Sophie felt like she was written in 2014. She hates salads and loves pasta. She wears t-shirts with punny slogans like she’s 12. She has the “body of an eight old🤮” (we get it she’s a delicate teeny tiny woman)
And she wears sneakers with everything. Including her fucking wedding dress. Sophie is the “not like other girls” final boss! The mascot if you will.

I honestly enjoyed this book a lot but it was very slow for my liking and kind of did get me into a minor slump if I am being honest. Lauren's writing here was spectacular, so easy to read and entertaining and the way she focused on the romance more through the first 70% and then switched to f1 was really well done. I appreciate that she actually took time to do some research about it because otherwise I honestly would have rioted.
The characters Liam and Sophie were an absolute joy to read because Liam is a Brandon Sanderson fan, flirty, cocky and so much fun to be around. I honestly found myself liking his chapters a lot. The dialogues and his humor was really fun to read and Sophie was witty and charismatic too, although I was annoyed by her at times, her reactions were justified so I was okay with her.
The romance was so hot and sizzling! I mean- of course it would be as there was a naughty bucket list involved. Though I really enjoyed the bucket list scenes and for a thing that was actually a main part of the book...I found it loosing its charm as we went through the book but that does not negate how well written there relationship was and how much I enjoyed their chemistry and their banter. Truth be told I was anticipating their book as soon as I met them.
All in all, I really enjoyed it! it was spicy and fun to read but the only issue I had was the pacing which made me drop it to a three and I am pretty sure because of that I wont reread it ever.

Ended up having a better time than I expected. A F1 romance with good girl x bad boy vibes and friends to lovers is something one will surely enjoy. Pair it with juicy spice and you got yourself the full package 👀
The prologue was so awesome. The beginning dull but the middle was EVERYTHING I wanted- flirting, banter, cutesy moments, and a good plot. The ending was kind of rushed imo as the third act drama deserved to be resolved properly. The man went from being confused to proposing within a few pages and that didn't sit well with me- why was why it wasn't a perfect read for me. The "naughty list" was a storyline I had a lot of fun with.
Liam and Sophie had such explosive chemistry. I loved reading their adorable moments, their sexy moments and their story which had a fair bit of drama towards the end. Guys when I tell you, Lauren Asher can write good smut, believe you me 🤌
Before reading, I was fully expecting Liam to frustrate me. It didn't happen and boy, am I glad. Liam won me over. There was a lot of depth to him, despite his cocky side. Also, the mouth on that man 🥵🫦 *fans self* I loved getting to know him. I liked that he read books and always made Sophie comfortable, helped her with the naughty list.
Sophie was adorable. I liked that she had a kinky side to her underneath her innocent demeanour. While she was good, I believe she got overshadowed by Liam and his storyline. I know it's a F1 romance and the focus will be a tad more on the racer, but she didn't really have much happening with her except romancing the guy.
Anyway, I still have no opinions on Jax. Hopefully his book will live up too.

a quarter star
i am absolutely traumatised, this is quite possibly the worst book i have ever read. unless the other books in this series are somehow worse than this, i don't think it can be outdone in its terribleness.
i don't even know where to begin because it did take me a month and a half to read this book and it's just so wildly forgettable.
this book had zero redeeming qualities. for starters, the main characters, sophie and liam were absolutely unbearable. of course liam was a super ripped blue-eyed man. if that doesn't tell you everything you need to know about that man, i don't know what will.
one thing that REALLY REALLY REALLY bothered me was sophie's dedication to being special and different. did you know that she's not like the others? well, she isn't. she may be a girl (forgive me for saying that word) but you know what? she doesn't eat salad. she cannot stand salad. SHE IS METAPHORICALLY ALLERGIC TO SALAD. but you know what she does eat? PASTA. who is sophie if not just a bunch of chewed up pasta walking around in some skin? she is pasta, pasta is her. pasta is her life. so don't even try to think that sophie will eat salad (forgive me for saying such forbidden words) because pasta exists. and when there is pasta, she has eyes for nothing else because just like sophie, pasta is quirky and unhealthy.
and you will NEVER EVER EVER see sophie set foot in a gym. because she's just too different for that. who cares about being healthy when you can be different?
"The same one with a personal movie theater, an arcade room, a gym I never step foot in, and a custom art room Liam set up for me."
sophie also LOVES graphic tees. she only wears graphic tees because they are so cool and funny. it's her personality trait at this point, so if you wear funny, cute, hilarious graphic tees, you are unoriginal, you can never be sophie (walking pasta). i was eyeing a 'fries before guys' shirt the other day,,, maybe sophie will have it in her vast collection of witty, humorous, intelligent, sarcastic graphic tees.
and if you're still not convinced that sophie is different and special,,, then you need to hear this:
sophie.. (prepare yourself for this groundbreaking piece of information)... wears... (are you sure you're ready?)... sneakers underneath her dresses 🤕🤕😧😧😧❗❗❗
you read that right.. she wears sneakers,,, UNDERNEATH HER DRESSES!!!!!*@&^#&*%#@

