This book is an interconnected standalone within the Ends World. While you don't have to read the Ends Duet before reading this book, it is recommended that you do in order to understand the entire Ends World up to this point.
Carolina
I didn’t mean for anyone to get hurt. That wasn’t my intention. And I knew he would come for me. Was it too much to hope he would just forget about me and everything that transpired between us. Forget about my betrayal. Probably. Because here I am… In a box. And he’s out there, lying in wait for me. He wants me to bleed for him. To purge my soul. He wants his pound of flesh, but what he doesn’t know is that I have already sacrificed everything. My body, my soul, just to save the person I love the most. And I have nothing left to give.
Tony
She thinks I've forgotten, and that I'll just let it go. But how can I forget about the worst kind of betrayal? The death of someone I cared about. So I will push her to the point of desperation, to the point of no return. I will break her against my cold, dead heart and see what lies beneath her calm façade. She will suffer my depravity. She will never see me coming.
So happy we got to see more of our favorite characters from The Ends Of Being duet & continue in the world with the morally grey characters we all love
This book started off with a bang and took you for a wild ride- Tony & Carolina’s story is FULL of tension 🧨 The way Mercyann keeps you on the edge of your seat in every. single. book. is nothing short of astonishing - there’s no predicting where the story is going next or what will come out of these characters mouths 🤭 Now time to 𝑓*𝑐𝑘 𝑎𝑟𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑑 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑓𝑖𝑛𝑑 𝑜𝑢𝑡 with everyone in the rest of the series
Ah hell, what can I say? I barely knew Tony and now I wish I had Tony 🥰 “For a moment in time, I thought you had truly betrayed me, and I wanted nothing more than to squeeze your throat until you stopped breathing. But that was when I realized that I love you too much to kill you. I would rather live in a world, knowing that you’re my enemy, than in a world where you didn’t exist.”
Caroline definitely stole the show in this book though. We love a strong FMC who does what she needs to get what she wants. She reclaims her fucking worth along the way and owns that. “You have a choice,” I reply. “You can stand by my side and help me, or you can get the fuck out of my way and watch me.”
There were so many plot twists & turns I was getting fucking whiplash but MAN did they all work well in the overall story. So many more answers were revealed in book 3 thank fuck!
Really hope that group idea is still on the table because I was disappointed that party got interrupted 😩
Totally agree with Matt, Dare and Nettie are disgusting in this book, they never stop 😅 their character growth was unreal though and I love that for them. “It’s a fine line, baby girl. It’s a fine fucking line.”
Also, my poor man Matt, I need more of his story. He's an enigma at this point. “Sometimes, we just gotta learn. And most of the time, we gotta learn the hard way. And sometimes, we have to learn repeatedly. But as long as we learn eventually.”
Read the series, you won't regret it and if you thought book 3 wouldn't be worth it because it wasn't focused on Dare and Nettie, you'd be wrong because dare I say it but I think Tony is better than Dare. A consent king 😈🖤 Also, the women in this are badass. “First, we’re gonna go fuck around. And then, we do whatever the fuck we want.”
I totally didn’t realize this was a series (oops) but it did very well as a standalone. If you are a fan of insta lust and steam then you’ll really enjoy this book. I’m a big Mafia reader myself and was eating this book up. I’m now going to have to go back and read the rest of the series. I would read again and again just to relive Tony and Carolina’s story!
Book Rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Smutty: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
An e-ARC was provided by the author in exchange for and honest review. All thoughts and opinions remain my own.
I loved this book! I didn’t really know much about Tony, but I’m so glad I read this book, I loved Tony and I also loved Carolina! It was an incredible story, which can be read as a standalone! The story flowed well and it got me hooked.
Miss MercyAnn. Holy fuckin hell I’m still sweatin!!! This is AMAZING. Tony has me down on my knees all day every day! Damn. This was action packed, it was mysterious, there were twists, there were turns, there was character development, and a fuck load of top notch spice!! Bravo ma’am bravo. Tony and Carolinas story was my favorite!! They had such amazing chemistry. I can’t wait to pick up Declan’s book!
In "A Fine Line" by MercyAnn Summers, readers are plunged into a gripping tale of revenge, redemption, and unexpected passion. Tony and Carolina, once bitter enemies from a previous installment, find themselves entangled in a web of desire and danger as Tony grapples with his desire for revenge and his growing attraction to Carolina.
