Discover what happens when a young woman unexpectedly finds herself inside a book of fairytales where she is charged with breaking a frog prince's curse and searching for a way home.

Every good fairytale begins with "Once Upon a Time," or they're supposed to at least. But for twenty-five year old Josephine Hart, her "Once Upon a Time" began with her literally crash landing inside a book of fairy tales and nearly crushing a frog—who is actually a prince. An annoying, snarky frog prince named Aneurin, seeking the kiss of true love to break his curse. He vows that if Jo agrees to help him find his princess, he will get her home.

With every turn of the page, their adventure leads them deeper into fairytales familiar to Jo. Through their journey, they discover that despite their initial clashing, they're both exactly what each other needs. It is only when they encounter a devious man with a talent for spinning straw into gold that they realize just how quickly their plot can take an unexpected twist.

Such a cute and whimsical read!!! And Jo and Aneurin are officially one of my fav OTPs of all time💞

Thank you so much to the author for sending me an E-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

We follow our FMC Josephine who's back at her parents' house cuz of her cancelled engagement. That makes her lose all hope in love, and she starts to question her worth and sinks into a rabbit hole of introspecting where she went wrong. And when she crosses paths with an old book of fairytales, she decides to read it for comfort but little did she know that she's going to have the adventure of her life!!! Jo gets sucked into the world of fairytales and encounters the sassy frog prince with whom she strikes a deal - to help him find his true love, in return for helping her get back home.

More than being a love story, this book was about finding yourself back again - it's Jo's journey of self discovery and healing!! Along the way, she learns to appreciate her good qualities, overcomes her heartbreak and convinces herself that she's worthy of love and a happily ever after. She finds both in the unexpected of places - in a fairytale.

We see most of Prince Aneurin in his amphibian form because of his curse, and he comes across as an entitled and annoying arse at first. He constantly throws jabs at Jo, and I was living for their constant back and forth!!! He's also so dramatic even for the smallest things lol
- "I shall follow Josephine. And if it is to cliffs, where there is a chance I might meet my peril, then so be it."🤭
Aneurin changes a lot over the course of the journey - he goes from being an obnoxious prick to a well behaved and caring prince who understands Jo pretty well.

"I wasn't of his world, and he was only a fictional character in mine." - Their love story was swoon-worthy and adorable! It was such a SLOWBURN and I was here for it!!!
- "Will you promise to stay with me this time?"
"Until the last page."🥺💞

The writing was so evocative with vivid descriptions of the surroundings, lush world and intriguing characters. Even though we're familiar with the fairytales we come across here, the author throws her own spin on it and I appreciate that! I loved the character of Arch a lot, we got very little of him but Jo found a great friend in him and I love that for her!!

Overall, this was a delightful read and I'd recommend it for all fairytale lovers like me!! And I'm so ready to read anything the author writes next!!!

What if you suddenly find yourself inside a fairytale book, tasked with breaking a frog prince’s curse while navigating your way back home?

This enchanting, whimsical novel is a delightful reminder that there’s always space in our hearts for fairytales and that we’re never too old for magical stories with happy endings.

Go on an adventure with a snarky, pompous frog prince as you search for the princess who can break his curse with a kiss. Along the way, you'll try to save Hansel and Gretel, stay with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (men?), strike deals with Rumpelstiltskin (yes, I needed autocorrect for that one), and attend a grand ball with Prince Charming!

But it’s not all smooth sailing—danger lurks at every turn!

Though it might be a bit predictable and carry some Disney vibes, this book kept me thoroughly entertained. It features a slow-burn romance full of witty banter and no spicy content.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves fairytales!

Thanks to HiddenGemsBooks and Chantal Gadoury for the digital ARC of this book!

