Being stranded in Belize with my coach’s daughter was yet another unexpected twist to the vacation my best friend convinced me to take. That’s right, me, Preston Fields, who lives for baseball broke the rules in favor of an adventure and ended up stuck with a new travel companion in the form of an irresistibly beautiful woman while waiting out a global shutdown.
As she lets her walls down and finds herself outside of the carefully constructed life she’s been living, I fall hard for the woman behind the screen. With each day in the same house, each stolen glance and passing touch, the burn intensifies until we combust in fiery passion.
I never realized Ivory Crenshaw would be my biggest adventure, but she’s all I want. Will we be left stranded on second or can I convince Hollywood’s Sweetheart our love is the real deal so we can score our happily ever after?
Stranded on Second is a forced proximity travel romance between a baseball player and famous actress (his coach's daughter) with a guaranteed happily ever after and no third act breakup.
This one was nothing like I expected and everything I didn’t know I needed! I loved it from start to finish! Preston Fields is everything, and I am in love with this man from his cinnamon roll attitude to his filthy as sin mouth. We love a supportive King and this one is top notch.
TROPES Baseball Player x Movie Star Forced Proximity Coach’s Daughter He Falls First Pandemic Romance
When Ivory Crenshaw meet after they both decide to take a quick getaway to Belize, they have no idea a worldwide pandemic will shut down everything and forced them to rely on each other and stay together until they can get back to their lives. Him as a baseball player and her as America’s sweetheart. But what if something that started during isolation soon mean everything to both of them.
Ugh, these two are precious. You know when both characters are just so good you want them to find happiness with each other? Yeah that’s this book. Ivory was so dang adorable, and the way Preston fell for her and repeatedly told her exactly how he was feeling was just so sweet.
This one was a bit of a slow burn, but once it caught fire, they lit up. Over and over. And that man and his mouth 🔥🔥 so hot!
This one does mainly take place during a pandemic, but there is a bit at the end that really tied in With Preston’s career and Ivey’s future and I loved how the sports aspect of this played out.
Also Preston’s best friend MIller is my favorite thing ever and I need more of him!

This book revolves around Hollywood sweetheart actress Ivory Crenshaw and Baseball star Preston Fields, both whose lives and careers have impacted by the pandemic. Ivory and Preston are both in need of a break and escape from their lives, with the help and push their respective friends, they both book a flight to a resort in Belize. What was meant to be a week getaway to recharge ended up turned into 3 months due to the pandemic shutdown. The two end up at the same resort, same room, and eventually same bed. They both decide to stick together and going on adventures. Slowly both start to fall for on another and can’t deny the undenying and physical tension. 😈 will their love and relationship continue to grow after they go back to their lives.. read the book to find out 🤩
Preston is the ultimate cinnamon roll Mmc. He is so caring, attentive, and patient. He sets the bar high for how a man should treat a woman. But don’t get it twisted, in bed he is one filthy, dirty talking, and dominant fella.
Ivory is a well known actress since she was child. Living a life in the spotlight has made being normal difficult for Ivory. Ivory has the most character development in the book. Despite being a famous actress, She was very uptight, insecure, and scared all the time. During her time with Preston and away from the outside world, she was able to work on herself and rediscover her true identify and confidence aka Ives. Ivory’s feelings of insecurity with herself and finding people who love her for her and not her job or what they can gain from her is very relatable to many women/people in general.
What a knock out debut book. This book was giving quarantine and chill vibes. I wish this book was out during the pandemic. I have to say this a SLOWBURN book. Emphasis on slow. At times I found myself wanting to scream at my kindle “just do it already”. The tension and chemistry was thick and i could feel thought my kindle screen. The book was a story of love, self discovery, and determination. It was interesting to read a book during the global pandemic era and being able to empathize with their feelings and emotions.
I hope Preston and Ivory’s friend get a book hehe.
