Poke Check by Lasairiona McMaster 5⭐️ Cedar Rapids Raccoons novella Does it get any better than more time with the Raccoons?! As always, I enjoyed every moment with these characters! Their team captain is told to figure math out, or get off the team. All August has, all he knows, is hockey and his team. So he knows he has to do what he needs to stay on the team. Which means being tutored by Rowan. That man instantly folded, addicted at first glance. Then there’s glaring and whipped cream and raspberries. Then the tension really explodes! Rowan and August definitely fit right in with the rest of the team/characters. I’m definitely glad I got to spend time with them! My Favorite Quotes: • “I need to touch you.” • “Come for me. So I can fuck you till you scream.” 7/10 Dirty Birdy college
Holiday Hat Trick by Jami Davenport 4⭐️ Seattle Sockeyes novella After finally getting the good luck he’s been waiting for, Brogan’s luck changes when his vindictive ex loses her mind. Thankfully, Teddi enters his life at just the right moment. I was NOT expecting to cry reading this! I adored their “this could be the one” moment. This man was a goner, and I loved every second of it! The kind of Hallmark adorable that I love with some spice and a sprinkle of hockey and I definitely enjoyed reading this! My Favorite Quotes: • “I’m the Ghost of Christmas Future.” • “You deserve a man who reveres you. I’m going to be that man.” pro instalove Christmas
Always My Girl by Jennifer Sucevic 4⭐️ Western Wildcats Hockey novella I instantly knew I needed to protect my own heart while Viola and Madden protected theirs. These high school sweethearts are now in college together, both still suffering from their break up years ago. Madden was swamped, miserable, defeated, and afraid to voice that to her. Just heartbroken scared kids trying to figure out college and their hearts. He just wants one more chance, and while Viola is hesitant, she can’t help but give him one. There was no denying their love, although she does try her hardest to! My Favorite Quotes: • “In my heart, it’ll always be you.” • “I can honestly say I’ve never seen anything more beautiful.” • “If I couldn’t have you, I didn’t want anyone else.” 7/10 Dirty Birdy college second chance
Snowed by Elise Faber 4⭐️ Jolie just wanted to be comfy at home, and instead, she got the reality check of a lifetime. Good thing her knight in shining armor is right there to witness it, and catch her when she falls. Nothing is more important to Leo than hockey. But taking care of Jolie? I’m obsessed with their instant obsession with each other. I couldn’t get enough of their need to be in each other’s orbits. 7/10 Dirty Birdy pro instalove
Puck Shy Player by R.C. Stephens 4⭐️ After Kierran puts her foot in her mouth for the millionth time, Matt surprises her by asking for her help. And what they both get is so much more! My heart ached for both of them. They both struggle with self doubt and discouragement for different reasons. I loved that they saw each other in the ways they deserved to be seen, accepted. My Favorite Quotes: • “I happen to like that sweet mouth of yours.” • “I don’t think there is anything you could say right now that would make me want to take you to bed any less.” • “You keep looking at me like that and I may not stay a gentleman.” 7/10 Dirty Birdy pro
My Favorite Christmas Present by Gina Azzi 4⭐️ Years after Hudson left Piper feeling like an idiot, the time has come for them to spend Christmas together. Add in their families being best friends and neighbors, and being snowed in alone…well, things finally come to light. Like how scared he was. How heartbroken she was. How badly they missed each other, missed being best friends. Hudson doesn’t just shoot his shot, he jumps in head first! And thankfully, they quickly figure their crap out before I needed to knock their heads together! My Favorite Quotes: • “You don’t know how long I’ve wanted to do that.” • “Right now, this, you, are the only thing that matters.” • “We do this, you’re mine, honey. For keeps.” 7/10 Dirty Birdy pro best friends to lovers
The Trade Up by Julia Connors 5⭐️ I loved Zach and Ashleigh instantly! Their flirting made me giddy! Zach’s in town for a game, and Ashleigh is waiting to see if she’ll be moving across the country for school. Which is the perfect recipe for just enjoying a moment together without any stress. She’s smart, and it’s intimidating. But Zach sees it as a turn on, not as a reason to belittle her. (Something else I loved!) And because the universe knows what it’s doing, they get actually what they deserve! My Favorite Quotes: • “You don’t even know me.” “Yeah, but I want to know you.” • “Nothing little about it, sweetheart.” • “Eyes on me while I’m inside you.” • “Baby, you being here is all the luck I need.” 7/10 Dirty Birdy pro
First of all, this anthology is part of a fundraiser for After Action, a 501(c)3 non-profit that seeks to increase economic outcomes after trauma recovery, and it contains 12 stories, I read every one of them and they were good, some were prequels to a full book and are already on my tbr because I liked them, they are all about professional and college hockey players, and almost all of the stories (except 3 of them) are set during the Christmas holidays and so I count it as a Christmas book.
