Walking with Synn

Rate this book
Sayvor and Flayvor are Synn demons and more importantly they are twins, closer than most beings can even imagine. They are close enough that their bonds offer them the strength to walk the earth under the sun, allowing them to carry their souls unlike the other Tascryn demons. But when bigotry tears them apart and Flayvor is captured by their enemy, how far will Sayvor go to save his brother’s life and his own sanity? And will any woman be willing to walk that dangerous path with him?

Walking with Synn is part of the Anom'tan Serial set of stories.

L. Shannon, the author, came into existence in June of 2004. Shannon’s always been a reader and lover of books, but never considered writing until one night when she ran out of books to read… She began writing that very night as the first line of defense in a battle against insomnia. Her writing has steadily grown into a full-out war against reality. Her friends kindly say reality never stood a chance.

The L. Shannon novels have expanded to fill an entire world with paranormal wonders including Valàfrn werewolves, Tascryn demons, blood-sucking vampires, sexy selkies and many, many more. Be careful if you choose to enter Shannon’s hunk-filled world. You may never wish to leave…

In the time Shannon doesn’t spend writing, she’s kept busy by bothering her super supportive husband, showing dogs, gardening and watching over her Butterfly Koi ponds. You can learn more about her writing and her life at www.lshannon.net.

Sayvor, a Synn demon, is in danger. His twin, Flayvor, has been captured. But the attack on the two of them has left him with only fragments of his memories, and without his twin, Sayvor cannot survive. Dr. Sasha Washington, who has been tasked with helping him recover, may have to resort to some unusual treatments to have any chance of being successful.

This read requires you to kind of go with the flow and not ask too many questions, but hey, it does some interesting worldbuilding in the very few pages it has. The majority of the book is spent on sex scenes, which were a little out there at moments but nothing too crazy, and the writing was better than it needed to be. Honestly the naming mechanics of the two main demon characters were the biggest question I had about the book. I would absolutely recommend this as a quick, easy read if you are a fan of the genre and not too concerned with the “who, what, and how” of the book’s universe.

3/5 Exactly what it says on the tin, and that’s not a bad thing.

Walking with Synn is the first instalment in the Anom'tan series by L. Shannon.

We are introduced to Sayvor and his predicament – he has been attacked and struggles to remember who took his brother. This leads us to Dr. Sasha Washington who has been tasked with healing Sayvor and getting information out of him.

This is a short book, but the premise seemed interesting enough, so I gave it a go. However, I really couldn't get into it. The readers are thrown into the plot head first and are expected to root for a potential relationship between Sayvor and Sasha even though we barely know them.

The majority of this book is pure smut – which is fine! However, I would have liked to see more character development. I also would have liked some interactions between Sayvor and Sasha where it didn't feel forced and abrupt.

Sadly, I don't think I'll continue with the series but Walking With Synn is a quick and easy read for anyone interested!
