Rhett

I’m the eldest Swift brother, the one who should have taken care of my siblings and protected them, but I’ve never been the kind of brother they deserve.

Both Morgan and East had the courage to walk away from our abusive father before I did, but now that I have, there’s no turning back. With that comes the realization that my whole life has been spent trying to be exactly what my father wanted, what I hate.

My brothers are moving on with their lives, and that brings Tripp Cassidy and his daughter, Meadow, into my orbit. For a reason I can’t understand, they both seem to like me. Tripp asks me about my favorite things, pushes me to figure out my dreams, and at thirteen years old, Meadow knows herself better than I ever have.

Every day I spend with Tripp, I can’t stop myself from looking at him differently, from craving him like I’ve never craved anyone. I haven’t been with a man, but from Tripp’s first touch, I never want him to stop.

There’s a lot to figure out—Tripp has been burned by love before, and he has Meadow to consider. I’m still working through my guilt and learning how to be the brother and man I’ve always wished I’d been. But for the first time in my life, true happiness is within reach, if only I could find a way to grab it.

Rhett is the emotional, hopeful, final book in the Swift Brothers series. It’s a small-town, hurt/comfort, single-dad romance with mature characters, demisexual awakening, strong family vibes, and the happily ever after they deserve. Rhett deals with sensitive themes of grief, loss of a parent/sibling (in the past), verbal/emotional abuse by a parent.

God please whatever happens please let this book not "redeem" Gregory that's all I'm asking . I hope a cartoonishly large anvil falls on him.

I knew Rhett was going to end up being my favourite Swift brother 🥺🥺

I just wanted to hug Rhett so hard for the entire book. Tripp is amazing the way he supports Rhett in finding who he actually is after so many years of living as his dad's extension. I loved the way he would ask a simple question and had his 'Rhett' list 🥺 Seeing Rhett come alive and discover things about himself was just the best feeling.

Rhett and his bond with Meadow was also super cute - I loved the whole birthday gift situation!

Seeing the brothers repairing their relationships and coming together as an actual family had me all emotional too. I've really enjoyed getting to know the Swift brothers and seeing their recoveries from their traumatic childhood.

Rhett is the culmination of a fantastic emotional trilogy featuring the Swift Brothers. Rhett is the oldest Swift brother and a perfectionist who is always trying his best to be perfect for his overbearing and irrational father. Now after twenty years, Rhett is finally on a journey of self-discovery and healing. I was so proud and in awe of this man and his ability to own his past while working hard on improving and correcting his future.

I love how Rhett falls for the best person who makes him feel safe, heard, and seen. Watching Tripp and Rhett slowly fall for one another is completely endearing and sweet. Rhett lets down all his guards while revealing such a private and vulnerable side.

Overall I loved this story and will miss these brothers. I am so glad they found peace and will have the most amazing future together.

He makes me feel good, makes me want, and I crave holding on to that, grabbing hold and taking it in because it’s so damn unfamiliar to me.

First things first, long time no see. I cannot even begin to describe in how bad of a reading slump I have been in for the past year and a half, it was absolute hell for me. I read about 6 books in all of 2024 and this is the first book I successfully finished in 2025. Out of the six books I read last year, was Easton by RIley Hart (the second book in this series) which I absolutely adored and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Rhett’s book. This was my most anticipated release of the year so far and it delivered everything I wanted and so much more. I read this book back in March, for my birthday, and it was the best gift I could have given myself!

I could not put this book down, which is very impressive if you consider that it’s the first book I have read since November of last year. This book was just so special and it meant everything to me. This was just THE perfect book for me, in every sense of the word. If you were to make a list of everything I love reading about and cross them off one by one based on things that happen in Rhett, each and every one of them would be crossed off by the time you finish reading the book.

I want to kiss him and laugh with him and pretend I know how to be happy.

