He’s a spy for the Clandestine Services Agency. She’s a spy for the CIA. They’ve been clashing on joint missions for months, but their worlds are about to seriously collide.
Here are three things that I know. 1) I’m an expert at reading body language, 2) I excel as an intelligence operative, and 3) Ledger Lancaster — daring, fearless, and recklessly charming — is my rival. Or enemy, depending on the day.
What I didn’t realize from our first mission overlap a year and a half ago — a mission I thought Ledger was using to gain the upper hand only for me to beat him at his own game — was that his interest in me wasn’t an act. How could I have guessed?
Since then, Ledger and I have been enjoying (me more so than he) our fierce competitive rivalry, all while I pretend I don’t have abandonment issues. But everything changes when we discover a mission overlap, and suddenly we are being sent on an operation spanning four European countries. As in working together, not working against.
This is not our usual playbook.
Now, while spending every hour of the day together, Ledger keeps reminding me of all the reasons to fall for him — if I were the kind of girl who falls in love. My heart (yeah, that one I keep carefully guarded) tells me not to trust any clues that Ledger is falling for me. But if I’m as good at reading body language as I think I am, Ledger isn’t faking his feelings for me this time, either, and these sparks between us feel dangerously real.
Am I actually falling for my biggest rival? It seems so. Somebody send an extraction team ASAP.
“Spies Don’t Fall for Their Rival” is a closed-door romantic comedy brimming with chemistry, sizzling tension, and witty banter. In a world where the family business is the spy business, prepare to laugh, swoon, and fall head over heels in love.
Meg Easton is the USA Today bestselling author of contemporary romances and romantic comedies with fun, memorable, swoon-worthy characters, and settings you’ll want to pack up and move to. She lives at the foot of a mountain with her name on it (or at least one letter of her name) in Utah. She loves gardening, bike riding, baking, swimming before the sun rises, and spending time with her husband and three kids.
Spies Don’t Fall for their Rival has been one of my most anticipated reads since I read the first book in the series last year, and it delivered! Majorly! It started with action and took me on a thrilling ride. Not to mention Ledger and Zoe completely melted my heart!
Ledger and Zoe may be in the same line of business, but he is a spy for the Clandestine Services Agency and she works for the CIA. Let’s just say that they don’t get along, but when their current mission collides they are forced to team up and work together.
“All I have to do is divert my mind anytime I'm accidentally attracted to her.” - Ledger
Oh what an adventure! This one grabbed me from the start and never let go. Meg Easton is brilliant at the spy romance genre. Between the details of the mission, trying to find out what happened in Ledger and Zoe's past, the flirty banter, and the Legendary Lancaster family this book is a total binge worthy read and I did not want to put it down! Zoe had so much depth to her character. She has a soft side that you don’t see right away and I enjoyed getting to know her. I adored her fascination with cheese. She has a good heart and the journey and growth she goes through in the book melted my heart. It also brought tears to my eyes that I did not expect reading this. Ledger was so likable and sweet. Once he realized his feelings he went to great lengths to show Zoe how much she cared and how worthy she was of love. One of my favorite moments was that fake kiss and how it reminded both of them of what they had been missing with each other, but they were still so reluctant to fall. There is so much more I could say about this one but I am going to end with, you do not want to miss it! I finished the book with a huge smile on my face!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Spies Don't Fall for Their Rival is the second book in the Romancing the Spy series. While you might have a better feel for the family dynamics if you've read the previous book as well (and there might be a few minor spoilers), I do think this could be enjoyed just fine as a standalone as well.
The first book in this series is an absolute favorite of mine. As such, this has been one of my most anticipated reads this year. With such high expectations, there's always that chance that it won't live up the hype I've built up in my head, but this one not only lived up to my high expectations but blew them out of the water. I absolutely LOVED this one... just as much, if not more than the first! The banter between Ledger and Zoe is just absolute perfection... and the chemistry!? Oooh, I just adored them together! Their story was the perfect blend of action and humor, paired with tenderness and emotion too. I loved seeing Zoe grow throughout the story. This was truly a story that had me laughing out loud one moment and reaching for the tissues for the next... and loving every single second of it. This is an absolute must read and I cannot wait to see what happens next in the series!
Spies Don't Fall for Their Rival is a closed-door romance with kisses only and no language.
