Additionally, I want my men and women to be relatable. That means allowing room for everyday problems and, for lack of a better word, flaws. My characters will never be perfect.

This throuple might just be my new favourite set of characters from Cara!
I absolutely adored everything about this story - from the painfully shy Gael, who'd suffered some serious confidence abuse from his ex-stalker boyfriend which had seen him questioning everything about himself, to the strong desire to service justice of Joshua Santiago Jones, through to the slow breaking down of the walls he'd established by Professor Dean Aavik - it all just worked for me.
It's a pretty swoony romance too, from the moment Santiago meets Gael, he has a need to look after him, his Daddy tendencies coming out in full force. But he's also been dancing around the edges with Dean for years too. So when they meet again, after a four year gap, and discover they're both single, it gives Santiago a possible future he's been hoping for.
All three men are interested in protected group play, Gael's never had the chance to explore his kinks, other than he knows he wants some sort of domestic servitude and he needs a Daddy - or two!
I loved the way Cara built up the relationship between the three men by playing on each of their strengths to encourage the others and the way there's no prevarication. Santiago lays it out with both men what he wants and what he hopes they can have together.
We get to see them slowly build up the trust needed to be in a complicated (on paper) relationship and then the ease with which they slide into one when they're forced to move to McLean House when Gael's stalker ex shows up again.
No plot spoilers here, but I'll just say Cara's The Game series is a favourite of mine for the multitude of ways she manages to write about kink and BDSM without ever making it feel boring or overdone.
This book is a perfect blend of sweet and heat.

2.5 - Unfortunately I really wasn’t feeling this one. I loved Kathleen’s review and feel that sums this up really well although she was far more generous than I. Im not great at writing lovely essay reviews but these are the main points.
- 3 POV. I’ve much preferred the books in this series from one or two POV. I didn’t feel the characters had any substance other than Gael.
- The main plot line only came to fruition with a very sudden ending in the third epilogue. This made the ending weirdly heavy on the action and also made the whole stalker storyline feel inconsequential.
- Multiple epilogues? The ending felt really disjointed.
- Lots of stuff happened off page and referred to after it had happened including most of the early relationship development.
- I love that they have clearly negotiated kink and their plans are well communicated but I couldn’t help but feel bored by these three.
- I liked seeing the couples from previous books which is a major part of why I keep reading this series. It’s got a real found family vibe and I love seeing how these unconventional relationships are going later on but sometimes I felt like the characters were just included in a token way, like a formula had been written for this book and the characters just popped into their places. There are so many characters now, maybe that’s a factor? I’m not sure. Maybe there was just too many of the newer characters that I didn’t know well and not the older faves.
- The Game that this series focuses on with each book fell pretty flat here.
- Not sure about the set up for the next book. I do think it’ll be good to revisit an existing couple but I wasn’t a fan of the way the lead up was included.

