Happily Ever After All #4

Working After All

Rate this book
Return to my hometown to work for my old crush for the summer? No problem.

Audrey
Kidding. It actually is a problem, especially because I’m pretty sure Jackson doesn’t want me working for him at all. Add in our awkward history, and our shared office just got a whole lot smaller.

Even though I’m the queen of screwing up, I’m determined to prove I have what it takes to do this job. Nothing is going to distract me. This heart is on lockdown, and I’ll maintain professionalism even if it kills me.

And with sparks flying between us like the Fourth of July, it just might.

Jackson
There are life’s little inconveniences—papercuts, roadwork, taxes—and then there’s Audrey Miller. My little sister’s best friend, and the bane of my existence due to her obvious and incessant childhood crush on me.

Now Audrey’s back and all grown up—and co-managing my restaurant and event venue.

I spent years avoiding her, but now that she’s my right-hand woman, I have no choice but to spend my days with her (and even some nights—don’t ask). But it doesn’t matter, because the only thing going on between us is business. At least that’s what I tell myself.

So why is the one woman I swore I would never want suddenly the only one I do?

A forced proximity, best-friend’s-brother, sweet workplace romance with will-they-or-won’t-they tension, hilarious awkwardness, and zero explicit content!

Audrey returns home for her cousins marriage but in a broken emotional way because of an incident that caused her to lose her job and the man she was engaged to marry. Her cousin offers her a summer job to do his job while he takes an extended honeymoon. The only problem? She will have to work with his partner who she had a major crush on all through junior and senior high school; plus the fact that he hates her! However, she needs the money and he says he’s okay with her being there so she accepts it.

Audrey finds she really likes what she’s doing and makes changes to bring in more business that makes things even more profitable. Her former crush, Jackson, notices Audrey probably for the first time as a person who is competent and attractive as well and comes to her aid when she is accosted by another employee. She tells Jackson that was what happened where she worked previously and when she told her boss about it she was the one who was fired and since the person was a partner who worked with her fiancé’s dad, he didn’t believe her either and called off their wedding. Jackson now sees Audrey in a whole new light as someone who has been hurt emotionally and yet then left behind by not being believed!

Later money starts disappearing from her register and they can’t figure out what is going on so they set a trap and catch the ones who are behind it.

Audrey is ready to leave thinking Jackson still hates her when he surprises her by asking her to stay and becoming his co managing partner and as things progress his wife. Thus she has the happy ever after
with the guy she has been crazy about since she was in middle school!

I loved this story! Cece’s books just are so full of heart and warmth! I can’t help but identify with Audrey! To feel ridiculed by others all her life and then finally to have a best friend who will stand by her regardless says a lot! To think that the person she was to marry wouldn’t believe her or her work place when she told them what happened just shows
unfortunately what influence money and power have in our world today.

I heartily recommend this book and similar stories
by Cece. You’ll love her writing style and the stories
she tells! They come alive and are so lifelike it’s hard not to believe that these stories aren’t real!!

I urge you to get this book and read it today and then
check out Cece’s other books. I love her books and have read them all! What can I say! I’m a great fan and I’m proud of it! When you read this book you will be one as well!!

Working After All is the fourth book in Cece Louise’s Happily Ever After All series. I have been loving this series so far, and I loved Working After All just as much as the others. It is a delightful read full of humor, family, friends, romance, mystery, second chances, and romance. It was so good.
After Audrey loses her job and her fiancé in the same week, she decides to move home to figure out her next move and find herself again. When her cousin offers her a temporary job, she jumps at the chance even though she would have to work with Jackson, her childhood crush who was not her biggest fan. As Audrey and Jackson are forced into each other’s company, Audrey realizes that her crush on Jackson was just as strong as ever and that Jackson might have changed his feelings about her.
I adored Audrey and Jackson together and separately. Audrey was so strong and real, even though she doesn’t realize it. I loved how she handled all the challenges thrown her way. Her character arc was so well done. Jackson was so giving and loyal. He was so unaware of his own worth and his own potential. I loved how Audrey helped him to see his real worth, and how she saw it even from a young age.
Things I loved:
-best friend’s brother
-childhood crush
-“You’re a firecracker”
-the Ferris wheel
-the fireworks kiss (It was so good, and gave me To Catch a Thief vibes—IYKYK)
-Jackson telling Audrey to be Penny’s friend
-the karaoke songs
-Jackson’s letter of recommendation
I loved how Audrey and Jackson’s relationship developed and changed throughout the story. Their banter and chemistry was on full display in so many good scenes. This book was just a delight to read.

