Play Call by Lisa Suzanne

5/5 stars

Play Call is the addictive second book in the Vegas Aces: The Coach series. And I loved it just as much as the first one.

They both think about that kiss a lot. And they both are utterly consumed by it.
Jolene finds out that Lincoln might have faked this career stopping injury. And Lincoln realizes she still has the ability to see right through him.

Lincoln is going to give a commencement speech at a university. And Jolene has to go as well to report on it. They end up on the same plane next to each other. And when they arrive at the same hotel Jolene finds out she doesn't have a room and everything is booked in the near vicinity. Lincoln offers her to stay in his room since he has a suite. She reluctantly agrees and when they enter the room they realize it isn't a suit but a room with one bed.

And that is what kickstarts the story. The fire between them burns even brighter and hotter and the flames keep on rising and rising.

There is one particular scene in the shower that had me grinning like an idiot. No, they are not showering together. So read this beauty to find out what had me grinning!

I just love how they evolve. And quickly they connect. How they are open and honest about their feelings. Their whispers set me on fire.

This is such an addictive series! I recommend it to each and every one of you. 5 huge stars from me for this brilliant book!

The Kiss – memorable, but in the wrong context; damaging, even career ending. The kiss that lingers in memory is tempting but could cause problems if there are more.

Lincoln continues building his coaching staff and preparing for introductions and the first Wild ACES Charity Ball. But his feelings for Jolene are clouding his decisions. Secrets and a plan might work, but outside forces from the man, who feels he should have had Jolene’s job, are making it uncomfortable.

Family drama/rivalry is still strong, and Lincoln’s father is watching. I am anxious for book three; in true Lisa Suzanne fashion, we are left hanging at the end. I also have a feeling there is way more drama to be had.

Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

Incredible Drama Continues

Oh, my are things getting even stickier for the Las Vegas Aces new coach and the team’s news correspondent. Nash and Jolene’s feelings are getting the better of them but they believe this is something they need to keep under wraps to the extent of using Jolene’s best friend as a decoy. It all sounded good but jealousy has a way of rearing its ugly head.

Then we have to add in Rivera the man who thought he should have gotten Jolene’s job with the Aces who also happens to be holding something over Jolene’s head. He is totally creeping on Jolene and is getting to the point of being scary. I cannot wait to see what Ms. Suzanne has in store next for our couple.

I received an ARC copy of this book. Lisa Suzanne does it again. Leaves us on a cliff hanger waiting for book 3 to find out what happens! This one definitely had a slower start to the first book, but following the pattern of her series, we know we have to work up to the good stuff. Now I’m waiting to find out what happens based on the end of the book, and how everything will work out, something I love about Suzanne’s writing… it always ends in a happy ending!

Play Call is part two of five in the Vegas Aces: The Coach series. At the end of part one, Lincoln Nash, the new coach of the Vegas Aces, and Jolene Bailey, the team’s media correspondent, share a kiss that could be career-ending. Making matters worse, one of Jolene's rivals sees the kiss, and they are worried he will TELL IT ALL.

In this book, Jolene and Lincoln travel to Ohio so Lincoln can give the commencement speech at his alma mater. Jolene is there to cover the event for work. Unfortunately, a booking mistake leaves Jolene without a hotel room for the trip. Lincoln suggests she stay in his room. This unexpected situation rekindles old feelings, and things heat up. To keep Jolene's rival at bay and their relationship a secret, they pretend Lincoln is dating Jolene's best friend.

I'm really enjoying this series. I love how the story is evolving. I am not a fan of Lincoln pretending to date Sam. I hope she does not cause issues in the future. Things are also getting tricky with Lincoln's parents moving close. It will be much more difficult for them to hide their love from everyone, and I imagine they will have to lie a lot to protect their peace. They have to be careful because any small slip-up could harm their careers. The tension is palpable, and the cliffhanger makes me ready to jump into the next book.

