Rate this book
A PR relationship between a pop superstar and a pro-athlete bad boy turns into so much more in this swoony romance from the acclaimed author of When I Think of You.

Ella Simone’s popstar life is what dreams are made of. Her eight year marriage to renowned music producer, Elliot Majors, has helped garner the hits, awards, and adoring fans to prove it. But when Ella tires of Elliot's many infidelities, she decides to fight for her independence despite the ironclad prenup that threatens her career.

To help her case, Ella is under strict orders to stick to The no headlines, no rumors, no rocking the boat. But this strategy is thrown a curveball after an awards show wardrobe snafu and quick rescue by Miles Westbrook, MLB’s most eligible player, sends the tabloids into a frenzy. Amid tricky divorce proceedings, Ella’s magnetic connection with the charismatic pitcher might just be her downfall.

Now the pressure is on to turn a scandal into an opportunity and give their teams what they a picture-perfect performance that will shore up both Ella and Miles' reputations. But as the lines between reality and PR begin to blur, Ella will either stick to the choreographed life she knows so well, or surrender to a love that could set her free.

You know how they say your frontal lobe doesn't fully develop until you’re 25? So Ella, forgive yourself, lol. This was such a wholesome read. In fact, I enjoyed it so much, I’m even willing to forgive all the celebrity name-drops🤨

What I loved most about this book was how it shed light on a different kind of abuse you don’t always hear or read about. I was genuinely mad for Ella. I appreciated the look into the not-so-glamorous parts of the music industry and celebrity world. Seeing her growth by the end, finally starting to trust herself and make better decisions was so satisfying.

And Miles! I adored his character. He’s a shy, humble man—just how I like them🤭. I loved reading about his journey through his career and hearing about the people who shaped him into the man he is. It was also great to see the dynamics both he and Ella had with their families and friends.

Now, let’s talk romance. “Dream girl this, Dream girl that..”. Oh Miles, stop taunting me😋! Their relationship was super cute. They were clearly made for each other, and I loved how much they opened up and became vulnerable together. That said, their romance did feel a bit underdeveloped. I would’ve killed for a slow burn. I’m such a sucker for one! They were both such strong characters on their own, and it would’ve been amazing to see them fall in love gradually. But I totally get how the chemistry was just there from the start. Sometimes, it really does just happen like that.

Okay, Myah Ariel! This was such a cute and anticipated read. It needed a little more in places, but it definitely did not disappoint!

- Love how this author always makes sure to focus on the career of the mmc! It’s fun to have a focus within the story outside of the romance.
- I truly had no idea how this book was going to go and was crossing my fingers everything would end well for the fmc! Really love how the author set up the story to keep us on our toes.
- Would have loved a little more of the romance - tension, dates, and deep convos outside of the career focus as well but I did really love the length of the book so I can see how that could be tough to add in. Definitely will continue to read more from this author!

Thanks so much to @berkleypub @berkleyromance or @acebookspub for this ARC of No Ordinary Love! This was highly anticipated by me so I was so thankful to receive this!!

Now...onto the review.

I'll start off with what i did like about this book. The writing. Myah Ariel is a beautiful writer yall. I loved her descriptions and use of language overall. This is my first Myah Ariel book, so i was very pleasantly surprised to see how beautiful her use of words were!

However, writing and storytelling are two different things.

The story....it felt empty. It felt....like there was no plot? It almost felt like time had been frozen and the plot simply was not moving along. We get really random flashbacks that do nothing for the story, no sense of timeframe throughout the book, and very random bits and pieces of...well...nothing? I'm just not sure what the point of this entire story was. Ella gets divorced from her terrible producer Elliot, and we dont get much about HOW or WHY he is terrible besides what he did in the prenup. I wanted to hate the guy but didnt even hate him until we got the ONE scene with him in it at like 70% when they were sitting at the table.