This book was one of my most anticipated books of this year. I have followed Tiff for months on bookstagram. And I was so happy when I got an ARC for it 🤩 And I can say, I definitely wasn't disappointed. This book is sooo good 😍 I know lots of people want to forget or push away the pandemic, but it's part of our lives. So I really appreciate it that Tiff wrote a book set during this time 👍 Is it a good idea to travel at the beginning of a pandemic? Definitely not! But neither Preston nor Ivory thought it would have these dimensions when they flew to Belize. And honestly, I could think of worse places to stay stranded during a pandemic than a wonderful island... Especially the second place. WOW. I want my own island too!!! 🤩 Preston is the cutest cinnamon roll I've ever "met". God. Can a man be more supportive and I don't know, just everything? He fell in love with Ivory more or less at first sight and just WAITED!!! Honestly? Sooo obsessed with her but just waited (with lots of blue balls...). I can't believe it 🥰 OK, he just not only waited. He showed her how much he loved her. Every single second. And there were a lot of seconds... Ivory is so insecure and scared all the time. Everyone wants her because she is THE Ivory Crenshaw. The Hollywood actress. But nobody wants the real Ivory, except for one person... OK, her two friends love her for herself too, but they have known each other for so long. Something I love about this book too. The friendship both have with their friends. Both don't have many friends, but the ones they have are so intense 😍 It's best to stop here with my review. But let me say one more thing... READ THIS BOOK!!!!
Oh, and I'm sooo excited to read the stories about all the friends... I can't say who I love more Miller, Gabby, or Tay. They are all so special 🤩
This book is swoon, swoon and more swoon!! Preston is everything in a book boyfriend you want and sooooo much more. His mouth had me sweating! He is soooo hot and swoony! His love for Ivory and the love of baseball are incredible!!!
This book is soooo fun! The two characters Preston and Ivory meet while on vacation and fall for each other. Their destinations and vacation journey are characters in themselves. T. Leigh Turner writes such incredible descriptions that are soooo visually appealing. I could see the places in my head as I read along. Such beautiful destinations!!!
I loveeeee how Ivory puts her mind to something and she may overthink it, but she does it! She is such a relatable female character. Despite being a Hollywood goddess, she is so raw and you’ll see so much of yourself in her!! I loved her character and the story she was given!!
The baseball parts of the story were amazing!!! I was on the edge of my seat! I felt like I was watching Preston actually play. I loveeeee Preston!! This man is HOT!! The things that come out of his mouth. The mirror scene holy oh my gosh! 🥵❤️🔥🫠 The spice in this book is infinity stars amazing!!! I did not want this book to finish, I loved it. ♾️⭐️
I was honestly craving for another baseball romance and this book did filled that void- just hit the spot! Everything about this book was just phenomenal! I couldn’t believe that it was Turner’s debut novel like- excuse me ?! This was sooooo goooddd!!
I was living for the tension between both the main characters 😮💨😮💨. Their banter was just hilarious- loved the sense of humor here. And of course there were spicyyyy scenes which had me gasping and giggling and blushing as rushing through pages. Their chemistry was just *chef kisses* 👨🍳💋
I loved how each characters were written (including all the side characters). Ivory’s (FMC) character was the one that caught my eyes. Her character felt so relatable. From being an insecure child actress to being a strong, confident woman- her character development was so good! Also I loved the way Preston (MMC) was always there for Ivory and supported her. He was indeed a cinnamon roll!
Hands off to the author for writing this amazing story! I will definitely be reading more of her work in future <3
This debut novel from T. Leigh Turner was an out of the park homerun! I’ve had the pleasure of reading a lot of debut authors in real time and have never been so impressed. It’s very evident that Turner put the time and research in to make this story accurate and cohesive to the goings on of the early days of the pandemic. I liked that the pandemic was factual and present in the story but it wasn’t the whole story.
All of my favorite tropes were present in Stranded on Second. We start with forced proximity, forbidden romance, slow burn and he fall’s first followed quickly by my favorite of all time, found family. Our FMC and MMC may carry the story on their own but Gabby, Taylor and Miller give this book so much heart.
If this is what we get from her in a debut I can’t wait to see what’s next for us with the Nashville city troubadours series.
This was a 4.5 star read for me with a solid 4 🌶️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️ on the spicy factor!
As a non-romance girly, I was surprised to find myself so swept up into Ivory and Preston’s adventure. I also now FULLY understand what BookTok means when they say a book is a “slow burn”. Jeesh!
I loved that Preston was a huge green flag from start to finish, and Ivory was never forced to accept poor male behavior or make a decision to change herself for the sake of a dude, which (in my limited romance reading opinion) feels like a common trope to build drama/ tension so there can be a redemption moment. Seeking redemption isn’t valiant — you can just… not be a piece of shit. Preston gets it.
