Fall I Want is a feel-good, spicy small-town, romantic comedy with a billionaire who falls first and harder. Grab a pumpkin spice latte, a warm fuzzy blanket, and make your way down to Cozy Creek.
Autumn
The brokenhearted billionaire visits Cozy Creek to escape. I never expected to become his fake girlfriend or fall madly in love...but here we are.
My first impression of Zane Alexander isn't great. The second is worse, but when he uses his powers of persuasion to get me to hang out with him, I can’t say no. We quickly go from familiar strangers to flirty friends.
When my ex returns, Zane flawlessly pretends to be my boyfriend to protect me. He’s so damn good at it, I almost believe it.
I don’t know when our relationship moves from pretending to passionate, but I catch feelings. As our exes desperately crawl back into our lives like zombies, I realize there is only one man for me, and (f)all I want is him.
Zane
Everything changes the moment I see her. Autumn's enchanting gaze makes my heart race, so I push her away to protect myself. Immediately, I regret it. But when I find her standing in my haunted house, I convince her to be my friend. She begrudgingly agrees.
As the leaves transform and Cozy Creek's fall festivities come alive, our playful charade blossoms into something more.
The lines between real and pretend begin to blur, and I find myself falling under her spell.
I should keep my broken heart in check, but instead, I fight for love that feels like magic.
This woman is all I've ever needed and (f)all I want.
Lyra Parish is a hopeless romantic obsessed with writing spicy Hallmark-like romances. When she isn’t immersed in fictional worlds, you can find her pretending to be a Vanlifer with her hubby. Lyra loves coffee, the great outdoors, authentic people, and living her best life.
This book started off SO strong. I absolutely loved the cozy fall vibes and the connection between Autumn and Zane. However, once they fell in love, that was it. It was basically 1,000 different ways of them saying they loved each other and it was just too much. I was literally skimming the last 4 chapters because why was it THAT long????
This was a really warm and cozy romance read. It came with all the autumn themed elements I love! It made feel lighthearted, emotional, hopeful and relaxed. It even gave me some really good laughs! I loved the characters in the story and felt that even the minor characters stood out! I could really feel the chemistry between the two main characters. This novel is not just filled with pumpkins, fall festivities, and leaves falling, it also comes with spice! Looking at the cover, I would have never guessed that there would be any spicy scenes between the main characters! Fake dating to real feelings is what happens in this billionaire, small town romance comedy! This book reminded me of a hallmark movie, but with spice! I just wanted to grab a cup of warm tea, a big blanket and read this book that’s full of coziness! Overall, I rate this book a 4 out of 5 stars!

my first red flag, a glaring scarlet beacon, arrived almost immediately: the dreaded insta-love. ugh seriously? autumn and zane meet, and bam. suddenly they’re gazing into each other’s souls like they’ve known each other for a lifetime instead of five minutes.
and don't get me wrong, autumn and zane could have been adorable. individually, there were glimmers of charm. i wanted to like them. i wanted to root for them. but together, they coalesced into a sticky, syrupy mess. their entire dynamic seemed orchestrated to be as fluffy and lovey-dovey as humanly possible, bordering on a diabetic coma for the reader. every conversation was either "i love you" or "i love you too" or some variation of nauseatingly affectionate drivel. they were cute, yes, but only in small doses.
THIS BOOK DRAGGED. it meandered. i kept turning pages, waiting, begging for something, anything, to happen. a conflict, perhaps? a misunderstanding? a character development that wasn't just "they love each other more now"? nope. also, nothing made sense here. i mean, nothing. none of these things added an element to this story.
my expectations, fueled by that delightful, truly perfect cover, were cruelly dashed. i wanted a cozy autumn read, a gentle romance that made me feel warm and fuzzy.
thank you to netgalley and avon and harper voyager for the e-arc in exchange for my honest review!
I really really wanted to love this but I really really didn’t.
The beginning was cute and was delivering the fall vibes but I just couldn’t stand the insta-love. The dialogue was so cringe too and I just couldn’t take it anymore. I’m still counting this toward my reading goal because I suffered through 300 pages
The first half of the book was so good!!!!! But the second half…
We completely lost the plot, every interaction between zane and autumn was a love proclamation, they got married after knowing each other for a month (and the whole book was set during like a month and a half span), and the whole second half was just a mess. We lost all the fall vibes and it made me emo
I love a billionaire romance because he will just buy her whatever and i eat it up, but the second half of this book disappointed me so bad!!!