Then Miles? I mean ok. LMAOOOO yall like when i tell you there was like zero plot i genuinely have no idea who these characters were. They just had no depth to them whatsoever. I knew nothing about Miles except he had a stutter? I think? Played baseball, and his momma had him young. Thats all i got. Like...there was just nothing in this book given to really care about the characters and who they were.

Literally i get to the end, and mind you Ella married Elliot 5 months into knowing him at 20 years old. She now tells Miles at 29 she loves him THREE MONTHS IN. ?????????????????? Did...did we learn nothing? Like am i missing something? Is it me?

Then the way this ends? Hello? The same way im running out of what to say about this book is the same way the book simply ended like it ran out of things to say. Like...we got more of the Glam teams ending than we did Ella and Miles.

Also??????!!?!?!??! The use of real life celebrities in this? Pop culture and tiktok dances?? Save me. Ariana Grande, Mariah Carey, Beyonce, DUA LIPAAAAA? I knew what they had going on in this book before i could even remember the FMCs name. Like. Please. I know for context it was relevant to the story in a way, but when i tell you it was SO irritating. "Well I'm not Queen Bey but-" girl please save it. I just wish this was less about the industry and what "TheShadeRoom" had to say (yes they are actually mentioned in this book- again SAVE ME) and more about the romance. The romance just felt ridiculously secondary.

I'm sad. LMAOOO. I wanted to like this so bad!! I mean the cover? The synopsis? Reeled me in like a catfish OKAYYYYY. But the pages between the cover and synopsis..baby what we doing? Sadness and despair. I literally emailed Berkley nearly begging for this book lmaooooooooo. Sighhhh. You cant like them all i guess. lol.

Thank you to Berkley Romance for the free e-ARC!

When I heard this was inspired by Mariah Carey and her whirlwind romance with Derek Jeter I was all in lmao! I loved Ella's story and how despite the things going on with her personal life, she would not back down from a fight when it came to her soon to be ex-husband. She had an amazing support system, not only from Miles, but with her friends and divorce lawyer too. They saw what she was going through and understood that she needed the support, but I also loved that she was willing to support them through their needs as well.

I love the swoon-worthy moments between Ella and Miles. Every time they were on page together I was giggling and kicking my feet. They were so fun to read that I actually wish I got more of them through the story. Toward the end of the book, pacing seemed to move a little fast, but I still think the story wrapped up nicely.

Now I need to listen to Butterfly to really feel something.

Music super star Ella Simone seems to have it all— a record producer husband who helped build her career, adoring fans, and all the accolades she could have imagined. But behind the scenes, things aren’t as they appear. Tired of her philandering husband, Ella is determined to break free from him but not at the expense of her career. When her plan to avoid any negative headlines goes awry during an awards ceremony snafu with co-presenter MLB superstar Miles Westbrook, she and her team work to turn a potential scandal into an opportunity for both of them.

After enjoying Myah Ariel’s debut last year, and reading the synopsis for this one, I was eager to jump in. I am happy to say that even with a not-so-fun reading slump developing, this book did not disappoint.

It was very easy to get caught up in the swoon-worthy romance, from Ella and Miles’s very disastrous meet-cute on, as well as the emotional story surrounding Ella’s determination to remain in complete control of her career and life overall. Miles is an absolute sweetheart, and I loved the inclusion of disability rep around his stutter and the ways in which it impacts him, but yet doesn’t define him. It is not something I have seen featured in romance, and I know there are a lot of readers who will feel seen with its inclusion.

While I had no idea this was inspired by the romance between Mariah Carey and Derek Jeter, I can see how Ariel took inspiration from them. I loved the power dynamic between these two and found myself particularly drawn to scenes they were in together. I love that this was inspired by their counterparts in their mutual industries.

🎧 This was terrific as an immersive read. Though Yinka Ladeinde does a solid job as the sole narrator, I did find myself gravitating slightly more to the physical book than the audio.