Narration:
Samantha Brentmoor and Aaron Shedlock narrate the story using dual-style narration. Their performances made it easy for me to get caught up in this story. Samantha and Aaron are the perfect voices for Jolene and Lincoln, and they really bring the characters to life. They bring the passion, tension, and all the emotions associated with Jolene and Lincoln's forbidden romance.

Thanks to Lisa Suzanne and Valentine PR for providing a gifted audiobook. Opinions expressed are my own.

I was given an ARC of this book from the author for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

We're back with Lincoln and Jolene in book 2 of their story as they navigate how to be around each other and not want to jump each others' bones constantly hahah The family rivalry is in full swing, as somehow, Lincoln's father has eyes everywhere.

On a trip to Ohio for Lincoln to give a speech at his alma mater, Jolene follows, as she is assigned coverage for work. A mix-up with the hotel room forces Lincoln and Jolene in a room together. And, yep, you guessed it, there's only one bed. They try to play nice, be friendly and kind, but their passion explodes in that shared bed. And there's no turning back.

To keep their relationship secret, Jo's roommate and best friend suggests that she fake date Lincoln - this would help Lincoln and Jolene see each other more often. But can that actually be detrimental? Why do I feel like Sam is gonna want Lincoln for herself, and she will sabotage Jo? Why did I have a knot in my stomach through this whole book? The angst and drama is ramping up as the stakes are getting higher - Lincoln's parents are moving to Vegas. Not ideal. Not even a little bit.

The tension is ramped up to 11 in this installment, and the ending had me biting my nails. Lisa is definitely the Empress of Cliffhangers at this point - she's way past queen now! Book 3 cannot get here fast enough!

Play Call is a sizzling sequel in the Vegas Aces: The Coach series that throws Jolene and Lincoln together for a whirlwind weekend of passion and buried emotions. One failed hotel reservation forces them into a single bed, reigniting feelings from two decades ago. Bound by family rivalry and professional rules, they know they can’t be together, so a fake relationship becomes their only option. With a jealous colleague watching closely, their every move is a risk, but the chemistry between them is undeniable. The narrators truly bring this story to life, infusing every scene with emotion and tension, making you feel the passion between Jolene and Lincoln. It's definitely a must listen!

This is the second book in the Vegas aces coach series. It is a 5 book series that is promising to be just as amazing if not even more so than previous Vegas aces books. Each of the stories for Vegas aces is split into 5 books. I am loving getting to know coach(Lincoln) and Jolene. Their chemistry and the build up has been amazing. The backstory just adds to it. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for them in the next 3 books. I definitely recommend reading the other previous Vegas aces stories just so you know all of the returning characters and their stories though it isn’t going to make these books impossible to understand if you don’t.

This book should come with a warning label - too hot to handle!! Be prepared - It’s going to take you on a wild ride with some pretty steamy, HOT scenes!

Coach Nash has always been known as a risk taker, but he’s always played it safe with his personal life. Until, Jolene Bailey walked back into his life. Now, after one amazing weekend, he wants what he can’t have; and, he’s ready to take the biggest risk he’s ever taken to get it. Will a secret relationship work for them?

Another fast paced listened audiobook wraith fantastic narration by Aaron Shedlock and Samantha Brentmoor!
This is Play Call Book 2 The Coach in the Vegas Aces series .
The narrators in this story as always gave a phenomenal performance bring to life the characters throughout this series and I very much enjoyed listening to them weaving their magic !

Ok let’s get to this,

The story picked right up from the ending of the last book ..
although things got a whole lot better after Linc and Jolene the long time enemies Shared KISS!
The kiss that lead them exposing themselves especially to Jolene rival Riviera who believes she slept her way to getting the job he so coveted as the Aces Team Correspondent.

✨A trip across the country to cover an event plus one failed hotel room reservation means there's only one bed for me to share with the new Vegas Aces head coach✨

That Kiss also made them both realize that whatever they felt years ago wasn’t gone and it’s only progress further after sharing one bed at an event Lincoln had to attend with Jolene ..
oh yes whoever thought that nothing would happen was definitely wrong as once again the passionate weekend together only solidified their desire for each other and leave them wanting more despite their differences about why it’s a bad idea.