A broken down main character that is trying to find his place in the world and just needs a good hug or 30? Check.
A main character that never got to discover who he is, finally discovering what makes him thick? Check.
A main character that has been lonely for years and wary of getting in a relationship but finally found his perfect and cannot deny their pull towards each other?
Endering characters that makes me want to jump into the book so I can tell them that everyone will be okay? Check.
Two main characters finding their way to each other and making the world a better for each other to exist in? Check.
The biggest amount of comfort and love intertwined in every action that the main characters did? Check.

The way I love this series…

Rhett was everything. His character growth was such a beautiful thing to witness and I was surprised at how layered he was. Some of the things he believed about himself hurt so much.

Tripp…Tripp Cassidy. The man that you are. One of the kindest souls. The best dad. The most accepting person. The way he noticed that there’s more to Rhett. Giving him a friendship so easily. Getting to know him and treating him like no one ever had before. I love him. I’m obsessed with him!😭

The communication in this book is out of this world. Rhett was honest to a fault and Tripp was always willing to discuss and share anything. Love to see it!

Riley never misses. The Swift brothers have a special place in my heart. Them finding happiness with their partners AND with each other has been such a healing process. These books just fixed something in me. I’m just so happy that they can finally find themselves and are free and healing!

The way I have been counting down the days until I could get my hands on this book! And it was so worth the wait! Rhett and Tripp’s story is seriously the sweetest thing ever, the relationship they have is so wonderful. I also loved getting more of the brothers together, seeing their relationships heal. I’m sad it’s over but the ending was truly beautiful.

My new favorite book of 2025!

I was thrilled to read Rhett’s story ‘cause when we met him in the first book, I knew he was more than just a sibling who’d do everything his abusive parent told him to. And oh boy, I was not wrong.

I think, despite the fact that I’m the youngest in my family, Rhett’s personality resonated with me to a point I sometimes felt like I was reading bits of my own experiences, and thus, I wanted nothing more but to see him get his happy ending.

Rhett’s a pretty simple man –you see, he likes to build and create things ‘cause that’s where he sees his worth and even though he’s a grown man, he’s still learning new things about himself, such as his sexuality and what his dreams would look like now he’s out of his father’s golden cage.

I think Tripp (and his daughter Meadow) were the perfect addition to his life ‘cause they made him feel seen, cared for and understood. He found a real family in them and in addition to therapy sessions, he also built a new relationship with Morgan and Easton.

I believe no one truly knows exactly what is going on behind closed doors but I’m glad Tripp took a leap of faith and believed there was more of Rhett to see than just the son of a congress man. I’m glad he gave Rhett a job, a safe place to be himself, but most of all, I’m glad he gave himself another chance to love someone. He’s the best father and partner one could ever ask for.

Both of them grew so much and I absolutely loved the demi representation in this one. I was moved by how they threaded their relationship, how they built their intimacy and how they often talked about whatever was in their heads.

I think you cannot choose which parts of someone to love: it’s the full package or none at all, and they reminded me true love is unconditional. You can always come out of your shell and become the one you were always supposed to be thanks to people supporting you.

I’m not kidding when I tell you this was my favorite of the trilogy and I’m thankful these three brothers found their HEA. They deserved nothing but the best!

“Who are you?”
“I don’t know.”
“We’re gonna have to figure that out.”

Wait let me grab a couple of tissues first because let me tell you, the waterworks were real, folks. I knew i was gonna love Rhett the most. I just did. My heart bled for him and his brothers and i cried and smiled along with their journey growth, healing and finding themselves with the support of their men and loved ones.

"My lips burn with the kiss, but in a good way, like sun against your skin when you’ve spent too much time being cold. Tripp is like a warm jacket in the middle of winter, a mug of hot chocolate in freezing hands."

Rhett's story was heart breakingly emotional, his sexual awakening handled with perfect sensitivity and care and his relationship buildup with Tripp and Meadow wasn't rushed and so, so perfectly done. Rhett and Tripp were just so tender and excruciatingly beautiful, I loved every second of this book.

