Eyes Over Africa

Rate this book
In 2006, to fulfill a long-held dream, widely acclaimed photographer Michael Poliza and friend Stefan Breuer undertook a helicopter journey across Africa. Skimming close to the ground, they flew over 19 countries. Poliza's alluring and often surprising photographs share this exceptional journey with the world. With a bird's-eye view, we witness the astounding beauty, scale, and diversity of this imposing continent. The accompanying texts give a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the photographs, and brief background to some of the most fascinating subject matters.

Displayed in this book are the marvelous works of Michael Poliza in Africa.

It was a bit of fate that lead me to this book. Prior to my discovery of Poliza, I had not yet been a fan of landscape photography. Yet when I got a taste of this book, I knew I'd fallen in love. So I bought it.

The scope of Poliza's work is portrayed perfectly in this book...the view of Africa from above is something like no other, and Poliza is one crafty man: some of the images even resemble outer space.

I can't wait to see the beauty that will be brought to my eyes with his upcoming South Africa book.