✨We've been fighting each other nonstop as we push against the past, but it only takes one weekend for feelings two decades old to come rushing back.✨

They both felt as if they are betraying their family but can’t seem to keep their hands to themselves.

✨We can't be together. The reasons keep stacking up, from our bitter family rivalry to the fact that he can't get involved with a member of the media to the accusations regarding the way I scored this job.✨

So these crazy lovers agreed to a plan devise by Jolene BestFriend.. and I’m just gonna say this right here .. STUPID Dumb decision they ever agreed to ..
Jesus I see this going so wrong .. there’s so many scenarios about how this could blow up spinning in my head that I’m dizzy.

✨ So my best friend proposes a fake relationship. He'll date her in public and come home to me, where we can get to know each other again and figure out whether there's a future for us.✨

What in the world have Jolene and Nash agreed to?

Once again Lisa Suzanne doesn’t disappoint us as she leaves us in yet another suspenseful episode with a very bad feeling about Lincoln and Jolene bad decisions.

✨I'm shocked when Lincoln agrees to the plan, but a scorned colleague of mine is watching our every move. We have to be careful or it'll become the kind of play call the coach will forever regret✨

Lord with Samantha Brentmoor and Aaron Shedlock performance, it only helps ratcheting up my anxiety about the upcoming book !

Woohoo! The spice is UP!

Play Call is the second installment in the Vegas Aces, The Coach Series and must be read after Penalty (prequel) and Rivalry, book #1, respectively.

The turmoil is about to seriously begin for Licoln and Jolene!
Feelings are raw and convoluted, the desire runs deep as deep as the guilt and internal conflict between the duty to the family, to their jobs and their heart that seems to beat only for one another and a trip to Ohio...
A hotel booking providentially missing and Coach Nash, a gentleman at heart, body and soul saves the damsel in distress and offers shelter because, why not? They're professionals, after all!
One bed, two very different anatomies and you have...a receipt for a very hot, sweaty and swoon-worthy disaster!
What happens in Ohio, stays in Ohio, right? Wrong.
It goes to Vegas, happens in Vegas and stays in Vegas.....for now. They're hoping it doesn't go anywhere else....

We are only in the second book and I am already in such an excitement to know what the future reserves for Jolene and Lincoln!
Their love is real, requited and unique! They are 🥵🥵🔥🔥🥵🥵 for each other and proof enough is the fact that it only took a step in the right direction, a decandent entanglement in a hotel room after twenty years apart for them to know what started so long ago is still there as pure and undiluted as it began.
One thing is for sure, our protagonists are fighting in several fronts, a great scandal in all its dimensions and it's time for a play call that, surprisingly, does not come from coach Nash.
The intention is good and well natured, I think, although complex and tricky, and I really hope Jolene's worries are just the stress of both being in such a delicate predicament and the tiny jealousy of seeing her man on another woman's arm, even under false pretenses.

The narrative flows fast and furious, full of strategies, incandescent trysts and the weight of a conditioned position. For now, we know the game, the team and the adversaries. We just don't know the rules or the score...
The thing is, once you tell a lie, you'll have to tell another and another to support the first one and that can very well explode in your face or in your heart....

Will their undercover love withstand the tests and trials of the jobs, family, public and their own playcalling?

This was such an engaging and thrilling episode! It's those kinds of interludes you can feel in you bones, living vicariously through our characters physical qualms and inner quarels, experiencing their struggles and small victories, for now...

Can't wait to get more!

Author Lisa Suzanne has book 2 Play Call from Vegas Aces: The Coach series picking right up off of the cliffhanger of book 1 Rivalry. Leading us to jump straight back into continuing with Lincoln and Jolene's story.

Although Play Call had the story starting off slow, not just from the pace that it was moving at but with actually getting down into the nitty gritty of it all.
That did change with the turn it made during the halfway mark, where it began to pick up not only from the forced proximity that Lincoln and Jolene find themselves in. Which is even more forced than having to work in close proximity because of their careers. Venturing them onto a bump journey filled with ups and downs.
The ups coming from the Hot, Fiery and Spicy explosions, which proved that regardless of how much time had passed the chemistry was very much alive considering the sparks that flew and continued too.

