Sharing a mate with his brother would be difficult. But keeping it a secret? Maybe, impossible. With Amon finally in custody and set to live out his days in the palace dungeon, Ever and Talon are ready for what should be the honeymoon phase. They're safe now, and all that's left to do is wrap up a quick visit with the King before heading home. But when a plot to overthrow the King is revealed and someone close to them is suspected as a conspirator, everything changes. Not one mate. Not two mates. But, three? Things are getting very crowded. King Drake couldn't pass up the chance to see her. Just once. The girl who dances through his dreams. SUCK U is book 2 in a long-running series with more than one storyline. The first storyline is told from a multi-POV, and is set to be a trilogy. This first story is a progressive reverse-harem. Meaning, the FMC will add mates as the series progresses. Adult language, steamy adult scenes, and themes of abuse, rape, and stalking, but while those may be disturbing to some, this book is meant to be a fun read.
I could tear my hair out left on a cliff hanger and can't find the next book in this series. I enjoyed this series it is different than other vampire books and after two books I still don't really understand how this vampire world works. It is different from other books read in that though Ever has a connection with them she does not seem to be in love with them in a way most of us would understand. Was not really into the fight scenes too wordy. Really need more about Claire and Bass. The whole mate thing is not clear like how Drake and Amon can just leave her --then there is the woman who came to Ever in Book one when Amon opened up Talon's chest who looks like Ever even down to the tattoo on her wrist so many unanswered questions. So looking forward to getting answers.
ARC REVIEW - Thank you to the author for allowing me to read! This review is my true opinion.
I was dying to get the second installment because I just knew this would be better than the first and I was right. King Drake gets thrown in the mix after a wild Epilogue in book 1, and I couldn't have loved him more. He was the perfect addition. And there were so many surprises I wasn't expecting in this one.
Royally Sucked is the 2nd installment in a 3 book storyline of a long-running series. This story follows Ever and her men. So far she has 3 mates, and I have to wonder if there will be more added or if this is it. I'd be happy with Talon, Amon, and King Drake because they're all so different and bring so much to the table.
I hate to say this out loud, but I'm rooting for Amon (The bad guy)
Better than the first! But let's start with the bad...
*I wish Amon had been given more of a voice in book 2. We see him but we don't hear from him until the very end. I think if we'd heard his voice earlier, it would be easier to empathize with him. *I have a similar complaint about King Drake but slightly different. While this is a RH and the relationship between Drake and Ever does bud in this installment, they jump very quickly from Point A to B with very little development.
Now, the Good...
*I LOVE the royal addition in this one. King Drake is a good back and forth between strong Kingly and sweet, in-love mate. *And yes, I even grew to root for Amon toward the end of the book and hope he gets a bigger voice in book 3.
Overall, book 2 was more developed and exciting than book 1. I'd give it 4.75 stars
I waited almost 6 months after reading book 1, and thank goodness, book 2 didn't disappoint. Better than the 1st for sure. Don't get me wrong, book 1 was great, but book 2 really heats up and we finally see multiple relationships forming.
I love the addition of King Drake. He and Amon both add even more adventure, and I'd love to see a backstory on these two. No spoilers, though.
I absolutely loved this book and this was a great second part of the series. I loved seeing Ever's developing relationship with Talon as well as a new addition. There's plenty of action scenes as well, and the ending wrapped up nicely but left me wanting more. Ellie Aiden never fails to entertain me with her characters and their banter and this book was no exception. I can't wait to find out what happens in the next book.