Also loved the friends who surrounded both of them; however, Daddy Baseball needs a trip to Belize himself to recenter.
Note: I’m proud to say I know the author personally and as a result, acknowledge that my review could be seen as biased. But you should still definitely read this book.
This was a really fun and cute baseball read! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This takes place during the pandemic when everything was shutting down and as much as I hate reliving that time... I enjoyed this book! Preston is an incredible, patient, kind and dirty mouthed lover. He was so good! and Ivory was so sweet and fun. I loved watching her try and find her own voice and become her own person, with Preston being the biggest supporter. He was so patient with her, giving her space and being open and honest with falling for her. Im obsessed with her best friends, and Prestons best friend Miller (I really hope we get more of him down the road!!) They both made each other better people, trying new things together and growing as a couple while stuck in Belize.
⚾️Pro MLB player x Famous actress 🎬Forced Proximity ⚾️Slow(ish) Burn 🎬He falls first ⚾️Found family 🎬No Third act break up
This debut novel was a homerun! 😜 Likeable characters in a beautiful setting you can't help but get swept into Ivory & Preston's story from the very beginning. A little pandemic PTSD reading about the world shutting down, masks, and the rules that made life in 2020 a wild ride for everyone but I loved reading how these characters made the most of their unusual adventure and ended up finding the beginning of their happily ever after... can't wait to read more by this author!
What happens when Ivory Crenshaw is on vacation and a global pandemic cancels flights and borders are closed? She is at the same resort as one of the one star baseball players your dad coaches, Preston Fields, you two decide to stick together during these unprecedented times. This is the perfect opportunity for Ivory to plan and work on her next project, hopefully it will be the next step in the direction she wants to go. She also finds herself trying new things thanks to Preston. One of those things? Falling in love!
I had the privilege of beta reading this book and OMG! I think about Preston Fields way too often for being a fictional character but I guess that just makes him the perfect book boyfriend! When he falls first is my absolute favorite and Tiffany delivered perfectly. This book was a slow burn in the best way! The forced proximity and tension and buildup between Preston and Ivory is hot but damn when the spice hits! 🥵😮💨🫠 Preston and Ivory’s friends were hilarious, especially Miller! This has easily been one of my top reads of the year so far!
While reading SOS it was so easy to forget this is A debut novel! The characters and story created were beautiful and the story just flows off the pages and comes to life.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
They sure made the best of the situation they were in 😄
What to expect:
✨ a romance during a global pandemic ✨ Hollywood actress x baseball player ✨ his coach’s daughter ✨ stranded in Belize ✨ forced proximity ✨ only one bed ✨ he falls first and hard ✨ slow burn ✨ long distance relationship ✨ no third act breakup ✨ dual POV ✨ HEA 🌶️ 3.5/5
What I liked:
Preston! He is the perfect guy, literally only green flags. He is charming, supportive, honest about his feelings to himself and others. He’s not playing games, he can communicate, it was really refreshing reading his character. 🥰
While it took Ivory longer to get there, I loved to see that she was all in as well and stood up for herself and her relationship. All in all I just loved that they have a mature and healthy relationship with no drama.
I also liked that we learned a little bit about Belize which seems to be a really cool country that for some reason just wasn’t on my radar.
What I would have wanted differently and/or did not quite understand:
⚠️ Spoilers ⚠️
- The story could have been shorter imo. I felt like it took them quite long to get together but then again a large part of the story was after they returned and were in an established (long distance) relationship and there was no conflict/drama (as I said I don’t mind that at all). I’m just thinking it could have been shorter because it felt like the story was dragged out longer than necessary in some chapters.
