Despite being in the second (third?) arc, I feel like we're still in this weird purgatory between the first and the futuristic second arc. Yes, there's story, yes, there's plot, but I'm not sure where it's heading. It's not in a conventional story telling process.
Fujimoto isn't a conventional guy though. He also has not turned the story the least bit around where we can start to root for Denji and hope things get better, because we know that they have not and probably will not.
I'm craving for hope from Denji's story, but I feel everything is hopeless and I find it a struggle to continue reading if everything is hopeless.
With Nayutas fate unknown(although she's probably not dead), Asa finally finding out that Denji is Chainsaw Man, and the looming threat of Nostradamus(Death Devil) ever etching closer.
How will Denji face this threat now that his normal life has been destroyed once again, and he feels like Chainsaw Man has cost him the closest thing to family he has ever known.

I love this series- it’s so good. All the characters feel sincere, somewhat dim at times but trying their best even if they sometimes become monstrous killing machines, literal devils or just run with gangs.
Chainsaw man is dismembered in a comically gory moment and put back together. Asa and Fami save him but are still angry at chainsaw man.
So much emotional turmoil in one volume. So fewer attached limbs than a few chapters ago.
Barem Go-Jump-Off-A Bridge is such an awful piece of work, that I can only commend Fujimoto on writing. Will we get a traumatic backstory to allow us to feel a smidge of sympathy towards him? Who knows, but I still think he belongs in the trash. Same with Fumiko Mifune.
It definitely feels like things are heating up, with Denji, Nayuta and Asa making realisations that will have a huge impact on the plot. Past characters stirring up potential trouble. At this point, it's hard to tell how things will develop - but no doubt some form of tragedy awaits.
Denji has been through a lot, when will he catch a break? I've been reading Chainsaw Man online cause I'm too broke to buy the physical mangas. I've caught up to the latest chapter 180, I can't wait for volume 19 to be here so I can log it. I've been keeping up with Chainsaw Man for 2 years now. I LOVE IT SO MUCH.
Ok... I'm done with Chainsaw Man for a while. (To note: I have taken a break from One Punch Man for a few years and am now wanting to get back into it, so it's possible I will come back) We'll see how the upcoming movie might bring my interest back.
Not 100% what is happening here, but Asa/Yoru has taken leadership of a rescue mission to save Chainsaw Man, only when they get to him, he has been chopped up into pieces. As they rebuild him to heal his body, she freaks out when it is Denji's head because she didn't know he was Chainsaw Man. He does get healed but only cares about where Nayuta is....
I'll come back at some point. Really missing the unleashed Denji stuff.
