Cataloochee Coffee Shop Romances #2

He's So Not My Valentine

Rate this book
Valentine’s Day should be outlawed.

Here are a few fun facts about me:
1. I do not love Valentine’s Day.
2. I love coffee.
3. I’ve never left the state of North Carolina.

I’m not complaining. I grew up in the quaint town of Harvest Hollow, met my charming husband, and had our amazing son here … That was before my “charming” ex-husband decided he needed to expand his horizons.

Since that time, I’ve been raising Nate alone, with the support of my family, and running Cataloochee Coffee like it’s my own business.

I’m not looking for romance--especially not at this time of year when everyone couples up in the name of a dead saint who happens to be the patron of lovers, epileptics and beekeepers.

When Rene Dubois comes from France to visit my sister and her husband, I obviously keep my distance. I don’t need his kisses to my cheeks, his flirty banter, or the way his bright green eyes make me feel flutters in my belly and tingles across my skin. I don’t do flutters or tingles.

My sister keeps assuring me Rene is amazing and harmless. But she’s the dreamer in the family. Rene may be gorgeous, have a buttery French accent, and a charismatic personality. All I know is He’s so not my Valentine.

He's So Not My Valentine is the stand-alone sequel to A Not So Fictional Fall. This closed-door romcom is set in the fictional town of Harvest Hollow (made popular in the Sweater Weather series). Be warned: you will laugh, swoon, and probably fall for a Frenchman.

You know, for a long time, I've thought my favorite tropes are enemies to lovers, brother's best friend, friends to lovers, etc. And those are all great, and I do love them. But oh! The books where the female main character is SEEN-THOSE books take my breath away.

I love that Rene and Heather are kind of enemies (she considers him one, though he doesn't see it that way), and the fact that Rene is Heather's brother-in-law's best friend is wonderful, but I absolutely adore the way Rene sees Heather like no one else ever has. The way he wants to take care of her. The way he pulls her out of her head.

And it isn't every author who can portray children well in their books, but Savannah Scott does it wonderfully and realistically. That isn't really the main point of this review, but it's definitely worth noting! And when that 8 year old teaches the French Rene to say "Slay, bae!", it is hilarious!

The feelings this book evoked in me. At one point, I was so melancholy that I was almost in tears. Heck, there were a few points in which I nearly cried. But that's what Savannah Scott's books do: they draw you in and immerse you in that fictional world. I can't recommend this book-ALL of her books-enough.

Clean Fiction - Romcom

DNF at 22%/50 pages in.

I tried getting into this one, but am DNF it. It was half I’m-just-not-in-the-mood-for-this-genre and half I-really-don’t-want-to-deal-with-all-the-content-that-comes-with-a-romcom (including starting off with hints of sexual activity with a neighbor having a guy over late at night. Ugh.). The writing style was info-dumpy at the beginning and noticeably so, but it introduced you to the characters and their backstories quickly, I suppose.

Broad Content notes from what I read:
Rene's female neighbor obviously has a man over late at night and he hears parts of their conversation (implied sexual); Rene has been with many girls over his life, has always liked attention from women, and plays up the stereotype of being a French flirt; Heather's 8yo son talks about see a 17yo guy kissing his girlfriend in a uncomfortable amount of details/actions (he thinks it's gross, but will probably like it when he is seventeen).

Need the perfect Valentine’s Day read? The perfect “when you know, you know” story? The swooniest MMC? The strongest FMC? The sweetest, most loving family?

Look no further than “He’s So Not My Valentine”! You’ll get all that AND more wrapped in a cute little package.

I loved being back in Harvest Hollow! The town just feels a little bit like home. And watching as Heather & Rene got their HEA — together no less, was heartwarming!

I loved Rene and his amazing ability to show Heather her worth! She was more than a good worker and a great mother. She was a woman, who was deserving of love & attention!

And seeing Heather learn that, and come to realize that Rene was more than just a flirt was so sweet!

Such a sweet read! With tugs & pulls on your heartstrings. Great for this love season!