“What are you smiling at?”

Rhett was the perfect and highly emotional finish to the Swift Brothers series and so worth your time.

Oh Rhett, so much anxiety and so many walls... I honestly didn’t know what to expect from Rhett after seeing him in Morgan and Easton’s stories. He wasn’t my favourite person after Morgan’s book, but I felt like there was a lot more to him than his brothers knew, and my feeling was on point.

Rhett was a touching story, the emotional abuse that these boys went through broke my heart and it was a relief to see them trying to put the past behind them and move on. It was far from easy, as they struggled with communicating and had a lot of unresolved anger and guilt between the three of them. I loved to see their tentative connection that started to form in this story, and how settled Morgan and Easton seemed to be in their lives and relationships.

It was clear that Rhett was struggling with a lot of things though, and he was doing his best to keep people out. Tripp was determined to be his friend, and he was amazing with Rhett, giving him the time and patience that he needed. They were perfect for each other and it was such a treat to see Rhett finding himself and starting to thrive. I also loved the relationship between Rhett and Tripp’s daughter Meadow, she was an amazing character and I adored the bond they formed!

Rhett was a fantastic and highly emotional finish to the Swift Brothers series! I’ve loved following the Swift brothers on their journeys full of self discoveries, trying to find themselves and heal from their childhood trauma. Riley Hart has written an amazing series, with all the feels and a heavy focus on mental health, and it’s been very interesting to see the brothers from each other’s perspectives. If you haven’t picked up this series yet, I strongly recommend you to do so - it might break your heart, but it’s totally worth it in the end!

I knew...I just knew this book would be both amazing AND heartbreaking. I have been so invested in the story of these three brothers. Morgan, Easton and Rhett have been put through some hell because of their father. He dishes out the kind of abuse that no one sees, and the long term trauma from it is a lot for these brothers to overcome.

This review doesn't have spoilers, but may be things you don't want to know if you haven't read books one & two.

I knew Rhett was gonna be my favorite. I love misunderstood characters. There is something so amazing about reading how they change, and how people's perception of them change. One awesome thing in this book is that we literally get Rhett's side of the past in flashbacks from his POV. Its amazing, and so true to life that there are so many sides to the truth.... they are not wrong, they just are. I feel like this book is equal parts romance, and a family drama. There is so much healing and coming together for these brothers, its so emotional and so well done. And lets talk about Tripp - the kindest MC ever and the most wonderful Father. Oh my goodness. This ginger has it all! And his daughter Meadow - she is what made me tear up in this book. I expected the emotional reaction about the brothers, but the bits we received from Meadow... one of those characters that should be protected at all costs. Loved her!

Anyway, as you can tell I loved the series. Start with book one though, you have to start at the beginning to get the full effect of what these guys have been through, and what they all overcome. A wonderful HEA for them all!

What a great ending to the Swift brothers series. East will always be my fav Swift brother, however, Rhett comes in at second. That man was so misunderstood, hard on himself, seeking love, and wanting his dad’s approval.

Their childhood was so messed up, always pitted against each other but they found their back to one another. I loved how they each went to therapy on their own and as a group. It really showed how badly each of them wanted to repair their relationship.

Seeing Rhett go from this insecure, sad guy to confident and happy was beautiful. It was all thanks to Tripp being by his side, the only person to ever choose him. Rhett might not of had a lot of love growing up but he gained it through Tripp, Tripp’s family, his brothers, and their partners. It was nice to see Dusty and Rhett being close friends again as well.

Tripp was the perfect man for Rhett, he was understanding and patient. He could tell what Rhett needed and was prepared to give it to him each time. Rhett’s bond with Meadow was adorable, they got along so well. I really adored the ending and seeing East and Archer as fathers. That butterfly scene was extra special.

I highly recommend reading the series in order to fully grasp and enjoy the story of these brothers. Each book is heavy on the found family and healing past traumas.

- Trans child
- Small town
- Demi-awakening

Oomph.