**ARC received for consideration. All opinions are my own.
Spies Don't Fall for Their Rival is an entertaining adventure much like the first book in the series. Ledger Lancaster is part of the CSA and Zoe Steele works for the CIA. Occasionally their paths cross and when they do, there is an ongoing competition between them. Ledger is a character who is easy to like; Zoe is a bit trickier as she comes with some chips on her shoulders and something to prove. Their chemistry is fabulous though, even when they are aren't getting along (but especially when they are ;).
This is a romance novel first and a spy/action/adventure story second. It's fun, swoony, and sweet (clean). I wasn’t drawn into the spy part of the story as much as I loved it in the first book. I definitely had to suspend logic in parts. But I enjoyed reading it.
I received a digital copy of this book. This is my honest opinion.
I got to read this book early and I was so excited! I’ve been dying for this one to come out since I read the first Romancing the Spy book “Spies Don’t Fall for Their Asset”. This one did not disappoint, it was action packed and incredibly sweet. I loved everything about Ledger. It was really emotional to read about Zoe’s story but also shed so much light on who she was and her way of thinking. I loved her growth from start to finish and the role that Director Lancaster played in getting her to open up!
This was a great audio book to listen to, just like the first book in the series. But even if you haven't read or listened to the first book, you can still jump into this story as a stand alone.
Zoe and Ledger's story was packed with wit, attraction, an enemies vibe that the reader learns is related to a past connection they had together, and also some commitment issues on Zoe's end.
Both of these characters had to face fears related to being able to trust each other with their hearts. Zoe juggles abandonment issues as well as feeling as if she has to be the best at everything in order to be worthy. And she struggles to believe that Ledger could actually have feelings for her.
This audio book was wonderfully narrated and the exciting storyline had me eagerly listening to find out what would happen next.
This is a super fun and sweet rivals to lovers, spy romcom with amazing themes of found family and learning to love and be loved. Ledger and Zoe dish the best banter and competition with a dash of second chance romance that will make you swoon.
Since reading the first book in this series, Spies Don't Fall for Their Asset, I have been looking forward to Zoe and Ledger's story. It DID NOT disappoint!!! I loved every minute spent with these two. Their banter and unspoken rivalry was sooooo good!!! Meg Easton just keeps getting better and better with her books. And that is saying something because she was already a fantastic writer!
I love that she branched out from her sweet (and swoony) romances and wrote these spy novels. She had me hooked and trying to figure out the whodunnit from the beginning. And I have to say I didn't quite guess this one right away, so bonus points for that! I love when I can't figure it all out. And now I want to go back and reread it so that I can catch all of the clues and red herrings along the way.
The Lancaster family were their normal fun and amazing selves in this second book. I loved getting to know them better and I loved how the author set up the next Lancaster sibling's story! Hee Hee!!! That had me giggling... and cheering them on!
The spy aspects and mission details were very intriguing and I loved watching Zoe and Ledger have to improvise off and on. And the protectiveness that they both had for each other... total swoon!!!
You're going to love it! I do highly recommend that you read the first book (definitely worth it) before reading this one. But if you're short on time or just want to jump into this one, you could, but there's so much goodness in book one setting up Zoe and Ledger's story. Just sayin'! ;-)
Now go read it! Stop reading reviews and go experience it for yourself!!!
Content: Clean. There are moments of mild peril. Some kisses but nothing further. But it is a clean read.
I received a copy from the author. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.
Do you want a book that’s just jammed packed from start to finish with action? Then why not pick up a spy book such as Spies Don’t Fall for Their Rival. When the two main characters are intelligence operatives, you know you’re not going to get just the run of the mill story. And this book really doesn’t disappoint. I knew when I read the first book that I was going to want to read each new book in this series immediately. With a little hint of Zoe and Ledger in the epilogue of Spies Don’t Fall for Their Asset, I was so excited for this story specifically.
There was so much tension between Zoe and Ledger! They were so competitive and they were constantly trying to one up each other. And of course, over time, that tension turned into some real chemistry. I really enjoyed how it just seemed to happen naturally. Like they weren’t struck with these huge feelings all of a sudden out of nowhere. As a reader, you just feel this slow shift in feelings and emotions between Zoe and Ledger. There were so many misunderstandings that they had to work through. Plus, Zoe was carrying some pretty heavy emotional trauma from her childhood that she needed to confront and see how she was letting it rule her life. Add to that the action of Ledger and Zoe being together on a joint mission, putting them in constant proximity together, and you just get a recipe for a great spy romance novel.
While you don’t need to read book one in this series first, it was also really good so I would encourage reading it at some point, even if you don’t read it before Spies Don’t Fall for Their Rival. I am excited to get Charlie’s book next!