Yet another easy reading, comforting installment in the Game Series, Cara Dee’s kinky utopia full of horny brats, perky painsters, and sentimental sadists who are all up in each other’s business all the time. This round we get characters who’ve only gotten minor mentions thus far: Santiago, a 40-something retired cop turned private detective who’s getting back on the kink horse after a long period of overwork and burnout; Dean, Walker’s (foster) brother and Macklin’s brother-in-law, a 50-something professor who has Given Up On Finding Love; and Gael, a 24-year-old baby kinkster recovering from an emotionally abusive relationship that left his self-esteem in tatters. Santiago and Dean knew each other from the scene and always had a connection, but never acted on it because they were never single at the same time; Gael is relatively unknown to both, coming first to Santiago's attention when one of the Tenley twins asks him to look into the stalkery ex, and onto Dean’s radar when he takes his class at university. (Note: Gael and Dean do not initiate a sexual relationship until after Gael drops the class, although it’s a close-run thing.) Santiago is a Daddy dom, Dean a Dom who enjoys high-protocol and domestic servitude (and discovers a heretofore unexplored Daddy side once there is a boy in the house), and Gael a Little and submissive interested in servitude and group play.
If you’ve read a few of these, you’ll recognize the elements: at least one MC with a heavy backstory (Gael and the ex); insta (the triad is initiated relatively quickly, and goes from 0 to 100 at warp speed); low-angst (relationships that are immediately solid, no third-act breakups); kink as lifestyle beyond bedroom play (meaning: regression, brattiness, the Daddy(ies) taking responsibility for the Little in their relationship); and heavily negotiated kink. No pain play in this one; Gael is not a maso or into degradation.
The Game Series is very process-oriented and puts great emphasis on communication, both in and outside the bedroom. These dudes talk it out long before they (redacted) it out, and then they talk it out again after. Things almost never escalate; issues are defused via conversation before they get to shouting or door slamming (unless physical punishment is an agreed element of the kink relationship, as with Kit and Corey). Writing-wise, Dee’s style can best be described as briskly efficient: we get from point A to point B via simple, direct writing, at the tradeoff of great depth, insight or affecting prose. Basically: if any of the points above are struggle tropes, or if the idea of low-angst negotiated kink makes you want to watch paint dry, the Game Series is probably not for you. But if you’re into it, the recurrence of these beats and tropes and the breezy, chatty style makes this series a kinky comfort blanket. You know you’ll get some hot af scenes in the context of genuinely nice people whose relationships are disturbingly well-functioning, thanks to the magic of communication.
I was initially going to round down from 3.5 because I felt the relationship lacked depth: Santiago, Dean, and Gael are sweet enough, but there’s not a huge amount of there there. The best Game Series books have all been single POV (the Kit and Colt books; the Greer and Corey books; Shay’s book), and juggling three POVs – two of which, Santiago and Dean’s, are very similar – pre-empts really getting to know the characters. Gael could easily have been the only POV character, as his story is the heart of the book; Santiago has very little to do other than look dreamily at his men, and Dean mostly grumbles about feeling too old for Gael before immediately jettisoning his reservations. The game at the heart of this installment, a kinky academy, was also a dud – ending with a whimper rather than a bang, quite literally – and the pacing at the end went haywire, with a huge amount happening in the last 10 percent before a screechingly abrupt ending. Cara Dee subsequently announced rewrites to the end and sent out a new ARC, on the basis of which I decided to bump it up instead. The game got a more enjoyable conclusion, and the ending was rewritten to give it more breathing room. It is still backloaded, action-wise, but it was a significant enough improvement that I leaned into being nice.
Tl; dr: if you like the Game Series, you’ll probably enjoy this; if you have tried the other books and didn’t like them, this probably won’t change your mind; if you're Game Series-curious but haven't read any yet, you're better off diving in earlier in the series so that you get a better sense of the main recurring characters. I like this series – like I said, it's a kinky comfort blanket – and it’s always fun to see the other characters popping in, but there’s nothing particularly mind-blowing here. Speaking of blowing, though, that group play scene -- phew!

As predicted, I did enjoy this more than my girls Ele and Renee did, but I do agree with them that more relationship development was needed. Hide With Me was high on the filth scale (bless Cara Dee!) but low on relationship development. I rather enjoyed the orgy scene.... Anywho, I'm looking forward to the next installment, though I do hope Ms. Dee pays a visit to Camassia Cove sooner rather than later. I miss those peeps.

One of my absolutely, no questions asked, all-time favorite series. The characters in this series are filtered in and out of one each other's lives throughout...so starting at the first of the series will help you to understand where the happenings are...well, happening:) There is sometimes a lot of BDSM in the stories...just saying, in case that's not your thing. Dean, Santiago, and Gael get their story told in this one. Gael's ex, (I called him the creep), that appeared in several of the other books, is still trying to interfere in his life...but unknown to Mr. Creep. little Gael now has not one but two big protectors. Of course, we got to journey to McClean House. What would The Game series be without a visit? The Mclean House founders and the community ties that extend beyond the kink are ultimately what leads to the multiple incidents for this story. The founders take their responsibility to their members very seriously. It doesn't matter if it's safety issues; (Reese asking Santiago to use his investigative skills to check on Gael’s stalker ex), or something a little more…personal; (Macklin suggesting that Gael take Dean’s "course" once he discovers they have shared interests. The dynamic between Santiago and Dean evolves a bit more naturally, when the "Powers That Be", decide to allow for these two guys to finally explore what might be developing between them. Cara Dee has gifted us with one of the most dramatic external plots we’ve ever had in this series. Santiago’s desire to protect Gael and Dean, and with the forces of Mclean House backing him up, brings a whole new meaning to the concept of a “safe house” while also giving these characters the space, with only a bit of force, to develop in their individual relationships. Another series that I hope never ends.

