My brother’s best friend is such a jerk.

An imposing, handsome jerk who doesn’t trust me. And now we’re roommates.

He wanders around the apartment in nothing but gray sweatpants, looking like a broody, tattooed muscle god, and playing music that shakes the walls. I want to hate him for treating me like an intruder, but there’s something about the way he looks at me—like he’s trying to figure me out—that keeps pulling me in.

Archer Holland is loyal, caring, and protective—with everyone except me.

Every time I move around our apartment, I can feel his glare. And the worst part? It only makes me want him more.

Not that it matters.

He’s my brother’s best friend—the one guy I can never have. But after a late-night rescue, we go from sharing a wall to sharing a bed.

I’m not sure what my brother would do if he found out, but it doesn’t matter because Archer says it can’t happen again.

That imposing, handsome jerk is about to find out I’m done playing by his rules.

Comeback is a football romance with lots of spice, swoon, and a happily ever after. It’s the third book in the Holland Brothers series and can be read as a standalone.

Tropes:

- forced proximity / roommates
- broody tattooed football hero
- sneaking around
- ASL and chronic illness rep
- dual POV

ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ 3.5/5

This was so sweet and I knew I was right to be excited for it. These two were so damn cute and I didn't realize how much I needed an insanely sweet and mushy book right now.

I might have been a little annoyed at Brogan as a love interest in his book, but he is so heartwarming as a brother. I love the way he is with everyone, just chill and low-key, but especially the way he was so sweet to Sabrina and willing to connect with her even after not being receptive to her at first in his book. And Archer, I thought he was going to be a huge asshole, but even when he was trying, I thought it was still sweet because he was doing it for Brogan - to make sure that he doesn't get hurt since he considers him as his brother.

I might not be ending August with a 5 star read (or even have a 5-star this month), but I definitely am ending with a book that gave me some of the best feels (unless I finish another book later today bc I lack self-control 🤧😌).

Anyways, I think this has to be the best of the series for me. As much as I liked Burnout because of the audiobook, I think Archer and Sabrina stole the spotlight (iykyk). I'm a little skeptical about the next and last book in the series since it has the single parent trope which I usually don't enjoy, but I made it so far so I guess I'll read that too sometime soon.

Some of the best quotes from this book:

“I don’t know what I did to deserve you.” He rests his forehead against mine. “But I’m not letting you go now that I’ve got you.”

“I wish I could hear every moan, every gasp, every word that leaves your mouth, but at least this way I can feel it. I won’t stop if you don’t hold back.”

“If you picked me, I’d consider myself the luckiest guy at this party,” he whispers.”

-------

pre-read: yes, just like I said yesterday, I'm going to be finishing this today because I have no chill. Never mind the pile of assignments that are waiting for me. 🤧

i honestly dont even know how to begin to out into words how much i love and adored archer and sabrina’s story 😭💚

every time i start a new holland brother book i leave it utterly obsessed with the MCs. they feel like the softest sweetest (and a lil spicy 🙂‍↕️) romances that i find myself never wanting to end.

unfortunately for the first two holland boys they have been kicked to the curb because their brother is superior, this man has the most INSANE game when it comes to wooing and keeping women 😂

i really lived for the slight enemies to lovers we had going for a minute, it was sweet to see how much these two cared for brogan and wanting to protect him. i feel like it also added a nice little bit of depth to their getting together 🤭

sabrina i think is without a doubt the best fmc of the series yet, i love how she took no shit but in the most polite way LOL. i loved how caring she was with archers hearing loss, even when she didnt really like him she made sure to make him feel included. i loved the way she loves olivia and her little girl. she has the biggest heart and seeing her give that love to all of the other side characters who needed it was precious.

one of my favorite things about this book was that all of the conflict in this book happened outside of the relationship, it was a nice change of pace to feel secure in knowing that they weren’t going to let these outside things shake the foundation they’ve built together. i liked not having to feel anxiety of “oh man is this gonna be what does them in?!”

overall, i devoured the absolute fuck out of this book and am very much looking forward to doing it again as soon as i can possibly get my hands on the audiobook!!! and per usual after i finish one of the boys’ books YES i am literally going out of my mind over baby hollands book, its gonna be so weird to see him grown up but LAWD knowing what i know, its gonna be soooooo good 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️🤭

This reads as if Sabrina and Archer are the 3rd wheel in their own relationship...