I received a complimentary copy of this book and I’m leaving an honest and voluntary review.
Two secret agencies, two top spies, one joint mission, one super delightful rivals-to-lovers romance with a hit of Only One Bed and He Falls First tropes.
Zoe and Ledger have been competing against each other for a long time. But when Zoe beats Ledger on the latest mission, it sparks a joint case between both Zoe’s CIA and Ledger’s CSA (Clandestine Services Agency) and forces the two rivals to head out to first Ireland and then Serbia to prevent millions of dollars falling into the hands of a criminal network. They have to stay one step ahead of the bad guys, so there is no time for feelings and flirting. Or is there?
Between impersonating art dealers, talking ‘craic’ with the Irish Ambassador, helping lost little girls and falling off buildings, Zoe and Ledger start to move on from their misunderstanding on their last crossed mission in Moldova and start to become closer and closer. With the bad guys changing their plans and almost catching them, it’s a race against time to close them down before its too late.
I love Ledger, he’s a tough guy, nothing fazes him until faced with losing Zoe and then he becomes a gooey marshmallow, although only for her (and possibly his niece). With his whole family privy to their mission (they all work for the CSA except one brother who is a dentist). Zoe is a foster child and therefore has never had a stable home and considers herself unworthy of being loved so is very distrustful of Ledger’s actions towards her when he’s not trying to best her.
This is a good mix of plot and romance, making this a great closed door romance adventure. Can’t wait for the next one.
Okay, this was such a fun book to read! Especially if you’re into spy romances—which I am. ☺️ CSA vs CIA. Similar organizations but also competitive rivalries.
I really enjoyed the playful banter and the competitive energy between Ledger and Zoe! It was a fun mix of espionage and romance that kept me hooked from start to finish.
Loved the dual POV and their chemistry! Throw in some action and boom! I was hooked!
If you like a bit of enemies to lovers with your spy stories, this one’s definitely worth checking out.
I had been counting down the days until this book because I absolutely loved the first one, and this book was worth the wait! I loved it so much!!
This book is just *chef’s kiss* perfection! It has banter, adventure, swoonworthy moments, humor, great characters, and so much more! I felt like I was right there with the characters, and I kept holding my breath during the adventure moments because I was so into the scene that I forgot I needed to breathe. 😂 I loved the character development, and I absolutely adored Ledger and Zoe. The way they grow throughout the story is so well written, and I teared up a few times and wanted to hug Zoe several times as well.
The side characters are also great! Ledger’s family is so much fun, and I laughed out loud over their antics several times. Ledger’s mom is the best, and I think she’s just as amazing as Zoe thinks she is!
The book is expertly paced and was the perfect length for the story that needed to be told, but I also would have happily kept reading about Zoe and Ledger because I loved them so much. I absolutely cannot wait for the next book in the series, and I will be dropping everything when it’s available to read so I can read it!
I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Wow, what an adventure! Such fun dreamy characters, you instantly fall in love with each one. If you want adventure, you got it! I rode shotgun to Ireland slamming into each dip and turn on this roller coaster ride only to end up in Montenegro at the Fortress of Dormitotor with heart pounding excitement for this mission. Thrills of danger and action with a big old dose of swoony romance awaited me on every page. The bubbling, heart pounding kisses, and chemistry only add to the unknown around every corner. My husband gave me the side eye over all the chuckling and mumbling I did reading the witty banter between Ledger and Zoe, it’s epic! The excitement of each mission they pull off by the skin of their teeth will leave you holding your breath and anticipating how they would take down the art smugglers. You wrap this all in a neat package and you have a brilliant story that leaves you wanting more. The ending precariously dips into the next book and has you pondering one question…how is Meg Easton going to top this?! Was given a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.
Enemies to lovers is one of my favourite tropes, and I loved the first book in this series, so I couldn't wait to read this one! Ledger and Zoe's story did not disappoint. I enjoyed the spy action and pace of the story, but also the deeper exploration of Zoe's past and how it affected her. 'Why, Ledger, do you have to go making my heart want things it can't have?' is her central question, and her emotional journey was well handled alongside the romance plot. Plus, the swoon factor was awesome: 'Even though I'm leaning into him and he's holding me tight and security is almost to us, his kiss is still so soft and tender, like I'm a rare, undiscovered gem, showing he's so perfectly in control of the situation... I want to stand here and fake kiss Ledger all day long.' If you like action-packed romance, this is a great read for you.