- Let me start out by saying I love that Ivory is not one of those people who just abandons her friends once she gets in a relationship and I was all for her visiting Gabby. However she was there 4+ weeks which is quite a long time while simultaneously saying how hard long distance is and how much she misses Preston. Why wouldn’t she visit him, too? I know he had training and was sometimes traveling (though not far) but Gabby had to work as well and if she had gone to Tampa they could at least have spent the evenings together. I guess I just didn’t understand the reasoning behind. She didn’t have to be in LA or she couldn’t have gone to Nashville. And I don’t think there were travel restrictions or again she couldn’t have gone to Nashville. 😅
- Daddy Mike’s behavior: I still have not understood if he acted the way he acted because of the new player or if it was actually because of Ivory. If it’s the latter then it’s highly unprofessional 😅
- I know it was pointed out that the move to Nashville is something Ivory was doing for herself but it rubbed me the wrong way that even though she wanted to include Preston in the decision she did her own thing buying her house and her furniture etc even when she already knew he was transferring to Nashville. Yes, she asked him later to move in but I was shoked when she heard the news of him transferring she asked him where he was staying. Girl, that man just uprooted his whole life for you! I kinda thought it was a given that he would stay with her 😂 so yeah, it doesn’t bother me that much but I would have preferred for them to find and make a home together.
- Also another thing and this is just a question. It was never mentioned and I honestly don’t know how much pro baseball players make but with her being really famous I for sure thought she was loaded and richer than Preston. Why would he have to be her silent investor? 🤔😅
Ivory, celebrity actress, coaches daughter unhappy because her studio cancelled her debut movie she had written and was going to be a director of for the first time. Is talked into going to Belize and relaxing for a week to de-stress.
Preston, Second baseman for a professional baseball team is stressed over their season being pushed back a couple weeks because of the pandemic. He missed his usual off season vacation trips because of his father’s health. His best friend talks him into going to Belize for a week to de-stress.
They find themselves staying at the same world class resort in Belize. They both instantly recognize each other but don’t let the other know they do. Then the world comes to a halt. Flights are cancelled. Resorts and hotels are closing. They can’t fly home and have to get creative to find places to stay. They decide under the circumstances they should stay together.
Preston teaches her to snorkel, paddle boat, run and with each thing she regains her confidence in herself and clears her mind of her Hollywood persona and gets back to being Ivory.
Preston falls first and is so very patient with Ivory but who could resist a gorgeous professional athlete who puts your feeling first and shows you how to live again.
They finally are next level and committed to each other. They are stranded in Belize for three months until flights are finally reopened. Ivory has to travel back to Hollywood and Preston has to travel to Tampa where his team is based. He also has to face her dad’s wrath over his being out of the country AND being with his daughter.
Can their new relationship survive long distance, an irate grumpy coach and girlfriend’s father and all the interference the world can throw at them? Read the book to find out. I highly recommend this book! Go fall in love with Preston! He will be your next book boyfriend.
Absolutely phenomenal debut book! A sexy slow burn you can’t put down with top notch chemistry and characters you fall head over heels in love with, bringing you delicious tension, charming humor, and so much heart. Hollywood’s Sweetheart, Ivory Crenshaw, though she finally had her shot at breaking out of the acting mold and sliding into a writing and directing role she’s been craving. But a pandemic leaves that dream in the dust and with her life up in the air she gets convinced that a few days in Belize is the way to go, giving her time to think, plan, and reset. Until she’s stuck there for the foreseeable future as the world puts itself on lockdown because of the pandemic. Lucky for her she’s not stuck alone. Preston Fields, baseball star, hopped a plane down to Belize to feed his need for adventure and take a breather when spring training got cancelled. He didn’t plan on a few days turning into who knows how long, putting his career at risk, or being stuck in paradise with his coach’s daughter. Making the best of an out of control situation they decide to stick together and take advantage of everything the islands of Belize have to offer, hiking, exploring, and a quiet neither of them have ever known. But the biggest adventure they take on is the sizzling chemistry they share and the realization that down here they found themselves and discovered each other. But the island is their own little world so what happens when they go back to the real one? Cannot get over how in love with this book I am! So well written, the plot just sweeps you away as Ivory fights to find herself and believe that the woman she wants to be is enough and Preston fights to make her see that he’s falling for her and not Hollywood’s Sweetheart, he wants the messy, laughing, big hearted, woman she is, not the one she projects for the cameras and her fans. It’s utter devotion, pure love, finding freedom in that love, and learning to love yourself as you are, with the most thoughtful, sexy, cinnamon roll hero ever, amazing and breathtaking adventure, packaged up in a must read romance!
I am so glad that this book was my first ever arc! I have been looking forward to reading this for months and it certainly did not disappoint. Author T. Leigh Turner knows how to write. I am so happy that this is the first book of the Music City Troubadours series as I will definitely be reading what is next to come.
