An excellent book. The great things about this book are:
Daniel Walter incorporates his own story brilliantly. He shows where he started from, the obstacles he faced, overcame, and (more importantly) stumbled on but kept going on his journey.
I see a lot of myself or people I know in the different people he describes. Some on their own journey to either sucess or destruction.
The reason I found these points important is that it is inspirational hearing Daniel's story. It gives a feeling of if he can do it, I can too, but it is emphasised over and over again, to fo it I have to put in the work. Nobody can do it for me, and nobody will.
The other point is that it shows me the people around me. Quite a mixed group, actually. From a psychological point of view, it is interesting, from a journey to a sucess point of view, it is a bit scary.
The book lays put the tools Daniel used himself and others used by other successful people. From mindsets to physical and personal life changes. The one constant is that the work needs to be done. Sometimes, that is the part nobody sees but is essential.
This is was a very complete and systematically articulated book. I think it gives good a good break down of how to improve yourself and is very easy to follow. Take tour time , its a good book to help sink in change.

In the process of finishing this read but I will still give my honest review thus far. I have the Kindle version of this book, and it's been splendid, making it even much easier to read. The book has a simple vocabulary that's easy to breeze through not having the reader searching for meanings at every word. Another factor I appreciated with this book is that the need-to-know “Do it now” nuggets are presented in bullet form, highlighted, and have short and precise explanations right after the major pointers.
The author’s writing style helps out with the reading too since it’s almost as though you’re having a pep-talk from Mr. Daniel Walter himself which brings forth a sense of belonging and that he’s out to help you get out of the rut of having to procrastinate or just not being the best version of yourself that you can be.
Thus far I have gotten into the book, I honestly don’t have a negative comment to bring forth or any form of criticism other than just pointing out what an easy, straightforward, and relatable read it surely is. You know sometimes you just want to have someone getting to the point real quick and telling you like it is. And this book gives you exactly that.