and if you didn't believe the unbelievable sneaker revelation,,, here is proof (from darling liam's pov!!!):
She (sophie) laughs as she pulls up the hem of her long gown to reveal a pair of white leather sneakers with embroidered stars. Fuck me. While all the women inside limp from too-tight shoes, she wears comfortable sneakers hidden from the world. And for the first time, I don’t prefer fuck-me heels. I want a pair of tan legs and silver starred sneakers wrapped around my waist instead.
and this wonderful paragraph allows me to give you a glimpse into the simpleton mind of hunky man liam. he disgusts me. the book starts off with him simping over his dead sister-in-law. i wish i were lying but i'm not, he called her a 'hot, quiet girl'. as you might have already guessed, liam has always had an exquisite taste in special and different girls. he just got carried away with his fuckboy ways in the middle there, but his heart has always belonged to girls who wear sneakers under their dresses and eat pasta all day while wearing a graphic tee that says 'eat pasta, run fasta'.
he is obviously always horny because how can it be a book in the dirty air series if we don't have a man who isn't always thinking sexual thoughts. liam's pov was such a delight to read!!! i loved, and i mean ABSOLUTELY LOVED reading about how much he loved looking at sophie in some silky dress (and sneakers ofc) with the neckline dipping to give him a view of things he wanted to lick. no no it was so delightful, if this is a woman writing a man, i can only imagine how much better actual men are. i would narrate more of liam's groundbreaking thoughts but no one describes it like the man himself.
"I don’t race in F1 for the drama. No, I race for trophies, titles, and titties."
ahahah that isn't totally disgusting and dehumanising,,, we love to see it liam 😊😊😊
"Sophie is no longer an eighteen-year-old I met three years ago. Legal enough to drink and legal enough to fuck—and yes, I’d like to fuck. One look at her gains my interest, my dick twitching against the zipper of my pants."

there are worse examples but i am quite done reading through liam's pov for disgusting stuff he has said. he also said something about how hOt cHicKs like sophie make it difficult to work out in the gym when they're looking so hOt and tAstY.
liam was so annoying. he threw a whole hissy fit over how his sister-in-law died and that ruined his perception of love which is why he couldn't love anyone which is just the worst excuse i have heard. he made such a big deal over her death, i mean, even his brother reconciled himself to the fact that she was dead, but NOOOO liam just needs to be sad and miserable and broken doesn't he? it didn't even make sense because he'd just start being extremely overdramatic and he never made it past the 2nd stage of grief because he needs to be a troubled bad boy because GOD FORBID ONE OF THE PEOPLE IN THESE SHITTY ROMANCE BOOKS NOT HAVE SOME UNNECESSARY, BADLY WRITTEN PAST TRAUMA.
the part where sophie confesses her love to liam was quite something.
1. why would anyone love liam?
2. his reaction was, "wtf bro why do you wanna mess everything up with love?"
3. it was very odd
4. noah and maya were in the scene which made it worse than it already was
5. here are liam's exact words: "I don’t know why you’re ending our friendship. Just get over your feelings and let’s go back to normal."
JUST GET OVER YOUR FEELINGS. no liam i totally get you, why would she want to end your friendship after confessing she loves you and then you say that you just want to have sex? it's what i hope to hear if i ever fall in love. honestly, liam, setting the bar TOOOO high here, my guy.
and then i have to read endless chapters about sophie moping about how liam doesn't love her. even though personally i feel that she dodged a bullet. and liam's pov is even more invigorating and beautifully written as he anguishes over whether to choose a LOT of money or pasta girl. then OF COURSE he finds out that he has other options and that his agent was being a 'con man'. because OF COURSE he will still get a LOT of money. so in the end he gets the girl and the money.
lauren asher's weak attempt at the will they/won't they romance was terrible and i have to say that chuck and blair did it way better. liam and sophie can just eat pasta and wear sneakers with formal clothing.
speaking of clothing, theirs was terrible.
Sophie barrels into the pit garage, rocking a beers not tears shirt with ripped jeans and Nikes.
We finish getting ready for the night. I choose ripped jeans, a slogan T-shirt I knot at the bottom to look cute, and a pair of booties. The outfit is a nod to my inner rock star.
Sophie stuns me, truly one of the most natural beauties I’ve encountered, not caring about much makeup or dressing up in seductive outfits to gain attention. She doesn’t have a single fuck to give, with slogan tees becoming her uniform.