He’s So Not My Valentine by Savannah Scott
Sweater Weather series following A Not So Fictional Fall. Contemporary, closed door romance. Can be read as a stand-alone but the couple from Fictional Fall play prominently in this book.
Heather is the manager of a local coffee shop in Harvest Hollow. Heather’s sister and her French husband also live in the small town. Rene Dubois, a friend of her sister’s new husband, travels from France on holiday to Harvest Hollow and ends up spending quite a bit of time in the coffee shop. He gets to know Heather and her son Nate, more than expected. And while Valentine’s Day isn’t celebrated the same in France, Rene decides to treat Heather to a special night out.

🎧 I listened to an audiobook with dual narration by Amanda Friday and Tyler Hyrchuk. The performance is well done with conversations between the characters woven together almost seamlessly. The occasional volume change from a switch isn’t going to be noticeable by the average reader. Tyler’s character is from France, so his accent follows. The child voice he emotes isn’t great, but it’s good enough that you get the idea of age, over and above the text.
I think both did a good job but I personally didn’t care for the french accent. It sounded fake to me but maybe that’s just my untrained ear.
I started at 1.2 and once I was used to the tempo was soon up to my preferred of 1.5.

Heather and Rene are not a “love at first sight” couple. They grow to respect first and appreciate before allowing their feelings to grow. I think the red dress tipped him over an edge. I thought Rene was naive in his “I won’t take her heart” attitude. You don't get to choose for someone else. Fortunately his best friend steps in when needed.
Suave and debonair story aim.

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher.

I love it when I’m reading a book and I highlight half of it because it’s just so good. So much wit, so many quotable quotes, fantastic characters and the swoon! 😍 Scott rocks the book world with this romcom gem. And it was pure magic to be back in Harvest Hollow once again.

“He’s got whatever the French word for danger is written all over him.”

When the ultimate charming Frenchman, Rene, visits his best friend and new wife, he finds himself as smitten as a kitten by the wife’s sister, Heather. I couldn’t get enough of this unlikely combo and their flirty banter and connection. I love a single mom trope with a spunky kid and Nate was so great! These characters are everything and I loved watching everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, unfold.

The charm and romance will melt any Valentine’s hater’s heart. There’s soooo much to love with this story and it hit the spot smack dab in the center of my romance loving heart.

Content: mild romance (kissing)

This is a kisses only romcom from Savannah Scott that can be read as a standalone story but is enjoyed more if you read A Not So Fictional Fall first. Both of these characters play major parts in that book. And the characters from that book are highlighted here too.

Rene is a Frenchman whose friend, Pierre, has moved from France to the US in A Not So Fictional Fall. Heather is Tasha's sister from that same book.

The narration of this audiobook well done, especially by the male voice actor. He does accents very well and has a different one for both French men!

The female narrator is fine, especially if this is the first book you hear her read. She has a cadence that I find becomes a bit irritating the more books I hear her read. Every character sounds the same.

Overall this is a pleasant and enjoyable book to read or listen to.

I was given an opportunity to read the ebook and to listen to the audio by the author prior to release, but am voluntarily leaving an honest opinion.

After reading A Not So Fictional Fall, I was dying to get Rene’s and Heather’s story! Bring on all the hot Frenchmen! Rene is one of those swoony characters who when I read his dialogue, his voice in my head sounded like smooth butter, if that makes sense. He’s all that is charming, self assured, romantic, and thoughtful and I loved him! This second chance, he falls first love story was just perfection, especially for dreary January. It made me so excited for Valentine’s Day even though both characters have an aversion to the holiday.

Heather is a divorced mother with a darling eight year old son Nate who spends her days working hard as the manager of Cataloochee Coffee. She’s kinda given up on having a romantic relationship and doesn’t see herself as attractive or worthy of love. When Rene visits from France, she begins to see herself in a new light, as the handsome Frenchman weaves his way into her heart. But, what happens when he has to go back to France?

I absolutely loved this story! There were so many sweet, tender moments where Rene, who has no trouble flirting, authentically shows Heather how beautiful she really is. I loved the way he helped her at the Coffee house while he’s supposed to be on vacation. His interactions with Nate were darling and I loved Nate teaching Rene new American slang. I loved the funny humor, and those poignant moments that just made me want so badly for these two to find a way to be together.