Perfect light, easy, and quick read.

I love love loveee the representation and having an MMC with hearing impairment. I am no expert at all on how that experience is, but I am glad Rebecca consulted and worked hard to give us Archer.

I also love love loveee the found family and the family aspects. This concept was front and center in the book and it was addressed from several sides and forms. It was beautiful reading the different styles and how love and protectiveness manifest.

But, that took up so much of the book that Sabrina and Archer as characters and their romance took a backseat.

The first 40% Brogan (Sabrina's brother and Archer's best friend) was mentioned every 2 pages. He was there in most encounters, and their entire romance seemed to revolve around their love for him...

Then from 40% to 80% Archer's family and brothers had the spotlight.

I feel their romance and characters didn't get the opportunity to shine or grow.
Even some key moments of their love story were sabotaged, cut short, interrupted, or just tempered.

I needed more tension and more fireworks on the page to show this obvious chemistry Sabrina and Archer have.

Even the bonus chapter, it happens before the epilogue and half of it is focused on Flynn (Archer's brother).

I did have high hopes for the book and unfortunately it didn't deliver what I wanted even though I got into it immediately.

I have received an ARC in exchange for an honest opinion.

4-4.5⭐️ Archer Holland doesn’t need a roommate, but his best friend’s sister, Sabrina, is looking for a place to stay. But as their chemistry collides, a moment of weakness leads to more, forcing them to make a decision to either confront their feelings or bury them.

This book is lovely from the inside out. While it is chock-full of some of *the* best tropes including brother’s best friend and found family, along with the inclusion of hearing impairment and ASL, often underrepresented in the book world, to me it’s the characters that really make this book shine. And if you are someone who, like me, doesn’t mind the spice, but doesn’t want it to overshadow the story, you will come away feeling there was a good balance between the two elements.

🎧 I tend to prefer steamy romance in print versus audio; however, I have to give a shoutout to superstar narrators CJ Bloom and Lee Samuels, who both do a fantastic job narrating this audiobook duet style.

📌 Important to note that this is book 3 in The Holland series, but that didn’t stop me from reading it as a standalone without feeling as though I was missing something. I always appreciate when an author manages to pull this off. This was my first book by Rebecca Jenshak, but it most certainly will not be my last.

Read if you like:
▪️ballerina x football player
▪️brother’s best friend
▪️roommates
▪️forced proximity
▪️grumpy x sunshine
▪️found family
▪️hearing impairment/ASL rep
▪️chronic illness rep
▪️all the spice

Thank you Must Love Audio for the advanced copy.

This was so cute! Archer is skeptical of Sabrina and thinks she's only around to use her brother, who is his best friend. But when Sabrina needs a place to live, she moves in with them. Archer and her have some tender moments together, which were really sweet, and really start to fall for each other. I also loved the ASL rep in here and how Archer opened up to Sabrina about that. If you love sports romances that follow brothers, you should pick up this series!

꒰ 🧸ྀི꒱ 𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐭 - this book follows archer and sabrina. archer is a football player on the mavericks. sabrina has recently moved to salt lake city and is reconnecting with her brother after disappearing suddenly a few months ago. she’s trying to open her own ballet studio. archer is wary of sabrina and isn’t trusting her intentions, especially since she only reached out after her brother became a big deal. she was adopted and he lived with their birth parents for a while before moving in with archer (not blood siblings) archer is deaf, he wears hearing aids but still uses sign language and reads lips. sabrina and archer have chemistry but they don’t want to cause drifts between her brother just after getting close with him. he doesn’t mind and they get together. lot’s of drama with found family!! there is spice in this book

okay so this was actually so enjoyable and refreshing from all the cliche silly romcoms i usually read, i loved the disability rep in this and it was done so well. the story flowed really well and it was easy to read long parts in a single setting. i definitely want to check out the rest of the holland brothers series soon.