I'll leave you with some opinions on some of these stories, which I certainly liked the most:
My Favorite Christmas Present by Gina Azzi: I liked this one, the friends to lovers was good, I can't deny that. The story of the two who have been friends since they were little but separating after prom, years go by and they meet again and even though they have grown up nothing has changed and the feelings they hide come out as adults.
Christmas with Conner by Victoria Denault: In this story we were given a few chapters of what will be a complete book, he is a professional hockey player hiding from his family since he was traded to the minor league team and she is hiding from her ex-boyfriend who cheated on her, I liked this one and can't wait to know more about this couple.
Snowed by Elise Faber: Ohh this was one of the ones I liked the most because even though everything happens fast this story has room for more and there is a chance that we will get a book about this couple!!!! She finds her boyfriend and her best friend making out and just our hockey player is the one who saves her from everything.
The Trade Up by Julia Connors: A plea to Julia to give us more of this couple because I wanted more!!!! A good start to her new series and with such charming characters, although yes, very instalove that I can't deny them.
Scoring in Vegas by Sierra Hill: One night, that's all they said it would be and it ended up being more, this story gives way to a book by the same couple that I can't wait to read.
Thanks to1852 Media for the e-arc in exchange for my honest review!!

Kat Mizera Shot at Love Maria and Adam were in their late 50’s and both had lost their spouse. It had to be hard having older children be resentful that you found love again, at least it was for some of Maria’s children. It was sweet how the two snuck off to Las Vegas to get married. Things don’t go smoothly there once they are married.
Jami Davenport Holiday Hat Trick Men sometimes don’t know how to let their minds lead them instead of another part of their body! Unfortunately Brogan used his other part of his body and finally saw how bad his ex girlfriend was. She was not happy that he chose his dog over her. She did something awful that ended up turning out good for him. This is cute short story.
Lasairiona McMaster Poke Check August played hockey in college and was about to graduate, but needed help with math to pass. His coach got him a tutor named Rowan that August got along with at first. He was so upset when his buddies told him she was his worst enemies’ girl. Things were messed up then.
Gina Azzi MyFavorite Christmas Present This is such a sweet love story. Hudson and Piper had lived next door to each other and were best friends through high school. I felt horrible for Piper as just before graduation she tried to kiss Hudson to show him he meant more than just a good friend, and he shot her down. The two had gone through college, had jobs (Hudson being a pro hockey player), and Piper came home for Christmas. Hudson had no idea why she was short with him while he was trying to start their friendship back together. I loved what finally happened, and Hudson’s parents were a hoot! This is such a good short story.
This collection of twelve short hockey novellas was absolutely fantastic! They were all great stories with wonderful characters by amazing authors. I would definitely recommend this anthology to fans of hockey romance, and it’s for such a good cause too! See my more in depth reviews below.
SHOT AT LOVE - KAT MIZERA: I thought Adam and Maria’s story was super cute, and I also thought it was so lovely that they found their way to each other even though they’d both experienced loss.
HOLIDAY HAT TRICK - JAMI DAVENPORT: I’m not usually a fan of the insta love trope, but I was pleasantly surprised by Brogan and Teddie! Their connection was instantaneous, and I loved the addition of Brogan’s dog, Wrigley.
