him and his team. Once he puts all of the pieces together along with another former team member they decide to take the fight back to Houndrus and end this once and for all. Of course, there is more to this story and it goes back and forth between the two which I found good for the story, for me this all works along with all of the characters. A very good book and very much worth the read. I received this book from Netgalley.com
All very predictable I doubt I thought once during the whole book "that's a surprise" The action is well written, the betrayals well thought out, but it did seem to follow a tried and tested formula used by so many before For the conclusion we get Zeke having to find a new direction in life and Tom realising his old direction was the only one he ever wanted Hopefully subsequent books revert back to Tom just doing what Tom does and not have to be concerned with everyone else
I've read several other Tom Rollins "adventures" by Paul Heatley !!
And yes they are a bit "predictable" in the sense that Tom comes through them "unscathed" !! However, in all the scenarios, Heatley doesn't send in a "magic carpet" to extract Tom from the danger. The danger that he faces, either by himself, or with a "little help from his friends" , is reasonable with the overall moment !!
To say it in another way, I really enjoy these adventures and will keep looking for more to read !! Thank You again Paul Heatley !!
Whata guy!!! Has no qualms shooting bad guys in the head… throwing them out of planes, shooting off helo missiles! PH doesn’t hold back! When he sets his alpha hero in motion, ripping through smoke, fire, whizzing bullets, and explosions…page after page…a reader has got to take a breathe! Or not! I don’t. I love the action! And author PH never disappoints! Thank you, Paul! Now let’s get #11 to the publisher!
One of the most likable things about this series is that the sequences of events feel relatively natural in the context, not the sort of things described as "twists and turns" that sound so unevocatively constructed.
In this book, there is a subtext. I'm not going to say what it is. Of course, in some places the emerging subtext is as unnoticeable as an elephant in the room... read on. Have fun.
Tom is such a beast ! He wanted to settle down and have a quiet life but his past thinks otherwise. Tom is a man who knows how to get things done and not necessarily quietly. What would you do when the past comes violently for you and your former teammate ?.

Another really great read from start to finish. Lots and lots of action. I have read all 10 books in order and have never been disappointed. I guess I will just have to patiently wait for the next instalment. A big thank you to the author Paul Heatley and from me another well deserved 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Good good guys who are attacked by bad guys is presented with a few twist to keep it interesting. Action-packed throughout, so you’ll want to keep those pages turning. I received an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher and volunteers provided an honest review.
It's out for revenge. A dangerous drug lord has been stalking Tom & Zeke, he wants to kill them & anyone else who is close to them for sendin him to jail & for standing by while his family was killed.
Read this in 3 days over Christmas. I could not put this down. The pace sucked you in so much there was nothing you could do but see what was on the next page! On to no 11.
I've read 10 Tom Rollins books now and I think this one is the best. You don't have to read the first 9 to enjoy this book, but; why cheat yourself. They are all great books
Zeke and Tom can achieve a lot when together. Cindy brings her expertise. Both survive attacks to their homes, kids will need some counselling for sure. CIA got a few things to answer for, especially when you find out the motive.
A lot of twist and turns and excitement throughout the book Tom is a great character and he’s around himself with a lot of interesting people. He doesn’t look for trouble, but it always finds him.
Really enjoyed this latest adventure with Tom Rollins. Once I started reading I had to carry on! Can’t wait to download the next thrilling instalment! Would highly recommend this series - it won’t disappoint.
Tom tried to live a normal life but enemies from his past caught up with him and put his loved ones in the crosshairs. It didn’t work out for them. He has left Hopper Creek for parts unknown.
As all the other Tom Rollins series, it continues to be exciting and upkeeping on the suspense. Keeps me locked in the book, not wanting to put it away. Plot changes and keeps me guessing.
What a rollacoster of a storey brilliant characters first-class plot developing slowly drawing you in and keeping you turning the pages to the very end
Another dang good quick little read. Old enemies, a quest for vengeance, multiple betrayals, even some good old jealousy. And some relationship drama asthe cherry on top!