'He's keeping a tally of which one of us wins missions. That's adorable, actually. It shows how much he cares about our rivalry.'
Meg Easton is rocking the romcom spy genre and I am HERE FOR IT!!
Zoe and Ledger are the perfect rivals/enemies-to-more couple and I love watching them battle it out in their missions...all while fighting an attraction to each other.
"...it's not just about a battle, is it? It's about who wins the war. And let's be honest--we both know who that's going to be."
Romantic tension is books is just so fun to read. You'll get that in spades with this book-and if you haven't read book 1, please pick that one up ASAP! This can be read as a stand alone but you will see a couple of crossover characters from book 1 and know it was such an entertaining read and I do recommend reading it as well. But, again, this book can be read as a stand alone.
The romance:
'If I was the type of woman who fell in love, Ledger would check all the boxes.'
'...all I have to do is divert my mind anytime I'm accidentally attracted to her.'
If you like to read for the swoonies, this book will fit the bill! It's fun it's witty and has a deeper side to it as well as it navigates non-ideal pasts for these characters.
All-in-all if you like a fast paced book with romance, spying/covert missions, a great set of side-characters and happy endings this book is for you!
"Good luck, have fun, and don't die." - a little spy advice from Abraham :)
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Content: off-page mentions of domestic abuse, foster care, parent abandonment, kidnapping, mild violence, romance-kisses only.
I’ve been dying to read more of this series and it was worth the wait. You want adventure? Check. Romance? A big swoony check. Sparks flying? Get a fire extinguisher ready. Heart melts? Light the candle. Everything I love wrapped in a fast paced story that reads like a favorite movie.
Objective: Tag the art and don’t get caught. Absolutely no catching hearts.
Non-negotiables: Agents must work together. We’re looking at you Zoe and Ledger. Don’t lose sight of the mission. No kissing. You don’t like each other, remember? Focus.
The debriefing: These enemy spies laid everything on the line to complete their mission. Even their hearts. Their forced proximity kept sparks popping and dialogue snappy. Moments of swoon were reported often with plenty of laughter and swoony sighs heard throughout the operation. Support staff was amazing at their jobs.
The results: I am 💯 percent in love with this book. The entire Lancaster family brought so much fun to the pages and the Director herself is the perfect role model. And Zoe tugged my heart strings all the way to the happy ending.
Future missions: Cannot wait for the next book because that family “mission” was hilarious. So curious how it’s going to connect. This mission stands alone, but I strongly encourage you to fall in love with the first book.
Mission closure: Zoe and Ledger go head to head even when they’re on the same team. Who will come out the winner and who will achieve their dream?
It isn’t like a person can judge whether or not they have a lot in common with someone based on whether or not they have matching shark bite scars.
✨✨✨✨✨
The Lancaster family is back! And this time is it Ledger who is on the mission, with his rival Zoe Steele to share in the danger. The rivalry between these two was so fun to see play out. Always trying to one up the other. Always trying to deny their true feelings. Both are the best of the best when it comes to their job. But their past joint mission experience keeps them at arms length and the guards around their hearts up.
I loved the dynamic between these two characters. The professionalism, the quirks, the inner workings of their minds. How they are so sure of certain things, yet not so sure when it comes to romantic feelings. Meg’s knowledge and use of body language for Zoe’s study of Ledger was a fun and interesting part of the story. Ledger really showed his cards though when the mission takes a turn for the worse.
This was a great addition to the Romancing the Spy series. I love this family so much. Each sibling is so unique and interesting. The epilogues were amazing and I can’t wait for Charlie and Owen!!
Many thanks to the author for my advanced copy, all opinions are own.
Meg has done it again! My goodness, I loved this book! This is the second book in her Romancing The Spy series, and though it can be read as a standalone, I highly suggest reading the series in order!
Ledger is an agent for the CSA and Zoe is an agent for the CIA. They have a history working a case together that caused a rift in their friendship, and now whenever their paths cross in missions, one is trying to best the other. It’s a huge unspoken rivalry. When they are forced to team up to work a case yes again, the close proximity forces them to take a closer look at their relationship. Ledger is ready and willing to accept his feelings.. but can he trust Zoe? Zoe has a past that makes her feel she is unlovable, and she definitely doesn’t trust Ledger.
I loved watching Zoe grow in this story! I loved how fun and crazy Ledger’s family is, and how they support eachother. There were so many laugh out loud moments and then moments where I needed a tissue. Absolutely adored this story! Can’t wait for the next book!