If readers are into small-town romance that has witchy vibes, magic-inspired stuff, fated mates, and fairytale-esque stories, then this might be the book for them. Granted, it's a contemporary romance, but most of the locals and side characters believe in fate, talk about love spells and potions, and think magic is everywhere. 🤷♀️
Anyway, as for me, it was too insta, too cheesy, and too smooth-sailing, thus making it underwhelming. Nothing much was really happening in the story; there's no real conflict because the moment Zane (38) and Autumn (33/34) met, they both knew they were it for each other. Some sort of prophecy or connection led by an invisible string. They didn't fight it off, and they immediately embraced it, and the rest of the story was about them being disgustingly adorable and cutesy.
It was sweet in the beginning because it really seemed like a fairytale come true. The MCs were perfectly made for each other, and everyone around them sees the chemistry as well.
But to read about freaking fluffy stuff for almost 400+ pages is not going to do it for me. I eventually got bored with all the sweet things, cheesefest, and f*ckfest. It got so repetitive that I lost interest and even contemplated skimming through it. Yet I still managed to push through, and I'm going to say that it didn't get better. This was sappy, cringey, and full of lovey-dovey moments from start to finish. 🙃
Again, if that's what readers' cup of tea is, then they might end up loving this book. 🤷♀️ It's just not for me.
Book info: - Small town romance - Witchy and magical vibes - Fated mates (???) - Insta-love - Billionaire romance - Loss of loved one (past) - Cheesefest galore - No cheating, separation - OPD (Their exes showed up and made some minor dramas, but the MCs weren't interested) - No V (h - 2 yrs, H - 6 mos??) - HEA (Married)

This was like a 14 year olds version of what love is. Marriage after a month? Check. Mushy how much I love you conversations every page? Check. A psychic predicting the man of your dreams that you call Mr. Dreamy for the next ten years? Check.
Should have dnf’d but it was a train wreck and I couldn’t look away.

🎃My Thoughts🎃 Well, that was interesting.
I was so ready for the cute and cozy fall vibes that were screaming at me on the cover. The pumpkin lattes, pumpkin treats, and the cool, crisp autumn sweater-weather. And I got that…for the first half of the book. Once Autumn and Zane started falling for each other, that’s all that mattered. The fall vibes were set to the side and forgotten for a hot and spicy time with these two love-birds. 😭
And now that we’re on the topic of the happy couple, can I just say that everything between them escalated way too quickly? As we are all aware, I am not a fan of insta-love, but this story was promising. You think it’s going to be an enemies-to-lovers type situation that turns into their fake dating scheme. Zane did say, after all, that Autumn’s coffee tastes like, and I quote, “shit.” That’s a great start! Yes. I love that. Offend the girl and she’ll hate your guts until…wait. What’s that? There’s an immediate attraction and an undeniable force or energy between the two that makes sparks fly and clothes fall to the ground. Nooo! 😅 I will admit that the two were cute together, but it was too fast for me. I’m too realistic and practical for these kinds of stories. I was intrigued, however, by the whole billionaire romance thing going on. I haven’t read that trope, so finally experiencing that was exactly that: an experience. 😂 But hey! I liked it, and I would definitely read more in the future.
Although Lyra Parish is not a terrible writer, I wasn’t exactly sold on it. I’m so sorry! I’m usually so accepting and forgiving of writing, especially in this day and age, where we like to keep things short and simple, but I just didn’t like the writing. It was too simple for me. Give me some prose, some long sentences with depth and more figurative language. 😭🙏🏼
Besides the amount of spice in the middle and end (I knew what I was getting myself into, so it’s my fault 😅), I was also a little thrown off by the lack of conflict in here. And that’s coming from someone who cringes when crap hits the fan because I'm no good with conflict or confrontations. But as I waited for things to go downhill, they didn’t. Thank God, there wasn’t a third-act breakup, but there was literally nothing to put pressure on these characters to be better versions of themselves. They grew, yeah, but just because of each other? Is that how life works? If so, sign me up because that sounds a heck of a lot better than whatever hand God dealt me. 😂
Anyway, even though I had some issues with the book, I still did like it. Am I going to read it again? No. Do I think you should read it? Yes, and I hope you love it and it becomes your next favorite book. 🥰
Wow, thank you all so much for giving Fall I Want a chance! I'm so excited about this book. I've been obsessed with autumn since I was a little kid and my obsession has followed me through adulthood. When I was asked to take part in this shared world it was an automatic YES!