Turner creates characters that are not only likeable and relatable but also have hilarious banter. I loved how she includes the side characters: Miller, Taylor and Gabrielle in the plot still even though the main characters are stranded in Belize. And she cleverly hints at possible scenarios for those characters in future books. Turner also knows how to create great main characters too. Preston Fields is about to be everyone’s favourite book boyfriend. And I also loved seeing his and Ivory’s chemistry develop over the course of their relationship as well as Ivory’s character development.
The first chapter gripped me from the beginning, it was fast paced and really easy to read. Ivory was quite uptight at the start and we could see that she definitely needed a vacation. I loved the whole element of her feeling the weight of being the persona of Ivory Crenshaw and her progression into becoming Ives again. And I love Preston’s continued support for her throughout. Do guys like Preston actually exist??? I won’t spoil the book but there are some very sweet and romantic moments that he arranges for her and this was even more romantic in the various beautiful settings in Belize. And I felt great relief in knowing that THERE IS NO THIRD ACT BREAK UP!
I thought that Turner tackled the difficult setting of the pandemic really well. She carefully kept it relatable and thought of not just the main characters, but also highlighted the struggle that many in the sports and entertainment industries endured during 2020.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and am excited for what is next for these characters. And I really want to go to Belize now. But without becoming stranded because I don’t think I would be as lucky as Ivory in meeting Preston.
First things first.. congrats on your debut book, you really hit it out the park( see what I did there 😂😂😂😂) this book was a flashback of the pandemic, which in my opinion was the best of times and the worst of time wrapped together.
So Ivory is Hollywoods sweetheart and Preston is a professional baseball player.. and in March 2020 just like everybody didn’t really know what covid was or how it would change our lives forever really.. Ivory best friend convinces her to go to Belize for a little break thinking everything would go back normal in a few weeks, Preston was in the same situation his friends and teammate combines him to also take a break.
Well surprise surprise what they both thought would be a week long vacation, turns into three months stranded in Belize, with no real idea of when they would be able to go home, and to add a little more chaos they discover they had a very insane connection.. This was a slow burn with a-lot tension, but once the action starts, you won’t want to put this book down, I highly recommend this book to everyone. It’s fun, adventure filled, and has some pretty great side characters.. speaking of Miller and Taylor like please we needddd it ok lol
Between all the new adventures, the Group FaceTime calls, the IG official posts, and how much they supported each other, especially after returning home, I fell in love with these two!! I can’t not mention how I loved Ivory relationship with Gabby and Taylor, it’s just everything having real friends you can count on. Preston and Miller relationship is so funny to me, but I love them too.
So I’ll end this by saying I’m always so grateful to read an author debut work, It was bottom of the 9th, you needed a walk off and you got the motherfucking walk off!!!( that was one of my favorite parts, I had to incorporate it lol)
“What am I even saying? This is only our second conversation. It’s not like us randomly meeting at this resort in Belize is going to turn into some epic love story between us no matter the attraction I feel for her.”
Stranded on Second | T. Leigh Turner
Review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, 🌶️🌶️🌶️
“Hanging with Preston brings Ives out, and I like that she is resurfacing.”
Read this if you love: tropical/island adventure | baseball player | famous actress | strong friendships | forced proximity | one bed | slow burn | lots of derailed plans | road trip | Coach’s daughter | he falls first | no third act breakup
“I can picture our future looking a lot like this. Ivory and I making a life together after this is all over. I can’t say that I’ve ever seriously thought about settling down before this trip. I haven’t considered life after baseball much at all. I just do my best to stay healthy and play as long as I possibly can. Life has always been baseball to me. And now, there is Ivory.”
As I’m reading this book I started thinking that it was like someone came into my head and took my baseball/celebrity storyline that’s been there for awhile and put it in print! So yes, I really did enjoy this book. I also really wanted this to be a movie with the dreamy scenery that is Belize and all of the places where they traveled. What makes this book special is the main characters, Ivory and Preston. He is absolutely smitten with her upon first meeting, but it takes her time to let her guard down. Watching their relationship grow as they adventure together, makes this book a great read. I did not realize until I finished the book that Turner is a debut author. She created great main characters, but also characters who will get their spotlight as the series continues.
