This volume responds to a variety of children's questions on the pyramids and the Egyptians, from What did Egyptians eat? to What were their towns and cities like? The easy-to-follow text helps children to imagine living in very different circumstances, and the actions and events of this time are described, with detailed illustrations.
A great book that gives you a detailed look into everyday life in ancient Egypt. There are cutouts of an Egyptian home, detailed drawings of cities, farms, palaces, temples, food, and clothing. Every drawing contains many labels and explanations. There is a lot of text. This is probably a good book for upper elementary ages. I looked through it with my five year old but probably skipped over half of the text.