-enemies to lovers -kisses only -second chance romance -close proximity
OH MY GOSH. This one topped the first! The first one was five stars too, but this one had way more spy action in it, since Zoe and Ledger are rival “intelligence operatives”. If you know, you know.
Enemies to lovers is one of my favorites, and this one was perfection. I love that it didn’t take them the entire story for actual sparks to start flying.
The Lancaster brothers are some of the hottest book boyfriends to ever exist, let me tell you.
Zoe’s backstory was so heart wrenching and just made me root for her to be able to overcome her past and find love 🩷
The main mission plot of the book was so full of mystery, action, and adventure.
If you love enemies to lovers, rival spies, spy novels, happy endings, lighthearted humor, real topics, and relatable lovable characters, this one is for you!
It took me almost a month to finish but only because I drag through e-books. But a huge THANK YOU to the author for giving me an advanced copy!!
I was so looking forward to this book because I loved the first one in the series so much and LET ME TELL YOU: it doesn’t disappoint!
Ledger and Zoe have…a history. Because of that, neither is pleased to learn that their respective intelligence agencies are working on a joint mission and Zoe and Ledger are the operatives that have been chosen.
I loved all of the time on page that we got with Ledger and Zoe together. The mission was fun to go along with but even more fun to see is the insight into their shared past and why they feel the way that they do.
It was fun to have cameos of Jace and Mackenzie plus the rest of the Lancaster family. Their family is wonderful and I loved the way they wholeheartedly welcomed Zoe into their midst.
I love Ledger and Zoe together so much!!! Ah, they are so good for each other. Just read this one when it releases on Tuesday, 8/13, and thank me later. 😘
Favorite Quotes: 🔥 A few sparks might have ignited between us then— whether they were real or not didn't change the fact that those sparks then scorched the earth.
😂 …then Kella asks, "So, you're preparing for a mission with Zoe, huh?" Even though I know she knows the answer to that. Then Charlie says, "Oh! Maybe this mission will be the second act of your enemies-to-lovers arc." "My... What?" My eyebrows pull together in confusion, but I'm also pretty sure I don't want either of them to un-confuse me. "You know, a romance trope," Abraham says, surprising me. "You two start off as enemies and then you turn into love interests." "No," I say as firmly as I can to all three of them. "Absolutely not. If anything, it's the opposite of that…. we are not doing an enemies-to-lovers thing. This mission will be more of an enemies-to-worse-enemies thing.”
🤝But this? Hand holding? It feels like he's choosing me. Only me. It makes my chest feel like it's soaring.
❤️ I see zero judgment in his eyes. Just caring concern. Somehow, I just know that the story, my emotions about it, my raw and open heart— they're safe with him.
🥹”I'm here to tell you that those doubts aren't the truth. You were worthy of unfathomable love as a child, and you are worthy of unfathomable love right now. For who you are. For who you were. For who you will be. All of it. For all of you."
😍 "So," Ledger says, "you're saying you sacrificed getting the most credit for the mission for me? You sacrificed the win?" I grab hold of the bars separating us. "I think I would sacrifice pretty much anything for you."
🏠 “Ledger, my heart is a freaking mansion! And I had no idea that it was. But now that it's all open, I know that I love you with all of it. My whole mansion heart."
❤️ "If you ever want something, I have one hundred percent faith that you can figure out how to get it. There is nothing out of your reach. No matter what it is that you're reaching for - whether it has to do with our relationship, some life goal, or anything else at all, just know that I will be there with you, supporting you in whatever way you need, cheering you on."
*I received a complimentary copy from the author. All opinions are my own. No positive review was required.
– this is part of a series, but can be read as a stand-alone
– this is told from Ledger & Zoe’s points of view
– a character has abandonment issues due to living in the foster care system
– a character gets injured during the events of the story, but nothing is graphicly described about the incident
Review:
I am loving this series so much! It is so much fun to read a book that is both romcom & spies! I loved the tension between Ledger & Zoe and that we didn’t know exactly what went down between them when they had first met from the beginning of the story. It made their connection mysterious and I wanted to know more with every little bit we were given! I loved that Zoe grew in this story and opened up in ways she never thought she would. I loved that their mission(s) gave her a chance to better study Ledger and see what kind of person he was. I loved that Ledger put people over the mission when needed. He was so caring even when the other person wasn’t overly kind to him. I loved Ledger with his family too. I’m also excited to find out more about Charlie’s crush in the next book and how they end up together with her job being what it is!