Thank you @tleighturner_author and @wordsmithpublicity for the eARC. I received a free copy for an honest review.
T. Leigh Turner is a new-to-me author, and I'm so glad I got to read Stranded on Second! It was quite an entertaining story between baseball star Preston and Hollywood's Sweetheart Ivory, an actress who happens to be the daughter of his coach.
In the days before the global pandemic shut down the world, Preston and Ivory both take a trip to a remote resort in Belize, each needing an escape from their daily lives. They cross paths at the resort bar and there is an instant attraction, but they just say farewell and call it a night. But as they keep running into each other, they strike up a bit of a friendship… and that grows even more as the pandemic spreads and they are forced to leave the resort and take shelter at a private villa until they can fly back home to the U.S.
I loved the connection between Preston and Ivory! I loved the setting of this story and how they were in this idyllic bubble. Preston was such a cinnamon roll, and I loved how attentive and supportive he was of Ivory... especially when she was hesitant to pursue something. He was just so patient! Sigh. And Swoon. I really liked getting to know vulnerable, insecure Ivory, the side she showed Preston that the rest of the world didn't see behind her Hollywood's Sweetheart facade.
Stranded on Second was swoony, charming, romantic... It was so well-written and I enjoyed all the big and small moments between Preston and Ivory!
i received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.
I’m unsure on how I feel about this one honestly. It was a good book - don’t get me wrong, but I just felt like this wasn’t a book I vibed well with or liked so to speak.
This book starts out with a pandemic outbreak that essentially causes the whole world to shut down, including Ivory’s Hollywood acting gig and Preston’s baseball team. Then they both get talked into taking a last minute vacation to Belize separately, in which they end up meeting each other inevitably... Once they meet, they then get stranded in Belize together for a longer time than one would ever imagine because of the outbreak. So they make the best of it, going on many adventures over the span of their time together.
Personally, I think this book was written well and the interactions between the characters were cute. However, I felt weird reading a book about a pandemic after having one a few years ago. I think it may have been just a me thing and my preferences, so I’m going to say that overall it was a good story. It’s just that the book felt longer than it should have been. And because of that, I felt like there were moments I was a bit bored with reading it because I felt like nothing was happening. I wanted to skip some things, but when I got to some specific parts I was into it and interested. So it went back and forth for me.

If you’re a fan of sports romances, Hollywood, baseball, and traveling, you’re going to need to add Stranded on Second to your tbr!
One of the things that stood out most to me about this book was all the amazing locations featured in the story. As someone who experiences wanderlust, I couldn’t get enough of the tropical and romantic islands of Belize, the baseball fields of Tampa Bay, the beachside condos of L.A., and the gorgeous sunsets of Nashville. In short, Stranded on Second fed my travel bug and I’m here for it! 🥳
I also couldn’t get enough of Ivory and Preston’s love story. Forced proximity is one of my favorite tropes, so I was understandably excited that it featured so prominently in the book. This coupled with the delicious slow burn of their romance really ratcheted up the tension between these two. I couldn’t stop turning pages waiting for their spark to ignite. 😍
Finally, you all know that I’m trash for interconnected standalones 🥳! In the end notes of the book, author T. Leigh Turner wrote that Stranded on Second is the first book in the Music City Troubadours series! I can’t wait to get future glimpses of Ivory and Preston as well as discover Taylor, Gabby, and Miller’s stories! 🎉
In the pages, you will find:
🏝️ The tropical country of Belize ❤️ Romance ⚾️ Baseball 🪢 Forced Proximity 🌶️ Spice 💪 Strong/supportive female friendships 🤝 An epic bromance 🏃♀️ Chasing your dreams 📖 The first book in a series!
This book!! I can't believe this is a debut because it is fabulous! I love how the beginning of the book is a separate intro for each MC and it's dual POV so we get to see both sides of the build up to the story. It is set in 2020 with Covid. Ivory is an actress who has been in the business since childhood. Her project gets cancelled due to Covid restrictions so her best friend convinces her to take a quick trip to Belize for vacation. Preston is a pro baseball player who didn't get to relax over the off season due to family health issues. His best friend also convinces him to take a quick trip to Belize to relax because they can't practice together with Covid. As Covid becomes more widespread, the airlines shut down and they can't leave. They end up being the only ones in the resort and the story follows their journey of being stuck on the island together for what ends up being a few months. I absolutely adored the story and I was so impressed with the way the author handled the forced proximity. The MCs got to know each other and built a great friendship before they acted on any of their physical attraction and that was so refreshing. Preston is an incredible MMC who respects and cares for Ivory so very well. It took Ivory longer to believe in her feelings and act on them and Preston is not pushy with her at all. So very impressive and so many green flags. The ending was tough but no third act break up made it so worth it. And the set up for future books with these characters is perfection. All around incredible debut book that will lead to so much more goodness!!