(Did i just rate a contemporary book five stars? Yes, yes i did)

🎡~Characters~🎡
(Audrey) FMC She got bullied a lot in high school and now that she's 24 (Jackson is 28) she is trying to put that behind her and start fresh. She was pretty funny, quirky and flawed (not in a bad way) I really liked her.

(Jackson) MMC He owns the town's local inn with Tucker. He is one of those protective mmcs and I liked him quite a bit.

(Tucker) AUDREY'S COUSIN & JACKSON'S BEST FRIEND His honeymoon was three months, Why was it so long? Anyway I liked him I guess.

(Melissa) TUCKER'S WIFE she was ok only there a little bit so I don't have much to say about her.

(Penny) AUDREY'S BEST FRIEND & JACKSON'S SISTER  she loves books and when she Insults people she does it with bookish or biblical references. One of the first things she did after meeting Audrey was recommend her a book. She named her dog Mr Darcy, Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy to be exact. I really liked her.

(Randy) BARTENDER AT THE INN Man this guy was a creep I didn't like him in the slightest.

🎇~Quotes~🎇
"As far as all the other things that blew up in your face, maybe that’s because they weren’t right for you. And maybe that was just the spark you needed to light a fire. Because you’re not an explosion, Audrey Miller. You’re a firecracker.”

“You’re too much, Audrey, and that’s a good thing. A good thing for anyone who is lucky enough to be in your orbit. So much that when you’re around, I can’t look away, and I don’t know what I’m going to do when you’re gone. Because now that I’ve had a glimpse of all that, I realize how empty my life is going to be without you.”

I was about to look back at the fireworks when I saw them reflected in her green eyes, which in a way, was even more spectacular.

Working After All is the fourth book in the Happily Ever After All series. While some familiar characters make appearances, this can be enjoyed just fine as a standalone too.

This was such a fun read! Audrey's character drew me in right from the start... she was such a fiery character that I couldn't help but adore. Jackson, on the other hand... well, I wasn't sure how I was going to come around to him after his rather harsh rejection of her as teenagers... but as we get to know them in the present time and see glimpses of their earlier past, I honestly couldn't help but love both of these characters. This was a rare occasion I think when I actually really saw a lot of myself in BOTH main characters--- her feeling odd and like she was 'too much' and his feeling of 'not enough' and the need to prove himself as much. I couldn't help but connect with their characters and hope for them to work through all the obstacles standing in their way to get to their happily ever after. Throw in some workplace drama and there was a whole lot to love in this story! (There was also a bit of a preview as to what's to come next... and I absolutely cannot wait!)

Working After All is a closed-door romance with kisses only and no language.

**ARC received for consideration. All opinions are my own.

I was given this book by the author as an ARC and was surprised by how much I loved it. This book was a 4.5 star read and I would highly recommend this to anyone. The story revolves around Audrey who comes back to her hometown, after losing her job in Chicago, where she has a reputation of being odd. She later steps into a manger position at her cousin’s business and has to work along side Jackson, who she has a complicated history with. This book also was not very long and I got me out of a reading slump.
The books flows very well and I like that the author did not rush the plot or character development just to move the plot forward. This is my first time reading the author’s books and I’m now very interested in reading her next book which is about Audrey’s friend, Penny.

