Robert R. Davis is a Christian author, teacher and minister.

Robert is a native of New Haven, Connecticut.
He has always had a deep desire to understand the mysteries of life and questioned the reasons behind the things of life. This trait did not always go over well in his youth, but as an adult it increased his understanding greatly, especially in the realm of studying the bible.

Writing became a natural offshoot of his teaching and speaking. Robert wrote his first book in 2002 called The Final Message: Understanding the book of Revelation. It was challenging enough to write his first book, but to tackle a subject as difficult of Revelation was intimidating, to say the least.

Robert has a deep passion to understanding the meaning behind the commands and precepts of the bible. His search for truth continues to shape his life, as he pursues God. He wants his writing to be a vehicle to start your own journey for the truth.

In the Beginning is about the book of Genesis in the bible, offering deeper meanings beyond the symbolism and text of biblical passages, diving into its deeper meanings. As a life-long Christian now in my late 8th decade, I grew up reading those creation stories without having challenged what I read or given them any deeper reflection. I accepted the offer of reading this book with the idea it would be interesting to see how the author would suggest answers to a long list of basic questions that many of us have seen or thought about, but never really gave much attention to answering for ourselves. In the Beginning seemed to offer answers and much more, so with curiosity I ventured into places I had never gone before and found thought provoking insights that gave new meaning to passages I was all too familiar with, to open my mind (and heart) to fresh insights. I am not qualified to offer judgement on the author’s interpretations, but will comment on the reading at what seems like a too simple level given the easy-to-read writing of his many challenging ideas.

The author offers a unique presentation format, first reading the story of creation in its Genesis passages in a normal narrative form followed in the next chapter reading the same as a courtroom proceeding. While reading both was suggested as being optional, I found reading both to be very interesting. His seven chapters (162 pages) take us beyond Creation, into the Fall of Mankind, the Serpent Revisited and finally, Out of Eden. Those are supported with five pages of detailed references, along with his integration of each biblical passage directly into the book’s text, not just links that would have the reader look them up in the bible, making for easy reading and much opportunity to dig deeper with the many references.

Whether you believe his ‘truths’ or not, your own faith will be deepened in reflecting on these well-known passages in insightful new ways.