I recently had the delightful opportunity to be an ARC reader for “Stranded on Second” by T. Leigh Turner, and I must say, it was an enchanting experience.
The story kindled a hint of jealousy in me towards Ivory, the protagonist, for being so deeply adored by Preston. From the moment Preston laid eyes on her, he seemed utterly captivated by the beauty of Hollywood’s sweetheart, Ivory. Their unexpected companionship during the pandemic, forcing them to be stuck together, only deepened their connection, allowing them to truly get to know each other. While I completely understand Ivory’s fears and reservations, I can’t help but think that if I were in her shoes, a week with Preston might just have been too much for my resolve, haha!
The slow burn of their relationship was absolutely worth the wait. Once they started getting closer, my heart couldn’t stop racing. Preston is the epitome of a dream partner, and it feels like praising him could never do justice to his character.
In summary, “Stranded on Second” is a beautifully written romance that captures the essence of unexpected love and the beauty of getting to know someone deeply under the most unforeseen circumstances. T. Leigh Turner has masterfully woven a tale that not only tugs at the heartstrings but also fills you with warmth and longing for a love as profound as Ivory and Preston’s.
FIRSTLY TIFFANY I AM SOOOOOO PROUD OF YOU BESTIE!!!!!
What an amazing book you have written for your debut novel! YOU NAILED IT!!!!
I have never read a romance based on the timeline of the pandemic but it was so beautifully written!
I think 2024 is honestly going to be my baseball romance era!!
PRESTON FIELDS!!!!! THIS MAN!! HE IS ONE HOT BASEBALL PLAYER!!! I honestly cannot deal with him!!! He was just so thoughtful, kind, crazy. AND HIS MOUTH!! OMG!!!
I thought Ivory was PERFECT FOR HIM!!! Who knew Ivory would be stranded on a tropical island during a pandemic with a baseball player from the team her dad coaches.
Ivory wasn't really herself living in LA but I am glad time and space away from that environement helped her reevaluate what she wants to do.
I loved that Preston was able to see the real "Ives" and help her bring those walls down.
Overall, I think Tiffany has done such an amazing job with this book and I am soooo excited to read more from her!! **AHEM MILLER AND GABBY PLEASE AND THANK YOU** hehe
This was meant to be a BETA read but its more an arc review. Thank you Tiff for trusting me with your baby. This review is my own honest opinion on the book :)
A sizzling slow burn that I ate up! I fell in love with Ivory and Preston so quick. Both of their lives were impacted by the pandemic in early 2020, Ivory as an aspiring writer and director in Hollywood, and Preston’s baseball team’s spring training. They each end up in Belize for a quick getaway, not knowing they will be there for months.
These two had the best chemistry and banter. I loved their journey and love story. Preston was so attentive, caring, and just an all around sweetheart. He always wanted to make sure Ivory was okay with things, but he definitely had a dominant side in bed. Ivory was pretty down to earth for being a Hollywood actress, and was a dreamer. I loved watching her grow into herself and figure out what she wanted.
This book was excellently written. I enjoyed every moment, and it put me right back in 2020 and all the uncertainty everyone felt and not knowing what was coming. I was so excited for Ivory and Preston getting their happy ending and can’t wait for more from this series.
Thanks to T. Leigh Turner and Wordsmith Publicity for the ARC of this book.

I’ve been following Leigh on IG for a while now and have been waiting for this book! I was ecstatic when I was chosen for an ARC! I will try my best not to do any spoilers but oh my did this book make me kick my feet and squeal!