I knew RHETT would have me in my feels, and I was right. There was just a giant gaping loneliness to Rhett that had me so sad. He was trying so hard to become the man he wanted to be, and that's never an easy thing. And he just kept on trying.

I loved Tripp for Rhett. I loved his determination to be Rhett's friend. I loved how Tripp yearned to know him.

Sweet Rhett was like a flower blooming for Tripp and his positive attention, too. There are so many examples I could leave here. Just trust me. It was great.

The sex scenes were sparse, but well done. Tripp and Rhett's dynamic was lovely, and I especially loved Rhett's awakening. I'll leave his label/identity a surprise, but I was so here for it.

As much as I lived for the romance - it was the Swift Brothers who stole the show for me. Rhett, Morgan, and Easton navigating their own trauma and what it means to be brothers was such a joy to watch. I cried, for real.

The epiloge had me crying too.

RHETT is out April 9th, and I can't recommend these books enough. Navigating mental health and childhood trauma is not easy. Period. But Riley tells their stories in such a relatable way.

The Swift Brothers aren't smut books. They're BIG FEELINGS books. Happy reading!

“I have an us, and I never want to lose it.”

This book was emotionally charged. Feelings all over the place being explored and delved into. Grief, anxiety, self doubt, family relationships…
I don’t cry with books. I can feel bad or sad about the characters, even have my heart hurt for them but not crying real tears. Yet this mf had me bawling by page 100.

“Tripp is like a warm jacket in the middle of winter, a mug of hot chocolate in freezing hands.”

Rhett was a sweetheart with the worst father ever. He was a good big brother but growing up admiring his father fucked him up and in turn fucked his relationship with his brothers.
It’s always good, doesn’t matter at what point, that someone decides to go to therapy. That person is ready to change, heal and learn about themselves and how to be better. And Rhett doing it for himself is the best part. He stole my heart. His tortured soul, his caring ways, how his mind worked was just so perfectly portrayed you couldn’t help but feel so much empathy for him.

“I trust you”

Tripp was such a good dad. That’s the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of him. He was open, accepting and supportive. And he somehow transmitted this vibes to his relationship with Rhett.

“I want the marks. Want to know he was so damn hungry for me, he could barely control himself.”

And Meadow was also a star in this show. She was bright, honest and wise beyond her years. Her relationship with her dad, as well as her relationship with Rhett were highlights of this book for me. They also made my chest painfully tight with emotion.

Not content with giving me all the feels with the humans Riley had to throw in disabled pets. As an owner of multiple ones it hit harder than ever because I was already emotional.

Riley I’m sending you the therapy bill and you’ll have to be the one to explain to the therapist why I was crying about fictional characters.

Thank you to Literally Yours and Riley for this e-arc!!

I had mixed feelings about Rhett when we first met him in Morgan, the first book of the series. However, in Easton, the second book, I felt deeply for him and eagerly anticipated his story. Let me tell you—this was a wonderful book and the perfect conclusion to The Swift Brothers series.

As the eldest Swift brother, Rhett always craved his father’s attention. In doing so, he neglected his siblings and their struggles, creating a rift between them. Now, free from his father’s influence, he is determined to live for himself and mend his relationships with his brothers. Along this emotional and transformative journey, Tripp stands beside him, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

We first met Tripp Cassidy in the previous book as Archer’s best friend and the devoted father of Meadow, an incredible child. I adored the glimpses of Rhett and Meadow’s interactions in Easton, but in this book, their bond was truly special.

I loved how Tripp and Meadow welcomed Rhett into their lives, making him feel at home. The three of them shared some truly heartwarming moments. As Tripp and Rhett worked together, an undeniable attraction grew between them—one they both feared yet couldn’t ignore. Their communication was refreshing, and their intimate moments were both passionate and deeply emotional. Some of my favorite scenes were when Tripp supported and cared for Rhett, showing just how much he meant to him.