I decided to post my rant-y review anyway. 🤷🏻
I think it’s finally time to hang my hat on Cara and that makes me REALLY sad.
The writing is just.. cheesy? The plot is cliche and has completely lost the magic this series was so brilliant at in the beginning. I miss that Cara. Because of her last few so very disappointing releases and consistently getting my hopes up… I’m going to have to shelve her. Never thought I’d say that.
The relationship development is very surface level and nearly all of it is off page. It’s not there then it’s just magically there and everyone is fucking and swoony.
The first sex scene between the three of them, it cuts half way then the rest of it is glossed over. Like. Whut. And that’s it. Nearly 40% of the story is leading up to and about the fucking orgy with old characters. And the orgy wasn’t even good. The descriptions about who was where doing what were all over the place and there were time jumps that made it even more confusing. Did Cara even write this?? Look.. I have been reading this series for years. And the reason is because she is so good at kink and poly dynamics and sharing. But you can’t fucking write all of that if you don’t bother to properly develop a relationship! I felt absolutely NOTHING for these characters. A 341 page book and I just don’t give a shit.
And after reading a disappointing orgy, I skimmed the Game scene. Because I literally didn’t care anymore. And the whole stalker ex thing was just a poorly done throw in.
And where was ANYTHING between Dean and Santiago?? God this book is a mess.
This is an admittedly stupid niggle, but there are cabins that people actually live in next to McLean house. With sinks and toilets and kitchens…. So there is plumbing… but no showers. In the cabins. That people live in. If someone wants to shower, they have to go to the main house. It makes NO SENSE. Not only that, the showers people clean themselves in in the main house is ALSO THE WATERSPORTS ROOM. WHAT.
And don’t even fucking get me started about the epilogues. 🤬🤬🤬
I was disappointed in her last few releases but held out hope she hasn’t gone down the Walker/Neuhold/Morton “used to be good but suck now” hole. But she has. I’m irrationally angry about it actually.

I absolutely love this series but for the first time in 13 books the story has fallen a bit short of what I expected. This one just seemed to lack the depth this author is known for, even with the last minute content that was added to the ARCs.
Overall I had a hard time connecting with the 3 main characters and their relationship. I didn’t find them exciting at all.
And while there should have a been a lot of angst and suspense, the plot with Caleb’s ex was a tad lacklustre and didn’t feel particularly threatening.
And when we finally got to the “Game” it was, it pains me to say, a bit boring.
The best bits for me were the secondary characters. They shone on every page. Their banter felt like comic relief but they are written so well it’s like seeing old friends again.
You can’t love them all so I’ll still eagerly await the next book in this series. Until then a series reread might be in order.

I'm sorry, I think I'm not the right crowd for this. This was my least favorite so far in the series, probably my least favorite by Cara Dee. If you think about it, it was just a big orgy with little to no relationship development.
This review is in no way representative of how I generally feel about this author's work. I just don't mesh with The Game in general, I think. But I keep on reading because it's Cara Dee and I can't say no.

Definitely one of my favourites in this series. Mostly because of precious Gael — actually all of the characters of this triad.
The plot around Gael’s ex-boyfriend was definitely the focus of the book. The kink was a bit more secondary (and the kinks represented in this book aren’t new at all) but we do get a few scenes here and there. The Game was the main kink even though (which I loved by the way) because I refuse to include the orgy in the kink category.
But to get back on track, the plot was really just right up my alley. Throw in a triad and daddy kink and you got me hooked in a heartbeat. I really loved the idea of this book.
What I also loved about this book was the chemistry. Dean and Santiago were hot as fuck — throw in some Gael and you got the perfect triad (at least in my opinion). I really loved them together.
I also enjoyed them having insecurities — mainly Gael and his body insecurities and Dean and the age-gap thing. I really enjoyed the realness of it all and how supportive they were with each other.

The cherry on top of this sex-filled dream of a book was the plot, though the shitty ex-boyfriend only got his well deserved ending in the second epilogue! That was maybe a little late for my liking but them again I can’t say I minded it all that much.

I was really looking forward to seeing more of Dean, the college professor, brother of Walker, and casual liaison with Walker’s husband Macklin who we got to know in the previous book. Those two had been super freakin hot together, and I wanted MORE. The other two MCs in this MM poly romance, Santiago & Gael, were relative unknowns. The three of them connected & formed a triad relationship pretty quickly, and while Insta-love is often a feature of Cara’s books, and I usually have no issue with it, I just didn’t quite feel the connection between these 3. I liked them, but it didn’t hit at the same level of adoration I usually have for Cara’s books.
Also, I felt like one of the major plot points, the stalker ex, wasn’t used or resolved as satisfactorily as I would have liked.