POKE CHECK - LASAIRIONA MCMASTER: I’m a huge fan of Lasairiona McMaster, and “Poke Check” didn’t disappoint! August and Rowan’s story was on the shorter side, but it didn’t feel rushed, and I loved their chemistry.
MY FAVORITE CHRISTMAS PRESENT - GINA AZZI: This was a really cute second chance romance about former childhood best friends Hudson and Piper, who reconnect after spending a long time apart. I thought they were both likable characters, as well!
CHRISTMAS WITH CONNER - VICTORIA DENAULT: This one was so fun! Conner is home because there’s going to be a change in his hockey career, and he’s hiding from his family because he doesn’t want to tell them. In this novella he reconnects with Mackenzie Larue, his childhood crush, and their chemistry was amazing! I really enjoyed this story.
DEAL BREAKER - CATHRYN FOX: I was actually really surprised by how much I loved Rhys and Leeza! Their connection was instantaneous and even though there was a little bit of drama I’m happy with how their story ended.
SNOWED - ELISE FABER: Leo and Jolie’s insta love romance was so freaking adorable! Their story was one of my top three favorites in this anthology. I loved how growly and possessive Leo was, and I loved Jolie for her confidence and because she was able to stand up for herself.
PUCK SHY PLAYER - R.C. STEPHENS: I actually really liked Matt and Kierran’s story! Matt was a total sweetheart, and I could relate to Kierran because of her awkwardness and the fact that she had no filter. They made a super cute couple!
THE TRADE UP - JULIA CONNORS: Okay, so I thought Zach and Ashleigh’s story was amazing! I was rooting for them the whole time, and they were both likable characters. I also really loved their chemistry.
ALWAYS MY GIRL - JENNIFER SUCEVIC: Madden and Viola’s second chance romance was full of angst, but it was also spicy and sweet! Despite their time apart, their connection never faded, and I really enjoyed the way Madden was willing to do anything to earn Viola’s trust and love back.
SCORING IN VEGAS - SIERRA HILL: Okay, so I really loved Ballas and Karis’s story, even if it was just the beginning of it! Their night together was extremely passionate, and I definitely want to know how their story ends.
MERRY MATCHMAKER - CHLOE CARR: Kit and Myla’s story was extremely angsty and incredibly emotional. There were times where I wanted to cry for them both, but I’m actually really glad they were able to work things out. The ending was beautiful, as well.
If you love hockey romances, then ON THE LINE is an anthology that cannot be missed. 🏒Shot At Love by Kat Mizera🏒
Maria and Adam are a mature aged couple in their 50s who have a second chance at love. Although they had lived completely different lives, Maria and Adam had found a new chance at happiness. Maria's family is against her remarrying, so Las Vegas called. This was a fun, sweet story that dealt with second chances, family challenges, and newfound love.
🏒Poke Check🏒
Team Captain Austing is due to graduate, if only he wasn't struggling with Math. Enter Rowan, the tutor who turns his world upside down. Talk about an insta-connection, but then Austin learns that Rowan is the girlfriend of his worst enemy. These two had an undeniable chemistry, heaps of tension, and then there's the whipped cream and raspberries instant that brings on some wonderful steam. A quick, fun falling for your rival's girl read.
🏒Snowed by Elise Faber🏒
A strangers to lovers, instalove romance, Leo and Jolie's story was sweet, humourous, and thoroughly enjoyable. Jolie had her heart and trust shattered and Leo just happened to be in the right place at the right time. I adored Leo and his grumpy, possessive ways, and Jolie was just the person to put him in his place. A wonderful story and a total page turner.
All the stories in this anthology were fantastic reads. I caught up with some favourite authors and was introduced to several new ones. If you love hockey romances, then grab ON THE LINE while it is available.

