This K-9 team is trained to eliminate threats. This threat could eliminate them.

Being a loner is getting old. Jazz Lamont still can’t fit in at the Phoenix K-9 Agency, and she’s losing her best friend. At least providing security with her K-9 partner at the Tri-City Fair will mean revisiting the only place where she once belonged. But a series of accidents threatens her beloved fair and puts lives at risk.

Thriller author Hawthorne Emerson suspects foul play after the first “accident.” Moonlighting as fair security to investigate the death of his sister’s boyfriend, he’s eager to find the truth. He doesn’t expect the task to lead him to the cult he escaped.

Finding the culprit behind the sabotage is personal for Jazz and Hawthorne. But someone else has a personal stake, too. Someone who wants Jazz dead. When everything she thought was true is dismantled, can Jazz risk trusting others—including God—to survive?

Lethal Danger continues the thrilling story of the elite Phoenix K-9 Security and Detection Agency that began with Hidden Danger (Guardians Unleashed, #1 ) . (Each book can stand alone or be read as series installments.)

Lethal Danger is an intense story filled with well-fleshed-out characters with flaws and extreme strength. The story is about family, deception, danger, and an element of twists and turns you won't see coming.

I loved Jazz and Hawthorn's slow-building romance and enjoyed their playful banter. The story is a page-turner and I couldn't put it down and consumed it in one sitting. This one was even better than the last one in the series.

I received a complimentary ARC from the author and voluntarily chose to review it. All opinions are my own.

I raced through the story of Jazz Lamont with my heart in my throat and my fingers drumming anxiously as I read all of the threats that were coming Jazz’s way and her calm way of “taking care of business as usual.” Jazz, as a member of Phoenix K-9 Protection and Detective Agency, is accustomed to danger, but she is not ready for the danger to explode in her personal life. The assignment seems like a normal one, to guard and protect the Tri-City Fair that has had a few weird events there lately. Since Jazz’s aunt is the manager of the fair and Jazz spent her childhood summers there, she is attached to the good memories she has and more than willing to participate in protecting it. The threats continue to ramp up, the danger gets closer and more deadly, and Jazz is eager to work alongside author and temporary security guard Hawthorne Emerson. (Swoon!) I really enjoyed the nail-biting suspense because I never knew when or how another attack would occur, either at the fair or to Jazz personally or even to Hawthorne. The story is a gripping tale of escalating tension which features crisp writing and a sparkling, low-key romance. This is a rich story that is infused with spiritual truth, adding to the realism of the characters and the danger they constantly face as well as their close relationships with each other. There are several mysteries to be solved in the storyline, with intricate plot threads masterfully woven together to make one very riveting and action-packed tale. The multiple layers flow together and keep the intrigue and intensity of the plot moving quickly and brilliantly. I really enjoyed the edginess that persisted throughout the story as well as the characters with their complicated personalities and individual strengths. Of course, I loved the canines because they are so intuitive and well-trained that I was confident that they could protect their owners from whatever threat suddenly manifested itself. This head-spinning book had me captivated from beginning to end and I loved every minute I spent getting to know Jazz’s backstory and why she made the choices she did. This cleverly written page turner has me already wanting the next book in the “Guardians Unleashed” series. Addictive and book coma inducing, this book is one of the best romantic thrillers I have ever read and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants engaging entertainment that will keep you intrigued and guessing.

I received an advanced copy of this book as part of the launch team and in return for a review.

Jerusha Agen has another winner in this book! Excellent characters and a story twisting plot. Plus the K-9s….

Jazz and her K-9 Flash are part of the Phoenix K-9 Security group and they are hired to patrol the Tri-City Fair. There has been sabotage on the grounds and Jazz has an interest since her Aunt owns the Fair and she grew up there.
Hawthorn is an author of mystery thrillers who has taken a security job to solve the case of a death of his sister’s boyfriend a few years ago. The two meet and start pursuing leads together. Will both cases be solved? And will Jazz and Hawthorn find a happy ending? Read the book to find out….