This time round given the circumstances that had led them to reunite, it allowed us to see more of an exploration into their relationship. From the very real, authentic and genuine feels being showcased between them as well as mentioned within their individual point of view inner monologue.
But also the connection that was very much alive proved this.
However it wasn’t all smooth sailing considering we see Lincoln and Jolene face an uphill battle from the stakes that are in place and the hurdles that they have to navigate through. Particularly from twists that come into play, having them realise that it won’t be easy and they have their work cut out for them. Resulting in second guessing whether it is worth it or not? Considering all the things that could go wrong causing even more problems.

From the conflict and drama paving way for tensions to rise, it’s what led to helping with the further development of the storyline seeing as it’s what progressed Lincoln and Jolene’s narrative even more forward IMO. Seeing the growth of them and within their journey.

The ending to Play Call was interesting with being tame in comparison to Rivalry, but it was to be expected given what went down.
One thing is for sure though, this is only just the beginning because something tells me the uphill battle has yet to really begin. Especially with how Lisa Suzanne left us hanging, though it did have me making some predictions of what to expect in book 3 Game Play. As for whether they are right, only time will tell.

This book was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 to say the least. I'm just so freaking happy that they decided to give into what they wanted. Its definitely a difficult road to journey on especially because both their families HATE! each other and the fact that their careers would be ruined if it should come out.

Now, I knew they still had feelings for each other but this book shows their feelings. I mean he admitted so much; but not the main thing, but whichever way, this book showed a different side to me on how much they feel for each other. But is it wrong to still want more from them? I'm just over them with the back and forth. Like one minute they're on cloud nine and all over each other and the next is just pure anxiety, tears and wondering what to do. They're two grown adults and they are amazingly strong individuals, just be together already. And while I'm on that, the fake dating is a no no for me. Love that trope, totally, definitely, but in this case I'm not for it. I won't go into details but too much feelings; more the jealous emotion that comes up too much.

I love Lincoln and Jolene as individuals. I wanna just say how much of a strong woman Jolene is, I felt all the things she was going through and trust me it's ALOT! She stands up for herself so well, she is an amazing mom. Lincoln is great at his work and he doesn't take the bullshit. But...with both of them, they need to stand up to their parents and be together. And they need to understand that people feel threatened so they need to ask the questions and not be offended by those questions.

Overall the rating is ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5. I'm still very much loving these two but I'm here for when everything spills over and shit hits the fan because guess what? That is exactly what needs to happen for things to fall into place with these two. They do so many things right but when I start getting frustrated and annoyed is when they start doubting each other, doubting the relationship that they haven't even been in for a proper few months yet. Lincoln especially needs to grow the heck up and face his dad head on. He keeps wanting his approval and he ain't never gonna get it. I understand the feeling but there comes a time and place in your life when you need to just accept you'll never be good for certain people in your life. You can't please people and that's the fact when it comes to his father.

Still Team Bailey...Jolene just needs to tell her family what's going on, especially her father.

Thanks to Grey's Promotion and Valentines PR for selecting me for this ARC. And a HUGE!!! thank you to the wonderful author for writing these amazing books. THANK YOU!!! ❤❤❤

💜 Sports Romance

Star: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.25

Narrator: Samantha Brentmoor | Aaron Shedlock

Play Call by Lisa Suzanne is the second installment in the Vegas Aces: The Coach series, and it takes readers on a heartfelt journey filled with second chances, unresolved feelings, and complex dynamics. This sports romance blends the intensity of past love with the pressures of present-day challenges, creating a story that’s both compelling and emotionally charged.

The book centers around a trip that forces Jolene to share a hotel room with Lincoln Nash, the new head coach of the Vegas Aces. The one-bed trope adds a delightful tension as they confront feelings that have been simmering for two decades. The history between them is layered with bitterness and a deep-seated family rivalry, making their struggle to reconcile both passionate and tumultuous.

