Beyond the Binding is beyond words. The music that accompanies this book, a companion piece that you can also buy on Amazon - https://soundcloud.com/trailerscore/s... - the music is the inspiration for each of the writers. There is a musical accompaniment for each story!
The music of the Composers for Relief: Supporting the Philippines, is MAGICAL and the stories the music inspired - FABULOUS! This anthology was done for charity, but the authors (and yes I'm one of them) did not skimp on the creativity, the drama, or the love they shared through their stories.
The musicians who provided the music for this wonderful collaboration gave just as generously.

In this ultimate collaborative project, 28 writers from across the globe (I am proud to be one of them) have come together to create this wonderful collection of soul-stirring tales, each one inspired by a specific piece of music.
Hope is the theme woven throughout these stories.
They are entertaining and uplifting stories which revolve around darkness and light; determination and struggle; choices and obstacles; rebirth/revival...
Some of my favorites include a poignant tale of promise in which "the youth were deaf and the youth were blind"; an epic story focused on the survival of the human race in which "despair enveloped humanity like a shroud with only the solace of oblivion as a conceivable panacea"; magical stories in which "light blazed from the chest with the force of a million tiny suns" and "...captivated by what he saw, Flame pushed his light a little further and wrapped the girl in his warm glow."
The final story is very special - an artistic masterstroke!

This is a fabulous collaboration with so many wonderful writers. It was an awesome experience do this. The musical inspiration for each piece came from the album Composers for Relief.
I have a sister-in-law that lives in the Philippines so this was a personal for me.
Each piece is unique, but they all have the underlying theme of hope.