Read if you like:
celebrity romance
MLB x pop star
forced proximity
fake dating
memorable meet-cutes
strong FMCs
disability rep (stutter)

Thank you Berkley Romance and PRH Audio for the gifted copies.

This love story was everything I needed.

She’s a famous pop star singer, he’s a pro baseball player, two worlds collide in No Ordinary Love and it was absolutely beautiful.

This book isn’t just about romance, it’s about self love, friendship, finding one’s voice, and so much more. I truly enjoyed every single second of No Ordinary Love and it will forever live in my head rent free.

please do yourself a favor and add this book to your TBR, you will NOT regret it at all.

Loved this book so much. 🥰 The MMC is a MLB player and the FMC is a pop star?! I loved the attention to detail when it came to their careers and even the bits of their individual back stories. I always appreciate when a romance can deliver more than just the relationship. I do wish we had could have replaced some flashback moments of Elliot and Ella to more moments of Ella and Miles together. The spicy bits I felt were paced well and the attraction Miles and Ella felt from the beginning was believable.

Also I really hope we get a story for Jamie and Gabe 😍😝💕

Thank you netgalley for the eARC. I will definitely need a physical trophy for my shelf 🏆

I loved Myah Ariel's first book, When I Think of You, and I'm glad I loved her second, No Ordinary Love too. Though to be fair, I'm a hugeee fan of romances where one of them is an entertainer, so there's no way this could've been bad.

The romance really delivered, it was so sweet. I loved how Ella left her awful husband, and allowed herself to enter something new with Miles, despite everything that could've gone wrong. They deserved more page time as a couple though, we didn't get enough!!

The pop culture references were on point, they made perfect sense in the context of the story. And all the music did as well.

The side characters get a mention, because they carried a lot of the story, and weren't just there when it was convenient, never to be seen again. The glam squad showed up for Ella continuously, and she showed up for them right back. That's friendship right there.

I'm hoping we'll get a spinoff in the future, there's at least one more story that needs to be told (hint hint Myah Ariel AHEM AHEM).

I loved this a thousand times over. Ella was so relatable with her relationship mess and trying to figure life out in the midst of it. I truly loved Miles, Ella deserved an amazing man after everything she's been through. Ella's glam team (friends) were truly comical, and I loved all of them. They're the friends everyone needs in life. This was a beautiful story to read through and watch it unfold. Highly recommend!

I received this ARC from Berkley Publishing Group to read/review. All of the statements above are my true opinions after fully reading this book.

I wanted to read this one because I grew up in the 90’s and was a HUGE fan of Mariah Carey and this book was inspired by Mariah and Derek Jeter’s romance back then. How fun is that!?! I think the author did an amazing job writing this one. It’s heartfelt, powerful, and has an amazing meet cute which started my devotion to the novel. Our characters both go through some personal growth and their lives are displayed as raw and relatable, which is something I very much appreciate in books. Ella is taking control of her own life after leaving her cheating ex and Mile’s has his own issues when it comes to his disability which is stuttering. I don’t think I’ve ever read about this impediment in a romance novel, so I was thrilled to see how the author was able to show it didn’t define him. I think this book has the ability for readers to feel seen, which made it very special.

If you like celebrity romances with vulnerable characters I think this would be a great book for you! Now I want to read more from the author!

Thank you to Netgalley and the editor for this ARC.
This was a cute romance.
The story started off strong, I was instantly hooked. I liked Ella and I wanted to cuss Elliott for that stunt he pulled at the Grammys.
I loved Miles and I liked how he instantly connected with Ella.
Somewhere in the middle of the book, I felt kind of unsatisfied cause the story was just going around in circles for me. It felt a bit dragged. The scenes were really long, sometimes written on way too many pages and nothing really special was happening. On chapter 19, the fmc and mmc only had 3 real conversations and from that we jump to her slightly having a jealous reaction to something. It felt unnatural. The story started picking back up towards the end but the ending was a little abrupt. I wanted to see more of their connection. I wish we had more Miles and Ella moments, I wish we saw more of how the divorce was actually handled and I wish it was a dual POV so we could connect more with their love story. Overall it was a nice read and a cute story. The mmc calling her Dream Girl as a nickname had me melting.