I was honored to be chosen as ARC reader for Until the Last Page and would 100% do it again. I love any kind of fairytale retelling and this was no different. In fact it might have been one of my favorite fairytale retellings so far. Jo and Aneurin, the frog prince don't seem to care much for each other in the beginning but as the book continues we see them growing close and falling in love. Personally their banter with each other made the book that much more enjoyable for me. I found myself laughing and wondering how the high and mighty seeming frog prince would respond to Jo's sharp remarks. It made me smile like books haven't done in a long time. Another thing I love about this book is how it incorporates multiple fairytales into the story including The Princess and the Frog, Snow White, Hansel and Gretel, Rumpelstiltskin, and Cinderella. Not only does the author pay ohmage to the original fairytales but she gives them a refreshing modern twist that makes them even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this book and can't wait to see what happens in book 2.

This was a fun read! I liked the ending and can’t wait to read the next one! I don’t know if it was somehow just my copy or if it’s the book itself, but there were a lot, A LOT, of typos in this book. I still enjoyed the book though!

"I always find myself drawn to books no matter where I am."

"Books can truly be an escape if we allow them to be."

I have truly found another book that spoke to the dreams I always have. To my inner bookish person. A journey of true love, stories, and fairytales... this was a joy to read on so many levels. And all the little "cameos" tied together... even better!
I really hope those whole enjoy fairytales, happy endings, adventure, love, and retellings... I hope you pick this book up and enjoy it just as much as I did.

I received a digital ARC though all thoughts are my own.

This was such a neat spin on The Princess and the Frog with a few other Fairytales included. I loved the magic, how there was so much more depth to the characters than some versions of the tales have shown and surprises along the way.

I can't wait to see what next Josephine and a special someone will be drawn into and the adventures to be had.

Highly recommend this book!

If you love fairytale retellings and are after a fun read, pick up this book!

Jo gets to live out our dream of being sucked into (literally!) the book she's reading. She's cares about everyone she comes across, even if they are supposed to be fictional, and is determined to help them in any way she can. Aneurin is a classic stuck up prince when we first meet him, and he gets some wonderful character development.

The story was a joy to read. Thank you Chantal for the copy!

I had the privilege of reading an ARC of Until the Last Page…and I absolutely loved this sweet romantasy. It’s been a long time since I haven’t wanted a book to end.

Jo and Aneurin stole my heart, and found their banter and chemistry to be top notch. I was definitely rooting for them to get together! Jo was an active protagonist and easy to root for. I also loved her relationship with her family. Our frog prince, Aneurin, was so sassy and high and mighty. It was a pleasure watching them grow as characters and slowly realizing they’re in love.

Fairytales that they travel through included The Princess and the Frog, Snow White, Hansel and Gretel, Rumpelstiltskin, and Cinderella. I adored watching the fairytales I loved as a young girl come to life, but with a modern twist.

This is told in first person POV, from Jo’s perspective throughout.

It ends with a HEA but on a bit of a cliffhanger that I feel leads nicely in book 2…which I cannot wait for.

*Until the Last Page* by Chantal Gadoury is a whimsical and heartfelt adventure that takes readers on a journey through familiar fairy tales, but with fresh twists and unexpected turns. The novel follows 25-year-old Josephine Hart, who, reeling from a cancelled engagement and grappling with feelings of self-doubt, finds herself quite literally pulled into the pages of a magical fairytale book. Suddenly, Jo is tasked with breaking the curse of an infuriatingly snarky frog prince named Aneurin while searching for a way to return to her real life.

What starts as a reluctant partnership between Jo and Prince Aneurin quickly turns into a compelling exploration of self-discovery, healing, and unexpected love. Jo, nursing her broken heart, isn't just looking to help Aneurin find his true love and break his curse—she's also on a journey to rediscover her own worth and learn that happily ever afters aren't just for fairy tales.

One of the highlights of the book is the witty and often hilarious dynamic between Jo and Aneurin. Their banter is sharp and filled with tension, providing many laugh-out-loud moments as Jo navigates her new reality and the ever-sarcastic frog prince pushes her buttons. As the story unfolds, however, both characters undergo significant growth, and the snarky, entitled Aneurin gradually transforms into a more understanding and kind-hearted prince. Watching these two characters develop and grow closer is one of the most rewarding aspects of the book.