“It was so-called worldly entertainment and included on the very long, unwritten list of activities and choices banned by the cult. Or, more specifically, by Desmond Patch, founder and leader of the Best Life cult. Destroyer of families. Thief of lives. “

Wow! What a fast-moving thrill ride Lethal Danger is! Penned by the talented Jerusha Agen, it’s the fourth book in the Guardians Unleashed series, a set of books about a K-9 female protection team. The Tri-City fair in MN is a second home to Phoenix security guard Jazz LaMont. Growing up without her marine dad around much, often shunted off on an aunt and uncle who barely tolerated her, Jazz is looking for true friends and love.

We also meet security personnel Hawthorne Emerson, famous crime writer and, in this case, crime investigator. Emerson grew up in the nearby cult, Best Life, which he and eventually his younger sister Rebekah leave. The cult is blamed for a fair accident where Emerson and Jazz meet in a daring rescue. Can dreamy Hawthorne and beautiful, multi-talented Jazz team up together to protect the fair and its visitors before the increasing accidents force its closure? Don’t get whiplash from the great twists!

The danger starts quickly in this book and doesn’t let up until the finale. I loved being able to see the Malinois, German shepherds, and other trained dogs in action! So impressive!

I really liked that the hero and heroine have so much going for them, yet both have some very big flaws to overcome. For Jazz, the rejection in her background causes her to feel slighted and unliked by those around her... even when she could have the belonging and love she longs for, she refuses to let others close. Her best friend, Nevaeh asks, “Have you ever thought that maybe you put up walls with people?” … “Like maybe you’re afraid they’ll reject you, so you reject them first.”

Hawthorne Emerson, too, has much going for him. He escaped the cult, he is a nationally-known best-selling author, he is swoony, and he can investigate and rescue with the best. Plus, he is a believer, like the rest of Jazz’s team. (Jazz thinks Christianity is for weak people.) However, Hawthorne’s past affects him, too. He took orders from the cult at one time and will never again let someone control him. “He’d made a god out of freedom—his freedom, his wants, his desires. And his love of independence and freedom had only grown since he’d left the cult.” A recipe for hurt!

Don’t miss this exciting romantic suspense! I certainly want to be sure I’ve read all the books in this series, to learn about each security agent and her dog!

I received a copy of the book from Celebrate Lit. I also bought my own copy. No positive review was required, and all opinions are my own.

Notable Quotables:

“I didn’t want to be reconciled to God and forgiven of my sins until God changed me from the inside out. He had to change me so I could begin to want what I hadn’t known I most needed.”- Hawthorne

“Because I want to have God’s Word hidden in my heart, so that I know what is true and what is not. So that I have His comfort and promises with me wherever I go. I never want to forget that He loves me or forget the proof that He loves me.”- Cora, on why she memorizes Scripture

“Evil and lies are often most convincing when they masquerade as poor imitations of the truth.”- Hawthorne

Another enjoyable read by Jerusha Agen! The plot was awesome! I did have a sneaking suspicion about who the villain was, but I was kept guessing on what was really going on and how everything was connected. Lethal Danger was full of twists and turns, as I never knew what was coming around the corner! I was completely surprised concerning some things I was expecting to happen.
The characters' development in Lethal Danger was amazing! So good! I cannot praise Jerusha enough! Hawthorne and Jazz were both very complex characters with relatable struggles, although their backgrounds were foreign territory to me. The mark of an amazing author are complex and relatable characters set in situations most of us have never experienced -- Jerusha is this author! I do not want to spoil the plot, because Jazz and Hawthorne's growth are tied to it, but I am so impressed by their personal development!
I was absolutely thrilled to meet the Phoenix K-9 team again, as well as Branson! Branson and Nevaeh will always hold a very special place in my heart! I wholeheartedly recommend Lethal Danger by Jerusha Agen! This is a book that will stay with you long after you finish the last sentence.

