Just like every previous R.H. Johnson novel that I have read, it only took one chapter to activate my interest in "A Sound At The Window." Mr. Johnson has an uncanny way of drawing the reader in to wanting more. The pace of this novel kept me turning pages to find out what happens next. I thought I knew who the killer was early on. But, Mr. Johnson, with his writing talent, kept me in suspense right to the end. I look forward to reading your next novel.

Unless you are good at football, and/or like to drink to excess, stay away from this Maine town. Author Johnson spins a delightfully nasty and tense yarn which will have you wondering until the last page if everyone in the story has a secret they want hidden. It is one of those books where you are sure you know who the culprit is, until you turn the page. A highly enjoyable and recommended read.

Another page turner from RH Johnson

Realistic characters, situations and dialogues makes you forget this is a work of fiction. You can equate many of these individuals to actual people you have known in your own life. While reading this book alone at night you may want to be sure the curtains or blinds are all closed.

I enjoyed the plot line of this book and the pov of the abductor/killer. I definitely had some points where I couldn’t tell who was this person, and there were many points where I truly questioned “did they do it?”. So it kept me on my toes in this way! I do feel that the ending was a bit rushed and would have liked to have read more about the actual climax (in my opinion) that happened at the end.