Anthologies are one of my favorite things to read, and a hockey anthology filled with awesome authors that I love and new ones to try out. Sign me UP!!! First, I loved that Kat Mizera gifted us with an older couple that was ready for a second chance at love after loss. Readers were already familiar with Maria and Adam, and I appreciated so many things about their story! There were so many great moments in this little snippet into their lives, but I don’t want to ruin, just do yourself a favor and read it! I promise you will not be disappointed. Another favorite author of mine in the anthology was GIna Azzi where she gifted readers with Hudson and Piper as well as a little intro into what is next for her! I am a total sucker for friends to lovers, and this one was perfect! Hudson and Page were besties through high school and lost touch through college, now both home for the holidays and sparks fly! So many sparks! And adorable uncle antics….I promise you will love Hudson and Piper as much as I did! To say I devoured Snowed by Elise Faber is an understatement, and I quickly pre-ordered the next book she teased us with in this little short! Jolie and Leo had an unexpected meeting, and Leo was swoon worthy! I loved how he just put himself out there and was immediately drawn to hard working Jolie! Jolie was just plain delightful….and I adored her! These two might have started off as an unlikely pair, but it quickly became apparent that they were made for one another! To say I loved this anthology would be a huge understatement ... .I loved these; the stories were just long enough to enjoy one each night before I climbed into bed for the night, as well as introduced me to new authors! I added so many books to my kindle after reading this anthology and I am not at all sorry!
On the Line is a marvelous collection of short hockey holiday stories from twelve of the best sports romance authors in the industry! I’ve included reviews of two of my favorite stories, but I’ll be adding more soon! If you’re a hockey romance lover, I highly recommend you snag this limited edition holiday anthology.
Poke Check by Lasairiona McMaster ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Poke Check was marvelous!! I loved August & Rowan so much!! Lasairiona packed a fully-developed, whirlwind love story with compelling characters into only forty-two pages. August grabbed me right away; my heart went out to him on page 1 and I couldn’t stop reading. He’s a college hockey star on the verge of graduation chasing his NHL dreams. When he meets the brainy, real-bodied, confident Rowan he falls HARD! I loved this he-falls-first, burn the world, opposites-attract romance. It’s a perfect balance of quippy banter, heartfelt grit, and super hot spice. I’m still all in my feels about this sweet and sassy couple!
The Trade Up by Julia Connors ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Oh my goodness, I am smitten with Zach, Ashleigh, and the entire Boston Rebels team! I loved this prequel to Julia Connors’ brand new hockey series! Zach is a nerdy, cinnamon roll hockey player. Ashleigh is a prospective PhD candidate helping out at her uncle’s diner. When the team grabs some late night dinner, sparks fly the second Ashleigh and Zach meet. Their nerdy instant connection, the romantic sightseeing, the steamy AF one-night-stand all made this love story a must-read for any hockey romance fan. I cannot wait for more of this new team!
*ON THE LINE will donate all proceeds to After Action, a 501(c)3 non-profit that seeks to increase economic outcomes after trauma recovery.
Shot at Love by Kat Mizera This was about 56 year old Maria Conchetta Calavope Cicero going to Vegas to elope. The man she was marrying, Adam, had lived a life completely different than hers, but they had found love with each other. It wasn’t easy though, because Maria’s children weren’t on board with her getting married.
It was interesting to see how Maria navigated getting married again at an older age when she was already a grandma. This was a great little story about finding love again and dealing with the antics of adult children.
Poke Check by Lasairiona McMaster August, the team captain, is struggling in math, so he needs a tutor. Rowan, who he believes is his enemy’s girlfriend, becomes his tutor.
There was tension between them, but so much chemistry. And let’s just say whipped cream and raspberries are included.
The Trade Up by Julia Connors This was a cute story between Zach and Ashleigh. They flirted and became friends, and they formed a real connection. This was a little Christmas novella, and I enjoyed it.
Always My Girl by Jennifer Sucevic Viola and Madden had been high school sweethearts, but they broke up. Now they’re in college together, and Madden wants a second chance.
I was a little mad at Madden, and I didn’t want Viola to give him a second chance. But he worked hard to earn another chance. And there was no denying that they both still loved each other.
Overall This is a great collection of hockey romance novellas. Some of these stories were by new-to-me authors, so I will be checking out their other books.
On The Line is a collection of hockey novella that gives us a hat trick. This anthology delivers riveting, steamy and addictive hockey stories that are a must-read.