Jazz Lamont and her canine partner, Flash, keep busy during her security assignment at the local Tri-City Fair. But too many destructive incidents make her and the rest of the team wonder if these are planned attacks. And since Jazz is the target or close to some, they wonder if someone is out to get her or her aunt and uncle, who run the fair. Thriller author Hawthorne Emerson has also been helping with security at the fair in addition to doing research for his next book. Teaming with Jazz takes him into the midst of the danger and action, including visiting a suspicious cult he used to belong to. Could the cult be behind the trouble at the fair? This mystery drama spends time dealing with Jazz’s and Harrison’s past and its effect on their lives as they have to deal with it. The novel is long and seemed to go slower toward the middle—I think it could be tightened a bit so the rapid pace matches the great suspense story. I received a copy from the author through Celebrate Lit. All opinions are my own.

It takes a gifted author to make a ferris wheel feel like a character … and in Lethal Danger, Jerusha Agen does just that. From its looming height over the fairgrounds to the way its lights sweep across the crowd, it holds its place in the story as both a silent witness and a symbol of what’s at stake. In its shadow, faith is tested, courage is refined, and the presence of God is unmistakable.

The Tri-City Fair becomes a place of both nostalgia and threat. Jazz Lamont steps onto its familiar grounds with her loyal K-9 partner, carrying the quiet ache of never truly belonging. Hawthorne Emerson, a suspense author with a painful past, joins the fair’s security with questions that can’t be ignored. Together, they navigate a setting where joy, danger, and truth collide.

Like the ferris wheel pausing at its highest point, some scenes rise above the motion—clear, steady, and impossible to forget. It’s the unflinching Christian witness woven throughout. Hawthorne’s testimony, “After I encountered the evidence, I couldn’t deny God really exists, the Bible is true, and Jesus died for me and rose again to give me eternal life,” pulses with sincerity and hope. His gentle but firm encouragement to Jazz: “God is our perfect Father, Jesus is our truest Brother and Friend. He can fulfill all your needs and heal what needs to be healed” reminds the reader that faith isn’t an accessory to the plot; it’s the heartbeat.

Cora’s clear proclamation of the Gospel: “Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who died on the cross to pay the penalty for the sins of His children and give them everlasting life with Him… Because He redeemed us, and we belong to Him” …anchors the story in the unshakable truth that salvation in Christ is our greatest refuge. These are life-giving truths seamlessly woven into the fabric of a fantastic, gripping narrative.

Jerusha Agen delivers suspense that keeps the pages turning, characters you care about deeply, and a clear call to trust God when the stakes feel impossibly high. Lethal Danger is a reminder that in the middle of chaos, danger, and the unknown, God’s presence is unshakable, His truth is unchanging, and His love reaches even into the shadows.

Perfect for readers who crave heart-pounding action, genuine faith conversations, and a story that leaves you holding tighter to the One whose grip never fails.

Lethal Danger, the fourth book in the Guardians Unleashed series by Jerusha Agen, readers meet up again with the Phoenix K-9 team.

Jazz and her K-9 companion Flash, are members of the Phoenix K-9 Security group assigned to patrol the Tri-City Fair. Sabotage threatens the fairgrounds where Jazz's Aunt is the manager and her personal connection to her aunt heats up the investigation.

Hawthorn, a mystery thriller author is doing investigative work as a security guard. He joins forces with Jazz to unravel the mystery surrounding his sister's boyfriend's death years ago. Both of the characters are written as complex individuals facing very similar challenges, and their developing relationship is at the story's center.

Lethal Danger is a fast-paced novel brimming with action, suspense, mystery, a cult presence, and budding romance. The plot keeps readers totally engaged, with surprises and twists until the very end. Along with the intrigue, themes of forgiveness, redemption, and faith, particularly in Christ, are interwoven throughout the storyline. While each book in the series can be read as a stand-alone, readers may want to start from the beginning to fully appreciate the connections between the characters. Don't miss this great suspense story that will keep you guessing until the final page.

From the first book I read, I became a huge fan of Jerusha Agen’s romantic suspense. Not only is it page-turning, romantic, and uplifting, it has K-9s! These special dogs are some of my favorite heroes and I love seeing them partner with their humans.

In this book, we get to see Jazz and her K-9 in action along side a thriller-writing hero. I adored that angle! Especially because Jazz loves Hawthorne’s books.

I loved Lethal Danger and couldn’t put it down. I could relate to both characters in so many ways. And the mystery had the perfect amount of twists and turns.