The dynamic between Tony and Carolina crackles with tension from the very first page, as Tony wrestles with his desire to exact vengeance upon her for what he perceives as a past wrong. However, as Tony delves deeper into Carolina's world, he begins to uncover layers of complexity and nuance, forcing him to confront his own preconceptions and prejudices.
What sets "A Fine Line" apart is its exploration of morally ambiguous characters and the gray areas of right and wrong. As Tony and Carolina's relationship evolves, readers are drawn into a complex dance of power and desire, where lines between love and hate blur and motivations are called into question.
Summers' prose is electric and unflinching, capturing the raw intensity of Tony and Carolina's connection with searing clarity. While the novel delves into dark and challenging themes, including revenge and trauma, Summers handles these topics with sensitivity and depth, offering readers a compelling exploration of the human psyche.
It's important to note that "A Fine Line" may contain triggers for some readers, particularly those sensitive to themes of revenge and manipulation. However, for fans of enemies-to-lovers romances, mafia intrigue, and darkly passionate encounters, this book is sure to captivate and enthrall.
In conclusion, "A Fine Line" is a riveting read that will keep readers on the edge of their seats from start to finish. MercyAnn Summers has crafted a dark and compelling romance that lingers in the mind long after the final page is turned, making it a must-read for fans of the genre.
Holy moly, this book had me on the edge of my seat the entire time! There were so many twists and turns, whenever something was going right, I had to ask myself what's going to happen next!
A Fine Line is the third book in the Ends World Series and can be read as a standalone. I read this book without reading the first two and was able to understand what was going on but with that being said, I do wish I read the first two books to have a better understanding as to what happened prior to Tony and Carolina's story. I feel like there was some missing pieces for me in regards to the side characters such as Dare and Nettie. But I do not feel like that hindered my experience while reading A Fine Line.
Ok, can we talk about Tony. This man tried so hard not to admit that he wanted Carolina. And EVERYONE saw right through him as he continued to lie through his teeth. I mean, who tries to burn the world down for a woman that he doesn't love? Nice try Tony. But I will say, when he finally realized he was in love, Carolina and the world didn't make it easy for him, which kept the book interesting.
Book Tropes: - Enemies to Lovers - Touch Her and Die Vibes - He Falls First - Mafia Vibes - Trauma Redemption - Vigilante Fuckery - Dark Romance
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 stars Spice: 🌶🌶🌶
Thank you so much to Mercyann Summers and Candi Kane PR for the ARC. These are my honest thoughts, opinions and review.
This book is connected to the world we were introduced and thrown into with the Ends World Duet. It is a standalone, but I think people would enjoy this read so much more if they started with Ends of Being because the relationships are so interconnected and complex. I do also think that if you start at this book, you will still love it and it will have you circling back to the Ends of Being.
This book is just as fast-paced and gripping as the previous books. I love how involved the previous characters we met continue to be and that we continued to get to see where they are at through the eyes of Tony and Carolina. This is a dark, hot read, so please check the trigger warnings. You may also want to set aside a chunk of time because I read this book in one sitting - that’s how good it is! This isn’t a small book, but I could not put it down! There is action, heat, darkness, and humour. You will start on a rollercoaster ride that you just can get off of. I am now counting down the days to the release of Declan because I need more!
My mind is blown by the pure perfection of this book!!! Top read of 2024 and we are 11 days in.
Oh Tony my sweet, sweet man. This guy is as hard core as they come but where his sweetheart is concerned he’s just so swoony- and let’s be honest he doesn’t know how to deal! Carolina grows so much in this book and I adore her.
The writing in this book is top notch, the story telling, character growth and plot development keep the reader interested and engaged. I was sad that I had to stop reading to be an adult. This story will have you feeling all the emotions, you’ll be happy, sad, jaw on the floor, and hot (the spice is top notch in this one) be ready for one wild ride!