If you're searching for an autumn-inspired SPICY series, look no further! The Cozy Creek authors have got you this crunchy leaf season!

PS. even if this book isn't a "win" for you, I'm so appreciative that you've given me and my words a chance.
if you were to put random words in a generator and have it make a 500 page story about the stupidest shit you could ever imagine, it would still probably be better than this. literally nothing in this book was developed and everything was so out of pocket it was horrible to follow. like painstakingly horrible.
insane things that actually happened in this book: she called him “mr. dreamy”, he called her “pumpkin”, there were brothers named easton and weston, they got married after like a week of knowing each other without having said the at they love each other, everybody was fine with them getting married, there were weird somehow supernatural elements that felt so forced like the sister being psychic or the ghost at the manor, the dad’s heart attack actually just being gas from him eating beans. nothing really made sense.
I want to start this review by saying I didn't HATE this book. I thought it had a lot of potential. I really liked the cozy fall vibes (especially as the place I live currently descends into fall.) and I liked the main premise. But there are some things that really dragged the rating down for me.
1. It was insanely insta lovey for me. I have a really hard time with insta-love because it makes the story insanely unrealistic. Especially when the book is set in our real world (hello pop culture references from 2023). Not only that, it makes things so much less dramatic. The main characters literally fall in love with each other based on a single interaction. And then spend the next three hundred pages saying "I DONT KNOW IF THIS IS WORTH THE RISK BUT I LOVE YOU." It just started to get really repetitive.
2. Which brings me to my next point. This book was insanely repetitive. After they basically fall in love after one meeting, the main plot of the book is just them going at it at every chance they get and then saying they love each other in a million different ways. WHERE WAS THE DRAMA? Even the fake dating was blah because WE ALL KNEW IT WASNT FAKE right off the bat. The reason they start fake dating is because of drama with their respective exes, OKAY. SO WHERE ARE THE EXES? WHERE IS THE DRAMATIC BLOW UP? WHERE IS THE TENSION IN THE FAKE DATING RELATIONSHIP? it doesn't exist. And to me that made the story really drag.
3. If you want a book with virtually no plot, fall vibes, and a whole lot of spice this might be up your alley. I prefer a little more plot and a little less spice. But not only that the spicy scenes started to get really... cringy. I'll leave it there.
4. This book was STUPID long. Why was it almost 500 pages, when the story literally could have been told in less than 200 (especially because there was no tension, no third act breakup and no drama in the plot.)
Overall, this book wasn't a win for me. But that being said, I did stick it out until the end and I can't say that I'm entirely glad or not glad that I did. Overall it was just kind of a meh experience. But once again, if you want a book that has spice, no plot, and fall vibes check this one out.
There is no reason for a romance book to be 470 pages, insta-love, some witchy destined to be together soulmate shit. Why on earth were they in love within the first 40 pages, and why on earth did it continue FOR SO LONG. its like i lost years of my life reading this
This book was the most perfect fall read! It was so much fun reading Zane and Autumns story! It was such a happy read, although I did cry at least once 🥹. Highly recommend checking this out!
This was such a steamy book and i wasn't expecting that with the sweet cover lol. I liked the fall vibes and the way the main characters fell for each other. This is a small town romance where the fmc works in a bakery and is an aspiring author and the mmc is a millionaire that leaves the city to this small town to take a break. The first meeting between the mc's wasn't great but there was an instant attraction. They decide to be friends and to make an agreement to benefit each other in front of their ex and family. I liked the different plots that were in the book the grief of the mmc and how they came together. They were both so so cute and phew was it so steamy. The book was low conflict and very cozy for the perfect fall rom com vibes. I would definitely recommend
Update: just realized each book in the series is written by a different author 😅🤦♀️
DNF @ 75%
I read book 5 first and am a bit shocked at the difference in writing between 1 and 5.
This story has a totally different tone and feel than Fall Shook Up. It started off fun and extremely festive, but got cringier and cringier. There’s elements of magic, ghosts, and soulmates finding each other, which can be done really well, but just not the case this time. The characters jump around and make really random decisions and the author would suddenly throw in an important character we didn’t even know of and then quickly remove them… it was just so scattered and cheesy and immaturely written.