────୨ৎ────

꒰ 🩰 ꒱ 𝐬𝐚𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐚 - she’s so sweet and i genuinely have no reason to dislike her, she wasn’t giving pick me in any way and was just so caring towards archer even though he disliked her. i loved the way she signed to him and made sure to be in a way so he could read her lips all the time. so considerate and has a big heart. i understand her for leaving the way she did and i would 100% do the same. she’s very likeable and adorable. her relationship with her parents is amazing and i loved seeing a positive connection with parents in this book, usually most characters have issues with family and it’s so nice to read about a having functioning family. i love the way she and london became besties, #goals. her letting brogan join her family was so cute y’all like brogan seems so fun to be around and deserves a huge family. like screw his family for leaving. it was also nice to see how passionate she was about teaching kids and opening her own studio.

“i want that. to be loved and cherished, even when i’m old and gray, and to love someone through life’s ups and downs”
➵ she literally explained how we’re all feeling & hoping for one day

“i’ve never been so into someone that the rest of the world seems to disappear.”
➵ ugh she’s so in love with archer

꒰ 🏈 ꒱ 𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫 - guys i am in love with this man. im so obsessed with his entire being and everything about him screams cinnamon roll. he’s so frickin sweet and i just want to give him a big hug. everything he’s been through as a kid and he’s so strong?! <33 he’s been deaf since he was 10 and didn’t tell his family he used subtitles for so long 😭😭 ugh and his obsession with music >> him and sabrina had the cutest and purest connection, but i loved him and brogan’s friendship. the way they were basically brothers and now have another level to their relationship. brogan is such a good friend and i love how archer has someone who’ll always have his back. also the name archer is so cute.also he read 14 books to greer and dressed up as a princess? most guys are too insecure to do that so um round of applause for that 👏👏

“i like your mouth. the way you talk is beautiful.”
➵ he’s always reading/staring at her lips bc he’s deaf but that compliment is everything

“she doesn’t make me nervous. she makes me calmer somehow. i can’t explain it.”
➵ that sounds so perfect in a relationship

“today was because of her. because i knew she was here cheering me on, loving me like no one else had. because she showed me what it is like to stand up and fight for what you want.”
➵ yes yes yes

“being with her had made me want to be a better man. she’s made me realize what’s important and what’s just noise.
➵ i love this quote sm, esp bc it’s important to his character arc and like not just trying to listen to everyone and blocking out the useless noise ifykwim

꒰ 🍓 ꒱ 𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐚 & 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫 - ahh i love them so so much!! olivia is the best friend ever and deserves the world!! she and flynn are so perfect for each other (thought this before i saw the cover reveal for their book loll) greer’s the cutest child!!

pleeeease let this be Archer's book. I NEED IT!!!

Edit: it was indeed Archer's book and it was SO GOOD!! I really love how the author worked to remind us all the things Archer was doing and thinking about at all times so his deafness/HoH wasn't slowing him down in a hearing world and how considerate his friends and teammates try to be because they LOVE HIM AND WANT HIM IN THIER LIVES (Except Graham, Fuck that guy).

- this may be an unpopular opinion but i just did not see the chemistry between the two mmcs..😶

i just felt myself putting this down a lot and not really being super interested in anything happening?.
the ending was also feeling very rushed to me, and I feel like we barley got an epilogue…

overall thoughts :
I’m pretty sure I’ve read other books from this author and wasn’t really into them..so I’m not sure if this author is for me. I probably wouldn’t recommend this to anyone, but I may read book four coming out in june??!

this rating is low but the book honestly isn’t that bad, i just should have stopped reading because i wasn’t enjoying it. it’s very low stakes and there’s zero tension, there’s also no plot tension, all that mixed together makes a boring book. i was just bored and should’ve stopped reading earlier but i love the first two books in the series.

RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨
SPICE: 🌶️🌶️

These Holland men are in a class of their own and I swear I fall in love with them more each and every single book. Archer was everything I hoped he would be and more.

This book gave me all the feels, and I have wanted Archer’s story since we first met him a few books ago. And then to have him fall for his best friend Brogan’s sister… I loved every second of it!

Sabrina also just captured my heart because of how she really and truly saw Archer. This book has a character with hearing loss and watching Archer navigate his life to accommodate those around him and not feel like a burden, it hid me in all the feels. Ans the there comes Sabrina who not only knows sign language but is just in-tuned to his needs 🥺🥺 they really were everything.

Plus we got to see our favorite boys again and I swear Brogan is just the gift that keeps on giving. I think one of my favorite moments was him finding out about Archer and Sabrina because it reinforced why their bond is so special!