I highly recommend this book, and the series. Now I can’t wait for the series conclusion!

Who is out to kill Jazz and Hawthorne? Who is behind the sabotage at the fair? Will Jazz be able to find a place where she feels she belongs? So many questions and storylines really keep you engaged!

I highly recommend Lethal Danger. It is one of those books that you just can’t put down.

I cannot express how much I love this entire series! Lethal Danger is amazing and has been moved to one of my top favorites. I loved getting to know Jazz better and getting to meet Hawthorne. Also, getting to know Flash better was so much fun! Jerusha’s books always have the best messages, and Lethal Danger’s message was no exception. Every time I read a book in the Guardians Unleashed series it is like visiting old friends, and I always gain something new to think about and take with me by the end of the story. I can’t wait to read more!

You'll never see a fair in the same way again...

Oh my gosh! Who would have ever thought up mixing a fair (think rides and cotton candy) with a cult? Jerusha Agen, that's who. Add in the fact that this is a romantic suspense tale and there are dogs. Well, what more could you ask for on a lazy afternoon?

This fourth Guardians Unleashed novel was every bit as exciting as its predecessors. Lethal Danger has an intricately laid out mystery that keeps you guessing. I had my suspicions pretty early on but I sure went around and around as new clues and distractions arose.

I must admit that there were moments when I didn't exactly care for Jazz, and even once or twice Hawthorne, but then I came to the conclusion it made both of them more real. They are not the stereotypical 'perfect' couple in most romantic suspense novels. Their quirks, their mistakes, their false assumptions, added substance to their characters.

Lethal Danger was a hard to put down story as have all of the Guardians Unleashed books. Jerusha Agen knows how to keep things hopping and the mystery moving forward. This, in turn, keeps readers, myself very much included, flipping those pages at lightning speed. When I turned that last page I was immediately left me anxiously anticipating the next book in the series...

This is another good novel in the series, each one focusing on a different member of the team. Jazz is new on the team and feeling it. She is dealing with serious feelings of previous rejection and transfers it to members of the K-9 team. The lead male character, Hawthorne, also has issues he has to work through. We hope for a romance but there are many obstacles they must overcome.

A secondary plot line in this novel is the overbearing character of a nearby cult. We see the deceptive and oppressive nature of the leader's teaching. Related to this theme and the mystery upon which the novel is centered is the meaning of family. We find out family is not always determined by blood. There is also a very clear presentation of the gospel.

Since there is serious character growth for Jazz and Hawthorne, there is much character thought included in the book. While there is suspense, especially near the end, this book may be most appreciated by readers who like delving into the thoughts of the characters more than concentrating on continuous action.

I look forward to reading the last book in this series about the mysterious Phoenix.

Wow, wow, WOW!! I have been waiting for Jazz's story forever and I wasn't disappointed. It was interesting to find out her backstory and it totally makes sense why she keeps everyone at a distance.( including the PK-9 team and even her best friend!) This book was a rollercoaster of emotions for me because at times l would read something that made me smile or laugh, but then my heart would break for her ( especially when she felt no one would ever love her). One thing I loved was the relationship between Jazz and Hawthorne, especially seeing both of them grow throughout the story. Overall, this book has everything - humor, suspense, danger and a dash of romance. Definitely 5 stars and I would give it more if I could!

I enjoyed this suspense novel. I loved how we didn’t expect the villains to be who they were. I loved how Hawthorne and Jazz worked together to figure things out and became good friends and more through the experience. I loved the women of the Phoenix K-9 Agency. I love how they are strong women and are like a family. I loved seeing Jazz gain faith in God and how that helped her to handle some of the situations that she was put into. I like these books and find the story and characters to be interesting and engaging. I would recommend them.

I received an ARC of Lethal Danger but my opinion of the book is my own honest opinion.
This is a very rivoting storyline for Jazz Lamont. Her story is full of action, suspense and insecurities, but most of all love and acceptance. We journey with Jazz through her childhood memories and all the struggles that she has had feeling loved and accepted by everyone in her life. She learns that God loves her and has her exactly where she needs to be but the journey to that realization is filled with hurt, longing to be loved and lots of insecurities. Come walk with Jazz as she fights bad guys trying to kill her and a mystery of who is sabotaging her beloved childhood fair.