I’m hoping that at least some of her other books in this series will be similar to Fall Shook Up.
Okay I really need spicy books to not be behind cute covers anymore because WOW 🌶️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️
The brokenhearted billionaire visits Cozy Creek to escape. I never expected to become his fake girlfriend or fall madly in love...but here we are.
Okay I have a lot of thoughts on this so bear with me and some spoilers may be given. This book started off STRONG. I loved the small town of Cozy Creek, the banter/instant dislike between the two main characters and the female main characters best friends were hilarious. Then it got weird and he basically threatened her to be his friend??? Okay over looking that part; things got fun again. He has a cool spooky mansion, they continue their fun banter and insert his sister who is another hilarious and fun character. BUTTTTT…..she can see the future? Specifically when it comes to couples??? Nope don’t buy it, things just got bizarre. Once again, overlooking that and continuing on…. The author decides to insert a fake dating trope and it makes zero sense. They aren’t even trying to keep it fake. They constantly talk about marriage, the future and even use official titles of BF/GF. Again, I overlook this because I’m just loving the setting and all of the characters involved. Then the plot hits the breaks and we just get s*x s*x and more s*x. I don’t even want to know how many pages I had to skip in this book. But again, I wanted to finish the book because I was very invested in this story and all of the characters at this point. The ending however got messy because it clearly was trying to set up a follow up book and kinda wrapped things quickly with these main characters and started to move on to others. Also; it’s my first billionaire trope and probably my last; gosh I hated every part of that aspect of the book. Lastly, This book had NO business being over 500 pages.
So overall, I’m glad I read it, it’s perfect for fall and got me in the autumn vibes but I’ll probably forget it quickly.

4 stars! Super cute! This could have been 100 pages shorter and with less repetitive spicy scenes, and maybe a plot twist or some more third person drama.
Why can’t you do zero stars on here? WHY CAN’T I GIVE NEGATIVE STARS?! This may actually be the worst book I’ve ever read. I started this hoping for a cozy, fall romance and instead got a cringe-y pile of shit.
• Insta-Love and a lot of cheesy moments. • I enjoyed it at first then the rest of the book was boring (They are deeply in love from the beginning so there is nothing but how they love each other). • Why the h is so needy!!! • The book wasn't that bad it's just me. __________
Safety:
— OMD/OWD: their exes cause pathetic drama (The MCs only have eyes for each other) — No cheating/scenes with op — They were both romantically involved with other people before finding each other, and they are each other's "true love/soulmate” — About their past they both mentioned their first love
* About MCs and their exes :
— Both MCs are heartbroken by their exes (I never felt like they were hung up on their exes, they were just hurting for themselves). — They both had toxic relationships with their exes. — The h was with her ex-bf for six years and he was the one who ended their relationship and this broke her heart, he came back again to get her back but she didn't want anything to do with him anymore (he cheated on her several times). — The H caught his ex-fiancé cheating on him with his best friend and he wasn't the one who broke up with her, she was. — His ex is also trying to get him back but he's not interested at all.
Note: I didn’t like this… His first love and the girl who took his virginity is now his step-sister (his father married her mother at present, and his relationship with this woman was almost 20 years ago. She’s married now and has three kids and of course he no longer has feelings for her but still this gives me the ick 😐)

This was my first by Lyra Parish and it certainly won’t be my last. This book was so cozy and cute and gives you all the fall vibes. This book is part of a series where each book is written by a different author.
This book is pretty fast paced and has a bit of a magical feel. The MCs figure out they are pretty much destined for one another after they decide to fake date. From there it gets really steamy. There were some times that I was literally blushing and fanning myself from Zane’s mouth.
I will warn that you does get a bit cheesy at and I felt it was tad long. I think if some of the added fluff was cut out to make a bit shorter this would have gotten a higher rating from me.
Overall: 4 Spice: 3
Tropes: - Strangers to Lovers - Opposites Attract - Billionaire Romance - Fake Dating - Small Town - No 3rd Act Breakup
This is the perfect book to get into fall vibes! I want to move to Cozy Creek! It sounds like the perfect cute little town from a Hallmark movie 🤍 Autumn is literally living my dream life. Zane is a brokenhearted billionaire with probably the coolest future predicting sister ever!