What makes Play Call particularly engaging is the conflict of interest between the characters. Being a member of the media, she faces professional boundaries that complicate her relationship with Lincoln, while accusations surrounding how she landed her job only add to the stakes. The introduction of a fake relationship with her best friend as a public cover is an intriguing twist, intensifying the romantic tension as they navigate the blurred lines of their private and public lives.

Lincoln Nash's character is fascinating as he grapples with his past and the need to maintain his career's integrity while dealing with his rekindled feelings. The chemistry between the two leads is undeniable, and the push-and-pull dynamic keeps readers invested in whether they'll find a way to overcome the obstacles standing in their way.

Lisa Suzanne’s writing is smooth and engaging, with the right balance of emotional depth and playful banter. The narrative explores themes of loyalty, trust, and the impact of choices made under pressure. As part of the Vegas Aces: The Coach series, it’s essential to read the books in order, as the storylines and character arcs build on each other.

Play Call is a fantastic read for fans of sports romance and second-chance love stories, particularly those who enjoy a blend of emotional complexity, sizzling chemistry, and a hint of forbidden romance. If you enjoy stories where past and present collide in the world of professional sports, this book will keep you hooked from start to finish.

Play Call (Vegas Aces: The Coach Book 2) by Lisa Suzanne is one explosive book about the Vegas Aces football Head Coach and Jolene Bailey, the Aces Correspondent Reporter. Lincoln and Jolene were not only next-door neighbors but high school sweethearts who broke up due to Nash’s dad and family rivalry.
The breakup turned into a 20-year contorted mess that neither Jolene nor Lincoln ever recovered from. In this second book, the spark between them is as intense as it was 20 years ago when Jolene was 15 and Nash was 17. They spend two nights together when Nash is giving a commencement speech at this alma mater in Columbus, Ohio. Upon the return to their regular life, they try some hair-brained schemes to try and see each other on the sly. Jolene is an emotional mess while her best friend Sam publicly dates Lincoln so they can have some time alone in secret. Family interference from the Baileys and the Nash’s shifts up a few notches, bringing things to a future. OMG mess! My heart hurts for these new characters as they appear to battle family, best friends, and ex-s. On the job front, Lincoln and Jolene are facing opposition from others who want the position they are filling. We have three more installments to this story of how Coach Lincoln and Jolene will keep their love aflame with outside interferences and circumstances trying to drown it out. Regardless, I know Lisa Suzanne will deliver on the HEA in book five. Readers, you need to read these two books to set the stage for the OMG moments that I know are coming, as well as the heat, jealousy, family bullying, and job issues that must play out. I am ready for all three, four, and five book installments of the Coach series to come out.

“I’ve been conditioned to hate you for longer than I was able to love you.”

Play Call dives deeper into Lincoln and Jolene’s complicated relationship and all of their hidden feelings for each other. Both are fighting the intense attraction they have to one another while trying to keep ahold of their animosity towards one another, but when they find themselves sharing a hotel room, the pull is too strong to resist.

“Those feelings are still strong. They never went away. Never faded. Never dimmed.”

This installment of the story advanced their relationship and showed us how absolutely scorching they are together. Their feelings for each other have been buried underneath the surface for so many years and now that they are simmering to the surface, they are desperate to explore them, even knowing they are in an impossible situation. Hiding from everyone the true nature of their relationship takes a toll and soon everything looks hopeless.

“When I’m with her, nothing else seems to matter anymore. It’s the two of us, and we deserve the sort of happiness we have when we’re together.”

I’m on pins and needles to see what’s going to happen next as the tension between these two is starting to boil over. The plan they have developed to see each other seems to be a disaster waiting to happen and I’m a bit anxious waiting for it to blow up in their faces. Full of Secrets, jealousy, betrayal, white-hot chemistry and a push and pull relationship that is full of love, anger, and a sense of doom, Play Call takes you through the gamut of emotions and will have you breathlessly waiting for the next chapter in Lincoln and Jolene’s story.