there's nothing about liam because of course the main focus is how horny he is. but moving on, i have to dedicate a special section to terrible descriptions of eyes. i don't know how i made it this far without mentioning that sophie has green eyes because i was certainly not allowed to forget.
"Her green eyes widen in recognition, the two spheres reminding me of the rich forests surrounding my home in Germany."
and liam's beautiful blue eyes of course,,,

i mean, i can't believe she's studying??? what is this??? high school??? i can't believe she has the nerve to do all of these things in college. i am absolutely disgusted, when i graduate from high school TRUST ME i will not be doing any of these scandalous things sophie is doing (or should i say not doing?). I AM ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED at how she can have this strange college experience when she should be having a normal one full of drugs, alcohol, skipping ALL of her classes, NEVER setting foot into her dorm, having sex every 2 hours...
"I’m not going to get eaten alive out in the real world. You raised me better than that. If I survived an all-girls school and three years at uni, I think I can make it out there."
as someone who spent several years in an all-girls school, as long as you manage interact with people other than girls in your everyday life, you really aren't that disconnected from reality. it isn't that bad. and most girls are nice. they're not there to gossip about you and rip your face off, they're just there because it's school?? life isn't an american tv show set in a private school written by someone who hasn't ever been to one.

and then i have to read endless chapters about sophie moping about how liam doesn't love her. even though personally i feel that she dodged a bullet. and liam's pov is even more invigorating and beautifully written as he anguishes over whether to choose a LOT of money or pasta girl. then OF COURSE he finds out that he has other options and that his agent was being a 'con man'. because OF COURSE he will still get a LOT of money. so in the end he gets the girl and the money.
lauren asher's weak attempt at the will they/won't they romance was terrible and i have to say that chuck and blair did it way better. liam and sophie can just eat pasta and wear sneakers with formal clothing.
speaking of clothing, theirs was terrible.

We finish getting ready for the night. I choose ripped jeans, a slogan T-shirt I knot at the bottom to look cute, and a pair of booties. The outfit is a nod to my inner rock star.
Sophie stuns me, truly one of the most natural beauties I’ve encountered, not caring about much makeup or dressing up in seductive outfits to gain attention. She doesn’t have a single fuck to give, with slogan tees becoming her uniform.

Nooooo the first one was so good what happened. Did I just read like 500 pages of a girl begging her guy best friend to show any sign that he cares about her whatsoever while he tells her "I can't do that because I hate feelings but I really want to fuck you" and then when she's like "you've broken my heart" he's like "no don't say that I told you I wasn't going to fall in love with you so that's on you. you're still going to fuck me right"? Yes, yes I did. And to top it all off he barely had to apologize because even if he wouldn't tell her he loved her for like 95% of the book the side characters all told her he does, which like, apparently counts just as well 🤷♂️ Ugh I was just looking to read a cute romance for some escapism during finals, but like what's the point of reading about fictional men written by women if they just act like normal irl fuckboys 😭