This was such a cute, heartwarming love story. I was hooked from the beginning and I seriously thought this had the potential to became a new favorite but it lost me after that 50% mark. The first interactions between Miles and Ella were electric and I was so excited to see how their relationship was going to develop but once they had that first intimate moment between them, it felt like everything was going way too fast between them (their relationship needed more time.) I can see why this happened, specially taking into consideration that it's a short book and there's no much time to work with but the lack of a third act breakup probably was the reason why this ended up feeling bland to me by the end.

The voice memos between Miles and Ella felt awkward and I wasn't sold on their relationship. I gotta say that I loved them individually, specially Miles's relationships with the women around him and how sweet he was. I felt the same way towards Ella's. She was a resilient woman and seeing her growing confident again after everything that happened between her and her ex husband and especially her experience and the whole theme of explotation and poor treatment surrounding the entertainment industry, was beautiful to see.

I think that this book explores really important aspects and the writing was immaculate but it lost me at what mattered the most to me: the romance development and the pacing of the story.

Nonetheless, I did enjoyed this and would definitely recommend to those who are looking for a quick and easy read. I will definitely continue to read more from this author because I truly love her writing and can see her getting better and better at her craft.

It’s officially out! ♥️

I’m squealing and beyond giddy at this novel 🤩🤩 This was a one-sitting book. Meaning, I could not put it down! I adored our main characters and was able to relate so well to Ella. It’s past 3 am now where I am. So, I’m going to come back to finish my review when the sun is up.

~~~~~
Full Review:
No Ordinary Love starts with our main character, Ella, beginning the process of divorcing her music producer mogul husband. It is fairly evident from the onset that he's trash 🚮. He snagged her up immediately at 20 and has held her hostage creatively/ and legally ever since — FYI, Ella in the present is 30 now! so the trauma is real. He is also a philanderer, so there is no question about us being on board for this separation. Thankfully, we meet our boy Miles within the first couple of chapters, and the sparks come from all sides.
I was immediately engaged in the story and the two main characters.
When they meet at an award show shortly after Ella is blindsided by her (future ex) husband, she and Miles both allow a quick peek at their vulnerable underbellies, which endears them to one another. After tabloids get a whiff of the onscreen chemistry between them, they really don't have much choice but to use the coverage to control the narrative. It was almost comical how Ella thought that anyone would buy their whole "it's not like that" when I was over here sweatingggg. Especially when Miles *respectfully* applied some pressure *cue some 90's R&B playing*
description
Throughout the next couple of months, they get closer to one another, and it is so beautiful. Like kicking my feet in my bed, wholesome, funny, and hot (you have a starting pitcher and an R&B singer with character descriptions similar to Zendaya and Michael B. Jordan!). I refuse to be embarrassed about it —but be ready to be blushing guys.
description
Miles was the consummate gentleman and such a safe space for Ella during this crazy time in her life. I honestly didn't see him as much of a bad boy; he was just someone who had a bad rap with the media. Miles is past his latest scandal when he meets Ella, but even when he is better off keeping his distance, he is always all in for her. I will always love a man who is down bad for his girl.
Ella has quite a few things happen to her throughout the story. You have the main plot point of her getting her divorce settled away while trying to retain her creative license and gain her autonomy. She also has to confront her coping mechanisms at multiple points in her life. She's a D1 runner in quite a few conflicts lol. However, I liked the overall growth she has and how she learned to put herself in an uncomfortable position and then advocate for herself in those moments. When I say she is relatable, I mean her story is that we may not all be famous musicians, but we are all people who have to learn to fight for ourselves and shed things that no longer support our future selves.