This book had me laughing And so many other emotions in it

I love the characters somewhere quirky and silly and others were downright mean. The author had a way to make sometimes the little bit they said sounds so mean or so loving. I think we all have known somebody who's a little strange different from the rest of us This all had a deep insight Did the r That the reader gains knowledge from I believe. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to read more books in this series.

Working After All, the fourth book in the Happily Ever After All series, follows Audrey, who has recently lost her job and fiancée and returns home to attend her cousin's wedding. Know in her hometown as "Odd Audrey," she doesn't come back often but accepts her cousin's offer to take over his job while he's away on his honeymoon. It's the perfect summer reprieve for Audrey while she saves some money and plans her next steps. The only problem is she has to work with her childhood crush.

Jackson spent years avoiding his sister's best friend Audrey. So, he's less than enthused when his partner suggests Audrey work with Jackson for the summer. Jackson soon realizes Audrey is all grown up and that he, and everyone else, might have been wrong about Audrey. Though he rejected her years ago, Jackson struggles with his growing feelings, but the more time he and Audrey spend together, the harder it gets.

I always get excited when I receive an ARC from Cece Louise. Her books are so fun and charming, and I always love the characters and romances. Audrey and Jackson are no exception. At first, I didn't love Jackson and the way he treated Audrey. He's a good guy, but he sure doesn't let her down gently. Considering how much she's suffered by the mean girls in her school, it was really disappointing to see the boy she put on a pedestal speak to her so harshly, especially after he seemed to gallant. Luckily, Jackson redeemed himself and groveled enough that I ended up loving him and his relationship with Audrey.

Audrey is fantastic! She's a little spazzy and chaotic, and she's definitely the sunshine to Jackson's grump. They have such a lovely connection and more in common than they ever thought. Both characters feel like they can't escape their labels, and both have been treated poorly by past love interests, so there are a lot of complicated and confused feelings as well as a fear of being too open and vulnerable. It was lovely to see both of them slowly let their guards down and give in to their feelings. The Ferris wheel scene, the fireworks, Jackson's thoughtfulness and support, that ending! There are so many romantic and lovely scenes that totally melted my heart.

Many of the secondary characters were the main characters in the first three books, and I loved seeing how they were all doing. This series has some wonderful, swoon-worthy love stories, and though each book can be read as a standalone, if you've read them all, you'll love seeing some of your faves. Some new characters are introduced, too, and there's another romance hinted at. I can't wait to see if Jackson's sister or any of the other characters will be the focus in future books because she has a really interesting story.

A sweet, charming, and romantic story, there's also a bit of intrigue, as money starts to go missing at Audrey's work, and she and Jackson try to figure out who is sabotaging the business. There's also the issue of Jackson's ex, who also happens to be one of Audrey's worst childhood bullies, Audrey's fake engagement, and incidents in Audrey's past that resurface. It all makes for a fun, heartwarming, and entertaining read!

Reader’s Notes:

– this is part of a series, but can be read as a stand-alone

– this is told from Audrey & Jackson’s points of view

– there is a character who pushes boundaries, but another character steps in before things get too bad

Review:

I may have (definitely) accidentally read this book in one sitting! I loved coming back to the town of Halften and seeing the past history between Audrey & Jackson. The ending of Faking After All had me very curious about Audrey’s secret and the tension between the two of them. I loved that Audrey & Jackson kept teetering between ‘I shouldn’t want to pursue something with [name]’ & ‘Why can’t I?’. I loved that they worked together and that it added a different dynamic/thing they had to overcome before they could seriously consider a relationship together. I can’t wait for the next book in the series!