Rebecca always delivers and I expected nothing less than amazing. Now it’s time for Flynn to Shine 😉

Basically haven’t stopped thinking of these two since I finished their book. Loved every single second of it! I wasn’t sure how much i was going to enjoy it based off how stand-offish Archer was in the beginning (for good reason though). I will say, the star of the show in this book was still Brogan. I love him and his sweet little golden retriever self.

Thank you to Rebecca & her team for the eARC! I can’t wait for the final Holland brother’s book in a few months :)

4/5⭐
1,5/5🌶️

"I think I could sit with you anywhere, any time and feel like the luckiest guy in the world."

This was my first time reading a book by Rebecca, and I was not disappointed! I've been wanting to dive into her stories for ages, and I finally got the chance to read this ARC. The journey between Archer and Sabrina starts a little rocky. After Sabrina learns that Brogan is her brother, she’s eager to build a connection with him. But when an emergency pulls her away suddenly, she finds herself back months later, and Archer is a bit on edge about her return. As Brogan’s best friend, Archer feels protective and struggles to trust that Sabrina will stick around. Despite the tension, Sabrina is determined to make things work, and she looks for an apartment. When Brogan offers her a place in the apartment he shares with Archer and his fiancée, London, Archer’s feelings get complicated. At first, he tries to keep his distance because he's attracted to her, but as time goes by, he begins to see that she can be trusted. His attraction to her becomes impossible for him to ignore.

"I don't know what I did to deserve you. But I'm not letting you go now that I've got you."

In the beginning, Archer can come off as a bit of a jerk to Sabrina, but you can tell his heart is in the right place. He cares about Brogan deeply and doesn’t want to see him hurt. Once Archer realizes he’s misjudged Sabrina, he apologizes and tries to become her friend. I loved how sweet and thoughtful he became, helping her pursue her dreams and being there for her no matter what. Sabrina is a fantastic character. Her understanding of Archer’s struggles and her patience with him is touching. Watching their relationship blossom was so heartwarming—they’re just adorable together!

The found family aspect of this book is wonderful. The bond between Brogan and Archer’s family is so evident, and it’s clear they care deeply for one another. It was also amazing to see Sabrina and Brogan develop their brother-sister relationship, as they genuinely want to support each other. Plus, the representation of an MMC with hearing impairment is fantastic. Seeing how the teammates always make sure Archer can read their lips when they talk was heartwarming. Overall, this was a light, sweet, and heartwarming read! There aren’t too many open-door scenes, which I thought fit perfectly with the story.

"Being with her has made me want to be a better man. She's made me realize what's important and what's just noise."

Every time I read a new book in this series, the MMC becomes my new favorite Holland brother. I adored Archer in The Playbook and I'm so excited we now have Archer's story!

Archer is much more guarded than his brothers and has faced many challenges with losing his hearing and adapting life to meet his needs. He hates asking for accommodations or feeling like a his hearing loss is a burden on others. I was so sad for him any time he mentioned this. Luckily he has an amazing group of friends, family, and team (for the most part) that don't see his extra needs as a burden and simply adapt for him. I absolutely loved the use of ASL in this book and even more so loved that Sarina was able to communicate with Archer in ASL.

Sabrina is Brogan's surprise sister and Archer doesn't trust her after she appeared in his life one day then was soon gone with no explanation. Now she is back and needing a place to stay while getting her life back on track and pursuing her dream of opening a dance studio. Brogan convinces Sabrina to stay in their extra bedroom, despite her and Archer's dislike for each other. As it goes, dislike soon becomes friends, and of course friends become lovers.

I adored this book from the first page. I love the friendship/brotherly relationship between Archer and Brogan. This book had all the tension, witty banter, good laughs, and plenty of spice, which is everything I love in a romance read. I also really enjoyed the roles that the other brothers and side characters played in this story. Archer and Sabrina's love story has been one of my favorites to read. Rebecca is the queen of sports romance and never disappoints! Her inclusion of a main character with hearing loss and use of ASL is such a bright spot in the world that needs more inclusion and representation of others with disabilities and different needs. I loved that everyone has never ending love and support for Archer and how perfectly Sabrina fits in with the Holland family. Archer and Sabrina are truly the perfect pair.

Comeback is the 3rd book in the Holland Brothers series which I’ve been devouring by Rebecca Jenshak! This one is best friend’s sister, broody tattooed hero, forced proximity (roommates), sports romance (football x dancer), with ASL (he is Deaf) and chronic illness rep (she has asthma).