I thought the book's pacing was fantastic; there was not a moment when I thought, "Wrap it up." It was all, "OH NO, WHY AM I ALREADY AT 68%?!" As mentioned earlier, the growth of our main character is clear and tested. I loved all of our supporting characters, too. They were people who had their own lives and helped Ella develop.
I have so many more things to say and quotes to add, but alas, we must wait for pub day! I already have this one pre-ordered because, yes, I need it on my shelves.
I enjoyed this book, Myah's debut was good and I thought this was even better. This is a single pov that follows the fmc, a popular singer, as she navigates separation from her husband, who was also her manager and producer. I loved the book's music scene and plot, especially because of all the Black musicians and songs named. I really liked that while this was a romance it also showed the strength of the fmc as she left an abusive relationship and tried to navigate the gaslighting that her ex put her through. This black romance was so sweet, tender, and sexual and I was fully immersed in it. Thanks to Berkley for this arc!
Myah Ariel does it again!! An auto-buy author, for sure!
Thanks so much to @berkleypub @berkleyromance for the free eARC!❤️
Any book that makes me tear up where I can just feel the love coming off the pages and the honesty between lovers is always going to be a win for me. I totally felt that while reading about Miles & Ella!
First off, I love the 90's R&B/ pop culture vibes that this book gives. There are a lot of names & movies that are mentioned, some that I had honestly forgotten about! All the musical mentions fit the exact mood, pace & timing of Miles & Ella's relationship as it unfolds. Perfection!
Both Ella & Miles have very public careers and are struggling with the after effects of a divorce. Myah Ariel does a great job of creating a scene where you can feel everything, from the setting to the growing tension between Ella & Miles. This was a very believable, sultry, romantic slow-burn!
Miles is very much boyfriend material. He is very sweet, careful and understanding and just wants Ella to feel appreciated & wanted. 😍
I'll just be waiting here for the next book from this author! 🤭
From the very first page, No Ordinary Love pulled me in with a depth and authenticity that resonated deeply. Ella’s journey is one of self-discovery and liberation, a narrative that felt both personal and empowering. There was something profoundly freeing about her story—her struggles, triumphs, and vulnerabilities felt so real, making it easy to connect with her on an emotional level. It’s rare to find a character whose growth speaks directly to the heart, but Ella’s evolution did just that.
Miles’ character brought a refreshing and heartfelt representation of disability that’s often missing in romance novels. His experiences were portrayed with nuance and care, offering a perspective that was both enlightening and deeply moving. Witnessing his resilience and the layers of his personality unfold was inspiring, adding a rich dimension to the story that felt genuine and heartfelt.
The love story between Ella and Miles was nothing short of organic and emotionally charged. Their connection blossomed naturally, with a chemistry that leaped off the pages. I was delighted to discover one of my new favorite tropes within their romance—the dynamic between a musician and an athlete. Their contrasting yet complementary lives created a beautiful harmony that added depth to their relationship.
Reading No Ordinary Love felt like listening to an early 90’s R&B love song—smooth, soulful, and brimming with raw emotion. Myah Ariel crafted a story that not only entertained but also touched the soul. I highly recommend this novel to anyone looking for a romance that’s heartfelt, beautifully written, and refreshingly authentic.
While definitely a romance, this is really a story of a woman (Ella) taking back her power and rediscovering herself. Ella, a recording artist, is divorcing her husband/music producer (a controlling man and philanderer) and in doing so, begins to regain her independence. There is a great cast of supporting characters, specifically Ella’s friends and lawyer, as well as a wonderful leading man, Miles. I loved that Miles wasn’t afraid to be open and honest, showing emotions and having deep conversations. I also loved seeing Ella put herself first.
A quick read, full of depth.
NO ORDINARY LOVE by Myah Ariel
4.5 rounded up 🎉
Thank you #berkleyromancepartner @berkleyromance for my gifted paperback and @prhaudio for my gifted ALC. #berkleyig