I am so glad I gave this series and author a try. I absolutely love this series, and was happy to see this book was finally coming out.

I think the first book will always be my favorite - it is called the prequel, but it is technically the first book. It was published first, and by a different publisher than the rest of the books, so I am guessing that is why it gets called the prequel instead of book #1.

But this book almost topples that one as my favorite. I have come to see Agen is a great author, but she really pulled out the stops for this 4th (5th?) book.

First off, the two main characters: Jazz, K-9 handler, non-Christian, who has been in all of the books since she is part of the team, and Hawthorne, confirmed bachelor, Christian, and author of thriller books...and Jazz' favorite author. And they meet in an exciting adrenaline-rush way.

Both are complex, but likable characters. Because of how she was raised, Jazz feels like a loaner, unlovable, and doesn't even feel she belongs with her team. Hawthorne doesn't want to be tied down, or trapped by relationships.

And the book had a great plot. The book centers around a fair that has been in the town for several years. Hawthorne is there to try to uncover the truth about the death of his little sister's boyfriend. Jazz is there as part of security, but quickly becomes the target of whoever is causing mayhem at the fair.

Toss in romance and a cult for good measure, and you have the makings of a great romantic suspense novel.

I absolutely loved this book. It was full of drama and suspense, and was a very difficult book to put down. (Foolish man that I am, I started it before work, and had to put it down. Would have been bad to call off from my car in the hospital parking lot.)

I had a suspect fairly early in the book - at least halfway - and am happy to report that I was right. In fact, I was screaming inwardly at one point to Jazz "it is a trap don't do it!". :)

Of course one thing that makes a series like this so enjoyable is having a team or other group of people that are in all of the books and come together to help protect and support. And of course that happened in this book. Jazz finally realized she was considered part of the team just as much as the others, and was valued by them......and by God.....and of course, by her favorite author.

I appreciate that the author doesn't shy away from a Christian message, and shares it through struggles of her characters.

The book had a great ending, and one of the last spoken statements had me chuckling out loud. Jazz, to Hawthorne: "There's something I have been wanting to ask you ever since we met."

To find out the thing she asked to cause him to laugh (and anyone who reads the book), you will have to read the book. :)

The books could be read as stand alones, as they don't make much - if any - reference to what happened in previous books, but I would personally recommend reading them in order, as it does have references and appearances of the boyfriends/fiance's from the other books.

Special thanks to the author for an advance e-book copy of this book. I was under no obligation to provide a review and the thoughts contained herein are my own.

Oh my goodness, Lethal Danger by Jerusha Agen is an amazing romantic suspense story. This is my first book by this author but it won't be my last. I had the opportunity to be on the launch team for this book, and, even though I usually prefer to read series in order, I decided I would read this anyway because it sounded so good. I will say, if you are like me and prefer to read series in order, yes, you probably should with this series. I'm assuming each book focuses on one of the ladies in the Phoenix K-9 agency, and by reading this book I already have some spoilers regarding the previous books in the series. I have every intention of going back and reading from the beginning though. If this book was any indication, the rest of this series is going to be awesome as well.
This book focuses on Jazz Lamont, one of the ladies in the Phoenix K-9 agency. One who doesn't quite feel like she belongs. The has felt alone all her life and has put up walls. She is also a huge fan of Hawthorne Emerson's thrillers. Hawthorne Emerson just happens to be the male lead in this book. Both are working security for the Tri-City Fair. The Fair is where Jazz has all her happy memories from her childhood, and she is concerned when accidents start occuring at her beloved fair. Hawthorne has joined the security at the fair to dig into what his younger sister deems the suspicious death of her boyfriend two years earlier. Jazz and Hawthorne meet as they try to rescue someone at the scene of the first accident.
The story takes off from there. With more suspicious accidents, attacks on more than one character's life, danger, suspense, twists and turns (quite a few I didn't see coming), and a possible romance between Jazz and Hawthorne. Though is this a relationship that will be able to develop with the baggage from their pasts. And will they both survive the danger that seems to be coming at them from multiple sources?
I have to tell you, I did NOT want to have to put this book down. It grabbed me from the very beginning. The author did a wonderful job making me care for these characters, the main characters and all the supporting characters, including Flash, Jazz's K-9 partner. So yes, I definitely want to read their stories.
Most importantly, faith plays a crucial role in this story. We see the importance of forgiveness, and redemption, and putting our faith in Christ. We see the importance of no longer being a slave to sin, but of giving our all to Jesus.
I highly recommend this book, but yeah, make sure you do what I didn't do, and read the previous books first. LOL.
I received an e-copy of this book as a member of the launch team and was not required to write a favorable review. These are my own honest thoughts.