* please note, this is book 3 and an interconnected stand alone. While you don’t necessarily need to read the first two books I would highly recommend it as there may be some spoilers for those books*
Sigh Really and truly Good! 🥀 “wherever you need me, whether it be behind you, beside you, or in front of you, I’ll be there. I’ll never waver or cower, and I’ll make you kiss me goodnight every night, even on nights where you’d rather slap me”
This book had me from the beginning to the end After reading Bk 1and2 I couldn’t wait to read Tony’s story and what a read it was with Carolina and the rest of the guys ! We got introduced to Declan who I’m dying to read next . There were definitely a lot of WTF moments that were incredibly hilarious and jaw dropping hot scenes with Carolina and Tony and of course action packed with drama and suspense! Don’t think you can ever guess the outcome, very Twisty this story.
In all seriousness this story highlights the struggle of sex trafficking and other sensitive issues that Carolina had went through while trying to keep her loved one safe . But thank goodness she attracted the attention of an unhinged overly possessive but really good guy , Tony who doesn’t seem to understand the feelings he has for Carolina but always strive towards doing good in any given circumstance gave Carolina the opportunity to handle the situation that she was in without any fear……sigh sweet but scary Tony !
MercyAnn Summers' really outdid herself with this series, She has captured the raw intensity of Tony and Carolina's Attraction with unmistakable chemistry that was evident from the first time these two characters were introduced, While the novel delves into dark and challenging including revenge trauma and lost family, The Author however wrote these topics with sensitivity and depth, offering readers a compelling exploration into the human psyche that was well documented in such a way where it made the story realistic enough to make for a great read ! 🥀 Such a great series ! Definitely worth the read , trust me you won’t be disappointed! What are you waiting for go grab it ! 🥀 Book overview A Fine Line is classified as spicy romantic suspense with dark themes and laughs. While A Fine Line can be read as an interconnected standalone within the Ends World, it is highly recommended that you read the Ends Duet (Ends of Being and What Doesn't Kill Us) beforehand as there are some overlapping plot lines that will be easier to follow after having read the Ends Duet. A Fine Line does NOT end in a cliffhanger. 🥀 Most Definitely 💯 recommend reading this book Make sure to Read TW (trigger warning)‼️ If you’re like me who has no Triggers and wave the red flags high then read on !
I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS BOOK!!! AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND🥰🖤
Tony🤤!!! I absolutely loved Tony! The way he not only made sure Carolina was okay when stuff was getting heated 🥵 but he took care of her and Flora🥹! Seeing him dealing the with emotions Carolina stirs up in him was amazing!! He was in denial but once he came to terms with them he was all in!
Carolina has been through a lot and continues to go through a lot throughout the book! I loved seeing her grow and have the power to stand up for herself and knowing what she wants!!! 🙌🏻
I also absolutely loved Nettie and Dare and definitely adding their book to my TBR!
Check the triggers first, or as I call them a checklist! This is the third book in the series but can be read as a standalone, which I did. I'm looking forward to reading the first two. Besides the spice, which there was a lot of, I love the friendships between Nettie and Carolina, and the book banter between them. We love self-aware girlies. I'm not one for pregnancy tropes but MercyAnn did a pretty good job with it in the end. And besides predicting the FMC and MMC got together in the end I honestly couldn't predict what would happen that often.
A true enemies to lovers, touch her and die, personally I love a good spit in my mouth moment, and finally I love how the MMC for the most part let the FMC lead and he followed, and even if he was leading she was still calling the shots.

If MercyAnn writes it, I will read it. This slow burn with all the family focuses on Tony and Carolina. Tony is more than he appears and Carolina is up for the task. By now you should know the task.. :) There is danger afoot when the challenges of old traitors come back to resolve issues in a way we'd rather not engage. Carolina is working her own fafo when new information and old lost things come into play. This book is a delight. It begins with shackles and ends the same way; but this time the happy " I'm gonna put you in a box" kind. Adventure, drama, unalivement and spice. All wrapped up in a bow. Laughing along the way. Well done MercyAnn. 5 happy stars!
I really enjoyed this book. However, Only after I accepted the ARC read did I realize there was two prior books. And this may just be a personal thing but although written as a standalone I do feel like I was missing references/information and would have preferred to read them in order. I am definitely going to read 1 and 2 though!
I don’t write spoiler reviews, but the plot twist in here. 🤌
This was given to me as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
So this is a standalone within the series HOWEVER I would really recommend reading the first 2 books first just because a lot of things will not make sense without it. The writing in this book was really good, I enjoyed this so much more than the first 2 books which although I liked, I didn’t love. The chemistry was on point, the humour was so good it really did have me giggling a few times. The plot was executed perfectly. One thing I love about Mercyannes books is the FMC is always a badass. They are strong and independent and just ugh I aspire to be like that one day. Also the spice was definitely spicy. The only let down for me was how drawn out and almost repetitive it was.