The story doesn’t just revolve around the central romance, though. Gadoury does a brilliant job of weaving together multiple classic fairy tales—*The Princess and the Frog, Cinderella, Snow White, Hansel and Gretel,* and *Rumpelstiltskin*—all while adding her own unique twists that keep the plot exciting and unpredictable. Each fairy tale encounter brings something new to the table, and even though readers may be familiar with these stories, Gadoury’s refreshing take breathes new life into them.

The worldbuilding is vivid and imaginative, with lush descriptions that transport readers into a magical realm. The writing is engaging and encapsulates that comforting feeling of being lost in a good book. Gadoury balances light-hearted humor with moments of emotional depth, creating a story that is both heartwarming and fun.

At its core, *Until the Last Page* is more than just a retelling of classic fairy tales—it’s a story about finding yourself again after heartbreak, realizing your worth, and discovering that sometimes, love and magic can be found in the most unexpected of places. Josephine’s journey to rebuild her confidence and learn to embrace her own strengths is both relatable and empowering, making this a perfect read for anyone who has ever doubted their own "happily ever after."

Overall, *Until the Last Page* is an enchanting blend of romance, adventure, and humor. It’s a delightful escape into a world of fairy tales, where the lessons learned and emotions explored feel as real as any story set in our own. Highly recommended for fans of fairytale retellings and magical adventures with a heart. I can’t wait to see where Jo and Aneurin’s story goes next!

I really loved the premise of this book! It takes a modern day person who is literally sucked into a world of fairytales. We start with the frog prince, who ends up being her companion, and go through stories such a Hansel and Gretel, Snow White, Rumplestiltskin, and Cinderella and they all kind of blend. If you loved the show Once Upon a Time, you’ll really love this one!
I loved the banter between Jo and the frog — really Prince Aneurin— and how they slowly start warming up to each other as they move through the stories together and tackle them.
I also really loved how the ending wraps up and she’s brought back to the modern world, as it really did feel like a fairy tale.

“I knew what was coming next. I knew this story, didn’t I?”
“Many are deceived by kindness. No one can fault anyone for such a thing.”

Cute and magical fairytale retelling with self discovery and healing.

Nice, different spin on familiar fairytales. I liked how the fairytales were connected to each others and also to the real world. I also liked how the FMC was balancing between the fairytale world and the real world.

The writing was descriptive and made me feel like I was in a middle of a fairytale.

4/5⭐️

Being a pretty princess running through the forest to get away from your stepmother’s assassin and then taking shelter in the home of seven men is cool in theory, but maybe traumatizing in reality. Nevertheless, haven’t we all wished we could run away into our favourite stories? This was a cozy little fantasy in which Josephine, our protagonist, ends up in a book of fairytales and has to save the characters inside so they can reach the conclusion of their respective stories, while making a few twists along the way. Accompanying her is an arrogant prince… cursed to be a frog. Fairytale lovers, whether Disney or Grimm, will find this delightful. I personally was having a great time and flew through the book until the last page (haha). I’m hoping the sequel is announced soon. This is a spice free romance (and thank goodness, because he’s a frog for most of the book).

* I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book that I received from Hidden gems. *

Who hasn't imagined themselves as part of a story they felt engaged by? Josephine doesn't just imagine she's a part of the story, she is actually pulled inside the book. Along with a frog prince she navigates some well known stories. I enjoyed how she balanced being a part of the tale and also staying apart since it isn't her story. Her budding relationship with the prince was lovely to see unfold. The ending is a cliffhanger. Not a huge fan of that but I do want to read more. If you enjoy unique takes on fairytales you will like this book. There is enough suspense and uniqueness to round out the cuteness.

I think we all imagined what we would do if we were ever in the fairytales we read about as a kid, how we would feel being in that story. Well now you can, Jo moves back home after finding her fiancé cheating, but when she gets gifted a fairytale book from a lady at a sale, she finds herself travelling through the tales we are all familiar with, but what happens when she finds herself a companion that leads her to no longer want to go home?