"The evil fair must be closed. Or more will die."

Phoenix K-9 Agency team member Jazz Lamont grew up romping throughout every corner of the Tri-City Fair when she lived with her aunt and uncle, some of her happiest childhood memories were associated with the sights, sounds, (and tastes!) of the fairgrounds. Serving on the fair's security team with her canine partner Flash, she is stunned when a Ferris wheel passenger cabin plummets to the ground. But that's not all, an injured passenger still trapped high up on the wheel is panicking . . . . and her perilous climb for the ensuing rescue introduces her to . . . .. . her favorite author, Hawthorne Emerson?

"A woman who was cool and calm in the face of disaster. Didn't encounter that every day."

Hawthorne Emerson is duly impressed with the gorgeous woman's agility, braving the heights to initiate a dangerous rescue . . . wouldn't she make a fabulous character in one of his thrillers? Hawthorne ( also on the security team, and also climbing the heights with Jazz) isn't working at the fair for the sole purpose of providing an extra measure of safety for the thousands who attend, or even to energize his writing muse, he's there to gather intel on the untimely death of a teen two years prior.

While Jazz and Hawthorne navigate their tangled webs of faith, family, feelings, and future . . . .. the so-called accidents at the fair continue to happen with devastating results. Meanwhile, Jazz has managed to catch the attention of a hit-man, leaving Hawthorne concerned that his past experience with a local cult has drawn the ire of some very dangerous people who view the fair as a place providing the wrong kind of entertainment.

Totally absorbing! Every page of this novel is well worth a turn! While the plot spins a bit in the middle (possibly so that readers can catch their breath) the ultimate outcomes are well worth the effort. Such interesting characters in the middle of a nearly impossible situation; "Carson Steele" himself would be impressed!

1. How did you feel about the setting?

The Ferris wheel setting makes it a unique setting for a romantic suspense novel.

2. What do potential readers need to know most about the main character?

Can Jazz Lamont work with the tall and dashing Hawthorne without falling for him while on duty?

Lethal Danger
Guardians Unleashed #4
By Jerusha Agen

Someone is targeting the fair Jazz Lamont loves, and she'll do everything she can to stop them. The Tri-City Fair has been an important part of her life for the majority of it, a place she can call home. And someone is determined to destroy it and the people who frequent it.

As part of the additional security, Phoenix K-9 Security and Detection Agency is trained to stop and eliminate the threats that are threatening this year's fair. When an accident causes a visitor to panic, Jazz and security guard Hawthorne Emerson jump into action to save the visitor's life. Later Jazz is is surprised and thrilled to learn that the guard who assisted with rescue is none other than her favorite author Hawthorne Emerson! Of course she crushes!

But Hawthorne is dealing with his own demons from the past, which seemingly have links to the accidents and threats surrounding the fair.

Before everything wraps up, both Jazz and Hawthorne will have to put aside their pasts and the influence it has on their present. If they don't, they may not live to see tomorrow.

This is the fourth book in the series and it certainly doesn't disappoint. It is a contemporary Romantic Suspense read, but at its heart it is a story of family, friendship, trust, and letting go of the past. Both Jazz and Hawthorne struggle with "family" and "friendship". They've allowed the past to keep both at arm's length and added 5 more feet just to be safe. And they've blinded themselves to the fact that some of their pain is their own doing.