Poke Check - Lasairiona McMaster Hockey player meets tutor and boy do are they opposites. August is a college hockey player who needs a tutor for math. In walks Rowan and throws his life in a tizzie. Thinking that she is with his biggest enemies their friendly connection changes quickly. The next thing there is whipped cream and raspberries which leads to a steamy connection.
My Favorite Christmas Present - Gina Azzi A terrific friends-to-lovers romance that will have you swooning over Hudson and wanting to tell Piper to give him a chance even though he broke her heart years ago. Friends and neighbours Hudson and Piper have a connection but when Piper makes a move and Hudson turns her down, she decides to protect her heart. Years later at Christmas, both families get together but Piper is cold and Hudson is determined to take a shot. He is hoping that he can score and win her heart. Will he hit the net or the post?
Snowed - Elise Faber This strangers-to-lovers romance sees a hunk hockey player turning into a knight in shining armour. Jolie has her heart shattered by the two people that she trusts and loves the most and it is Leo, the hot hockey player that is there to save her. There is an instant attraction that has Jolie letting him into her heart. These two gave me laughs but also had me cheering for Leo right from the start.
This is an amazing anthology which consist of stories from 12 talented authors, about love found on and off the ice.
Shot At Love by Kat Mizera This is a gem of a story about Adam and Maria, who are a couple in their 50’s who have lost spouses and are finding love again. Maria is a widow whose one son is not happy about her finding love again, and she and Adam elope to Vegas to get married. This is a well written story which has challenges, family, friendships, emotions, second chances, romance, and love, which leads to a sweet and compelling page turner.
Holiday Hat Trick by Jamie Davenport This is Brogan and Teddy’s story. Brogan gas been called up to play hockey for the Seattle Sockeyes, and he is busy settling into his new home. His ex-girlfriend is not happy with him, and she steals his dog from the boarding kennels and dumps him on Teddy’s driveway, and she is far from happy about this. Brogan finds himself in the position of having to prove himself to Teddy that Wrigley is his dog, but does she believe him? This is a well written story which has humor, emotions, romance, and love, which leads to an entertaining and delightful page turner.
Snowed by Elise Faber This is Leo and Jolie’s story. Jolie has been left broken when the two people she loved and trusted shatter her heart. Leo is a new hockey player in the team, and he comes to her rescue and is there when she needs him. This is a well written story which has instant attraction, humor, witty banter, emotions, trust, romance, and love, which leads to an entertaining and poignant page turner.
If you love Hockey Romance look no further than On The Line Anthology. This is made up of twelve short stories from twelve authors who know hockey inside out. There is something for everyone from second chances, friends to lovers and brothers teammate romances.
Shot at Love by Kat Mizera If you love second chance love stories look no further than Adam Elliott and Maria Cicero’s quick read in Shot at Love ( Lauderdale Knights Series Bonus Novella). I love my visits to Fort Lauderdale but this read was extra special because it’s features an older couple. Adam and Maria have found a second chance at love when they least expected it. Maria never thought she would find love again after losing her husband at an early age but her daughter’s father in law seems to hit all the right spots. Problem is the rest of the family don’t agree so will a quick trip to Vegas solves the issues and will their families finally accept they belong together.
Snowed by Elise Faber Snowed may be a quick read but it’s still packs a mighty punch and we get the perfect intro to the Sierra Hockey Team. This is hockey player Leo West and Jolie’s friends to lovers story. Jolie is having a terrible time, she has lost her best friend, her boyfriend and broke a bone in her hand all in one night but lucky for her Leo is there to recuse her. What follows is strangers forming a bond and a friendship. So that leaves us all waiting to see what Ms Faber has in store for this couple. I loved everything about this novella, I smiled, I swooned and at times I screamed at my kindle.
There are twelve various authors that have written short stories for this anthology. The proceeds will be donated to After Action, a non-profit that seeks to increase economic outcomes after trauma recovery.

Shot At Love by Kat Mizera ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I absolutely loved Maria and Adam's story! They are two widowers who are getting a second chance at love. This story is sweet and beautifully written.