I was interested in this book because I thought it would help you with my procrastination issues. The book is full of great advice on how to become a person of action. The first chapter was all about self-awareness. The author gives a lot of information that is immediately actionable. He has a lot of tips that will help you become more self-aware. This is a great first chapter to introduce his writing and advice.
Chapter 2 is about the victim reality. He gives very helpful signs that you have a victim mentality. Walter gives examples of successful people so you can contrast the signs of someone with a victim mentality with people who refused to have that mentality. He gives you steps on how to beat the victim mentality. He offers steps such as forgiveness, meditation, self-discipline, taking responsibility, and others.
Chapter 3 is about how your transformation starts in the mind, how you can think and grow rich. He says what you put into your mind gives it energy. He explains how limiting beliefs are affecting you. Then he gives steps on how to overcome your limiting beliefs. He finishes the chapter by talking about how to think and grow rich. He also talks about having a positive attitude.
In Chapter 4, the author talks about the power of order. He explains how can have a negative effect on your health. He gives you tips on how to get decluttered. Next, he gives you tips on how to organize your home. It’s important once you get organized that you need to keep organized and decluttered. He gives you tips on how to do this well.
Chapter 5 is about goal setting with a purpose by writing a vision and making a plan. He gives you areas of your life to set goals. He uses the SMART goal system to make sure you can achieve the goals you set.
In chapter 6, he describes how to ditch your distractions and maintain your focus. He defines distractions and talks about what it will cost you. Walter also gives you some reason for distractions in the workplace or at home. He discusses ways you can eliminate distractions and be more productive every day.
Chapter 7 is about what a healthy work-life looks like. He says that a healthy work-life balance means that you have the energy to have a personal life and a work-life. According to the author, if you are going to succeed, you will have to sacrifice. Work and life can be one and the same when you enjoy doing what you do.
In Chapter 8, the author talks about motivation and how it is not enough. He defines motivation and talks about what affects your motivation. There are many factors in motivation whether they be internal or external. He tells you what to do when your motivation runs out. He has very helpful advice for the things we turn to that we think blue Star energy but actually make things worse. This was my favorite part of this chapter. I like some of the pointers he gives for how to become motivated.
Chapter 9 helps you develop self-discipline so you can make achieving your goals and lifestyle. He defines self-discipline and gives some of the benefits of self-discipline. He tells you how to develop self-discipline. He describes the benefits of the daily routine and how to create one.
Besides tapping into momentum and developing self-discipline, you need to create momentum to keep going. He talks about the power and benefits of consistency. He teaches you the skill of being consistent. Chapter 11 talks about the hard choice of losing friendships because you are trying to improve yourself. When your friends don’t understand your commitment to be successful, they will drag you down instead of pull you up. Your friends might turn on you when you devote yourself to success and they will misunderstand you. They may label you as crazy, small wins but that’s not necessarily bad.
Chapter 12 is about how to make success a lifestyle. To make success a lifestyle, you need to define success for you. Walter describes habits and how to change them. He gives you tips on the things you will need to change to change your habits and become successful. He next describes how to embrace discomfort in chapter 13. He explains why we are afraid to step out of our comfort zone. He then gives benefits for stepping out of our comfort zone. The most people part of the chapter for me was when he described how to embrace discomfort.
In chapter 14, the author discusses how to deal with disappointment. He says, “How you handle disappointment will determine your success.” I like when he describes how to deal with disappointment. He shows you how to accept the things you cannot change but to change what you can. Patients soft in the long run.
In the last chapter, Walter shows you how to celebrate your smile with and you take it one step at a time. He defines small wins and how to celebrate them. In the conclusion, he by challenging you to take action and do whatever you set out to do.
I come to this book as a Christian, so there were parts of the book that I disagreed with such as talking about “the universe” were using Eastern meditation techniques. But it can be a useful book in much of its principles and teaching. He covers a lot of advice for motivation, discipline, and other aspects of life most people do not understand or implement. If you want to become a person of action and be successful at what you put your hand to do, this book will help you achieve your goals.
*This was a tandem read with Power of Discipline. The books have a lot of overlap so I might be confusing some things that were said in each, and my reviews will be similar.
Disclaimer: If you enjoyed this book and it changed your life, I’m so happy for you! It’s incredible that you’re taking steps to better yourself! :) Also, maybe don’t read any further.
Now for my review:
Absolute DRIVEL. The author is a complete tosser (that should hurt his feelings worse because he’s British.) This book exemplifies toxic positivity/productivity in every sense of the phrase. Probably the most self-important person I’ve ever read. His main source is himself. Or his source is that he made it the fuck up. The only anecdotes I even remotely believed were the ones about cutting his friends out of his life, and how everyone called him crazy. The book is about how hard it was for him to write a book (and how he’s so great for doing that.) Someone should let him know that there are 14 year olds writing entire novels on AO3 that are far more entertaining, well-written, and emotionally provocative than this—and they’re doing it at a faster pace without making a huge fuss. This one is worse than the Power of Discipline—there were at least a handful of useful sentences in that one, as far and few between as they were. If I were on a deserted island with no entertainment, I’d choose to eat the pages and poop them out instead of read this again.
After getting into the meat of the book, the book took on real life and form. It could very easily be used as a published journaling project for individuals to do on their own or for therapy groups as well. I believe a workbook format is actually a much better format for the publication of this book, actually. The comparison and contrast between growth mindsets and fixed mindsets, finding direction without giving to much traction to what people think or say of you, etc., was all very good feedback. Other than Daniel Walter, the author, mentioning that he understands his advice to be life-changing because he has used it to become a best selling author, however, there is no distinct or concise examples of how Mr. Walter's own advice has impacted his own life. I also found that the book lacked a specific, measurable action plan early on that the readers good gauge their results for taking the author's advice. This would have given more credence to the book. I did enjoy the author helping the audience walk through instances in their lives that have brought them happiness and using these experiences to help the audience outline their ten top ideals to live by. I can see that the author has experience with Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, or DBT.

