For the past two months, FBI Special Agent Journey Russo has had nothing to focus on except working with her therapist to heal the lingering trauma caused by the fire that claimed her family. Until back to school at a nearby university has her grappling with a different kind of tragedy.
Murder.
The victim, a sophomore at a small local college, was raped and stabbed in her first-floor apartment. Unfortunately, she’s not the first. The crime eerily echoes the death of another female student just two weeks before. Local police arrested the woman’s boyfriend. But if he was in jail, who committed the second crime?
Suddenly, what seemed like an open-and-shut case is far from it.
Both women attended the same university, were the same age, had several classes together, looked almost identical to each other, and were killed shortly after their date left their apartment. One homicide could be an isolated incident. Two deaths with similar modus operandi and signatures means more murders are imminent. Unless Journey can catch the killer roaming Mason University before he spills more blood.

oh oh Journey! Will you be able to take down the Chosen before they finally take you?? Unless the embers I am near are for making golden brown toasted marshmallows I really do not like even small camp fires. This book included not only psychotic killers but geeks as well. A lot of cringe worthy worry some things like murders, fires, scary software it left me thinking of things that scare me that I normally can keep buried now too close to the top of my mind! Another good read just maybe no close to bedtime!
Journey and her partners have a knack for strange cases. And a knack for figuring them out. It helps to read this book as part of the series but its great as a stand alone also. I didn't want to put it down until I knew the end but the end wasn't at all how I expected. But that's how these stories go when Mary Stone writes them. I hate waiting for next release. Join the club...
Looks like someone is stalking special female students at a local college and killing them. The local police have called Journey & Lucas in to help them catch the culprit before he strikes again. However what seems like a so called easy case because of evidence turned up, turns into a nightmare.
Journey paradox is the latest in the Mary’s books and series. They are coming faster , intense and I can’t figure it out how the authors maintain the uniqueness and fast pace of each released books. Just amazing. This time we are thrown into the small town college’ life. Journey and Lucas are investigating the deaths of the young girls, which appear to be done by their boyfriends. Without any clues and time btw murders shortening, both get frustrated and on edge. While getting close, the case grows in the intensity and strangeness. Along the way the Chosen is closing up again. This was an amazing and fast read. I heartily recommend this book .
Two college co-eds have been found in their off campus apartments. There’s not much evidence or clues to go on but Journey and Lucas start digging, looking for any information that might lead them in the right direction. The only obvious clue is both girls had a couple classes together and shared a similar appearance. The local police arrested the first victims boyfriend, but when the second victim was found he was believed to probably be innocent. Their hunt for the murderer hits lots of roadblocks, leaving them to start over a couple times. Very interesting read !
When Journey and Lucas are searching for the killer of young women in their dorms at Mason University. When a false sense of security comes by thinking the Murderer had been caught more girls are murdered. I've loved catching up with Journey and her partner Lucas, both FBI Agents and with a new case. The Journey Russo Series has been a great addition to my E-book and I have loved every word, every page turn. I think you will enjoy it also, if you like Murder Mysteries and FBI stories and also because you enjoy Authors who keep you in suspense.
JOURNEY’S PARADOX is the sixth installment to Mary Stone's and Amy Wilson's "Journey Russo FBI Mystery Series". Get ready for a story that has echos of the off-campus student murders at Washington State University.
Our FBI agents, just completed their last case of murder and arson. Their next tough case was just handed to them. In a small local college, someone is killing young curvy, red-headed women. These students have been raped after being stabbed to death.
The police arrested the boyfriend of the women’s boyfriend, but he was in jail when the second murder happened. Are there two killers? Or was an innocent person attested. Journey and Lucas think they have found the real murderer, but this time they want to make sure they have the right killer. Will Journey and Lucas be able to stop the killer before he ends more innocent lives?
Don't miss this and other amazing stories by Mary Stone and Amy Wilson. They are all fast paced with twists and turns that will not disappoint.
As she heads home Journey is faced with another fire and a warning, "the last thing you'll save."
I received a copy of this book from the authors and this is my freely given and honest review. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to more in this series.
What a great book. This is written well and contains just the right number of twists and turns. Just when you think you have it figured out, you don't. A small-town college is being terrorized by a killer who has a certain taste. He likes his women to be the perfect pin-up girl. And he wants them to be above reproach and morally sound. He tolerates no breach in morals. He watches them and has a front row seat through their own computers. He is deadly! Journey is tasked with hunting down this killer, and she has a grieving father, who is also a judge, breathing down her neck. It's quite the ride! And the ending will grab you! Good read!
I really enjoyed the mystery and suspense in Journey's Paradox by Mary Stone because not knowing who the culprit was kept me guessing until the very end. The action in this book was also very entertaining, even though the storyline brought out many emotions to me as a woman in real life. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes great mysteries, and I really look forward to reading the next book in this series as well as any others written by Mary Stone. Keep up the great writing.
Once again Mary Stone and Amy Wilson have written another thrilling story in the Journey Russo series! Journey and her FBI partner Lucas Sullivan again find themselves with gut wrenching murders to solve. As this book progresses the brutality of this case keeps the reader engrossed and flying through the pages. The last chapter is heart stopping! Very chilling and very hard to put this book down!
A great series. Agents Journey, her partner Lucas & her CSI sister find themselves back at college investigating grossly murders of red-headed female students. . As they seem to close in on suspects, another murder happens & they are searching for the murderer again. A real roller coaster ride that will keep you reading & guessing
Consistency and pure devotion gives you real answers!
Great read. What a team. They just don't give up. Really a great team effort. No stone unturned. Journey, Lucas and Miranda would not even think about not doing the best job the could. Now that this chapter is over, Journey has to deal with someone coming for her look
In this story it was difficult to figure out the killer. Journey and Lucas had their work to solve the case. After thinking who could have done such a horrible situation and thinking they had solved the case they discovered who was really the killer. The celebration of a birthday and closing of a case left Journey in a good place but it didn't last long.
A GREAT BOOK THAT IS WELL WRITTEN AND WILL KEEP YOU ENGROSSED TILL THE LAST PAGE. THE STORYLINE IS ORIGINAL WITH PLENTY OF TWISTS AND TURNS TO KEEP YOU TURNING THE PAGES TILL THE END. THE CHARACTERS ARE GREAT AND BECOME YOUR FRIENDS DURING THE BOOK. WHAT MORE CAN YOU ASK FOR?
Mary Stone and Amy Wilson have done again. Another fast-paced thriller that keeps you hooked from the beginning to the end. Every book in the series is better than the last. Can't wait to read what's coming next. I am an ARC member, and this is my honest review.
Wow this series keeps getting better and more intense. I spent the day reading because I was so involved. The killer was a surprise and so was the ending. Superb! I wish the next book was available now!
Another case where Journey and Michelle, her sister, get to work together. Fast paced and lots of ups and downs with this one. .....BUT.... the ending? Ah, come on!!!! Now we have to wait? Here's hoping that they finish the next book in the series FAST!
So many persons of interest, so many yearning, deluded co-eds self-deluded into hazy, romantic fantasies, leaving themselves at the mercy of predatory, narcissistic, homicidal maniacs….
I never tire reading Mary’s books. I may get sleepy at times, but never tire. I always want to come back to my reading. Thank you so much Mary. You are pretty much the reason for me to keep reading. My appreciation is high on the charts. Dave
I have read 50 or so Mary Stone/ Some Other Great writer and have NEVER, not once, been anything less then enthralled and engaged. I have said this before and it's true again; read this book.
Loved the story line. There were a lot of twists. I should have guessed who was killing the girls. I just wanted to keep reading to see what happened next. A definite must read.