This is wonderful blend of suspense and human nature that presents in a completely satisfying read. Not to be missed. Though part of a series one can enjoy this book as a standalone title.

I was provided a complimentary copy of this book with no expectations but that I provide my honest opinion. All thoughts expressed are my own.

Lethal Danger swept me up with panic, mayhem, and danger -- from the very first page. As Jazz Lamont worked security at her family’s fair, she realized danger was surrounding her in every way – through her personal life, her work life, and even through what little bit of a “family” life she had. At the first sign of danger, Jazz sensed that all things were not in the “safety zone” throughout the fair. While during the years past the love of a family had escaped her, entrapping her into never really understanding what true love was, or even how it became real -- she craved it.
While the story moved on, I realized that this book had me entranced within the first few paragraphs. It was a story of action, betrayal, heartache, and loss. It was enough of a loss that it led Jazz to make assumptions about her present life and the people that she interacted with daily. I loved that Jazz was not afraid to take risks to find the answers, yet it floored me with dismay that she wasn’t truly looking realistically at people. She wanted to accept the make-believe fantasy that she created within her mind, instead of what she knew in her heart to be real.
I loved the characters, especially Hawthorne and Jazz, as they each dove into clues to resolve their own mysteries from past to present. In the end, as each clue resolved, faith led them to the discovery of the presence of God as they faced life or death realities. In the end, God met them at the end of their abilities and showed them that the old saying is true – “With God all things are possible.” Once they latched onto their faith, and God Himself, their lives and their love were worth fighting for. This ARC was given to me for my honest opinion of “Lethal Danger” and I give it five out of five stars!! I had a difficult time putting this book down and I believe that this is Agen’s writing at its best!

What a heart pounding story this is. The more I read the book, the more I couldn’t stop until the very end. I have never liked the rides at a fair. They scare me and definitely make me want to run away from them. I like how the author gives us a clear view of the action by describing the surroundings with realism. I could hear the laughter and screams as people enjoyed the food, rides and games. I was not prepared for how the story became more intense as someone is out to cause chaos.

Jazz is a terrific character with keen senses and a need to be accepted. She has felt left out from her family for so long that it hurts to the core. Her insecurity is evident at her job as well when she takes things others say to be personal. Some of us can relate as we have also let rejection spill into our life. I love that her work with the K-9 team has given her some confidence. Her dog, Flash is very attentive and protective. I have always been fascinated by K-9’s and how they can detect danger before we realize it is coming.

Hawthorne impressed me with his detective skills even though he is a well known author. With determination he takes a security job to investigate a tragedy that happened at the fair a few years ago. What is intriguing about Hawthorne is his background as a cult member. He thought that was all behind him, but subtle hints question if they have a vendetta against him.

When accidents start happening at the fair, Hawthorne and Jazz join together to stop it. The author delivers twists along the way that shocked me. I love how the story keeps getting stronger as our two main characters face trusting God, being accepted and healing from their past. Grab a seatbelt, strap yourself in and get ready for a ride where faith will be tested.

I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.

My review today is on the Christian K-9 Suspense, Lethal Danger. This is book four in the series Guardians Unleashed. I haven't read any of Jerusha's work before but I have loved this book. It's well-written, action-packed, and full of intrigue. I really enjoyed her characters. I know you are going to love it. It will be released on April 25. You need to pre-order it today.

Jazz Lamont had a terrible childhood. She had joined the military but was unable to fit in. Now she works for Phoenix K-9 Security at her aunt's Tri-City Fair, the only place she ever felt like she fit in. She's about to lose the only friend she's ever had. She's getting married and they'll never be so close again. Life is hard! She meets her favorite author and he wants to feature her in one of his books. She's thrilled but finds herself falling for the man. He's made it clear he wants no relationship.

Thriller author Hawthorne Emerson was an investigator in the military. His books are base on his experiences. His little sister asks him to investigate the death of her boyfriend. They had both been raised in a cult but had escaped. Had Sam's death had something to do with the cult? Joining the security team at the fair to investigate the teen's death, he meets a fascinating woman. She's a PK-9 security team member. He is not looking for a relationship and she is not a believer. Why is he drawn to her? Can they work together?