I never thought I'd see a book in this series that i didn't enjoy. I dont get the point of the stalker ex if nothing really happened. It was just sort of mentioned here and there, which made it feel unnecessary.
There wasn't the deep character development we usually get. In previous books, it felt like you knew each character and their backgrounds. Its mentioned that Dean and Santiago have had feeling for each other for years, but theres no flashbacks or conversations to give us much insight into their past. I felt like there wasn't enough time building a connection in Gael, Santiago, and Deans relationship before concentrating more on a group scene and the game. As much as i love cameos from the past couples, it was too much of them and not enough of the 3 main characters. It felt like the side characters all outshined the MCs. I missed the detailed sex scenes we usually get between the main characters. Hopefully, this is a one-off because this is one of my favourite series

This is honestly my fave series from Cara and I loved being back in this world. Not just for Dean/Gael/Santiago's story but we get to see past favourites and how things have developed in their dynamics.
I really enjoyed Dean's appearances in previous books so I was so stoked we finally got his story and I feel like the dynamic he shares with Gael and Santiago is perfection! A brilliant blend of their personalities and kinks. That is possibly the biggest draw to this series, while it is about kink Cara does a brilliant job of brining more to the characters and their relationships than just their kinks. The brats and sadists taunting bring such a fun and light element to this series too.
So it's probably no surprise that I loved this story and I'm so looking forward to the next book. I feel a series reread binge will definitely occur before the next games release.

Another win for The Game Series
Santiago Dean and Gael were one of the more adorable soft dynamics of this series so far, and I really enjoyed it. Gael is healing after relationship abuse, and with help he slowly reclaims his confidence and life back - a character arc I absolutely love.
The real surprise for me was Dean though. We’ve met the Middle Aged navy vet historian / professor several times and he was always very confident, composed, proper, smart. In Hide With Me we get to see his adorable side. His somewhat flustered and bashful side. The side that gets huffy and loves sugary treats. Who actually comes around to the idea of his partners helping in taking care of him and checking in about his insulin and meal intake (when before he was v private about it).
The game itself this time around was a quick academy theme and not as in-depth of graphic as and angsty as in past books and that was a perfect match for this softer, more cuddly dynamic.
Also, Noa is still hilarious, I’m case anyone was wondering.

Cara Dee does it again, ladies and gentlemen!
She gives us another charming, beautiful and amazing story that cannot be put down. With characters that you cannot help but love.

In Hide with Me, Gael - our shy and sweet boy who always cancelled plans with the kinksters last minute - is approached by Santiago, a PI who has been previously hired by a certain Tenley twin, to be warned and informed that his ex is in town. An ex, from whom Gael had run away a while ago. That’s not all. Gael is a history enthusiast and thanks to Macklin the meddler’s meddling, ends up taking one class with Professor Aavik. Professor Aavik, the man he’s had a crush on. Professor Aavik who happens to know Santiago and be insanely attracted to him.
But Santiago wants to protect Gael and needs to stay professional. And Aavik is Gael’s professor and won’t act on his attraction as long as the boy is in his class. What will these men do?
If you love sweet stories this book is so sweet, the characters so sweet, that you’ll get cavities. It’s not just a HEA book, it’s a happy book from beginning to end.
The chemistry, love, and affection between these men is so beautiful and amazing and awwwwww.
Cara’s characters are always right. They always click. With each other and with the reader.
I loved the straightforwardness of their beginning. The way Santiago was honest and spelled out what he wanted from the get-go. And man, how I wish we had that in all relationships. I loved the chemistry and connection between the main characters. I loved how the body image topics were handled in this book. I loved the writing as usual, it brought a smile to my face and made my heart beat a happy beat all through the book.
Subjectively: I needed more angst and heartbreak.
Objectively: the book is absolute perfection, the story, the plot, the characters, the love story . Mwah! Chef’s kiss
If you love MMM romance books set in a kinky world, then do yourself a favour and pick this book (and all the others that come before it) up and enjoy the ride. Cara Dee’s portrayal of the BDSM world is something you don’t see everywhere. It is hot but it is also something healthy, which is seen very rarely unfortunately.

Some were funny, some were downright adorable. What I would say though, the part concerning our man Lucien in this new version added more to the story which is fantastic. But I wish we saw more of Cam’s panic even in that little scene.

What’s the point of having a major plot point if the entire resolution is in an epilogue?
Ok ok, so I get that plot is not the main drive if these books as their focus is more just on the interpersonal relationships, but when you DO introduce a major potential conflict and continually bring it up I definitely would expect it to be addressed in the main body of the book.