Watching Rhett repair his relationship with Morgan and Easton and reconnect with his brothers was incredibly satisfying. The inclusion of Ella in this story added a heartwarming touch, making it even more meaningful. The epilogue was the perfect ending—sweet, fulfilling, and well-deserved for all the Swift brothers and their partners.

Overall, this book delivered a perfect conclusion to the series. I highly recommend The Swift Brothers—it’s a must-read!

Time to take a trip back to BirchBark. Can’t believe we finally have Rhett’s story. At first I didn’t know if I could fall in love with Rhett. He’s been closed off, cold, angry and sometimes I questioned how he could be redeemed. Well Riley showed me she can do ANYTHING and gave this man his perfect story.

We’ve learned that Rhett is working on himself and my goodness, being inside Rhett’s head made me love him so much. Goodness he is so hard on himself! He needs things a certain way and he has so much guilt over how his life has played out. We get to see why he is the way he is and what his father did to make him this way. We got to see his point of view for his relationship with his brothers. Along the way we get to watch Rhett make friends with Tripp Cassidy and his daughter Meadow.

Tripp Cassidy. World’s most patient man who doesn’t want anything to break his heart or his daughters. A man who is selfless and has the biggest heart. Who pays attention is the little details and makes items of them in his phone. Tripp doesn’t know how to let himself be loved without fear of things not working out. Once he is able to let himself open up we get to watch these two fall in love and oh my goodness it is the sweetest swooniest time.

What I love most about this series is the relationships between the Swift brothers. These relationships are equal to the romantic aspect of this book. As much as Rhett and Tripp are falling in love Rhett is working on his relationship with Morgan and Easton and my goodness it’s beautiful to watch. They have had to rework so much of what they think of themselves and each other to build a bond that can’t be broken.

Obviously I could go on and on and on about this book. I just love it so much. So make sure to go check out Rhett today!

Rhett is book three in the Swift Brothers series. This hurt/comfort, small town MM romance story is about Rhett and Tripp.

I did not care for Rhett when we first met him in Morgan, but I will say that I was interested in getting his story after reading Easton. Boy did my heart hurt for Rhett and everything he went through growing up. His father was so manipulative and just awful. I was glad to see Rhett working on himself and wanting to make things better with his brothers.

I also loved how Rhett started hanging out with Tripp and his daughter Meadow. They both had the biggest heart. Tripp quickly learned Rhett isn’t who or what he thought he was, and it was great seeing them get to know one another. Tripp was a carpenter and when he found out Rhett had a love for woodworking, he offered him a job. I was happy Rhett accepted and that he started doing something that brought him joy. Rhett and Tripp were good for each other. It was a joy to see Rhett discover who he was, with Tripp being there for him.

Rhett and his brothers certainly took us on an emotional journey, and it was beautiful to see them heal and find peace. They had the most supportive partners and their found family was truly amazing. It was wonderful to see them all get the happiness they deserved.

I received an advanced copy of this book, and this is my honest review.

“I like him. I just really fucking like Rhett Swift. He’s a good man who doesn’t see it, and I crave being around him.”

“My lips burn with the kiss, but in a good way, like sun against your skin when you’ve spent too much time being cold. Tripp is like a warm jacket in the middle of winter, a mug of hot chocolate in freezing hands.”

“I’ve been wanting to do that for a while now. I’ve been wanting you.”

This story was wonderfully surprising in some ways for me, I have been so curious about Rhett’s experience and it is a heartbreaking one. When I read a Riley Hart I expect to be touched, my emotions fully engaged and this obviously happened but I was so happy this was also low angst but full of feels slide into love. They both deserved for something to come serendipitously to them. There was also a surprising about of spice in the book, these two were hot and tiny bit k1nky - I was here for it.
I loved that the brothers started forging their bonds which were stifled by an abusive parent. It was wonderful to see the healing there.
I adored Meadow (and I am little intimidated by her and how comfortable she is in her skin at such a young age)

A Joyfully Jay review.