Ugh, let's see, I try to like this author books, I swear I do, but Lauren Asher intends with every book she writes to make me hate her more. This book has two stars for the following reasons, the smut was hot and the formula 1 moments.
I didn't have high expectations because many people had told me that this is the worst in the series, and it still managed to disappoint me. Taking into account the tropes in the book, friends with benefits, slutty lists, etc., I had every chance to at least entertain myself. But it wasn't like that, I'm sorry.
This time the main characters are Liam Zander, a successful F1 driver, but with a bad reputation for playing with women (HOW NEW! I know bitch, I know you are shocked), and Sophie Mitchells, the daughter of the boss of Liam's rival team. They start off as friends (a lie because the first time they see each other they already want to take off each others clothes, there is no friendship at all, just mutual desire), Liam discovers that Sophie has a list of mostly spicy things she would like to do during her year and decides to help her.
'But remember this. I want to get to know all of you, including the parts you’re too scared to share. I want to learn about the man no one else knows. So give me every part of you because I’m not here to piece you back together. I like you too much, just the way you are, broken parts and all.'
I'm not going to talk about them individually, simply say that they are clichés on a pair of legs, one is a textbook fuckboy, who for reasons from the past does not believe in love so he dedicates himself to going from girl to girl, and she is the classic “im not like the other girls”, because Sophie doesn't like salad, only pasta, Sophie doesn't like heels and only wears sneakers, even at her wedding!!!! WOOOOW SO CRAZY!! HOW DO THE POLICE NOT INTERVENE HERE??
It is true that he is not as insta-love as Noah and Maya, but I still see that it simply took them so long to give in because they were denying their tension, but that they already knew from the beginning that they wanted to fuck like rabbits.
'I researched all about stars. And the funny thing was how I thought you were my star—a bright spot in my life keeping me constant company no matter how dark everything else got. But in reality, we're stars because they are born in pairs. They're created by a big fucking boom of dust and shit, forming into something beautiful and eternal. You're stuck with me for life because we're a duo'
The third act break up was simply ridiculous,and super convenient how the solution to the problem magically appears. Anyway, I did like the smut! I think the characters had a lot of chemistry in that aspect, but it wasn't enough to make me like the book. Another detail that I did like is that Liam read books.

This was a sports romance, so let's talk about the sports part, When I read the first book I didn't know I was going to enjoy the sports scenes so much, but contrary to the first book, I missed them, I wanted MORE, and the main reason why I continue with the saga is the F1 content. The sport is a big and main part of the book, with scenes dedicated to it and the entire book revolving around the F1 season. So if you don't like reading specific sports scenes, this is not a series for you.
I really wish I could say more, but I finished it yesterday and I already forgot half of the details lol.

This was cute, and I enjoyed it more than 'Throttled.' There were fewer cringe and cheesy moments, and the writing overall improved. If you like racing and enjoy a good bucket list, then you will enjoy this.
Collided is the second book in the Dirty Air series and is a friends to friends with benefits to lovers, bad boy/good girl, F1 racing romance that was filled with witty banter, lust and sexual tension Aside from the moment in the first chapter that had my heart breaking and left me crying, this had me literally smiling and laughing out loud.
Sophie Mitchell is the daughter of one of F1s principles and is attending university. One night after having another bad hookup that left her unsatisfied and wanting more she decides that she needs more fun in her life while drinking a bottle of wine, she comes up with a 'Fuck It' list consisting of adventures and naughty things. Now, she just needs to convince her dad to allow her to come visit for the season. He obliges as long as she agrees to his set of rules. The number one rule is to stay away from the racers. The first gala she attends of the season she is met by none other than Liam Zander a driver for McCoy, her dads rival team and Sophie is no longer the girl he met three years ago at a princess party piquing his interest. Liam discovers her list and offers to help her check the items off, he even adds go on a date with a bad boy after he wins a bet they made, except Sophie wants to just be friends and he reluctantly agrees. They both pushed and pulled against the line of their friendship for many months, teetering on the edge of it. But will she give in to their chemistry and let him know her feelings for him? And will he be able to set aside his fears of love and give her what she craves with him?
Seeing more of Maya and Noah was truly a highlight. I loved the friendship that Sophie and Maya built and especially loved when Noah was giving Liam relationship advice (talk about swooning). We don't see too much of Jax, but he pulled at my heartstrings when he offered up some advice to Liam.