"Until the Last Page" by Chantal Gadoury is a delightful escapade into the heart of fairy tales, blending nostalgia with fresh twists that keep the reader engaged from start to finish. As someone who has cherished fairy tales since childhood, I was immediately drawn into Josephine Hart's unexpected journey into a book where fairy tale characters come to life.

Gadoury masterfully intertwines familiar elements from classic tales with her own imaginative spins, creating a narrative that feels both nostalgic and refreshingly unpredictable. Jo's interaction with Aneurin, the snarky yet endearing frog prince seeking to break his curse, is filled with witty banter that evolves into a heartwarming friendship and budding romance. Despite Aneurin's initial pompous demeanor, his underlying goodness shines through as he and Josephine navigate their way through enchanted forests and treacherous challenges.

I appreciated Gadoury's homage to the various iterations of fairy tales over the years, from the Grimm brothers' versions to beloved Disney classics. Her ability to blend these influences while crafting a new, cohesive story universe is commendable. Each twist in the plot kept me eagerly turning pages, especially the unexpected encounter with a cunning antagonist skilled in turning straw into gold, which added an intriguing layer of suspense.

The cliffhanger ending left me yearning for more, eager to uncover the next chapter in Jo and Aneurin's enchanting tale. I look forward to diving back into this fantastical world in the sequel, eager to see where their adventures lead next and what new fairy tales await.

"Until the Last Page" is a charming read for anyone who loves fairy tales, offering a blend of nostalgia, romance, and adventure that will captivate readers of all ages. It earns a solid four stars for its imaginative storytelling, lovable characters, and captivating twists that breathe new life into beloved tales.

I’ve promised myself that I wouldn’t request any more books until I’ve cleared out my ARC schedule. To be honest, I was doing an admirable job until the blurb for Until the Last Page popped into my inbox. I’m a huge fairytale retelling fan and there was no way I could pass on a book that’s about a woman who is unexpectedly transported into a world of familiar fairytales with a mission to break a curse and find true love’s kiss. I’m so glad I broke that promise to myself because Until the Last Page is absolutely fantastic!

One of my favorite parts of Until the Last Page was getting the opportunity to revisit classic fairytales from a fresh perspective. I loved that everything felt so familiar, while at the same time, contained enough delightful differences that I couldn’t anticipate how everything would play out. If I’m being honest, it took me a little over a day to read the whole book! Simply put, I was enchanted from the first chapter and had to know what would happen next!

Another standout aspect for me about Until the Last Page is that the book contains absolutely zero spice (sweet kisses, but nothing more). It’s so rare to find an adult romantic fantasy that isn’t open door. Although I do read books that are considered spicy, I really appreciated that the focus of the novel was more about friendship and true love, which, I felt, was the perfect vibe for a book about classic fairytales.

As I got closer to the end of the novel, I began to to feel both excitement over how things would unfold and dread that I would have to say goodbye to these charming characters and the magical world they live in. It turns out that I didn’t need to worry because there will be a sequel!!🥳 I absolutely cannot wait to continue with this story!

Bottom Line: If you are a fan of fairytale retellings and sweet romance, do yourself a favor are read Until the Last Page!

In the pages, you will find:
❤️Enemies-to-friends-to-lovers
🐸A Prince with too many names
🏡A real life gingerbread house
🗺️Far off places and magical spells
🌳7 men living in a treehouse
😘A kiss of true love
🎬Perfect for fans of The Princess Bride and Once Upon a Time
📖A delightful book you won’t be able to put down!

Book review Until the Last Page by: Chantal Gadoury

This book was so adorable and full of whimsy! I loved Josephine and Aneurin

Jo start in this story felt so relatable to me being back home after a broken engagement and having her mind questioning everything! I loved how she turned to the fairytales for comfort and instead went on a fantastic adventure when she finds herself inside the book! I loved the plot and storyline of this book as the two MCs work together to find love and get back home!