4 stars

Rhett is the final book in the Swift Brothers series and it brings more insight into Rhett, the oldest Swift brother. Seen through the eyes of his brothers in previous books, Rhett wasn’t a particularly likable character, but I knew there was a lot more to him due to his family background. Rhett wanted to please his father at the expense of everything else. His father was a controlling and demanding man and, after Rhett’s mother died, and then his younger sister, things got worse. Now, Rhett has given up practicing law, he’s divorced, and he’s distanced himself from his father. He would like to start to make amends with his brothers, but he has no idea where to start and it’s painful to watch them all try and connect.

This was a good wrap up to the series, as all the Swift brothers find their HEA. This book works best as part of the series for the best continuity, and if you want a series about finally finding family, both blood related and not, you would want to meet the Swift brothers.

Words can not describe the beauty that is the final piece of the Swift Brothers series. Each Brother has suffered in their own way, and it was a powerful thing to see these men to get their closure at long last. Rhett is learning how to finally be himself after so long trying to please a man who didn't deserve it. Enter Tripp and Meadow their relationship shows Rhett what a true parent should be. The build-up for their relationship is magical, and in a way, only Riley seems to pull off in the demisexual representation. You feel the connection forming and growing and understand completely how it happens and when it needs to.
This final piece of trilogy gives us hope after the pain and anger of the previous installments. Our three brothers received the therapy and closure they so needed to move on. Each man now leaves with each other and men who make them better and who they should have always been if someone would have given them a chance to shine.

I really enjoyed the first book on this series, but this one didn't hold up nearly as well. I was looking forward to reading Rhett's story, but I ended up being pretty bored by the halfway mark. All the characters are lovely but it wasn't enough to keep going for 250 pages. I do like Tripp and Rhett together and I think their relationship was sweet. I liked Meadow, but I got tired of constantly hearing how amazing she is. At least I'm glad all three brothers finally got their HEA.

Rhett is the oldest Swift brother and is trying to figure out who he actually is after finally walking away from his abusive father. As his brothers move on and heal, Rhett meets Tripp, a single father who extends his kindness to Rhett. Tripp is wary of falling for anyone after his wife left years ago, but he can't help but be intrigued by Rhett. He's nothing like Tripp imagined and as they grow close, they find what's been missing from their lives all along.

Rhett is a perfectionist who's trying to find himself and recover from his dad's abuse. He's stoic, a bit quirky, and at first appears closed off, but underneath it all he's a kind man who actively tries to do the best by his family, even if it is difficult. Tripp and his daughter Meadow open up their lives to Rhett, and he couldn't fit more perfectly. Tripp genuinely cares about Rhett's interests and thoughts, taking care of him in a way he's never had before. Tripp is an amazing human, the perfect, accepting dad for Meadow and partner for Rhett. Rhett brings his own care and compassion for Tripp, and together they create a sweet, loving family.

There wasn't anything wrong with this book, I just wasn't very invested or captivated. I think if I read this series all at once instead of months between each, reading them as they came out, they would've had more impact. They're all sweet, emotional stories about finding yourself and deciding you deserve love and happiness. It was heartwarming to watch all the brothers move on from their childhood trauma to make the happy family they always wanted. The epilogue did have me tearing up a bit, it was an endearing and satisfying happily ever after for everyone.

When I read Morgan, I disliked Rhett a first sight for obvious reasons. I was honestly a little skeptical about his book because, come on, he was not that great, he behaved horribly with their brothers. But at the same time I really craved his book because if there is one author in this world who can make me change my mind and love imperfect men, well, it’s definitely Riley Hart.
After reading Easton I knew I would fall in love with Rhett too: his wall were starting to crumble and we had glimpses of his pain and also of his trueself.
I devoured his book in one sitting: I have no words to describe how wonderful Rhett is, it was like when the restorers finish working on a paint and under several layers of worthless paintings, they discover a masterpiece.
Rhett is like this, a wonderful soul, a caring brother, a loving partner, an imperfect man and so so much more.
I’m not going to spoil anything, but I need to say these two things:
First, I had conflicted feelings towards Rhett's mother since the first book and I loved that the author pointed them out here too: she was a victim of her narcissistic husband, but she still could have done more for her children and trying harder to let Rhett feeling that he was loved too.
Second, Rhett's relationship with Meadow is beyond wonderful and I really really loved that he had her in his life.

