Tom Allen’s ROLL WITH IT is like stirring David Sedaris and Anne Lamott together. His essays can be laugh out loud funny, and then you’re confronted (usually gently) with a moral truth. It’s all about the regular stuff of life like driving in traffic, waiting in line, playing hide and seek. Yet Allen makes them anything but ordinary by his wit and his insight. He’s a storyteller from the first page to the last, and since his stories are brief and can be read in any order as stand alone pieces, this book can satisfy even the “but I’m not a reader”s among us!

Inspiring and humorous!

This book is equally fun to read and inspiring. Tom Allen has a way of finding the spiritual in the everyday. He is honest about the human foibles we all have and is able to find humor in them in a way that doesn't berate or belittle, but creates compassion for ourselves and others. I would highly recommend this inspiring, heartfelt, and fun read!