It’s a heartwarming, sweet, closed door romance, with characters who are a little more mature (in their 30’s) which I loved, with plenty of humor and funny, relatable moments. Savannah Scott’s really got something going with these adorable Frenchmen and I’m hoping she has more hidden away somewhere in her repertoire.

He’s So Not My Valentine can be read as a standalone, but it’s so fun to read Rene’s & Heather’s backstory in A Not So Fictional Fall, and you’ll fall in love with Pierre and Tasha who are featured quite a bit in this book. I received an advanced complimentary copy from the author, but also purchased in Kindle Unlimited. All opinions are my own and voluntarily provided.

'I'll admit the initial rush of new love brings all sorts of heady feelings and pie-in-the-sky thoughts. That stage is only infatuation, really. It boils down to a chemical response, triggered by pheromones and other stimuli. Eventually, that euphoria wear off. And what are you left with? Reality.'

Oh Heather, Heather, Heather.

She is jaded.
She's a single parent
Hard worker and
Doesn't need a man to complicate her life.

Enter Rene.

Rene is a charismatic.
Rene is flirtatious and
Rene is a Frenchman through and through. Romance is his life lol.

This is a fabulous book of giving love a second chance, putting it all on the line for a chance at love and seeing that the messiness of love life is actually what makes allows you to see the beauty of love in life.

Two thumbs up, 5 stars, all of the good things for this book. It's fantastic and I highly recommend it!

My love for Savannah Scotts books just seems to continually increase with every word I read. This book was pure sugar and I literally felt like I was watching a beautiful movie while reading the book.

Rene is the cutest frenchman you will ever meet on paper. Not only is he described as being incredibly handsome, but he is also incredibly direct with his approach and his words. If he wants to tell a certain someone they are beautiful, well he tells her, in many different ways. Oh la la. Over the top? Yes. But it totally worked.

Heather doesn’t remember what she has to offer anymore to men. She doesn’t believe she is sexy, or that she has any game or that she is even interesting. All she has is an i tense focus for work at Cataloochee and care for her adorable and hilarious son Nate.

In a nutshell (and because I don’t want to spoil anything) Heather doesn’t trust men, and Rene isn’t looking for love. But sometimes we don’t have control over our hearts, and love ends up finding its way.

Love Love Loved this wonderful book!

Favorite parts:
-Nate (He cracks me up!)
-Rene helping at Catty Coffee
-Hannah - what a great friend!
-Dinner with Pierre and Tasha
-First date
-Rene telling Heather how beautiful she is in French

This was such a fun, sweet Valentine's story!

I love how good of a mother Heather is to her son. Even though she is no longer married she has raised her son well with the support and love of her parents and sister.

Because of her experience, Heather has decided that she does not need a man in her life. She no longer believes in love and lives her life for her son.

Enter Rene. He is just fine being a bachelor, but he believes that Heather needs to feel valued again and takes it upon himself to show her that she is more than just a mom and businesswoman.

I love how Rene does all he can to help Heather see her worth. And I love how he is able to break down the walls Heather has built around her heart.

This is such a wonderful story of love, devotion, family, and learning to trust again.

Thanks to the author for the advanced copy. All opinions are my own.

I was so excited to return to Harvest Hollow! We met Heather and Rene in A Not So Fictional Fall and I’ve been dying for their story. I was so blessed to receive an ARC of this and it did not disappoint.

THINGS I LOVED
•Rene: Okay I honestly wasn’t sure if I would love Rene. Some ladies swoon over the Frenchmen but not me. I don’t not swoon; it’s just the main character being French doesn’t automatically win me over. But I loved Rene. Rene seems like your typical flirty playboy but he had so much sincerity and care behind his charm. I loved how his intentions with Heather were simply to show her that she was worthy of love and a man who would shower her with that, even if that man wasn’t him. He completely won me over.
•Heather: I love a strong fierce single mom and that’s Heather. Heather was burned by her first husband and has sworn off men. I feel like a lot of times these characters can also come across as rude and dismissive of all men, but I didn’t find that with Heather. Yeah she tried to ignore Rene’s initial advances but I didn’t feel like she treated Rene poorly. She was such a good mom and I loved watching her allow her walls to crumble with Rene.