Summary:

Audrey hit a rough patch in her life’s plan and needs a temporary job back home while she’s there for the summer. Luckily, her cousin offers her one without even realizing she needs one. Unfortunately, her boss/coworker is Audrey’s old crush and he doesn’t seem all that thrilled with the idea of working with her. Audrey is determined to prove Jackson’s doubts wrong and make her cousin proud of her work, but when old feelings crop back up, Audrey finds herself fighting off feelings that would be inappropriate. Especially since everyone thinks she’s got a great life back in Chicago that she’s planning to return to…

Jackson used to do everything he could to avoid his little sister’s best friend, Audrey, due to her seemingly incurable crush on him. But now Jackson will have to work with her in order for his business to continue to be successful while his best friend takes time off with his new wife. And this grown up version of Audrey has Jackson catching himself paying much more attention to her than he ever thought he’d willingly do. But with them being coworkers, that would hardly be an appropriate relationship to pursue, right?

This book has so many things I love. Best friend’s brother, forced proximity, childhood crush (one-sided), with a bit of second chance romance.

Audrey is quirky and cute and I adore her. She’s loved Jackson since she was just an awkward outcast nine-year-old.

Jackson’s only seen Audrey as his younger sister’s odd friend.

Audrey’s come back to her home town looking for a summer job to get back on her feet after losing her job and her fiancé. She had no idea she’d be thrown together with her old crush, helping out at his Inn for the summer. Jackson isn’t too happy about it either. He’d rather stay away from the girl he rejected as a teenager.

I loved Audrey and Jackson’s interactions. Audrey has such an upbeat attitude despite having been made fun of and knocked down her whole life. Jackson is hesitant around Audrey at first, not wanting her to get the wrong idea, but as they work together, he starts to see how amazing Audrey is. She’s smart, she’s feisty, she’s talented, she’s beautiful, and she’s strong. She gets to him like no one else has. I loved seeing Jackson’s feelings shift and blossom. Oh so good!!!!

Some favorites:
📦Box fort
🎤Karaoke
🎡Ferris wheel wishes
🎆4th of July fireworks
🎡The epilogue

I seriously didn’t want this to end. I just loved Audrey and Jackson’s connection so much. This is a must read rom-com.

I received a complimentary copy, but a positive review was not required.

A delightful read, it’s a sweet, heartwarming, slow burn romance that's clean, nothing more on the pages than a heart racing kiss - heart racing for the characters, not the readers.
Audrey and Penny are best friends, Audrey being labelled odd by her peers didn't bother Penny when she arrived in town during their school years, cementing their firm friendship. But Audrey had a major crush on Penny's older brother Jackson, one he absolutely destroyed one night with a brutal rejection.
Fast forward a few years as Audrey arrives back in town for her cousin's wedding with the intention to stay the summer, looking for a job and leaving her fiancé in Chicago studying for his bar exam.
All is not as it seems and after landing a job filling in for Tucker while he's on his honeymoon, alongside Jackson, all that happened in Chicago comes to light as Jackson sees Audrey in a different light and feelings develop.
There's some drama, lots of lightheartedness and swoony moments as these two dance around their growing feelings while tackling deception and a thief at work.
This is easy to read and will leave you smiling as these two finally get together. Very enjoyable.

We could all use ‘a fresh coat of paint’
I appreciate that the author took us back to Audrey’s childhood. For me, this deepened our understanding of her character and what life was like as the “odd” kid. This journey back in time also provided a glimpse into Jackson’s perception of Audrey in three distinct stages (from her early childhood, through awkward teen crush, to her being a professional in his industry).
And her childlike wonder in adulthood just makes so much more sense:
‘Obviously this [Ferris wheel] is held together with magic. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be able to grant wishes.’

Some sage advice from the author:
‘Be a firecracker.’
Sleep in that box fort.
‘Make the best of what you have.’
Choose a best friend who will always have your “6”.

Fave lines:
‘There’s more to life than work’
‘I still need girl time with my bestie.’