7/24 attempted to reread: I can’t. I just have zero interest.
I have loved every book in this series until this one. Is it me? Maybe it’s me. It just didn’t affect me the way these books usually do. I loved seeing the side characters again. And it’s not that I didn’t like these guys…but I was bored.

Writing my review as I read the book… 🚨🚨🚨spoilers ahead so look away….
Hide with me is right. Like all the fade to black sex scenes. Yikes SO many. It got to be annoying. No Valentine’s Day triad sex. No Dean agreeing to Gael calling him Daddy for the 1st time sex with them going 1 on 1 for the first time. 🙄🙄🙄🙄. All these milestones in their relationship poof 💨 nothing but fade to black smoke 😑. Annoying AF.
60% in and there was just ONE triad sex scene. The only sex scene with Dean and Santiago was during an orgy with 5 other people 🙄🙄🙄🙄Orgies are fine but the triad was the whole point of the book.
The Caleb situation which was the whole HUGE plot point got resolved at the very very end. WTF 😳 AND there was the only sex scene with all 3 of them. Meh. Cara this was not good. I guess intimacy doesn’t matter if you have sex with anyone and everyone. Huge disappointment. The connection between them felt off. This book was long enough that you could have got there but ran out of time. When you churn out book like a library mill you gotta expect a few that will leave you unsatisfied. Is my Cara binge over?? I’ll read the next game one,then a break. I’m curious if Lucien overworks himself to death. Literally. 😑😑😑😑

I swear, I will NEVER grow tired of this series or these characters. The background characters are always just as amazing as the characters that the book is based on.
This book focuses on Dean, Santiago, and Gael. Gael is an absolute angel that needs to be protected at all costs! I have always been intrigued with Dean because… come on now he is delicious. I was shocked at just how much I ended up loving Santiago! He was such a wonderful partner to Gael and Dean. These books can be read as a standalone, but I can’t recommend enough that you start from the beginning because then all the side characters will mean so much more to you. Triads for the win
Why does Cara have a penchant for making some pretty poignant or intimate moments happen off page?! I’ve complained about this before and I gotta do it again here. The first time Santiago, Dean and Gael are finally together starts on page, then goes fade to black. Why?!? And by 60% in, Dean and Gael have been together several times and they’ve been all off page. It’s very frustrating to me at times.
Okay. I’ve got my main complaint out of the way. I really did love Gael, Santiago and Dean together. They worked so well. Both Santiago and Dean were possessive and protective while letting their boy explore within his community at the same time. There were plenty of hot moments throughout, but the growing triad was really highlighted for me. Dean was the hold out and even that wasn’t for long.
The Caleb situation wasn’t resolved until the THIRD!!!! epilogue. Why we ever need three epilogues is beyond me, but I digress. I wish it had been wrapped up as part of the main story.

Gael and Santiago's dynamic felt more fleshed out and touching to me compared to the others in this poly relationship. But regardless I always really enjoy a Game book to some degree.

Oh Gael… This sweet, funny and adorable little brat! He just moved straight into my heart and stayed there, and I completely adored him and his two very protective Daddies!
I loved to finally see more of my favourite kink community, and I’ve been very excited for this book! There had been some glimpses of all three men in earlier books, but nothing in depth so it was great to finally get to know them. It was a really sweet and pretty low angst story, the main source of suspense and anticipation came from the situation with Gael’s stalker, which was constantly in the background.
The relationship between Gael, Santiago and Dean moved pretty fast, and I loved the chemistry and attraction between them. Gael was just adorable and I enjoyed his PoV a lot, his thoughts and reactions felt so genuine and pure. His character development was fantastic and it was lovely to see the way his Daddies helped him to work on his insecurities and self confidence. There were a lot of funny remarks and some great banter between them, their personalities fit together really well, and their interactions were very entertaining.
I’ll probably say this about every book Cara Dee writes, but the way she writes her characters is amazing. I have to keep reminding myself that they aren’t real, because they feel so very, very real while reading. I keep getting intrigued by every single character introduced to this community and I can’t wait to get their stories!
Hide With Me was overall a sweet and heartwarming addition to the Game series! I loved seeing these men fall for each other, and the kink and steam was very well written and hot as always! I have a feeling I’ll reread this one a lot…