This is such a fun read and it’s perfect for Valentine’s Day. It was also fun getting to see Tasha and Pierre again. Savannah Scott writes such wonderful books and I thoroughly enjoyed this one.

This is a closed door romance with minimal innuendo and no language.

“His face is soft and kind, and his eyes say, in another lifetime we’d make something beautiful together”

This book is set in Harvest Hollow, NC and is the standalone sequel to A Not So Fictional Fall which is part of the sweater weather series. While it’s not necessary to read ANSFF I do recommend it because you do get Rene & Heathers back story & you also get Tasha & Pierre’s story.

I loved being back in Harvest Hollow and could not wait to read this book.

This book is filled with lots of tension & of course a lot of banter (when does a Savannah Scott book not have banter) there were several moments I couldn’t stop giggling and kicking my feet lol

If you like Frenchmen & want to read about a single mom falling for one then this is the book for you!

"He knows how to look a woman in the eyes with a piercing glance that could make her weak in the knees. Not me, obviously. My knees are fortified and in no danger from men like him."

"She's staring at me with barely-veiled intensity. It's like she's daring me to win her over. Not that I'm trying to win anyone. I'm only here in the states for three weeks. But I am a man who loves a challenge."

I loved the Sweater Weather series, and really enjoyed Savannah Scott's contribution A Not So Fictional Fall. While reading (and loving) it, I remember wishing that Heather and Rene could have their own story - and Savannah delivered!

This was such a delight and a surprise. I expected a ton of banter and tension - which I got with plenty of laugh-out-loud moments. What I didn't expect was how incredibly tender this would be. I absolutely loved the way Rene set out to first be her friend, and then to show Heather that she is both desirable and worthy of love, even if it's not (initially) with him. It was so sweet, mature and moving! As well as positively swoony...

Unpopular opinion alert 🚨 I didn’t realize this was a sequel to A Not So Fictional Fall, which was alright, but definitely not my favorite Savannah Scott book. So I wasn’t exactly thrilled to continue the series. Part of my dislike might come from the “French” narrator, (my dad speaks French and this narrator’s heavy accent bothers me). Anyway, after the uncomfortable start of hearing Rene’s neighbor making love through the thin walls, I was out. I don’t particularly fancy books that make me uncomfortable in that way, so it’s a DNF for me.

For those of you who loved A Not So Fictional Fall (which did have a great kiss scene I will admit), you might really like this!

Content: Beginning scene of Rene hearing sounds/exclamations from his neighbor that imply love making; Rene is a bit of a voyeur and it’s implied he’s had multiple sexual partners over the years, but I believe it’s a kissing only story

He's So Not My Valentine is a sequel to A Not So Fictional Fall and takes place in the same town as the Sweater Weather series. While Heather and Rene are both introduced in that previous book (and we see quite a bit from Pierre and Tasha in this one), this could certainly be enjoyed as a standalone as well.

From the moment Rene was introduced in the previous book, he became an immediate favorite for me. He was charming and funny... and I couldn't help but wish (and ask the author) for him to get his own happily ever after. I wasn't the only one. She listened and delivered... exceeding every expectation I had for his story! He was charming and funny, yes... but also so incredibly sweet! I couldn't NOT adore the interactions between these two and root for them. Heather has been through a lot and is set on not falling in love, but I love the tenderness with which Rene helps her to break down those walls. Seriously, it's just the sweetest ever and I enjoyed every minute. I feel like every time I read a Savannah Scott book I find myself saying it's a new favorite... and that's not going to change just yet! Rene and Heather were just the best and I cannot imagine topping them. You absolutely don't want to miss this one!

He's So Not My Valentine is a closed-door romance with kisses only and no language.