This was my first foray into the author’s non-fantasy fiction works. I *totally* want, nay, NEED to go back and read the previous books in this series to catch up with the gang (Caleb, Kelsey, Melissa, Rob, Tucker, Victoria) before heading off to Penny and her beau’s tale in ‘Falling After All’ (expected in late 2025).

I loved it!!! While I have read all of Cece’s RomComs, I felt her fairytales were my favourites. This one, though…so. much. fun. It was great, and amusing, and I won’t say something else because it could be spoilerish—but I was really happy with the way some things went when I felt like I could be disappointed if things went the way I was afraid they would. See if you can puzzle that out. ; )

Cece really has a way with words (as I realised most especially when reading To Escape a Wonderland) and I saw that here in several places where it really stood out to me. It was a pleasure to read this, and I finished it wide awake at 1 a.m.

Working After All is my favourite of this series, but I am really looking forward to book four when it gets here! It looks to be enemies to lovers and just might be able to upstage this one.

Romance: clean, maybe even more so than a couple of the others

Violence: a mention of an unwanted advance, as well as “seeing” one play out that resulted in very minor physical harm. They were not overly done or overly detailed or dwelled upon

I have enjoyed all the books in the Happily Ever After All Series! Working After All is the fourth book in the series and is Audrey and Jackson’s story.

Audrey is back in her hometown to attend her cousin’s wedding. Her cousin is best friends and business partner to Audrey’s former crush Jackson. Audrey isn’t just back in town for the wedding, she has to figure out what's next in her life journey. When she is offered a temporary job working as an event manager, she jumps at the chance. This could be a problem because she will be working with Jackson, who is also her best friend’s brother!

Audrey is such a fun and sweet character. She is having to be more direct and stand up for herself. Jackson is a good guy, though he wasn’t too happy that Audrey used to have a crush on him and now they are working together.

The chemistry between Audrey and Jackson is fantastic! Lots of swoony moments.

Thank you to the author for the digital review copy, and for letting me share my early thoughts on Working After All.

Favorite parts:
- Jackson's sweatshirt
- The flashbacks
- In the loft
- The garbage disposal
- Karaoke night
- In the mudroom
- Riding the Ferris Wheel
- Watching fireworks
- Letter of recommendation
- Moving into Clark Cottage
- The Epilogue

Oh what a sweet story of unrequited love! I just loved it!

I loved the previous history we see that Jackson and Audrey have. I loved seeing them working together and seeing Jackson fall for Audrey.

I really loved that Penny, as Jackson's sister and Audrey's best friend, was perfectly okay with them being together. It was a breath of fresh air that it wasn't made into a huge deal between the friends.

It was so fun seeing glimpses of the characters from the previous books in the series. And I cannot wait fornpenny to get her story!

This is the 4th book in the Happily Ever After All series. It can be read as a stand alone.

Thanks to the author for the advanced copy. All opinions are my own.

Audrey Miller returns home because her cousin is getting wed . That and the fact she lost her job and her fella in one fell swoop , oops. Her best friend needs her to step in and run the restaurant and event business with Jackson his partner while he extended honeymoons. They have a history though ,that is no mystery as he knows she had an almighty crush and it’s a rather awkward topic . But since they’re packed in like sardines in a tiny office space like microscopic. They at least need to get on in the workplace . Trust me it’s about to go about face . In the groove she’s making moves and actually earning them some money when she shares how she lost her last job and her fella , he understands her a bit better and the workplace bully in this company has picked on the wrong woman because Audrey isn’t the wronged woman no more and your jaw is gonna hit the floor when you’re shown the door by the new partner I’ll garner! Brilliant , great writing too.

"Working after all" by Cece Louise is the 4th installment of the "Happily After All Series".

Thank you, Story Origin and the author for my ARC.
Although this is part of the "Happily After All Series", it can be read as a standalone. This clean contemporary workplace romance is told in alternating first person. Audrey and Jackson, the main characters, who have a past, are likeable, flawed, relatable, and realistic. This emotional, slow burn romance has several unexpected twists, turns, and surprisingly compelling secondary characters who add depth and dimension to the novel. This romance novel ended too soon and could be expanded another 50-100 pages for added depth and extended character development. The musical aspects of the novel add a lot to the story. A playlist would be an excellent, enjoyable, complementary addition.