Autumn’s friends are amazing side characters that support her through the start of the Zane relationship, and that they cast a love spell of them!
I’m so excited that this was my first fall book of the year and I can’t wait to read the rest of the Cozy Creek Collection! This book gave me all the fall/spooky/cute romcom feels! I wish Cozy Creek was a real town to visit!
When I think of fall, my mind automatically goes to the fresh smell of pumpkin bread in the oven, a sizzling hot cup of pumpkin spiced latte, the windows open so I can smell the fresh fall air, watching the leaves change colors, a big fuzzy blanket and a warm fire crackling! Oh, and of course… fall is my absolute favorite time of the year.
And what I have gained from this all consuming, beautiful universe that Lyra Parish has created with this story, is all Of these things…. The most magical FALL time setting, with an adventure that I never want to leave. And the pumpkin smells that have left my mouth watering and my mind constantly thinking about the best fall time coffees.
Lyra has taken 2 characters that have a past, they have flaws, they have walls built up and baggage that has caused them both to have more caution.
But that’s what is what draws the reader in. The relatable story that she has created, the familiarity of real life stressors and struggles. But also how you can endure the past and create an emotional driving force to overcome & Recreate such a beautiful present and future.
Zane and Autumn truly are head strong characters who are both whitty and charismatic as well. They love hard, they spice harder and they will pull at your heart and make you a puddle in the floor. Their chemistry was OFF THE CHARTS!! And I’m here for every single bit of it!
The banter within the intrapersonal relationships, both with the main and side characters, was so much fun. The romcom aspect was on point. The giggles and steam came in hot, hard and heavy! The goosebumps and tears were there. And the ahh-haa moments were top notch.
This was my absolute favorite Fall Time read ever! I think Lyra really took this book into a universe that everyone will fall hard for and I cannot recommend it enough!!!
🦋 Bravo my beautiful butterfly! Well done!!! 10/5⭐️
The most perfect cosy, cute autumnal romance! I’m not usually the kinda girly who likes the whole ‘fated mates’ vibe but I have to admit I really enjoyed it in this one!

Zaskakuję, że akurat ON tam mieszka.
Ona też tłucze swój telefon, on kupuje jej najnowszego Iphona. Kolejne spotkania (dosłownie 4 albo 5) oglądają u niego film. Zasypiają w jednym łóżku i nasza główna bohaterka robi sobie dobrze kiedy on śpi obok. Nic o sobie nie wiedzą, tak tylko dodam.
Cały czas powtarzają sobie, że są bratnimi duszami i los ich sobie zesłał. Ona chce napisać romans, ale się wstydzi. Więc on płaci jej 10 000 $ żeby mogła taką książkę, a najlepiej to * o nim* napisać.
Pomiędzy cały czas uprawiają sex… i wyznają sobie miłość… mówiłam to?
Dla mnie to najgorszy romans ever. Gdzie jakieś napięcie i uczucie. Ładna to jest tutaj tylko okładka. Ledwo co ją skończyłam :x
This is seriously one of the coziest fall romances! It is full of so many magical moments. Autumn and Alexander get off to a rocky start but after that they just couldn’t stay away from each other.
Autumn has dreamed about the same man for years. She dreamed about him so much she nicknamed him Mr. Dreamy. She is currently in a rut in her life and doesn’t know how to get out of it. She always dreamed of being a writer but the words just won’t come to her. She had a bad relationship and has all but given up on trying to find her Mr. Dreamy. Imagine her shock when her dream man walks into her job. He’s a real guy named Alexander and he seems like a jerk in real life.
Alexander is looking to fly under the radar when he visits his family’s home in Cozy Creek. He doesn’t want to be recognized as Zane Alexander, heir to a family who owns resorts all over the world. When he encounters Autumn he feels the magic pulling them together but he fights it at first.
When they decide to fake date, the lines get blurred, VERY quickly.
This is definitely a romance story where the couple goes all in quickly because they are destined for each other! It was also DELICIOUSLY spicy. 😮💨🫠🔥
I can’t stress to you enough how much this story embodies Fall! There are festivals, a spooky mansion, pumpkin carving and dancing in the rain. From start to finish this story soothed my soul and felt like the coziest of hugs.