I really loved the learning to love yourself and looking to the good in you rather than focusing on all the bad. I loved the self discovery.

This story is enchanting and so rich with vivid descriptions. I loved the little bits of detail about the fairytales we all know but she puts her own spin on it with her writing and I really liked that.

Now on to the prince… Aneurin is a frog a lot in this book and is not my favorite in the beginning but he does go through a lot of changes. There is definitely lovely tension between them and well let’s just say he is a very passionate person a little too much. But it makes him who he is and by the end of the story you’ll love him!

But this story really was just perfect you get time with other characters from the fairytales and it was just so sweet and a lovely story for those who grew up wishing we could be along side our favorite fairytales.

This book is so swoon worthy and it’s the most delicious slow burn that you just do not want to stop reading it! Did I mention the banter I might have but it’s fine it’s worth mentioning again! Definitely check this story out!

Loved these quotes:

"I always find myself drawn to books no matter where I am."

“Will you promise to stay with me this time?"
"Until the last page."🥺💞 melted to a puddle on the floor!!

"I shall follow Josephine. And if it is to cliffs, where there is a chance I might meet my peril, then so be it."

"I wasn't of his world, and he was only a fictional character in mine."

Until the Last Page is a delightful blend of fantasy and romance that takes readers on a whimsical journey through beloved fairytales. The story follows Josephine Hart, a modern-day woman who finds herself unexpectedly transported into a book of fairy tales. Her mission: to help a snarky frog prince named Aneurin break his curse and find his true love.

The premise itself is charming and imaginative, inviting readers to revisit familiar fairy tales with a fresh perspective. The author skillfully weaves together elements from classic stories, creating a world that is both nostalgic and original. Josephine and Aneurin's dynamic is particularly enjoyable, with their initial bickering gradually giving way to a blossoming friendship and, eventually, something more.

The plot is filled with twists and turns, keeping readers engaged and guessing what will happen next. The introduction of a villainous figure adds a layer of intrigue and tension, ensuring that the story never becomes too predictable. The author's writing style is both engaging and accessible, making it easy for readers of all ages to immerse themselves in the world of the book.

While the story's overall tone is lighthearted and fun, there are also moments of emotional depth and character development. Josephine's journey of self-discovery and growth is particularly compelling, as she learns to embrace her own unique qualities and find her place in the fantastical world she now inhabits.

Overall, Until the Last Page is a charming and entertaining read that will appeal to fans of fantasy, romance, and fairy tales. The author's ability to create a believable and engaging world, combined with the witty dialogue and endearing characters, make this book a delightful escape from reality.

I have read a couple of Chantal Gadoury's young adult novels—The Songs in Our Hearts and The Songs We Remember (The Songs in Our Hearts #2)—and thoroughly enjoyed them. I looked forward to reading Until the Last Page, although I wasn't too sure about the fairy tale aspect. I'm sure of it now!

The concept, although fanciful, is believable and enjoyable in the context. The characters are well developed. The reimaging of well-known fairy tales kept my attention throughout. It's an easy read and very well written. The adventure scenes are exceptionally described.

However, as I read, I saw that this was more than a light fantasy novel. The main character, Josephine, is rethinking how she relates to others. She is realizing that she has been acting to please others rather than be true to herself. She is learning who she is and growing stronger as a person in her thoughts and actions. She begins to live true to herself, not just to please others. This aspect of her character is gently woven into the story.

I recommend this book and look forward to the sequel.

Josephine's relationship with her fiancé and best friend ends. Unintentionally gifted a book, Jo takes this opportunity as a distraction away from her past; however, once she reads the opening out loud she is propelled into a world of fairytales, encountering first a frog, then Hansel and Gretel, then Snow-White. What should be a simple task of finding the frog's true love and getting back home becomes a much more complex journey in the world of fairytales, encountering further characters with obstacles only Jo can help overcome. The characters are traditional but the narratives are adapted to suit the story. This is an enemy-to-lover story, following a sarcastic but endearing woman and an annoying but witty frog.