Oh, sweet croissants with chocolate drizzle on top!! This book was everything romantic and French wrapped in one sweet package! Savannah knows how much I love this book, being that our FMC has my name! It felt like it was wrote just for me! 😂

I couldn’t wait for Rene’s story after getting a glimpse of him in A Not So Fictional Fall. Rene wasn’t looking for love, he just wanted a quick visit to see his best friend in the states. Heather hated Valentine’s Day due to being hurt by her ex and left to raise their son on her own. When Rene can’t help but be drawn to Heather for reasons he can’t explain, can he change Heather’s view on Valentine’s Day and finding love again?

Oh these two! Rene was dreamy! He was caring, patient, charming, funny, and oh so handsome! I loved how he took things slowly with Heather and showed her how that even though she’s a mom, she’s attractive in more ways than one. He made her feel like a woman again. He loved her for her and who she was a person.

I adored Heather. She was a complex character who had been hurt and did everything in her power to take care of her son and put him first. I loved when she finally let herself have fun and enjoy Rene’s attention. And her friend, Hannah, cracked me up so many times!

As always, Savannah manages to write these stories with characters that move into our hearts and leave us feeling all warm and toasty. Her books are filled with love, laughter and so many sweet, tender moments that you will never forget. And He’s So Not My Valentine is no exception!!

I highly recommend you add this book to your Valentine reads! You won’t regret it! I mean, if Savannah writes it, it’s gonna be amazing!!

Also I loved seeing Pierre and Tasha again!! If you haven’t read their book yet, then this is your reminder to do so!

Things I Loved:
🥐French hellos
🥐Nate
🥐French Kissing chat
🥐He helps her
🥐Flirty banter
🥐He cooks!!
🥐The first kiss!!!
🥐Rene’s gift and note
🥐The red dress
🥐Hannah!
🥐Valentine’s Day!
🥐Dancing on the sidewalk
🥐The airport scene
🥐The grand gesture

A return to Harvest Hollow with a flirty, attentive Frenchman? Yes, please! Heather is a single mom who manages the local coffee shop but who never has a moment for herself. Rene is a shameless flirty Frenchman who sees Heather and wants to show her that she is still a desirable woman. Heather is so real as she overcomes her insecurities from her divorce and allows Rene into her heart. And I absolutely love how Rene truly sees Heather and understands what she needs and deserves. If you enjoy a sweet and swoony romance, then He's So Not My Valentine is a must-read!

Alright, if you haven’t read a Savannah Scott book yet, first drop everything and go get this one (because it’s amazing), and then go start reading all her previous stories because you’re totally missing out.

Heather is a single mom and killing it, working in a coffee shop and taking care of everyone, but who’s taking care of her? René is a Frenchman (swoon) and is living a carefree life, but suddenly feels there is something missing. What happens to the two when they are inadvertently pushed together?

René and Heather were just magical together. The story of their romance was sweet, swoony, and had some raw emotions, especially with Heather. The raw emotions were conveyed in such a gentle and touching way. And, of course, I’m over here rooting for René to help Heather overcome her insecurities. I loved this story and look forward to more! Also, absolutely love all the quotes at the beginning of the chapters.

Thank you to the author for the arc. All opinions expressed are my own.

Getting to reread via fantastic duet audio narration with a French accent for Rene. 🫠🫠
Continue for my original review:

When I say that Rene & Heather’s reluctant to fall, single-mom romance is one of my all time faves, I am not exaggerating. I love Savannah’s writing and can never really pick favorites, but this one squeaks in as a favorite for sure.

Things I loved:
-Nate and being 17 😆
-He’s got whatever the French word for danger is written all over him. He’s like setting a chocolate cake in front of a diabetic. She’ll enjoy the experience and … then she’ll die.”
-Danish 😂
-“We’re both adults here, Heather, so I will speak plainly. You are an intelligent woman. You hold this shop together, never letting a cup go empty and never allowing any customer to feel neglected. You manage to mother your son with the right balance of care and firmness even though you are surely exhausted at the end of every day. And yet, when I see you—when most men see you—we don’t see a harried business owner or a single-mom barely hanging on to all the details of her overwhelming life. We see a woman who is captivating, intriguing, and beautiful. And that is why I would be watching you.”
-Mild death glare
-It’s probably the special umph.
-Uno
-Nate teaching Rene English 😂
-“Is it still charm if it’s sincere?”
“I think it’s all the more dangerous when it’s sincere.”
-“A high price indeed. No one should be so far from me. It’s tragic to live a Rene-free existence.”
-“Pierre said I am falling for this town. He is wrong about the town, maybe not so far off about the falling.”
-The distance between us 💔
-“Time to mop!”
-TMI
-Hannah
-Simple. 🫠
-THE date
-“I might have fallen in love in America,” I confess. “Even if I didn’t fall in love with America.”
-The entire endingggg.