Cute, sweet story. Audrey is back home for her cousin's wedding and also because her fiance dumped her and she lost her job. When she was young, she had a crush on Jackson. Unfortunately it was not reciprocated. She moved away and got over him. Since she is home, her cousin gets her to work at the Event Center he and Jackson own and Jackson works there. While she is wondering if she ever really got over him, he starts to feel differently towards her. Some drama and problems along the way, with Jackson's ex causing problems and giving Audrey a hard time just like she had when they were growing up. And someone is stealing from the register and trying to put the blame on Audrey. The characters were interesting and well-written, although they seemed to fall in love very quickly. I loved what Jackson did to find out who the real thief was. The scenes in the loft of the barn were great.

This was again a great story by Cece. I loved the vibe between Audrey and Jackson. But I have to say I wasn’t a big fan of Jackson’s attitude in the beginning but that changed very quickly once you get to know him better and he gets to know Audrey better. They are so sweet together. Every story Cece writes is full of love and friendship with beautiful romantic moments( like the Ferris wheel). There’s even some intrigue when money goes missing, in short this book has it all!
I can only recommend this book and the others in this series! And I can not wait to read Penny’s story, that sounds like a lot of fun as well!
Thank you Cece for these great books!

This book was just okay.

For some reason some things just weren’t working for me. I think a big part was that Audrey’s range of emotions seemed so small. She didn’t cry a single time, which like…sure, not everyone cries easily, but considering the compounded effect of being assaulted then fired, gaslit and ignored by your fiancé, then dumped, then asked by your MOTHER, “What did YOU do wrong? You didn’t deserve your fiancé, that’s why he dumped you.”

Just…any human would be nearly broken by having your mom shame and abandon you after all that.

Or when Mercer comes back to see her. Girl, you two should NOT be “good!” Sure, be adults about everything, but like? You would’ve thought they were talking about how he’d accidentally taken her parking spot or something, not how he’d completely dropped her after she was assaulted at work and then broke off their engagement to kiss up to his preppy family???

Whatever, I guess. When considering both her and Jackson—but especially Audrey’s—general responses to things, I just kept on thinking, “I need more, I need more.”

They just felt…flat.

I also didn’t feel a ton a chemistry, but that was probably just me.

All in all, just okay. I appreciated how Audrey grew to feel comfortable in her own skin.

I have enjoyed each of the books in this series. I liked the characters in this one (except the creepy dude we aren't supposed to like). It was fun to watch Audrey and Jackson work through the issues of their past. I particularly loved seeing Jackson learn to recognize all the wonderful things about Audrey that he had either overlooked or didn't understand in her. This was a fun read, a lovely romance and also had just a touch of intrigue going on. Who's trying to frame Audrey anyway?

Potential trigger: sexual assault
Sex: creepy leering
Language: no
Violence: brief sexual assault
*I received a complimentary ARC of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

I loved this clean workplace romance!
I was hooked from page one and I loved how "Odd" Audrey becomes "Awesome Audrey", how Jackson shows her she's not 'too much' or 'weird' and how she shows him that he doesn't need to work all the time to compensate for his feelings of being 'not enough'.
This is a great series and while each book can be read as a stand alone, I believe reading them in order will give a more rounded reading experience.
I found the characters warm & charming and the story realistic.
I look forward to reading Penny's story!

Like the other stories in the Happily Every After All series, Cece Louise keeps things clean and sweet. But that doesn't exclude cattiness, snark, thievery, manipulation, deception and the like. It's clean and sweet, but also very real. I can think of people I've met or worked with who very closely resemble the characters in this book.