Jolene and Lincoln's non-relationship is heating up. Jolene is upset about the fact that her rival saw Lincoln and her kissing. He threatens to go to her boss and let him know. While she is worrying about this she has to go on her first our of town assignment to THE Ohio State where Lincoln is giving a speech at the commencement ceremony. Jolene's boss made all of her travel arrangements. She ends up in first class on the plane seated next to Lincoln. They are both also staying at the same hotel. Jolene finds out that she does not have a room, that she was put on a waitlist. There are no other rooms in the town since it is graduation weekend. Lincoln offers to let her stay in his suite. When they get to his room, they find out that the suite is in fact just a room with one bed. They agree to share a bed. The next day after the graduation ceremony, Jolene runs into a former TA from her college and they go to lunch together. Lincoln sees them and gets very jealous. Back in the room that night Jolene and Lincoln finally give into their feelings and sleep together. When they get home to Vegas, they realize that although they want to be together they can't. Jolene's friend comes up with a plan on how they can be together. Sam suggests that she start dating Lincoln in public and Jolene will see him is secret. Jolene will use Sam's car to go and see Lincoln at night. Jolene and Sam stage a fight at an event, although to Jolene it seems like a real fight. Jolene goes to see Lincoln later. While at Lincoln's she gets a call from her son who is very upset because his father and step-mother are fighting. Jolene races to go to her son and does not realize that a car is following her.
Can't wait till book three to find out what happens.

Play Call continues where Rivalry left off in Lisa Suzanne's latest series, Vegas Aces: The Coach, Lincoln Nash and Jolene Bailey's story, 20 years after their budding young love was torn apart. Book two brings more heartache to this reconnected pair when the possibility for a happy ending begins to feel out of reach and doomed from the start in their second chance romance.

Hope dwindles further when one thing after another seems to stand in the way of them finding their way back to each other and out in the open. Now, desperate times call for some creative thinking- a temporary 'solution' that seemed like a plan, but the worst idea ever to me. What were they thinking?

The situation between Linc and Jo became more complicated and dire as the story progressed. How could they ever be together when their feuding fathers haven't spoken in years? Not a winning combo and the lies were piling up. They both could lose everything that meant anything to them, including each other. Stuck between a rock and a hard place was not a great place to be- torn between their familys' happiness, or their own. Which would they chose?

These books have short windows of time between them, and all but the final book will leave you guessing and dying for more with a little cliffie at the end of each one. You'll be waiting on the edge of your seat to find out what's happening next in the lives of the hot new Aces coach, and that feisty team correspondent who stole his heart long ago.

Stay tuned readers and loyal Aces fans. Game Play, book three, will be up next and more of this rollercoaster of a story will be revealed when it arrives! Be ready!

I received an early copy to read and this is my honest review of it.

Play Call (Vegas Aces: The Coach #2) by Lisa Suzanne is part two of a five-part contemporary sports romance serial and ends with a cliffhanger. Told in first person dual POV, this installment includes enemies-to-lovers, second-chance, forced-proximity, forbidden romance, and fake relationship tropes. The story follows the relationship between the new Vegas Aces head coach Lincoln Nash and Jolene Bailey, the sports correspondent assigned to follow the team.

This book picks up where the previous one ended. Jolene’s work rival saw Lincoln kiss her and took a picture of them. Now he’s using it to threaten her. Jolene and Lincoln agree that nothing can happen between them because of the history between their families, but they struggle with their growing attraction to each other. When they’re forced to share a hotel room on an out-of-town work trip, they can’t resist their chemistry any longer. Lincoln and Jolene want to explore their feelings, but there are many reasons they can’t be together openly. Could a fake relationship with another person be their perfect cover? Can they really keep their relationship hidden? What will happen if their secret is exposed?

I enjoyed the second installment of Jolene and Lincoln’s story. Where the previous installment moved slowly, the pace quickly picks up in this one. We learn a bit more about the history between Jolene and Lincoln and the rift between their families. The chemistry, angst, tension between Lincoln and Jolene ramps up to an all-time high, and they let loose with several steamy scenes. Of course, it ends on a cliffhanger, and it looks like there's trouble up ahead. I can’t wait for book three!