After getting her heart broken Joe moves back in with her loving parents while out at in estate sale Joe was given a fairytale book but when she goes home Joe gets sucked into the fairytale in the first “person“ she runs across is the frog, who used to be a prince. To say they get off on the wrong foot or webbed limb is an understatement. All Jo wants to do is get back home and all The prince wants to do is go back to being a prince. So they come to an unfriendly agreement and adventure in Sue’s.
To say this book was so much fun in my opinion is not stating it correctly this book was Uber amount of fun from Hansel and Gretel to Snow White The familiar characters never sees showing up and although the dwarfs didn’t have the same names as in the book I still have nothing negative to say about this great romantic adventure. Except I cannot wait for the next book. #HiddenGems, #TheLastPage,

This was such a fun retelling, and has the fun and banter you’d expect from The Princess Bride and the ordinary turned extraordinary of Once Upon A Time. I think my favorite part is this isn’t just a romantic retelling - it’s also a journey of discovery and personal growth. Josephine’s journey was absolutely beautiful. She’s feeling a bit lost and broken when we first get to meet her, which is understandable given the circumstances. Aneurin wasn’t my favorite at first, but I warmed up to him as I got deeper into the story. They both had quite a bit of growth over the course of the story, and watching them grow while the slow burn romance was progressing was wonderful. The descriptions are so vivid, it feels like you’ve been pulled in right alongside Josephine, and it feels odd to return to the real world. A must-read for anyone who enjoys fairy tales.

The way this book brought my dreams of living out fairytales, but in such a new and unique light!

The world built - a book within a book - consisted of all of our well-known and favorite fairytales blended together to create a new story for us to love. Gadoury touches on many different versions of the fairytales and they’re all paid their proper homages.

While we do get a semblance of the HEA at the end, it’s open-ended enough for us readers to demand a second book!! Let’s rally for it please bc I’m DESPERATE! I hope we get to revisit some of the friends we made along the way and then go on to see more.

Thank you Chantal Gadoury for a copy of this eARC in exchange for an honest review!

This was a really cute fairytale retellings book. This book is every girls dream when she was growing up and maybe even now. Who wouldn’t want to be found inside a fairytale. I really enjoyed Josephine’s character. She then finds the frog prince with whom she’s been given the task of breaking the curse. Aneurin is hoping that if Josephine can break his curse then he will help with her finding her way home. The many adventures they endure through out all the fairytales they fall into are a lot. I love how well written Chantal wrote this book. She has a beautiful mind.

I was provided this book as an ARC. This book made me nostalgic for the tv show, Once Upon a Time, for its intertwining of fairytales and connection to the real world and was written in a style reminiscent of The Princess Bride. I loved the imagining of Snow White's dwarves, and the magical twist near the end of the novel. At times I felt as if the FMC could not decide whether to take her predicament seriously or to fully immerse herself in the world, and I was waiting for more of her backstory with her ex-fiance to be explained. I would definitely reread the final version and look forward to seeing what comes next in Book 2!

If you like fairytale retellings this is the book for you! It is absolutely lovely and intertwines many tales together, but is directed at an older audience than most fairytales! This is for those still holding on to their childhood stories from their young adult years well into the rest of their lives. This book is wonderfully written, with great world building and so many lovable characters. I really hope in the future tales the author weaves characters from the old ones back in. Everything in this beautiful book is pieced together beautifully and I’m so grateful I got the opportunity to arc read this amazing novel and share my opinions!

This was a cute enjoyable book I'd received a copy via Hidden Gems to read. Loved the premise of this fantasy story of our (h) Josephine Hart while going on an estate-sale with her mom who gets sucked into a book that she was given and (H) Aneurin our Frog Prince that she nearly squashed. Their journey as she helps him find his true one was an enchanted delightful adventurous read with fairy tales added in. Loved our characters and the story was well written and an engaging read. I volunteer to read and review this copy I'd received.