Archer and Sabrina are so cute together and I loved this pairing! We get lots of time with Brogan and London in this one (the couple of Playbook) since Brogan is Sabrina’s brother and all 4 live together as well when Sabrina ends up needing a place to live. Sabrina is new to Brogan’s life and I loved how Archer is super protective over his best friend and doesn’t want Sabrina to be another person in his life disappointing him. So they get off to a rough start but it quickly changes!

Sabrina is a dancer and in the process of remodeling her very own dance studio to open. Archer is a football player and ready to prove himself to the team after an injury took him out of the previous season. I loved all the found family vibes in this with her parents, Brogan and the rest of the Holland brothers. I loved how much Sabrina and Archer were there for one another in this book, I love all the friends, and I’m super excited for the next book in the series as we meet the heroine in this one! This series has just been so good!

I received an ARC, all thoughts in this review are my own.

Idk how to put this nicely but I geniunely felt every character was so cringe (had loser qualities)

absolutely adored the found family! however..,. Brogan was way too much and we saw wayyyy too much of him.

loved the representation of the MMC but at times i would criiiiinge when he would say how excited he was over a party ? and would rush to get ready?

just me? LOL. dialogue was just weird and they all felt too over the top and just unrealistic

IDK.

Quick Opinion:
I know that's pretty far to call it quits, but I was bored. It was kind of...cheesy. Way too easy and fluffy for my liking. Even the "jerk" H wasn't all that jerkish and the reveal to the brother was anticlimactic 🤷🏻‍♀️ Other readers might like it but I just felt underwhelmed

Ok, this was exactly what I was needing. A cozy, green flag romance that had such a nice easy flow that made reading it a breeze. Tropes are brothers best friend, roommates. What drew me to this book is that the MMC is hearing impaired - so there is ASL representation also in this book and I loved it. Honestly, did not realize a guy being wholly focused on your lips could be so attractive.

Sabrina has just moved back to town, trying to settle in and start her dream of having her own dance studio and getting to know her long lost brother Brogan. When Brogan hears that Sabrina needs a place to stay - he offers her the spare room in his apartment - much to the chagrin of the sassy, pouty and protective Archer who does not trust or want Sabrina around. Although neither can deny the chemistry they share, but their beginning is rough. But as Sabrina learns more about Archer, and he about her - they learn that maybe they can be more than just roommates. But how will Brogan react to his best friend and his sister growing closer? Also not to mention Brogan and Archer are both pro football players on the same team.

Comeback by Rebecca Jenshak

The 3rd book in the Holland Brothers series released today and I couldn’t be more excited. Archer’s story is one that I highly anticipated and it did not disappoint.

Sabrina is Brogan’s long lost sister and when she moves to town looking for a place to stay her brother comes to the rescue. Rooming with him seems like a great idea because they have a chance to know each other more, but with Brogan comes his broody roommate, Archer. Archer is very hesitant about Sabrina because he’s protective of bis best friend and doesn’t want to see him get hurt. He also can’t deny the fact that whenever Sabrina walks into a room he can’t keep his eyes off her.

I am obsessed with this entire series! Even though they are all brothers (Brogan is not blood related. Had to clarify since this is about his sister and Archer), you also get a sense of found family because they all came together to support each other when they had no one else. I love seeing all of these characters find their happy endings and fall in love.

Chronic Illness Rep

Omg! Omg! Omg! This was just the cutest book that I have read in a while! I was so excited about Archer’s book and I couldn’t wait to see what happens between him and Sabrina. This book was just so much more than I expected!

The representation of ASL was everything! I absolutely loved seeing Archer have people who treated him well and made the necessary adjustments to make his life a little bit easier on him! Also the friendship between Archer and Brogan was just everything! Especially when Archer starts liking Sabrina!

Sabrina and Archer together was just everything! There was no drama between them when they got together and I just loved seeing them so happy and complimenting each other so completely. I cannot wait to get more glimpses of them in future books!

This book had everything. There was the tension, the banter, found family, the family dynamics was just everything! I don’t think I could love this book even more than I already do. I cannot wait for Flynn’s book but you definitely need to read this book because it has everything and you will not be disappointed. All I want to do is read it again and again!