Absolutely worth all the tears. Highly recommended.

I received an ARC of this book from the author and this is my honest review

this was not the book I thought it was going to be, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

I kind of was waiting for Rhett because I am a sucker for a sibling who feels like they have to prove themselves or like they have to constantly stay perfect or be better. Rhett goes through a lot since young, much like his brothers, but he is directly on his father’s eye, trying to please him and letting himself be molded into what his father wants.

We see him here trying to change and find himself from the start. Which was a nice story to follow. I expected pain, in a way, more than what we read. As in, even though we saw in the previous book that Rhett was speaking up against his father, I kind of expected there to be more push and pull and pain here—more conflict within Rhett that made us be at the edge of our seats. However, as i kept reading I understood why we didn’t exactly get that. Or, at least I found reasoning in my mind as to why we didn’t get that. He opened his eyes to his father, and was going to therapy, it wouldn’t have made sense for him to be going all backwards with the way the boon started.

Rhett and Tripp were cute, and I adored Meadow. Truly we see how adults get together when they’re striving to be better. It’s a straightforward healing story. Nothing too much in any way.

2.75, and rounding it up because my heart still goes out to Rhett.

Finally, Easton and Arch win favorite couple! 🧚🏽

He’s confusing… and sad… and lost. I’m fairly certain Rhett Swift is lost.
And for a reason I can’t explain, I want to be there when he finds himself.

This was a beautiful end to the Swift Brothers series. We finally get to know Rhett Swift and see him try to remake himself and be the man and brother he always wanted to be. He was a hard character to get a read on in the first two books, mainly because he was always so standoffish, and every time he interacted with one of his brothers, it resulted in a fight. But we finally get to see all he endured at the hands of his father and the immense pressure placed on his shoulders, and my heart went out to him. His father had damaged him so badly; it was heartbreaking. But him finally being able to live for himself and his desire to repair his relationships with his brothers was wonderful to see.

“I’ve spent my whole life feeling alone in one way or another. With you… I don’t. It doesn’t matter to me that it’s a man making me feel this way. I just want more of it.”

Helping Rhett along his journey are Tripp Cassidy and his daughter, Meadow. They both recognized how lost Rhett was and thought he might need a friend. The slow build of the friendship between Tripp and Rhett was the sweetest. Tripp was a great guy, and I loved how he kept showing up for Rhett, being the kind of friend he needed and being patient while Rhett slowly let down his walls around him. Their progression from friends to lovers felt entirely natural, and the way they were both so open and honest with one another was great to see. A perk of having mature MCs. They made such great partners, and I loved watching them fall in love.

I also adored Rhett’s relationship with Tripp’s daughter. She was wise beyond her years, and the way she and Rhett bonded was beautiful. I loved the advice she gave him and how he opened up to her. The little family that Meadow, Rhett, and Tripp built was so sweet. Rhett finally got to experience what a family should be, and you could see that he would never take that privilege for granted.

“What are you smiling at?”
“You.”
“Us.”
“Yes. Us.”
I have an us, and I never want to lose it.

Probably the most important aspect of this book, though, was seeing all three Swift brothers come together and finally work through a lifetime of hurt and damage their father caused them. I loved all the healing and growth from all three brothers, and it warmed my heart to see how they all ended up. The epilogue was so perfect; it was everything I could have wanted for these guys, and the final few lines brought me to tears. It was the perfect way to end this series.

“I would always choose you. I’ve been waiting for you and didn’t even know it.”