Wonderful story of essentially accepting yourself for who you are, instead of trying to fit into someone else's mold. And of being truly seen for who you are.

I appreciated it and can't wait for the next story. :)

I received an ARC; this is my honest review.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is book 4 in the Happily Ever After All Series and can be read as a standalone, though I do recommend the other books in the series too. The book's blurb lets you know what to expect. Working After All is told through Audrey and Jackson's pov and is a sweeet best friend's brother romance.

CW: a side character makes off color remarks and comes on too strong
Spice: kisses that are descriptive but not steamy

I love when characters get a second chance and unrequited love becomes requited so I really enjoyed Audrey and Jackson's story. Because of her upbringing and the way her relationship ended, it was easy to understand why she didn't want to give others a reason to think they were right about her. I liked how she despite the trouble that came her way she kept going and gave everything her best, especially once she began working with Jackson. Though they had history and he wasn't sure about her, I liked how he was able to recognize that he underestimated her and appreciated her. Like her, Jackson also had his own burdens that he was carrying and I liked how reconnecting with Audrey helped him to lighten up and start to view things differently. Because of their past and situation, there was a tension between them and the build up to them accepting their feelings for each other was great. I liked the way that everything wrapped up and I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Loved this installment to the Happily Ever After All Series. You don't have to read them in order, but it adds a little extra as characters from other stories weave in and out. "Odd Audrey" is absolutely relatable, because who hasn't felt strange or different at some point in their lives and tried to break out of the role you felt typecast for? And Jackson, who only ever saw Audrey as his little sister's annoying best friend, has the quintessential "facepalm" journey, as he realizes Audrey is an interesting, gorgeous, capable woman now. I loved watching these two get over their past and come together. Neither has to change who they are essentially; they just need to adjust their preconceived notions of themselves and each other. I also loved the added "mystery" in the story--who is stealing from the till?

I have been anxiously awaiting this story and couldn’t put it down. It was so good! I love Audrey’s personality and am glad she has her people who she can be entirely herself with. Jackson and Audrey give us all the sparks as they are realizing their feelings and I loved every bit of it! Especially the Fourth of July scene. Plus it gave us insight into the next book so now I’m back to impatiently waiting for Penny’s story.

This is a dual pov, clean romance. It is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone.

I love this series so much, I could not put it down! I read all four books in three days and now cannot wait for #5. The characters are very endearing and the writing so well done! There were some really swoon worthy scenes in this book that I enjoyed, especially the Fourth of July scenes. If you are looking for a sweet, clean, well-paced romance, these are perfect for a relaxing weekend spent reading. I recommend starting with #1 to fully appreciate all of the character development. Hopefully #5 of this series will be out soon!

Not my favorite of all of them but clean and no cursing. :)

Goofy Audrey in the beginning was a different person in the end. But not necessarily because of growth, kind of and almost felt like she was two different people.
It was hard to believe he disliked her so much then dated her. The story seemed to have a lot going on.

Spoilers:
Why didn’t the previous company she worked for get sued?
How did two low lives have the skills to hack a camera?
Why would her ex come all the way from Chicago if he didn’t actually care about her?
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

How cute is this book? Childhood crush that ends in utter humiliation. Back in town and he’s your boss? Sign me up. Jackson and Audrey deal with their own personal struggles and I think the author handled them perfectly. I loved the supporting characters and the town came to life. So many adorable scenes, but absolutely loved all of the Ferris wheel scenes. The ending is so melty. Looking forward to the next book!

Jackson and Audrey

He told he would NEVER EVER want to kiss her!! Boy howdy, that's harsh! It's a wonder Audrey is ever willing to be in the same room with him after that let alone remain best friends with Jackson's sister!! Yikes! And O.U.C.H!!! Chalk it up to Jackson being a guy, young, and stupid, I guess. It always amazes me when an MC doesn't realize his deep feelings for the FMC...and Jackson hit that nail on the head, too.