This book is an absolute rollercoaster ride through the lives of Lincoln and Jolene, two childhood best friends whose relationship blossoms into a sizzling, secret romance. Set against the backdrop of the professional football world and the intense scrutiny of the media, their love story is one of passion, secrecy, and unexpected danger.

The author masterfully weaves a narrative that is both captivating and heartwarming. From the innocent bond they shared as kids to the intense chemistry as adults, Lincoln, a professional football head coach, and Jolene, a dedicated reporter, navigate the complexities of their hidden love affair. Their dynamic personalities and undeniable connection leap off the pages, making it impossible to put the book down.

What makes this book stand out is its ability to balance humor, steamy romance, and edge-of-your-seat suspense. The story unfolds effortlessly, drawing readers into a world filled with the excitement of the sports industry and the thrill of a hidden romance. The witty banter between Lincoln and Jolene adds a delightful touch, making their relationship feel authentic and relatable.

However, just when you think everything is going smoothly, the story takes an unexpected turn, leaving readers on the edge with an epic cliffhanger. An emergency strikes, and someone threatens to expose Jolene's secret, setting the stage for an intense and gripping third book.

Overall, this book is a page-turner that effortlessly combines humor, romance, and suspense. It's an easy yet engrossing read, perfect for those who enjoy a hot and thrilling romance. Lincoln & Jolene

Lincoln and Jolene's story continues with more secrets, lies, deceit and family drama.

Lincoln and Jolene have been trying to avoid each other until they are forced to share a hotel room. As old feelings begin to resurface and they decide to give things a go, the reality of their situation hits hard once they return to Vegas.

Lincoln and Jolene are starting to spend time together outside of the heated confrontations at the stadium and the tension between them is strong only issue is the chemistry is missing for me. I also struggled with the final twenty-five percent of the book and everything that is transpiring.

Get ready for…

Sports (Football) | Enemies | Forced Proximity | Only One Bed | Workplace | Secret Relationship | First-Person (Dual)

Be mindful that this book contains topics that may be triggering to readers and the series needs to be read in order.

Blurb:
When I score the promotion of my dreams and my boss tells me to become best friends with the new head coach of the Vegas Aces, I do everything I can to prevent the inevitable from happening.

The Vegas Aces could’ve hired anyone as their head coach. Despite my protests and warnings, they chose Lincoln Nash.

With a family rivalry spanning two decades, I’ve been conditioned to hate the entire family. But there’s a special passion to my hatred for the new coach. He was my first when we were teenagers, and then a few days later, he broke my heart.

When I’m named the Vegas Aces team correspondent for my news channel and the team owner grants me the first exclusive interview, it takes everything in my power to keep it professional as I interview my mortal enemy.

A family feud may have torn us apart, but the biggest rivalry of all is going to be keeping my job as I fight my feelings for the new coach.

I really enjoyed reading book two in this series. The love/hate relationship is so interesting and the MCs chemistry is delicious. I cannot wait for the next book as I’m fully invested in these characters finding their HEA. They still have so much to navigate through with the hatred between their families. This series definitely gives you Romeo and Juliet vibes.

I highly recommend reading.

Vegas Aces: The Coach, Book 2
By: Lisa Suzanne
Narrated by: Aaron Shedlock, Samantha Brentmoor

So much happens in this second installment of the Vegas Aces: The Coach! Centering around a trip where Lincoln and Jolene end up sharing a hotel room, and the close proximity brings out the unavoidable second chance! These two have deep feelings, and deep pain to get through. They can't be together though, for so many reasons. As the passion gets high, so do the secrets. The question is where do they go from here? Lincoln has himself a quandry. He loves Jolene, but as the coach, he can't date the journalist. And with their past, comes a lot of bad blood between families. Jolene has hr reputation on the line. Being a woman in the field is tough enough and dating the coach will not help . Plus being away from her son is tough on her. And the cliffhanger on this one is hard to leave! I need installment three to find out what happens next!