Liam and Sophie had a chemistry that was unquestionable. I absolutely loved their friendship and watching it bud into something more. I adored the dates that Liam planned for her while helping her check off her list (my favorites were that he took her skydiving and to see the stars). The one thing that annoyed me most was how Sophie would rather be miserable and make her dad happy rather than doing what makes her happy. Liam helped her with that by encouraging her to chase and persue her dreams while Sophie was the person who could get Liam to open up about his fears helping him to overcome them and to understand that its okay to grieve.
I could have done without the third act breakup as it was unnecessary and could have been prevented if they had just communicated about the deal that was looming overhead and how they were each feeling. I fell in love with the epilogue because it was the sweetest and had me feeling butterflies and swooning with them. I enjoyed this and am excited to find out what's to come with Jax next.

i almost threw this book out the window when Liam called the lower half of his body his “no no square” but i stuck it out and i can’t say it was worth it. the age gap isn’t a big deal here but they never stop mentioning it, Liam wanting to teach Sophie and be her first for so many things started to make me side eye him.. lowkey kinda creepy. the insta lust was completely out of control, with the dialogue being so embarrassing i couldn’t believe these two were in their 20s. the only depth Liam had was with his grief over losing his best friend (who’s also his brothers wife), other than that there wasn’t much to him. Sophie is beyond immature and i never bought into their connection. i was gonna give this a 1 star but the groveling at the end was sort of cute, so ill be nice and give it a 2 instead. i also was surprised by the lack of f1 content, Liam’s job is more of a background addition to make room for the corny romance. im really hoping the next 2 books are better.

Anyway, I cried at both Sophie's and Liam's backstory. Because I mean if Lauren Asher knows what to do it's absolutely devastate you in the prologue and you do not know what hit you and this is another example so yay more tissues!!
And finally, this might be cute and bubbly, but Liam Zander my god. His obsession, his dirty talk, the absolute way I ran through multiple F1 drivers in my mind I swear to you!

I absolutely adored this book so much. Liam and Sophie were so fun and adventurous which made the plot so great. Their dynamic was everything and the tension they had was immaculate.
I love a good friends to lovers story and this book made me so giddy because of all the things Liam would say to Sophie. I was smiling so hard my cheeks were hurting.
Overall just amazing vibes. These characters are just so lovable and I love this series with all my heart.

and the series continues to be a dud.
Truthfully, it's just disappointing because as I stated in my Throttled review, this series has a lot of hype and really only good things being said about it. If F1 racers are really like this in the three-dimensional world and not just in this fictional one—count me out.
Liam and Sophie to me had more of a connection than Maya and Noah. Their story also felt a little more intimate and emotional compared to the predecessor book, yet it still made my skin crawl and didn't give enough. Liam's inner dialogue was truly disturbing. This was one of the same points I made in the last book. Always about sex and I am all for one for smutty reads. GIVE THEM TO ME. This just was all portrayed and delivered very gag-worthy.
Now, one of my biggest problems which also goes towards Throttled is the trauma angle. The author gave Liam a traumatic experience that hindered him and created some of his bad characteristics and so on. Yet... for such a big point they made around it, it truly wasn't touched on very much or discussed nearly enough to make it seem important to the story to me. Traumatic stuff, if being added to a book, shouldn't take a back seat. It's like it was added for shits and giggles just because it was completely disregarded for almost the entirety of the book. Just doesn't sit well with me.

I researched all about stars. And the funny thing was how i thought you were my star-a bright spot in my life keeping me constant company no matter how dark everything else got .But in reality, we are stars because they are born in pairs.

So glad i wasn't Sophie cuz I'd have folded on his first attempt. thu, she held the ground on his constant attempts, which was basically every damn encounter.😭🤌
Plot wise it was better thought through than the first one in the series!!she also gave us a glimpse to noah's and maya's story which was needed and she mentioned them again in the epilogue?!that'd be a spoiler so imma shut up now😭