It has all the laughs balanced so well with all the feels. I swooned, I laughed out loud, I cried, and I adored how Rene discovered so much about himself and what he values while helping Heather see herself as someone who is worthy of being cherished and loved. It was just a beautiful, sweet, and uplifting read. You can’t help but smile like crazy over these two!

Yes yes yes!!! I loved this book! Rene is alllll the heart eyes 😍 He is charming and sweet, flirty and funny, sensitive and loving. Yup, he was the whole swoony package. I loved that he was so much more than meets the eye, and he slowly broke down Heathers defenses. She judged immediately as a flirt and put up a big “Nope!” sign whenever he was around. But that made him just want to break down her defenses even more, and it made the journey so much fun.

I especially loved watching his relationship with her son, Nate. Rene had never intended to settle down and have a family of his own, so his quick ability to create a bond with Nate surprised even himself.

Do yourself a favor and don’t let his book pass you by. It is a definite must read, whether it be for Valentines or any other time.

“Rene keeps staring at me with this expression I haven’t seen in a man’s eyes in years. It’s expectant, but reserved. He’s so focused on me, it should feel awkward, but instead I feel …cherished.”

Heather hasn’t felt cherished in a long time, especially after her ex cheated on her. She’s a strong single mom, but fragile and wary when it comes to men.

Rene is a charming Frenchman, visiting his best friend in Harvest Hollow, and he sees what a treasure Heather is. He wants to help her see how desirable she is and get her heart ready for love again, but can he watch while some other man claims that beautiful heart?

Heather is initially put off by Rene‘s charm and flirtatious personality, but realizes there’s so much more to him. But how can a relationship with him possibly work when he lives a continent away?

💕 I adored everything about this story! Once again, Savannah Scott has created such a beautiful love story, full of swoony romance, wonderful characters, great dialogue, humor, and sweet, poignant moments.

What I loved:
🩷 FMC strength, resilience, and vulnerability
❤️ ‘Mon ange’
🩷 Supportive sister and bff
❤️ Nate teaching Rene American slang
🩷 Pining and longing
❤️ FMC who was cheated on gets a much better man
🩷 The Grand Gesture

If you love sweet romcoms or are looking for a good Valentine’s Day read, I highly recommend this one!

Oh my, there is nothing like chemistry from a Frenchman. French kissing is not only on the lips apparently, it goes all the way to the the neck, wrists, fingertips. Oh yes, it does!

I listened to the audio for this one and I loved it. We have a French character so that means our male narrator did a take on the Frenchman speaking English with an accent! and it was amazing. It felt so much more romantic just to listen to the audio with that French accent. Sooo good.
I'm familiar with Savannah's humor and her laugh out loud moments in books. Although this one didn't have those moments for me, I did have many, many tender and romantic moments. And balled my eyes out on few occasions (extra points for making me cry).

This is a clean romance, with tons of chemistry and will definitely make you swoon. Our MMC is a book boyfriend material for sure: Oui bien sûr! Every husband, boyfriend, man in general, should read this book and learn (sorry, but it's true. Some forget after a while what it's all about; some just don't have no idea).

*Swooooon*

"...I thought I had to love America more than France to move here. It turns out I only had to love you more. And I love you so much more.”

single mom • french man • coffee shops • small town • he falls first

💭 When Heather first met Rene, she thought she knew all these was to know about him.. a charming French man who goes through woman like she does coffee. Missing his best friend and feeling particularly lonely, Rene comes to America in hopes of a "refresher". For the first time, he really "Sees" Heather.