I loved Myah Ariel's debut, When I Think of You, and when I heard her sophomore novel was inspired by Mariah Carey and Derek Jeter, I couldn't wait to read it! 🙌🏼
📖 No Ordinary Love follows pop star Ella Simone, who’s navigating a messy divorce from the powerful producer who helped make her famous. When a red carpet mishap throws her into the orbit of charming MLB pitcher Miles Westbrook, a fake relationship sparks between them for PR purposes. But as the lines blur between strategy and real emotion, Ella and Miles must confront their pasts—and decide if their connection could be something real.
💭 This swoony contemporary romance novel blends themes of love, personal growth, and reclaiming your power. 💪🏼 The chemistry between Ella and Miles is off the charts! 🔥 I really appreciated the emotional depth and maturity of the characters, the multitude of musical references, and the exploration of love in the public eye. Another winner from Myah Ariel! 😍
🎧 I listened to parts of this on audio when I was unable to sit down and read (I was HOOKED). And while the audiobook was certainly enjoyable, I think I preferred this one with my eyes. 💕
The way this book just made me swoon!!!!! I loved Ella and Miles individually but them together had me rubbing my feet together and giggling. Now I will say I wish I could’ve spent more time with them because what we go was so perfect. The ending did feel a bit rushed but overall I loved it. Now I need to know if we’re getting a Jamie/Gabe story because I need to know. Also who won the game?!?!
⟶ yalll this was actually so cute 🥹
💌 ❝ And like this love, our kiss has no end in sight. All at once, it is letting go and holding on, a secret and a confession, a fight and a surrender. But most of all, it is a promise that neither one of us will have to be alone, not so long as a love like ours exists in the world. ❞ 💌
guys im so shocked by how much I was giggling throughout this. miles being a cutesy shy man with a stutter was the last thing I was expecting when I read the blurb and saw him being described as ‘pro-athlete bad boy’ like that is so not the case he’s actually the sweetest mmc ever <33
💌 ❝ “So, I’m a . . . fan,” he says, piercing the awkwardness. And surprisingly, his words are stilted, like now that we’ve been left alone for probably only a minute—at least I hope it’s only been that long—he’s nervous in my presence. “Of y-your music that is.” ❞ 💌
like no way you’re calling him a bad boy😭 no but if you love fake dating, celebrity romance, a sweet mmc, you’ll love this it was so cute and such a fun time!! i feel bad i read it after the release date but I didn’t think id enjoy it as much as i did it took me by surprise.
💌 ❝ “Because you see me,” I tell him as the dam finally breaks and my tears fall. “And you actively love what you see. I can feel it in your touch, hear it in your voice, see it on your face. And I see you too.” ❞ 💌
this scene reminds me so much of the song “you are in love” by taylor swift 🥹🥹 which made me love it even more.
my main complaint about this book was the drama she had with her toxic cheating ex i hated him and we kept getting flashbacks to when they were married and in love and it pissed me off LMAO 😭
I loved this story! I love stories of women finding their footing after a bad relationship and not only rediscovering things about themselves but finding real love in the process.
I especially loved all the pop culture references. All the songs make for a great playlist that I’ll be jamming to for the days to come, for sure.
Miles was a dream; such a sweet, thoughtful and sexy guy. I loved how Ella kept fighting for herself throughout the story; she was never a doormat and was able to come out on top in all ways.
Great read.
4.5/5!
Thank you Berkley Romance for this free e-ARC!
Ariel does 2 things very well: 1) painting a vivid picture of unending yearning and 2) celebrity romances. Ella and Miles are two celebrities navigating difficult situations, all within the public eye. Everything becomes complicated once it’s decided that they should enter into a PR relationship. From the studio, to the baseball field, you’ll really enjoy the banter, heat, and drama of their love story. I wish there were a couple more instances of their chemistry depicted through the story. Either way, I was locked in the entire time.
NO ORDINARY LOVE comes out in April 2025, and I can’t wait for others to enjoy this as much as I did!
Thank you Berkley & NetGalley. I enjoyed No Ordinary Love. After obsessing over When I Think of You, I knew I would be reading anything Myah Ariel writes.
