The River-Defying Sect established itself in the Middle Reaches, and Bai Xiaochun lived up to his reputation by continuing to cause problems left and right. However, his antics were short-lived as the Starry Sky Dao Polarity Sect summoned Bai Xiaochun to serve as a formal hostage in their sect. Taking with him Xu Baocai, Big Fatty Zhang, Song Que, and Master God-Diviner as dao protectors, he yet again headed off into the unknown. Surely Bai Xiaochun wouldn't cause problems in the legendary Starry Sky Dao Polarity Sect, would he?
Gotta love subtle homophobia. I wish shame would come back because why does an author need to lean into homophobia and transphobia for a fantasy story, still eludes me.
Not just homophobic but also racist. In what world does this seem appropriate:
“His skin was so tan it was almost black, and from a distance, he almost looked like a monkey wearing human clothing.”
I’m so happy I didn’t spend money on this book. Very disappointing.
Another great read..I really mean it this character is funny as hell. The writing was great as always. The contrast with the characters two side bring this book together. If you get a chance read this..