Preston is the MMC cinnamon rolls of all MMC cinnamon rolls, the most supportive male character I’ve ever read! Like GAH !!! He falls first and just waits for her to be ready. He shows in so many ways that he doesn’t want her for her Hollywood persona but for her the real Ivory without all the fame and fortune. Honestly his utter devotion to her and all that she stands for is so incredibly sexy. I fell in love with the way he fell in love and showed it. Preston stole the show for me, his character was everything you’d want in a cinnamon roll boyfriend.
The Slow burn was SLOW but oh so worth it! The tension these two had was sizzling, and once it picks up, you’ll keep saying “just one more chapter”! I also love how the friendship between the MC and their friends were written, the realness and supportiveness each friend group gave was so relatable.
What a knockout debut novel!! 100% recommend you read this book!
This was the first book (or actually any media) that incorporated the pandemic that I willingly picked up and enjoyed. I'm not necessarily triggered by covid/the pandemic, but I think about what my life was like here in NY was March in 2020 and it was filled with fear of the unknown and anxiety. Besides being the catalyst as to why these Preston and Ivory are stuck together, the pandemic is not really a huge part of the story. There are mentions of things shutting down, mask requirements and social distancing, but it is not explored to the point where the reader feels anxious or scared. No characters get COVID. Preston's dad is vulnerable so there are a few mentions of being worried about him, but again it's all just mentioned in passing.
Ivory was such a great FMC. The author did a great job developing her character from an insecure former child star who was in very little control of her life to becoming a strong, independent woman who was able to go after what and who she wanted. I was literally cheering Ivory on every time she was able to give Preston back the love that he gave her so easily. And yeah, Preston is basically book boyfriend gold. He falls first and hard which is one of my favorite tropes. But he also really sees Ivory for who she is and lets her come around to things on her own terms. Together, they had a very sweet and spicy romance that is basically perfect.
I have one little thing I'm mad at Preston for - he does a thing (a very lovely thing) near the end of the book and doesn't tell Ivory about. That kinda bothered me. They had just spent the last 25% of the book talking about how they were a team, but then he kept information from her. I wish he had just told her.
All in all, this book is really freakin' good. I loved the story and the characters. The writing was so good, I can't believe this is a debut. I will definitely be checking out more from T. Leigh Turner.

Stranded on Second is the first book I have read by T. Leigh Turner, and I really enjoyed this book. This book is a slow-burn contemporary sports romance with a little forced proximity and a few curve balls thrown in. I enjoyed the storyline from the start; it was original and heartwarming, with a little drama and angst thrown in to keep me turning the pages to see what would happen next. The characters were complex and had an instant chemistry that grew and blossomed into something beautiful. I could not put this book down; the adventures they went on and facing a few uphill battles together was exciting and thrilling to read.
This book was a story of love, determination, and devotion between two people who grew and nurtured their relationship and never gave up on what they each wanted. I laughed at their banter, cried at a few places that broke my heart or touched my heart, and fist-pumped a few times. This book was an adventurous and heartwarming book. I can't wait to dive into her other books. 4.5 stars-By Brooke

Preston is such a perfect book boyfriend!!
Preston meets Ivy when, at the beginning of the 2020 pandemic, they both decide to travel to Belize for a few days. Not realizing just how bad things would get, they decided to each take a few days to get away and recharge. Well those few days turn into 3 months of being stuck in a foreign country with each other and no way home. This book is the definition of forced proximity and I am here for it!!
Preston plays Major League Baseball (Ivory’s Dad is actually his coach!) and Ivory is an actor. Preston is so sweet and supportive of Ivory, I loved how he encouraged her throughout the book. He truly is her biggest fan.
When pandemic measures start to ease and they return from their time in Belize, will their relationship last? Read Stranded on Second to find out!!!

Firstly, just let me say this is an amazing debut from this author and is definitely a name to look out for in the future! This is Preston and Ivory’s story. Ivory is Hollywood’s sweetheart, while Preston is a profession baseball player. When the pandemic hits, Ivory’s friend convince her to take a little break and she heads to Belize, while Preston’s friends did the same with him. A much needed break end up with Ivory and Preston both stranded for 3-months, only for them to discover that Preston’s coach is Ivory’s dad. This is a well written slow burn story of self-discovery, with emotions, adventure, family, friendships, action, undeniable chemistry, humor, devotion, tension, and love, which leads to an entertaining and compelling page turner, I look forward to reading more from this author whose work I recommend.