Summary:
Ledger has been frustrated with CIA operative Zoe ever since they met. He thought they had something once, but that had been dashed after an operation turned differently than he expected. Now, Ledger finds himself constantly coming across Zoe on missions and sometimes he wins while other times she does. He will do anything to stay ahead of her, but when their recent cross lands them in a place where they have to work together, Ledger finds himself fighting off feelings for Zoe that he thought he’d long since buried…
Zoe finds going against Ledger to be the perfect challenge to hone her skills in the field, so it is lucky that their ops cross as much as they do. But with her desire to win any challenge presented to her on her own, Zoe finds it hard to allow anyone else to take control. Especially when it comes to Ledger. So when their missions cross to the point of needing to work together for both missions to succeed, Zoe has some qualms with it. It also doesn’t help that she’s able to thoroughly read people’s body language. And that Ledger’s body language seems to point to being interested in her…
This was just as cute as the first one! I love the spy theme and, in this one particularly, the rivalry between Ledger and Zoe. There was the same fun banter and hot chemistry between the two as in the first one and we learn more about the Lancaster family. I also liked the exploration of Zoe’s background and why she feels the need to be the best at her position. The missions were interesting and provided great locations for them to fall in love. Looking forward to the next one in the series.
This was really, really cute! A little cheesy, but I enjoy that. The ensemble of characters are all really endearing. I especially loved the romance in this one! Such a fun and easy to read series, I’m looking forward to the third installment.
Favorite Quote: “This. This is why I’m falling for Zoe all over again. Maybe I never stopped falling for her. She may intimidate, track, engage, and neutralize bad guys, navigate danger zones fearlessly, and break into high-security installations with the best of them. She might also be difficult to trust and always thinks her way is best. But we’ve crossed paths a lot— enough for me to know that she will always look out for the underdog, the vulnerable, the forgotten, the overlooked.”
Y’all!! Meg just knows how to write the perfect suspenseful romcom!
The immediate chemistry between Ledger and Zoe was impeccable. I think them already having history together and learning bits and pieces of it throughout, helped the relationship not feel so rushed.
When momma Lancaster came to Zoe’s place!🥹
Overall, I really liked this one! The tension mixed with the banter, mixed with the family dynamic, made this story one I will definitely be rereading! Especially after that second epilogue! 😆😆😆
Thank you to the author for the advance copy, all thoughts are my own.

Spies Don't Fall for their Rival is a knee-slapping good time but also with moments of angst. At first Zoe and Ledger do not get along and have a running tally of mission wins. Then when they are flung together, they compete to see who will win that mission, but something else entirely happens between them. With them being rivals, their banter is top-notch and I could have cut the tension between them with a cheese knife. I laughed out loud plenty of times. The family mission they go on for Charlie has me so excited for her story. And also the second epilogue. Hilarious! To balance out the humor, Meg includes some angsty moments that will leave you wanting to weep. Zoe has had a rough life, moving from foster home to foster home. I definitely wept for her, and just wanted to be her friend. Ledger is so good for her and to her as their relationship blossoms. I seriously enjoyed this second book and am eager for more!
If you enjoyed Date with Danger and book 1: Spies Don't Fall for their Asset, then you will definitely enjoy this delectable treat that will tug on your heartstrings.
Content Warnings: kisses only, mild violence involving physical force and stun guns, theft/robbery, no swearing Trigger Warnings: Foster care system/home
I received a copy of the ebook from the author. All thoughts are my own.
This is definitely one of my favorite series! I absolutely adore this family of spies. Ledger and Zoe brought all the competitiveness in this book and I was so excited for the adventure!
Ledger and Zoe, working for different agencies, often cross paths while off on a mission, competing with each other along the way and keeping score. But this time, they actually have to WORK together on the same mission. At first this seems like an impossible feat, but once they start to get to know each other and trust each other more, it’s obvious that this is a dream operative team up! But the best part? There’s already a history between our main characters, and feelings start to emerge all over again! I absolutely loved seeing Ledger and Zoe both try to fight what they’re feeling for the other while obviously falling deeper and deeper. Their relationship progresses steadily over the course of the book and while there is SOME drama and self doubt, it’s also very realistic and you understand the characters point of view. I liked getting more background information on a lot of the characters and each interaction with the family has me more and more eager for the rest of their stories! I especially can’t wait for Blake!
This was a great story that kept you engaged and had a great ending that leaves you happy. Definitely recommend this series!
I received an advanced copy of this book from the author. I was not required to leave a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