How I love the world of The Game Series!!! I wanna live with them!
This author writes stories I just can’t put away, I have to keep reading and reading!
This story is about Gael, Joshua, and Dean, respectively at the ages of 24, 42, and 54.
Joshua and Dean have known each other for years and always seem to miss the chance to get together for real.
Dean is a history professor, Joshua is a PI and Gael is the boy who follows Dean’s history classes with hearts in his eyes.
One day Gael meets Joshua, who wants to protect him against Gael’s nasty ex, and Gael has a second man he looks up to with hearts in his eyes.
The fact is Gael and Dean both are members of the McLean House BDSM community.
When the three come together, gosh my heart, a Dom, a Daddy, and a submissive boy, what an incredible superb combination!
“When Littles and Middles lost their filters, all was well in the world.”
It was so freaking enjoyable, delicious, joy, humor, scenes, dedication, gratitude, and a whole lot of LOVE!!!
The angst with the ex was a bit in the background and that was awesome, there’s enough to enjoy without it.
We meet all the characters from the Game series, because yes, games! It’s soooo much fun.
I didn’t want it to stop 😔

This was another great story from Cara Dee following Dean, Santiago and Gael who were introduced in previous books. It was nice to see such different characters in a relationship together and the details of the game events were slightly more toned down than in some of the previous stories which I personally preferred. Overall I would highly recommend to thise who have enjoyed other books from Cara Dee.

Oh dear..
It’s really rare for me to give Cara anything less than five stars on a book, but this book is a three star read for me. While I did enjoy the book, I was definitely disappointed as well. I’ve read every book in this series, but I feel like this book didn’t have the same weight as the others did.
This book definitely touches on some of my fav things like nursing and exploring. But I struggled a bit with the chemistry between the characters. We never really got full glimpses of Santiago in other books. He’s mentioned a lot but this is the first book where we’re really meeting him. In previous books, he’s mentioned to be kind of hard and strict. And I didn’t get that at all in this book. He’s the complete opposite and it felt like he had a saviour complex.
I would have liked to see moments of the past because Dean and Santiago have had feelings for each other forever. But compared to the other books, it feels like everything was kind of rushed. I would have liked to have seen more on their dynamic between the three of them and setting their limits and pushing their limits. And the sub plot of Gael’s ex just felt lost throughout most of the story. It felt like group play was kind of rushed before their dynamic was really fully defined and developed.
I did enjoy the book and the Games event they had for this. And watching Gael get his confidence back - though it didn’t really seem like it was gone - and watching him go after what he wanted. I’m excited for the next book though because I’ve been waiting for Lucian and Cam’s side of things forever.

Cara Dee is hands down my favorite m/m author. The way she tells a story grips me right from the start, and her characters feel like they are real people that I could sit down next to in a cafe somewhere and chat with for hours. The Game series is what brought me to Cara initially so I'm always really excited when a new book comes out.
This book tells the story of Gael (a Little/Middle), Santiago/Joshua and Dean (the daddies). Gael has an ex boyfriend who keeps stalking him, and despite a restraining order and moving to the other side of the country, his ex won't quit. His self esteem is in the toilet, and he's been hiding away from the world. In comes Santiago (a detective turned PI) who looks into Gael's past when the Founders are concerned, and Dean (Gael's history professor).
Things I liked? Waffled. What a fun place of employment & a place I really want to exist. Sounds so yummy! I loved how Santiago and Dean always had a thing for each other but the timing was never right - and then here comes Gael and they suddenly both want all in.
With all that said, this book was only...fine. Yes, it pains me to write that. When it comes to Daddies and Littles, Cara is top notch. No other author writes that niche as well, IMHO. But this one just fell flat for me. I wasn't connecting to the characters like I'm used to. I didn't feel like the relationships between the three of them had real development. The Game was pretty lackluster which kills me because usually that is one of the best parts of the books in this series.
I will say that I read the original ARC first, and then the revised ARC that Cara put out a few days later because she wasn't happy with how things ended originally. And I agree. The new ending felt more flushed out and way less rushed. So major kudos to Cara for her recognizing that and not being afraid to make changes. I'd much rather an author not meet a deadline and take more time to write a story worth reading than rush to put something out.

This was a sweet and sexy story with a little bit of suspense sprinkled in via Gael's ex being a jerk. I really enjoyed the overall story and the combination of Santiago, Dean, and Gael definitely works for me. However the pacing of the relationship development felt off to me at times throughout the book, and the kink/BDSM aspect of things never quite hit the mark the way that books from Cara tend to do without fail for me. There wasn't anything wrong with any of it as such, to my reckoning at least, but something felt like it was missing perhaps? It wasn't enough to ruin my enjoyment of the book or cause me not to finish it, it just diminished my enjoyment relative to other books in The Game series unfortunately.