Aaron Shedlock and Samantha Brentmoor continue their fantastic narration and have me on the edge as they read this story. Sheldock keeps Lincoln striving for excellence in his work, and sensual in his personal life. He adds to depth of his character as deals with the past and the impending problems of the future. Brentmoor is Jolene, the mother that carries guilt for being away, the teenager who loved the one boy she couldn't have and the ambitious woman trying to succeed. Each voice melds her personality into the woman who is falling for Lincoln. These two are so good, I can't wait for more.

Play Call is the second book in the Vegas Aces: The Coach series by Lisa Suzanne, picking up right where Rivalry left off, and amping up the tension, drama, and passion in a big way! A hotel reservation blunder leads to a tempting one bed situation that is a game changer. They can’t fight their feelings despite the mountain of obstacles between them. When Jolene’s best friend, Sam, offers to fake-dake Lincoln to help shield their secret relationship, red flags started flying in my brain immediately and my gut tensed up. I have a bad feeling about this plan, but I am so here for it!! The twists and turns just kept coming to add to the drama and the pressure on this couple!! They have detractors coming at them from every direction professionally and personally. This book was jam-packed with emotion, angst, drama, and secrets. And the passion? Whoa! These two are thermonuclear together!! They had me blushing, when they were on the phone!🥵 I’m afraid they have a rough road ahead, and I hate cliffhangers, but this author is the queen of making it worth it!! I can’t wait to get my hands on Book 3!!

I received an advanced review copy for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily.

Lincoln and Jolene left us with a whopper of a cliff hanger in the first book and diving into this book I can tell you that things are getting even stickier!! What a roller coaster!!! Can they make it work or not? The love is there, but are either of them going to be brave enough to cast away everything, their dream careers, family and friends to fulfill they destiny they should share together!!
OK I HAVE TO SAY IT!!!
I love Lincoln and Jolene but OMG do i want to knock both their heads together!!! Both so strong and independent, yes they fear their families and the feud that stands between them. Pressure is on all sides of them, Lincoln being The Vegas Aces new head coach has to give it his everything!! Jolene likewise has to give her all for her job, especially being a female in a male dominated field!! Rivera and Mike are being right thorns in their sides, and i really want them to get their comeuppance!! grrrr

Devising a plan involving Jolene's best friend had me in uproar, omg my emotions were shot and yelling at my book, NO NO NO IT'S GONNA MAKE IT WORSE!! I can't wait for book 3, because things are bound to explode and I am right there for it, waiting non to patiently!! I fear what this author has in store for us and I am preparing my emotions because without a doubt Lincoln and Jolene and going to rip us open and we will love and devour it !!!
Fabulous Series so Far!!! I can't get enough !

Lincoln and Jolene continue their “relationship dance” in Book 2 of the Vegas Aces/Coach series in Play Call. As they try to define and discover what they mean to each other in light of their parent’s feud and historic romantic feelings towards each other, circumstances arise that help them to now put a definition of what they are to each other.

After an ill-fated trip to Ohio, where Lincoln is to give a speech with Jolene in attendance as Press, they fall victim to a lack of hotel rooms (oh Linc, how manipulative!) and are finally able to face the feelings they both still carry. But how will they carry on once they return to Vegas?

In a creative and supportive move, Jolene’s friend offers to publicly date Lincoln to put Jolene’s co-worker “off the scent”, when he has accused Jolene of playing up to Lincoln in favor of being the Press liaison. Ms. Suzanne could have lightly played these scenes in a standard, expected manner, however she approached this in a unique way. Although Jolene knows that her friend Sam is not interested in Lincoln, jealousy still rears up and explodes in a pretty amusing way.

But the hatred of a coworker still looms over them as does the rabid dislike and animosity of each family toward each other. When Lincoln’s father again warns him off Jolene, it spikes another dose of misery for the couple.

We are left on a cliffhanger as only Lisa Suzanne can write. Book 3 can’t come soon enough!