Rene is determined to show Heather that she is deserving of love. And boy does he show her. 🥹

This book was swoony, laugh out loud funny and a whole-lot of heart and sweetness. I absolutely adored Heather's son, Nate. I loved how protective Pierre has grown to be over Heather. But my favorite part was watching these two realize how much they fell in love. 😭🤍 It was the sweetest of sweets.

I loved this book so much!!! This might’ve just moved up to my fave Savannah Scott book yet!!! And Rene has now moved into first place in book boyfriends from Savannah Scott’s books!! He’s so swoony and French. I mean, accents am I right? Heather is a single mom who runs a coffee shop in Harvest Hollow. Rene comes to visit his best friend who is also her brother in law. She will not be attracted to him, because she knows his type and he’s a big flirt. Can she resist him though? Read this book as soon as you can!! You won’t regret it!!!

All the swoonyness of France in one book

Wow.

This is my new favorite Savannah Scott book. 100% hands down it wins the gold medal.

Why?

Because Rene.

Rene is amazing. And he sees who Heather is as a person, not just what she does. I love how he sees her strength, the beauty she is because she's an amazing mother, her skills as a business woman and is determined to help her see herself as the beautiful woman she is.

That right there- dead sexy in a man.

I loved the fact that their relationship was mature. They talked. They expressed feelings. They didn't beat around the bush.

Hello healthy relationship example!! Absolutely adored that aspect.

Of course I loved our side characters, who couldn't live Nate?! Such a fun book after A Not So Fictional Fall.

This whole book was swoony, sweet, and so heartwarming. Had me feeling all the feels in the best way. Absolutely loved it!

Valentine's Day...some love it and some wish it didn't exist. Heather is definitely leaning more towards the wish it didn't exist side of the scale. She doesn't outright hate and despise it, but she doesn't have warm and happy feelings for it. Enter Rene, a charming a debonair Frenchman, best friend to Heather's brother-in-law. He's going to be showing her that love is good and true and can bring someone joy beyond their understanding.

*Warning...Rene is going to steal your heart...you have been warned!!!*

I read this book back when it released and I devoured it! I can't get enough of Heather and Rene and Heather's sister's story. Seriously, the chemistry, the character development, the secondary characters, the story line, the setting, the friendships, the family dynamics and support, the second chance at love, the single parent trope and so much more are why I love this book! And why I'm a fan of Savannah Scott. She's a must read author for me and an author that I recommend her books to family and friends!

I loved the book so much and when I had the chance to listen to the audiobook, you better believe I jumped on it! And holy moly it was great! I loved the duet between the narrators in narrating this one. I loved having both a male and female narrator. Some listeners said that they didn't connect with the female narrator's inflections as much but honestly, I enjoyed her voice. I thought it was very enjoyable and found myself being lost in the story and imagining myself there in Cataloochee Coffee shop or in France with Rene, or out on the town with Heather and Rene or in the woods. Loved it lots!!!

Content: Swoon and clean! Some toe curling kisses but nothing further. Rene is a perfect gentleman. Some talk about divorce and Heather being a single parent raising her son.

I purchased my own ebook copy and received an audiobook from the publisher, Victory Editing NetGalley Co-Op, via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.

Happy Reading!!!

Every book I’ve read of Savannah Scott’s has the feeling of coming home to old friends. She always has the most heart felt acknowledgements, every time I read a new book of hers, I am moved by them. And her chapter headings are perfection.
It was so fun to see Pierre and Tasha again. I love this couple. And Harvest Hollow is a character all on its own, I wish it was a real place.
I adored Heather (and Rene) in A NOT SO FICTIONAL FALL and I was so excited to see their story continue. Rene is SO charming and sophisticated. The progression of their relationship will be on my mind for a long time. They are perfect for each other. There are so many things to love in this book. I read many chapters a couple times. I loved it so much. There was one part that had me in tears. All characters are written so well and are special in their own way (Nate, Hannah, Floyd). And wow! All the kisses.
Treat yourself to this lovely, heartwarming book. I am so happy I was blessed to read it.
I received an eARC from the author. All views and opinions expressed are my own.