The FMC Ella is my namesake, and I still get excited about seeing my name places—it made reading this even more fun.
My only wishes is that we got to spend more time with Miles and Ella dating and navigating their relationship. However, the time we did get with them interacting was so sweet. He knew she needed patience and understanding and delivered. Ohhhh, & I do wish we got me information about her & her mom. That entire situation felt rushed.
I loved how Ella and her friends showed up for each other. I do think the ending was a little fast since we didn’t really get too much of Ella and Miles dating, but the romantic parts hit so good that it was alright with me in the end.
Extra points for some of my favorite songs being mentioned. The last song—Donny Hathaway’s A Song for You—is a PERFECT choice. I love that song so much. It felt so good reading that, because everybody deserves a love like that.
It’s been a long time since I’ve enjoyed a book so much I stayed up late into the night to finish it in a day. Loved this book! Between the music references and voice notes between the MMC/FMC, this book gave me all the warm fuzzies. If the author happens to stumble upon this review: please release the Sunday Kind Of Love playlist the FMC referenced. Please and thank you! ☺️
I really enjoyed this book and seeing Ella’s redemption after having to deal with such a difficult situation with her husband. The way she comes out on top—thriving in her career, finding love, and experiencing personal growth—was so satisfying to see. I was here for that! I felt like Ella got her groove back in this book, and I was rooting for her and Miles the whole time.
I loved how the characters met and connected. Miles accepts Ella for exactly who she is, with no changes needed. He shows her the love and care she never received before, whether from family or past relationships. It was beautiful to see because everyone deserves love. And I’m so happy Elliot got exactly what he deserved in the end—smh. I couldn’t stand his character; he made me upset every time he did something terrible to Ella.
This was my first book by this author, and I loved her writing style and the way she told the story of a famous pop star and an MLB pro finding love. These two were so meant for each other! And let me not forget Ella’s friends—they were everything. I loved all their moments together. It gave me that found family feeling because they always had her back and truly wanted the best for her. Their support was amazing.
There were so many moments in this book that stood out to me—I could go on and on about everything I loved!
Thank you, NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Group, for the eARC in exchange for my honest review.
4.25 rounding to 5
A lovely story about an R&B / Pop Princess who meets a famous baseball pitcher that spurs a whirlwind celebrity romance that will warm your heart. I love how Myah has written such a tender romance that really is about the heart of these characters, you really care for both Ella and Miles as they come together amidst controversies and personal blockades to fall in love. Watching Ella really come into her own in this story was a beautiful arc to see, as she grows more confident but also believes more in herself in the process as she leaves behind a man who held her back and found one who will champion her. I really loved this story with its tender romance and beautiful found family, it will warm your heart.
My only qualm with the book is that I felt the love part of their story felt too fast. I didn’t believe they would already be in love with eachother just 2 months in and a handful of encounters, especially coming off their past relationships. Besides this a perfect book!
Taylor Swift songs: Dress, Call It What You Want, Delicate, End Game, King of My Heart, peace, Sparks Fly, You Are In Love, Afterglow, Gorgeous, You’re On You’re Own Kid, Labyrinth, The Alchemy
Obsessed with this 😍
~ Ella is an R&B singer going through a nasty divorce with her music producer and Miles is an MLB star trying to clean up his bad boy image. A wardrobe malfunction at the Grammy’s leaves the public wanting more of the two and Ella’s upcoming music video leaves the perfect opportunity for just that. What starts as an arrangement quickly turns into more ~
I devoured this! Started and finished the same day because I genuinely could not put it down. The chemistry between Ella and Miles was breathtaking. The drama with Ella and her ‘husband’ was actually a great addition! Watching her navigate the divorce and everything that came with it was so inspiring.
This author is definitely on my watch list. 😍