An exciting journey as accidents are happening all around them. Finding the person who is destroying the fair is personal to these two. God has a plan for them, a plan for hope and a future. God has a plan for you too, A good plan for peace and not for harm. Give Him your heart and watch Him move in your life even in this time of political unrest and turmoil.

This was such a gratifying and engrossing mystery. When I first sat down to read this almost 500 page book, I was expecting to be reading for a couple of days. Boy was I surprised when I finished it in less than 24 hours. I could not put it down. The suspense, intrigue and high intensity action kept my blood pumping and the pages flipping.

Jazz Lamont works for one my favorite fictional entities, Phoenix K-9 Agency (PK-9) with her K-9 partner, Flash. They are working security at one of her favorite places in the world. Jazz spent at lot of time at the Tri City Fair in her early years, so it holds a special place in her heart. She is going through some personal struggles right now, but she has to put all of that aside when someone starts sabotaging the fair.

At the first incident, she meets a security guard who is amazed at her skills in rescue. She has no idea that she just met her favorite author, Hawthorne Emerson. Hawthorne is working security at the fair in order to investigate an accident that happened more a year before. These two end up working together as the mystery deepens, and they realize that someone is trying to kill Jazz. There are several mysteries here to solve. The puzzle pieces just need to be properly placed.

There is danger and suspense throughout the entire book as both Hawthorne and Jazz are fighting their own personal internal battles as well as fighting an unseen enemy. This story is a testament of enduring faith, new faith and the power of forgiveness and letting go. The dogs in this series are always a plus as well. You will be on pins and needles as you fight this unseen enemy along with them.

Thank you to JustRead Publicity Tours for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Jerusha Agen is releasing a new book in her Guardians Unleashed series, and you don't want to miss Lethal Danger!

Jazz has been alone for most of her life, so she's surprised when both her uncle and the hunky new security guard reach out to her. Hawthorne Emerson, chart-topping mystery writer masquerading as a security guard, can't help being suspicious of the accidents that keep happening at the fair - and he really wants to keep Jazz safe before he leaves town. Navigating their confusing feelings won't be easy - but neither will finding the killer before one of them becomes the next victim.

These two really made me crazy! They clearly weren't communicating, but they also had really deep-seated issues, and I couldn't figure out how Agen was going to resolve them. She kept me guessing right to the wire, which is the best kind of story!

I really liked how the main characters started to work through their issues, too. The spiritual lessons that accompany the action in this story are good ones - Jazz and Hawthorne understand their problems rather suddenly, but then it is a book, after all - that revolve around trust, forgiveness, and redemption, and those are relevant to us all.

Lethal Danger is a really fun story that would be perfect to discuss with friends over a dish of ice cream or corndogs, if you want to go with the fair theme. Don't miss this great beach read that will keep you guessing all the way through!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. All opinions are my own.

Lethal Danger by Jerusha Agen is a Christian Romantic Suspense novel. This Christian K-9 Suspense novel is the fourth book in the Guardians Unleashed series. This story centers on Jazz Lamont, who feels like she does not fit in at the Phoenix K-9 agency, with her family, or anywhere. Providing protection at the Tri-City Fair allows her to visit the one place she felt like she belonged.

Thriller author Hawthorne Emerson suspects foul play at the fair after a series of accidents occur. But he has other reasons for being at the fair that include the murder of his sister’s boyfriend and a cult he was glad to escape.

The author takes you through twists, turns, murder attempts, and more that keep you reading. I have enjoyed reading about Jazz in the earlier books. I am glad I finally found out about her past and saw her future. The dynamics between Jazz and Hawthorne make this story jump to life. The immediate chemistry with them being unequally yoked at the start made me want this story to end well.

While you could read this book on its own, I definitely recommend reading the books in order to gain an appreciation for all the members of the Phoenix K-9 team. I feel like something valuable will be lost if you do not read the books in order.

So if you want a Christian K-9 Romantic Suspense novel, check out Lethal Danger by Jerusha Agen along with the rest of the series.

I received a complimentary copy of this book, but this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own.