I enjoyed Tony and Carolina more than i did Toni and Dare, the chemistry was insane! But i loved the twists and turns. I loved the wider family and the friendships in this. Declan is funny and i can't wait to read his book next. One of my favourite parts though was the friendship between Toni and Carolina.
This book was so good ! I just finished the third book in the series and it kept me guessing! When I thought something was going to happen it went the other direction I loved this series and I have already read Declan ! I may re-read soon! Must read
Carolina and Tony's story, and it's a hell of a ride. Car is still recovering from trauma and hated for causing the loss of a friend. Tony is a sweet little psycho and he's got a crush on the Enemy. Full of passion, twists, drama, spice, danger, revenge and darkness. This heated romance packs a punch with the lusty enemies with benefits action.
🔥"I don't see any shame in me wanting to climb you like a tree" 🔥"Now stop trying to butter me up and F*** my mouth already" 🔥"Lean back, sweetheart. Spread your legs for me and let me show you what it's like to have a man worship you"
✨ Free use ✨ Touch her and die ✨ Kidnap ✨ Trauma ✨ Enemies with benefits ❗Triggers ❗
Well… damn. I loved Tony from book one but now I’m devastated I don’t have him for myself!! 🥺 we see some real character development from Tony in this journey, coming to terms with new feelings in new situations. Carolina has been through a lot in her life unfortunately but seeing her blossom made my heart happy. These guys are all just amazing, the whole posse! (But damn you Aggie for interrupting the 3 of them helping Carolina 😏😂) Very excited for Declan’s story next ♥️
Okay, where do I start… In the beginning it was a little slow, till I got to about 20% into the book, it caught my attention, usually I'm not into mafia romances but until I saw ex-military ! knew I was hooked, I also game as well so I heard that, so it peaked my interest in this book even more, I instantly thought a certain someone in my life while reading this!!! I am in love with this book..
But it got really really good at the end i was tearing about 5 times while reading this book, because it made me think of someone in my life who’s protective as Tony is, I will say Tony reminds me of Zade, so to the readers out there if you like Zade Meadows.. YOU WILL LOVE TONY!!! As the quote from the book “I love you too much to kill you. I would rather live in a world, knowing that you’re my enemy, than in a world where you didn’t exist”

First, this is part of a series but can be read as a complete stand alone. I did not read the previous two books prior. Tony and Carolina, the attraction was there from the beginning as well as the lust. Tony hates Carolina, or so he thought because the fine line between hate and love. The enemies to lovers trope, insta lust and touch her and ☠️ vibes. You absolutely fall in love with Tony as unhinged as he is, he will do anything to protect Carolina. I was absolutely hooked from the first chapter, I would definitely recommend picking this book up even if you haven’t read the prior books.
Such a great story teller. Great twists and turns. The spice was great too! I loved both Tony and Carolina. Plus you still get all the characters you fell in love with in the first book. The story was wild and these unhinged characters bring it to life. Definitely highly recommend this read. Job well done.
From the moment I cracked open the pages of 'A Fine Line,' I was utterly captivated—so much so that putting the book down was simply not an option. While it's part of a series, the narrative stands boldly on its own, offering an enticing entry point for both newcomers and those familiar with the preceding two books. Although delving into the series can provide additional context on the characters, the author skillfully weaves enough details to make 'A Fine Line' a standalone gem.
Carolina and Tony's dynamic dances on the edge of enemies to lovers, creating a delightful tension that fuels the narrative. What sets this dark romance apart is the infusion of humor that peppers the entire story. I found myself giggling at the banter and witty exchanges, adding a layer of enjoyment to the overall experience.
Beyond the humor, 'A Fine Line' fearlessly tackles serious issues, providing a platform for Carolina to confront her trauma in a nonjudgmental and empowering manner. Tony, a character painted with nuances, emphasizes consent and grants Carolina the agency to pursue her desires—a refreshing approach that adds depth to their connection.