I can not express how much I loved this book. From the very first page till the very last I was so fucking engrossed. LIAM AND SOPHIE are officially part of my top ten 2020 couples.
The book first starts of with Liam and Sophie meeting for the first time, sparks fly instantly but sadly nothing happens.... Until a few years later
Now between those years Liam had faced a devastating tragedy due to which he swore off relationships or more specifically getting close to any female. He fucked around without any commitments until he ended up with the wrong woman in bed, which led him into a huge scandal, and his career with Mccoy on the line. Now to clean his image he has decided to stop sleeping around until the world championship is over and his contract gets renewed.
2 months into his celibacy he meets Sophie again and you can literally feel their connection. He tries to stay clear of her because he can’t get caught hooking up with the rivals daughter but completely fails once he see’s Sophie’s “fuck it list”. He was determined that she would cross off every dirty thing from the list with him.
Sophie had been overly protected by her father all her life and decides to have a little fun during her summer break from collage and creates a fuck it list of things she hasn’t done before. And the list omg was so fucking hot. Like come on “foreplay with ice” I was waiting for that scene so eagerly 😂😂
Anyway Liam actually gets rejected by Sophie so many times, she even friend zoned him. But Liam kept on trying and flirting with her, which led to a hot phone sex moment to Liam finally convincing Sophie and becoming friends with benefits.
But we all know how two hot people with explosive chemistry can never just stay friends. If Sophie wants more will Liam be able to open up to the idea of loving her?
Also the girls in this series they don’t forgive easily. I just love their responses. Always on point.

So basically the whole story was based on a bucket list and I was invested in the story from the very first page. I didn't loved the story or the characters but this book was enjoyable nonetheless. I enjoyed the 60% of the book so much because Sophie and Liam were friends and all the tension and lust made everything hot and all but the moment they give in to this sexual tension between them and became friends with benefits I kinda lost my interest in the story. I was enjoying it but not the way I loved their friendship.
The writing has improved in this one and it was less cringe and had vivid characters. The spice was hot and I can always count on Lauren for hot and delicious scenes ❤️🔥🤌🏻 But for me this book was so long considering it could be 50 to 80 pages less if all the unnecessary drama in the end didn't happen.

I loved him from the first moment and yes he is a manwhore and all but when Sophie came in picture he never laid his eyes on anyone but 'only her'. His inability to see that he is made for love frustrated me so much and I know he had his reasons but he was downright ignoring what he felt for Sophie and it took five persons to make him realise he is in love with his best friend.

But I hated how she never made her own decisions in her life when she clearly wasn't liking what her father made her study for. I loved how she helped Liam to get over his past and to sought out his feelings and grief.

Their realtionship started as friends to friends with benefits to lovers. It was quite an interesting transition but I liked their relationship progress. It was real and they both needed well more like Liam needed time to accept his fears about Love and everything. For months they were tip toeing around each other, playing mind games and all because Sophie was scared to give in to this attraction between them and Liam never wanted to involve any feelings between their friendship.
They both had undeniable chemistry, sparks and the tension between them was so hot and palpable ❤️🔥 half the time I just wanted them to give in to this lust just so they can stop this torture. I loved their friendship so much, their witty bantering and teasing, their cute little dates and how they both helped each other. I loved how he took Sophie to see the stars and took her to skydiving and many other dates. It was definitely one of the best moments of liamsophie. Liam helped Sophie to pursue her dreams and Sophie helped him to understand that its okay to grieve and have your fears until they eat you up alive. Liam needed someone who can helped him understand the meaning of love and family. Sophie was his person.
The ending was sweet and wholesome though I hated the third act breakup and it wasn't needed if Sophie just talked with Liam about that deal and cleared all their misunderstandings. I loved the epilogue it was so cute and everything and considering I don't really love HEA so it was perfect. All in all it was an amazing read and definitely worth a read if you are in a mood for a F1 book with a friends to lovers trope.

I absolutely loved this book, I enjoyed it much more than I enjoyed the first one even the first one is really good on its own. I think I really liked the tension and dynamic between Liam and Sophie a little more than I like to Noah and Maya’s tension. But all around I really enjoyed this book!

maybe it was because i couldn’t really relate to the characters or something wasn’t just sitting right?

GOD this book was boring.
And embarrassing.
And badly written.
And the characters were awful.
And the PLOT was awful.
I’m gonna be honest and admit couldn’t even finish this. I got to like 85% (by literally forcing myself), but when I started to feel the 🔆crawl🔆 of the misunderstanding trope I just gave tf up.
