Rowena is a wonderful storyteller.
Besides the fact that all the places where the action happens are real and known by the author, the fact that makes these stories so much more reliable is that the main characters are usually very strong and capable women.
It's a pleasure to read about skilled characters who have a purpose in their lives and create a new meaning for romantic adventure.
Tam and Bowie's story is beautiful and exotic but it's not only theirs.
This story is surprisingly moving and emotional but a great conclusion to the whole series as well.

Love this series. Glad I got to read the youngest brothers book. Unfortunately I was in druing the Vietnam Conflict, and heard all the stories about Ameraisian babies and how bad that conflict was. Glad Lan and her daughter got to the US, but sorry Skully went back and got captured only to let to believe his love had died. Hope another book comes out about this family.

Enjoyed all three of the books. Sometimes the flashbacks confused me for a few seconds. Author did a lot of research but knew a lot from own experiences in the service. I recommend this book and also the first two.

This story was a little boring and I didn't really feel the connection between the H and h because I dislike it when there this like this instant connection.

Also, the jump in time lines was rather confusing and I found the story involving the older couple more interesting.

I have been on a emotional roller coaster for the last 2 days! I was crying 😢 and mad 😡 and hurting 😟 for the characters. Bowie, Tam, Lan and Skully each stole a piece of my heart and I'm feeling sad 😞 saying goodbye. (That is how you feel after you read a GREAT book).

Snippet Review:
I’m not going to lie, this is probably my favorite romance novel of all time. It’s cheesy and predictable, but I can still remember reading it for the first time. I bought it at a library book sale for 25¢ when I was about 16 years old and sped through it all on a sick day home from school. The author does a good job with the military details, probably because she was in the military herself. The romance is sweet, even if it’s does get a little cheesy and the action is tense, though it does get a bit over-the-top. This is not one of the best romance novel that I’ve ever read, but there’s just something unique about it that definitely makes it one of my favorite.

This was probably my most favorite of the three book series but the ending reminded me of watching an Asian drama because it was so rushed and there were some things I really wished had been written to lift the readers spirits even more: more family reunion time.

Of the three books in this series, I liked this one the least. Bowie seemed a little too perfect, and Tam's constant refusal to Bowie got old.
It could have been a good story, but several things killed it for me: in several places it was hard to follow what was happening or who was talking; I believe the names of the characters talking were mixed up as the wrong name was cited; there were sentence fragments and other grammatical errors;
I spotted some contradictory information ; there were any number of tyos and phrases that did not make sense. This book obviously had not been edited, and it was sorely in need of it!!!
As much as I enjoyed the first two books in the series, I am sorry that I bought this one.