The narrative unfolds like a whirlwind, with unexpected twists that kept me on the edge of my seat. It's a testament to the author's storytelling prowess that the story not only entertained but also ensnared me in its intricate web. Amidst the twists and turns, one of the highlights was the commendable character development of Carolina. Witnessing her growth and resilience added a poignant layer to the overall narrative, making her journey truly compelling.
Special mention must be made of the friendship between Carolina and Nettie, a dynamic that enriches the story. Their bond contributes to the emotional depth of the narrative, showcasing the author's ability to craft relationships that feel authentic and impactful.
In conclusion, 'A Fine Line' is a dark romance that seamlessly blends humor, tension, and empowerment. It's a story that not only entertains but also addresses substantial themes with finesse. For those seeking a captivating journey into the shadows of desire, this book is an absolute must-read.
Tropes: - Dark Romance - He Falls First - Touch Her and Die - Enemies to Lovers - Mafia Vibes
This is book 3 in this series, but this book can be read as a standalone. I do wish I would have read the other 2 books prior, but I had never heard of this author at the time. I felt a little lost in some things that I felt would be cleared up if I had read the other 2. I'm definitely going to read those now. I need to know about Dare and Nettie.
I love the he falls first, touch her and die vibes. Tony gave me everything in his character. The way he thinks he hates Carolina, but what it really is, love. The chemistry and lust they had for each other was in point. The fact that he will do anything for Carolina, like burn down the city for her. His character is a little unhinged, but that's what makes him hot!
Carolina is such a strong and unwavering FMC. She knows what she wants to do, and she is going to face it head-on. She wants Tony by her side but will do it with it without him. The twist and turns in this book, and there was a lot of them, made it firm out to be interesting. Just because everyone else could see that Tony loved Carolina didn't mean their relationship wouldn't have issues.
I really enjoyed this book. It kept me hooked from the first chapter. I loved these 2 main characters, especially together. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes the thropes listed above..
I received this book as an Advance Readers Copy. I want to thank the airtight and PR company for providing me with this book.

A Fine Line is the third book in the An Ends World series. You can read it as a standalone, but I recommend reading book 1 and book 2 first.
Tony doesn't live in the gray. He sees everything in black and white. But what happens when he finds out Carolin lives in the grey and has all her life? Caroline has been holed up at her place of residence, unable to leave, till Tony finds her and visits her. Always staying in the shadows but he is tired of waiting. On his last visit, words were exchanged, and Caroline went for a walk-off her balcony. She was followed by Tony afterward. Tony then kidnaps Caroline, and let's just say I would let him kidnap me as well. Their whole relationship felt like a Molotov kept being thrown into it, and you could cut the tension with a knife. The dynamic of their relationship is wild, and I am living for it! He made sure Caroline knew she had control of what was happening to her during their "1 on 1" time. The growth of these two strong characters kept me from putting this book down. Caroline takes control of her life. Tony realized his feelings towards her. Tony built Caroline up to be stronger, and Caroline broke Tony's walls down.
“For a moment in time, I thought you had truly betrayed me, and I wanted nothing more than to squeeze your throat until you stopped breathing. But that was when I realized that I love you too much to kill you. I would rather live in a world, knowing that you’re my enemy, than in a world where you didn’t exist.”
I was lucky enough to receive this as an arc for an honest review! These opinions are my own!
Okay let me just start off by saying I didn’t know I could fall for another book man in this world besides Dare, but Tony gave him a run for his money!
I absolutely loved this book! The story itself was so crazy and I had literally no idea where it was going at all! The twists and turns were insane but in an amazing way! It kept me engaged the entire time. SOOO many wtf moments!
TONYYYYY, the MMC, just give him to me wrapped up with a pretty bow please? He’s so protective, unhinged, and OTT and I need more of him. The way he talks to Carolina and protects her is just swoon worthy. I absolutely loved seeing the different sides of him in this story!
Carolina, the FMC, is one tough woman. I adored her. She took her story into her own hands and rewrote it. The way she took her power back was amazing! The chemistry she had with Tony was AMAZING!
Seeing all of the characters come back and hold different roles in this book was so cool to read. I feel like I got to see them all in a different light and it really built their character individually.
THE PLOT TWISTS IN THIS BOOK HAD MY MIND BLOWN! I won’t give it away, but WHAT?!?
All in all I absolutely loved this book and this series!
