This unique two-in-one volume combines two discussions with Sadhguru, each encompassing a diverse range of themes. What emerges from these stimulating exchanges is the voice of a master-crisp, authoritative and inspirational, offering a refreshingly new take on questions that all seekers will recognize as their own.
Sadhguru is a yogi, mystic and visionary. Named one of India's 50 most influential people, Sadhguru's work has touched the lives of millions worldwide through his transformational programs. Sadhguru has a unique ability to make the ancient yogic sciences relevant to contemporary minds. His approach does not ascribe to any belief system but offers methods for self-transformation that are both proven and powerful.
An internationally renowned speaker and author of the New York Times Bestseller Inner Engineering, A Yogi's Guide to Joy, Sadhguru has been an influential voice at major global forums including the United Nations and the World Economic Forum, addressing issues as diverse as socioeconomic development, leadership and spirituality. With over 162 Million individuals pledging their support, Rally for Rivers is the largest ecological movement in the world to date. In the fall of 2019, Sadhguru launched Cauvery Calling, a uniquely modelled project that focuses on enhancing farmer wealth while simultaneously impacting river flow and riverine ecosystems. It will enable farmers in the Cauvery basin spanning Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, to plant 2.42 billion trees.
In the United States, Isha Foundation is headquartered at the Isha Institute of Inner-sciences in the Cumberland Plateau of Tennessee, Isha Institute is established as infrastructure for raising human consciousness and offers a variety of programs that provide methods for anyone to explore and experience the yogic science in its full depth.
Enlightenment means a conscious annihilation of yourself. For most people, it will take a certain amount of time and maturing to understand that whatever you make yourself to be, in the end, it is frustrating and not enough. However wonderful you make yourself, still it is not enough. Only when you disappear, everything becomes wonderful.
So, if right now all someone wants is to be peaceful and happy, and do better in the activities they are doing – let’s have that, it’s okay. That doesn’t mean enlightenment is ruled out, but such a longing has not come yet. Still, the basic longing is to live better. You are not yet finished with life – you want to live well. When you have lived enough and you know that living better is not going to get you anywhere, then you want to go beyond life.
"Eating is not a simple thing. You eat a simple vegetable and you transform it into a human being. If it goes by the evolutionary scale, it must take ten million years. But you are doing it in one afternoon. It is not a small phenomenon."
While I do my sadhana daily and enjoy listening to Sadhguru, this book was a play of words. As it is an impossible feat to to explain what is enlightenment to one who has not experienced it, this compilation of Q&A sessions with Sadhguru about this topic felt like a tease. I couldn't grasp the benefits of reading through these interactions. So far, I have enjoyed immersing in Sadhguru's books, but this was not a favorite of mine.
"Is this some clever play of words to continuously deceive people? It very much seems like that. I would think so. If I did not know, if I am not who I am right now, I would definitely think so if somebody spoke to me like this. That this is just one clever play of damn words because that is all it is, actually."
"But if you want to understand, if you are interested in knowing something, you want to receive and take home a definition, then I can only play with you with words, more and more words."
This book was a quick read,Finished it in a day.In the book,Sadghuru talks about life and death transitions, importance of correct breathing and meditation. Favourite note from the book :"whichever way you breathe, that is the way you think. Whichever way you think, that is the way you breathe.your whole life ,your whole unconscious mind is written into your breath. If you just read your breath, your past present and future is written there,in the way you breathe."

A short, concise and direct pathway to approach enlightenment and several other topics related to it. Even though meditation and enlightenment are chiefly ways to detach oneself from the mind (as well as the body), this reader believes the whole process is made easier once the mind has a glimpse of what such states and conditions mean, in a general way.
The most difficult thing about enlightenment is that it is too simple and it is most obvious. Enlightenment is not a survival process. If you have to open, if you have to know life in an existential way, the only way is to enhance your perception. So enlightenment means a heightened level of perception in an ultimate way.
It's written in a language I can understand, there are no jargon or heavy duty words they require extra thought. It's precise, crisp and full of answers I would have wanted answered!
The book is an easy read but too much to digest. Every thing in the book comes with a lot of meaning and food for thought specially Isha Kriya part. I loved the way whole process of meditation is explained in the most lucid and effortless manner.
Contains mostly talks from his sadhanas and answers to questions. There are some good insights and most of his talks are simple so can be understood by common folk.
There are too many repetition of Sadhguru other books. A lot of sentences (seem) to repeat themselves up to three times on the same page. Still, I’ve enjoyed the rest.
While some of the ideas presented here are good the latter part of the book felt like one giant comercial for the online course and the retreat program.