Holiday Hat Trick by Jami Davenport
Poke Check by Lasairiona McMaster
My favorite Christmas Present by Gina Azzi
Christmas with Conner by Victoria Demault
Deal Breaker by Cathryn Fox ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was a super cute and sweet romance. Rhys and Leeza have really great chemistry. Their romance starts under false pretenses but these two quickly fall in love.
Snowed by Elise Faber ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Leo and Jolie are adorable! Their insta-love romance is sweet and fun. I love how Leo was there to support her and how possessive he was. Jolie was great, I loved her confidence. This is the start to an amazing story and I can't wait for more from these two.
I've started a few times to write the review for this Anthology, because i just couldn't decide if i want to do novella by novella or do it as a whole...decisions decisions...And this is what i came up with :)
As a huge hockey romance fan, most of the stories put a smile on my face. And when i say most is due to some of them i have to wait for a bit for them to be published as a full length novel and anyone who knows me knows i not very patient ;P
But the ones that did have HEA were all funny, sizzling a few made me cry a tear or two and I'm happy that i got a chance to get a glimpse for a few authors that i wanted to try out but never did so far. From cute "later in life" romance, reverse age gap (hello Connor; 5th novella) to surviving the most terrible thing and coming out stronger on the other end, all of this story will leave you either breathless or smiling a very wide smile. And if you're not sure about hockey romance this anthology is definitely for you.

I read two stories in this anthology and I loved them both!
First up was My Favorite Christmas Present by Gina Azzi. I’ve read all of Gina’s books and I love them all! This short story definitely left me wanting more! It’s a second chance story about childhood best friends Piper and Hudson who see each other again after 3 years. They parted on not great terms but when they reunite luckily Hudson lets his true feelings show. It’s amazing how I can get attached to characters in such a short amount of time. I attribute that to great writing and amazing character development!
Next up was Always My Girl by Jennifer Sucevic. I haven’t read any of her books and this one led me to put a whole bunch on my TBR list! Viola and Madden are a second chance story about a couple who were dating and broke up due to bad timing and poor communication. When they see each other a few years later the sparks are still there and they find out if either of them were able to move on from the other.
I’m excited to read the rest of these stories! ~Alexis💜
An anthology filled with hockey romances? My kind of book! I haven’t read all of them yet, but I love those that I did read.
My Favorite Christmas by Gina Azzi
This one is about two best friends who finally find their true love together. Piper and Hudson have always been best friends, but when she wanted more right before graduation, Hudson had to focus on his future and hurt his best friend at the same time. Now, years later, their time has come. And what better time to come together than Christmas.
The Trade Up by Julia Connors
Zach isn’t a player, but he feels an instant connection when he meets Ashleigh. And when fate is on Ashleigh’s side, soon they will be in the same city and they can explore this attraction.
All of these short stories are fun and steamy and definitely worth reading.
Love hockey romance stories? I know I do and this anthology is full of hot men and the women who fall victim to their charms. First love, second chance romance, all the feelings and moments wrapped up in quick novellas. No matter how you like your romance this anthology has it all.
Deal Breaker - Cathryn Fox In Cathryn Fox's Scotia Storms series, Rhys "Cheddar" Taylor and Leeza pretending to be Lisa on a dating app fall into a quick romance over the holiday season. It's sweet with a bite of steam and catfishing with a great twist.
Always My Girl- Jennifer Sucevic I was feeling all kinds of nostalgia reading this short hockey story. Madden and Viola take a second chance on their relationship in this holiday romance.
This review is based only on the story, Shot at Love by Kat Mizera.
This one was so sweet as it opened. Maria and Adam were giddy in what they were doing, it was sweet to see with all they had been through in their lives and now getting a second chance at love. Everything was good, until Maria's grown son showed up complaining like the whiney cry baby 36 year old man-baby he is, which then caused issues with Maria. Now they don't say that the man-baby is why what happened, but in my mind it is 100% the cause.
From there Adam was berated by everyone, which caused him to doubt everything and run away. It's a good thing that Maria was on to him and let him know what was going to happen. These 2 deserve all the happiness that comes their way!

