I have a broad sense of humour and an open mind gained from diverse work and people experience. Before I was a steeplejack in Nottingham, a farm owner in France, Berlin house builder, and a project manager in London. I was a ten-pound-pom in Australia. A year in Tenerife directed me to the Costa Blanca where I lived and worked as a journalist, illustrator and book cover designer. This is a magical book!

Is that the right word? Magical? I guess, although it’s really somewhere between freakish and bonkers. And I loved it.

We’ve got Ashley, an international rugby player. Shaun, an ex-thief, streaker and a man possibly crippled for life by Ashley. Nadine, the proud owner of a beautifully-formed Latino arse (round and ample), watery brown eyes and huge tits. Yanna, possibly bipolar in mood, fierce and enjoyable, and given to streaking, but only for a purpose. And Spam, scruffy and handsome.

Fate has brought them all together, and they’re on a mission. What mission? Well, that would be throwing in spoilers, but lurking in the background – and we’re not really sure if she’s dead or alive – is Lady G, owner of Kleptomaniacs Pawn Brokers, where they all reside.

And even if she is dead, what Lady G says goes, and there’s no arguing with her.

Truly, this book is so much fun, and I thoroughly recommend you read it, for all is not as it seems, and there’s more than one twist at the end.

Well worth the read!

I loved the overly brash main character who loses his dreams and sets out to heal himself and by doing so, others. It was so easy to grow attachments to the characters as their stories only grew while their pasts were revealed slowly throughout. Do not worry about pace, it unravels at a perfect pace right to the end. The human level and believability mixes so well with the oddness of some of the characters and the actions they take that sparks the equally crazy and fun dialogue. I really enjoyed this book, the story was easy to get into, do not let the Rugby or Sport aspect scare you if you’re not a fan of sports books; this is a much deeper story.

I liked it because it was easy to get into.
I would recommend it to people who like dramatic stories about healing and redemption, with a mix of fun and humor.

Something completely different. Loved it.
A fallen star is on the road to ruin having almost killed an innocent streaker who spoiled his game simply by advertising his employer's business by running across the pitch.
He is sort of rescued by a weird group of hippie types who live together and offer him the chance of redemption if he cares for the man he almost killed who is now confined to a wheelchair.
There are lots of twists and turns in this story, leading towards a nice conclusion but, just when you think everything is going to be all right...
You'll have to read the book to find out.