This book exceeded my expectations, I've read a lot of self help books, however, the authors knowledge and sincerity really through. The author goes beyond speaking in mere platitudes, and creates a much deeper 'how to' approach. The layout of the book is also well done. Unlike a bunch of dry run-on paragraphs, this book is broken out into 15 concise chapters that in my opinion, the reader can jump just about any where. Chapter 4 was especially close to my heart, as it talks about getting your house organized...AKA. Clutter. While my house isn't exactly Hoarders, I continue to work on my house to get to a greater level of organized. And the author adeptly explains the impact clutter can have on one's mental & emotional health and also lays out strategic plan on how to conquer it. I could go on about how great this book is, however, even if did not receive a free copy for review, I would have no regrets having purchased it. I look forward to following this author and also reading other books he has published. Definitely a book worth reading more than once.

This dude is out to lunch. I struggled before I even hit chapter two. I’m sure some can relate to what he is saying but it was far fetched for me. I skipped through chapter two and continued with the following chapter (I think? Whenever he talks about organization). What sealed the deal for me was when he talked about how clutter causes depression, and while this is a catch 22 situation the way he explains it - absolutely not. He talks about how his friend was depressed and he went to his house which was “disgusting” and that obviously, that is why he was depressed. OR his friends depression caused the messy home because he had no energy or motivation to clean and was just trying to survive… This author has no idea about mental health and needs to probably leave the subject alone. Just brutal.
I think I had read a library full of self help, get rich, power of positive thinking and organization books. I could have skipped those and read this one. The Power of Action reviews how to get organize, how to purge, how do plan a daily activity and most of all, how to commit. The difference was The Power of Action provides a clear outline of what you need to do to take possession of your life and do what you were meant to do. The part that I loved was his information on forgiveness and knowing the people around you. I felt his quotes on learning to move past someone's past actions was the most powerful part of his book.

I found this book very helpful and I will refer to this guide for many years to come. I liked the straight-to-the-point explanations, references, and resources. The most helpful part is when he suggests call-to-action steps breakdowns. The author connected many success concepts and offered his suggestions for making it work for yourself in a customized way, emphasizing everyone's differences. These are the bones for the recipe for success. Although there are personal narratives in the book, I did wish for more. A great overall reference manual for success. I especially loved the reel-it-in method to handle distractions.

This is another great book by Daniel Walter, and it came in a stage in my life, where I am seeking change, it is a very inspiring and motivating book and I recommend it to anyone looking to become better in every aspect of their lives. This book helped me tremendously understanding how I have been limiting myself in the past to become the best version of me and what to do about it. He explains everything in a nice clear manner, and also gives a lot of examples, you understand why you behave the way you do. This book will definitely help you grow, if you are willing to put in the work related in this book.
Essential reading .. for those who struggle with procrastination. The author talks from experience and talks to you. He offers pearls of wisdom, ways to make things happen, how to change the mindset and a wealth of resources including a facebook account and access to some freebie resources.
The explanations are simple, concise and as long as you have a notebook to hand, very easy to identify your own plan. This is self help and motivation in one. Great book.

I read this book before having medical treatment, treatment that I had resisted for 12 years because I was scared of the side effects.
I decided the night before that instead of worrying about it, I would reframe it as the first day of the rest of my life. I did the breathing exercises mentioned in the book to calm myself and worked on some of the ideas Daniel Walter gives you.
The day went really well and I’m ready to push my business to the next level using what I have read here.
In a genre where there’s plenty of books to choose from, it’s nice to find one that makes you want to implement what’s being said. Actionable content supported by personal examples feels more relatable than some other books.

This book gets right to the point which is one of the things I liked about it. There is much to glean from the introduction to the end. The author uses a practical approach to enlighten, encourage, and strengthen humanity to lead a productive life.
Although I only complete half of the book, overall it's a good book that summarizes many approaches in self-improvements. If you want to grab tips about how to improve your life, I'd recommend it.

It was very engaging, it had a lovely flow, included a lot of practical tips with lots of examples that ease comprehension, retention and recall. I could feel his passion right from the beginning to the very end. Truly inspiring!