Sometimes the issue with anthologies is that I find is that I only enjoy a couple of the stories. Yet, with this anthology that was not the issue. I enjoyed the majority of them stories in this one. Of course, my favorite authors did not disappoint with their contributions...Lasairiona McMaster, Victoria Denault, and Sierra Hill.
The other authors I have heard their names or are new to me and it was great to be introduced to their worlds from their various series or new series. I was intrigued enough to read out full length books from these authors. A nice variety of stories for all types of readers.
I love getting my hockey read on! The number and quality of authors included in this anthology kept my heart happy as I read some favourites and was introduced to some new authors. I know that some of these fabulous hockey shorts will be turned into full-length books, and I am here for that! Bring on the heat. I automatically read the authors I knew and then went back to meet the ones I had never heard of before. I know I will be busy into the off-season reading to my heart's content. If you are looking for a taste of some great hockey action, pick this anthology up, and don't worry about a referee blowing his whistle to stop you from enjoying the love off the ice.
A great hockey story collection! Some were short novellas and others were the starts to what I expect will be pretty great books. 12 stories that range from all kind of tropes. A lot were second chance romances and some were the beginnings of something new. This was a great range of authors and were all definitely different stories. If you are looking for a romance hockey story, I definitely recommend checking this out and these authors to see what else they have. I have read books from several of these authors, and there is a high chance of me checking out some of these series that had connected to the stories in this anthology.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I am a huge fan of hockey romances and several of my go to authors contributed to this anthology. 𝗢𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗘 was filled with sweet and sexy, read in about an hour romances that made my lunch breaks a treat! I enjoyed reading one story at a time and was left satisfied after each one. I can’t recommend this book enough. I’m giving 𝗢𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗘 the judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval, TBR and Enjoy!
P.S. I’m giving a special shoutout to Kat Mizera’s Shot at Love because I’m a sucker for a mature couple getting their happily ever after.
I can't pick a favourite as this anthology is a fabulous collection and I definitely recommend it. I'd already read 7 of the 12 authors and it's a charity anthology so that was enough for me to pre-order it, but when reading my ARC I loved so many contributions to this! It's also introduced me to some new authors I'm keen to check out. The stories are either prequels to other books or complete as they are. If you enjoy hockey romance then check this out, you'll probably end up adding a few more authors to your TBR if you don't already know all the authors.
All of these authors are brilliant, usually on sn anthology like this you get one if not two riding on the coat tails. Not here. All of them should be must reads for sports romance fans.
The only downside is that they really are short short stories not the kind of novella approach. But if you've not read books by all these authors then grab this and find a new favourite. I think the last match making one was my fave kit and Myla. But there wasn't a bad story, I just prefer the stories to be longer so I have time to see the attraction build.
I just ADORE Lasairiona's writing. Every time I read one of her novellas all I can think is I need more! Rumor has it that she is turning this into a full-length novel in the near future and I cannot wait for it. This story shows how Rowan and August meet and how their relationship begins. I cannot wait for Lasairiona to write the rest of their story.
While I picked up this hockey anthology for Gina Azzi, as I’m a new fan of her writing, I enjoyed all the stories to some degree. On the Line has a little bit of something for everyone that appreciates a handsome hockey player knee deep in a good story. From long lost love, friends to lovers and my least favorite, insta-love, these authors packed a big punch in a few pages.
First up was Shot at Love by Kat Mizera -A sweet and steamy romance between two 50somethings. It was refreshing to read about two people finding love after the loss of their spouses. The steam was steamy and the drama was plenty. A great story.
Holiday Hat Trick by Jami Davenport -Super cute read! Love a holiday read with some insta-love sprinkled in. And who can resist Wrigley?!
Poke Check by Lasiriona McMaster -HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT
I loved all the stories that I read. Love a good hockey book, but novellas hit different in the best way. Julia, Gina and Sierra are some of my favorite authors so I loved being able to read these extras from them! If you’re in the market for short novella with some great stories and spice, this is for you!
