Basic objects in a child's world -- playthings, clothing, food, and animals -- are featured in this generiously-sized, bright, colorful book. The one-word-per-page format is perfect for keeping baby's attention and teaching them to start identifying words with images. Taback's illustrations are sure to delight young children -- from baby, to toddler, to preschooler -- and adults.
Simms Taback was an American writer, graphic artist, and illustrator of more than 35 books. He won the 2000 Caldecott Medal for U.S. picture book illustration, recognizing Joseph Had a Little Overcoat, and was a runner-up in 1998 for There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly.
The concept of this book is simple: pictures accompanied by words, intended to teach children how to identify everyday things like clothes that they wear, toys they play with, foods they might eat, and animals (not necessarily just those they might see). Serves its purpose and not much else.
A simple picture book concept with each page containing an illustration and the word for it. The illustrations are bright and fun and the generality of the words covered makes this a good, basic word-picture book for babies and toddlers.
Pojulla oli kivaa katsella ja osoitella kuvia. Yksinkertaisia kuvia joista varmaan pian alkaa jo tunnistaakin hahmoja. (toukokuu 2016) Ja nyt osasi jo ainakin puolet sanoista (joulukuu 2016) Tämän joutuu näemmä lainaamaan joka kerta kun käydään kirjastossa (tammikuu 2017)
